I just realized that Lana's remark to Clark about him pretending to help Lex out of friendship was said in season 1 except with Witney instead of Lex.
"Season 1 Hug" Lana: Yeah, there is. You're looking for an excuse to knock Whitney. You know what he's going through with his dad. If you don't like him, just say it. Don't pretend to be his friend.
