Does anybody have any information on the new Season 8 Buffy Comics Joss is doing. Release? Content? Timeline?

Apparently Season 8 comics are coming out in March 2007

The new Buffy the Vampire Slayer series is targeted for a March launch, according to Dark Horse Comics.

The first story arc will be a four-part series. The comic will chronicle events after the Buffy television series.

Buffy creator Joss Whedon is writing, with art by Georges Jeanty.

it sucks that it's being pushed back so much, but I know it'll be worth that wait.

He should stop doing comics and concentrate on the spike movie. He doesn't have much free time and he should spend it wisely.

I'm assuming that he believes he is spending it wisely... if he wants to do comics, then he should do them. From what I remember Joss was never interested in doing the Spike movie... it was going to be some of the other writers/producers who were going to work on it.

Will these new comics perhaps coincide with what Andrew said in Angel season 5? About Buffy's (and the rest) whereabouts? Her involvement with The Immortal? I'd love to know more about that character...

I hope it matches up with the stuff they said in S5 of Angel, and I'd like it to take place near the end of S5 or after and not conflict with the IDW Angel comics because I like those and I'd like them to be as close to canon as they can. As far as the Spike movie goes, I hope it can happen, but Joss said there was budget problems which sucks. If they do do a movie I hope it doesn't conflict with the S8 comics or the IDW ones and hopefully they can make a good enough story and quality to warrant that it happens. When it comes to the S8 Comics I hope they are written as if it was the show itself just happening a period of time afterward. Sometimes with comics they have a story happen and it's good but you know it's not exactly the way it would happen if it was on screen. Like the IDW ones, they are good but I think they may have gone with a different story if it was on tv. I wonder what S8 iof of Buffy would have been like if it was on tv at the same time as Angel, would SPike have stuck around L.A. or gone to buffy and would the part with Andrew have been the same and the explainations of Buffy in Rome. You guys ever wonder about that kind of stuff.

Im reading Queen of the Slayers now. That book takes place literally as they are on the bus leaving Sunnydale. It goes into detail what happens after Sunnydale and leads into the Immortal stuff mentioned in Angel. It also shows how Andrew got the job of going to LA to get the rogue slayer as shown in Angel too. I wonder if the first arc would be a comic adaptation of this.

Buffy wasn't with the Immortal. That was some thing Andrew made up because he thought it would be hilarious. Joss stated this in an interview about the season 8 comics. So it's cannon.

Does anyone know where I will be able to buy this comic when it's released? Preferably a website so I can just put in my credit card number and be done with it :D

Thanks ahead of time if anyone knows.

I read the comics, but since I couldn't get my hands on original covers, I decided just to hold off. And now I am just getting Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight, Volume 1: The Long Way Home. It's like $13, pretty good price. I say pick it up if you don't have the comics already.

I just started reading season 8 with "The Long Way Home". I thought it was pretty good with all the mannerisms of the characters and the action was pretty good too. I laughed at Dawn when she squashed Amy. Anyways, I hope to start catching up on this series and see how it progresses.
