Shadow Episode 3:Marrow

Alright Shadow fans here is the thread for episode 3.

But I won't start until tomorrow becasue I'm still a bit beat from adding the last acts to Brother. But the story begins tomorrow :).

Here is the usual synopsis :).

Synopsis: Drake and friends are back in school on a Monday but after Shelly is almost assassinated it's up to Drake to find out who this guy is and what he wants. But he must also apologize to Becca for missing dinner last night. Will Becca forgive him? And who is this assassin? Well looks like you'll have to read and find out :).

ACT 1

EXT. MILLTEN HIGH

Drake and his friends were walking up to the school. But it seems they heard about Drake "ditching" Becca yesterday.
Man word spread really fast in high school.

Shelly
So Drake why did you miss your dinner date with Becca? Another girl,cold feet,"cold"?

Drake
Ha Ha very funny. I told you my brother forced me into some errands while he was here.

Jacob
What I can't believe is that me and Shelly missed your bros visit. He was always so cool plus he holds like all the records for track over here.

Drake
Well too bad Jacob looks like you'll have to wait till next visit.

Jacob
Yeah I guess so.
Anyway what are you guys doing this weekend.

Drake(sounding a bit bored)
Nothing.

Shelly
Well not me in fact today I gotta practice.
I have my first almost pro race Friday after school.

Jacob
Aww cool and when you become famous me and Drake can be your managers and be rich.

Shelly
Woah hold on there I get to pick my manager and you two seem underqualified.

Drake smirked.

Drake
Alright you guys I'm going to class.

And Drake walked away from his friends.

Meanwhile up in a tree a gunman waits his target is slowing it was time to strike.

Drake glanced back and saw something unusual on a tree. It was a red dot like one used for targeting with a.....sniper rifle.

Drake ran as fast as possible to get to his friends but he didn't quite make it as it went onto Shelly but he pushed her downto the ground.

Shelly
Drake what was that.....oh my God! Jacob,get some help!

Jacob looked at Drake's fallen body his chest bleeding.

Then Jacob nodded and ran to the office.

Shelly barely heard Jacob calling for help.

Jacob(border line frantic or panicking)
Please,somebody get help! Call an ambulance my friend's been shot!

Shelly hugged Drake's body close praying that he'd make it through this.

Shelly(sobbing)
You saved my life...you've got to make it. You just have to.

Meanwhile the gunman leapt from the tree and he crept silently to his car sitting behind the gym and he drove away.

*Cut to opening credits,Shadow appears from a dark background(theme-Greg Jones's Ordinary)*

INT. MILLTEN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL-WAITING ROOM

Shelly sat with Jacob in the waiting room with the Conrad's. Shelly was still crying and Jacob held her hand tightly.

Jacob(whispering)
Shelly he's gonna make it...I know he is.

Shelly nods tears trickling down her face.

Suddenly a doctor came in clipboard in hand.

Carlos motioned for the teens and his wife to remain seated.

Carlos(looking at the doctor)
Doctor,how is he?

Doctor
He's well enough but he's weakso we might have to keep him here overnight just in case.

Carlos
I don't know Drake is pretty strong I think he'll be able to come home today or tonight rather.

Doctor
Alright it's your call sir. Well I really gotta get back to work. But you all are welcomed to see him he's awake somewhat now.

Carlos
Thank you.

The doctor smiled and walked away.

And Carlos turned the the others and smiled.

INT. APARTMENT

Freddie slammed his gun down by his bed and he collapsed onto his bed.

As he lay on the bed he pulled his ski mask off.

Freddie Lewis is a muscular man with short cut spiked hair and he was wearing all black today. A black long sleeved shirt,and some black jeans.

He stared up at the ceiling.

How could he have missed the girl?

He never missed...much.

But he silently swore he'd get her soon.

ACT 2

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM 300

Drake sat up and ate some of the slop these nurses and doctors called jello.

It was aweful but at least it helped his dry throat.

Then he looked out the window. He wished Shelly and Jacob could've stayed longer but hey they had to go back to school.

Suddenly Drake heard someone at the door and soon the door opened revealing Becca.

Drake placed the circular tart green jello filled container and spoon on the tray beside his bed and smiled at her.

Becca ran over and hugged him and they shared a quick kiss.

Then Drake stopped it and motioned for Becca to sit on the bed.

Then Drake began to talk to her.

Drake
Hey Bec sorry about missing dinner the other night it's just my brother Derek was in town like I'd said to you but he kept me out late,I'm sorry. Can your mom see me after I get out of here?

Becca smiled and held Drake's hand.

Becca(smiling)
Alright but no more freebies from getting shot or anything else.

Drake(smirking)
Deal.

Suddenly Drake and Becca heard a knock at the door.

Becca walked over and opened it and she saw Rachel and the redhead stepped inside.

Rachel saw Drake was awake.

Rachel
I heard about you this morning Drake I'm glad you're alright.

Drake(smiling)
Thanks,hey you girls better go I think visiting hours are over. Plus I don't want anyone to mess up today at school because of me.


The girls smiled at him and walked out. Drake smiled after them then he laid his head down and glanced out the window watching the day go by outside.

INT. MACER SCIENCE LABS

Freddie walked down the long hall to a dim lit room.

He walked inside and called for Dr. Morgan.

Freddie
Doc you in here,I need more "help".

Suddenly he heard the clack of high heels and Dr. Morgan walked out into the dim lit room.

Dr. Morgan
Yes I'm here Freddie,but I have to warn you if over use these strength enhancers I'm giving you even I'm not sure what'll happen.

Freddie
Well doc I'm just hoping I don't drop dead. That stuff works wonders I mean I can lift an entire truck without much trouble. Now I'm glad you picked me as your guinea pig.

Dr.Morgan
Just make sure to call if something goes wrong.

Freddie
Alright just give me a new vile or two alright.

Dr. Morgan(reaching into her desk and pulling out two viles of a pale blue liquid)
Here you go.

Freddie(taking the enhancers and putting the viles in his jacket pocket)
Thanks,well I better get going.

Then Freddie exited out the back.

Then he popped the top off a vile and downed it.

Then he threw the empty container in the garbage can.

And suddenly he felt the familiar crackling of his bones,it was working.

Then he decided to go get some practice in but after he'd try to eliminate the girl again.

He smiled as he got back to his apartment and lifted a huge 500 lb. barbell then he bent it like playdo.

That girl was as good as dead.

ACT 3

EXT. MOTORCROSS FIELD

Shelly fixed up her motorcycle after school. She always worked through pain.

But why couldn't she get what happened to Drake out've her head? They were just friends...weren't they?

Suddenly she heard footsteps and looked up and saw three very familiar faces. Jacob,Rachel,and Becca.

Shelly then got out from underneath her bike covered in oil and her white tanktop stained with oil as well.

Shelly(wiping some sweat from her forehead)
What's up guys?

Jacob
We just stopped by to see how the bike was coming. But ladies if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go get a soda that busted ac at school today has been making me thirsty every 30 minutes and I'm out've school now!

Then Shelly smiled as Jacob walked off.

Then she glanced at the other girls they seemed a bit happy yet sad at the same time.

Shelly(wiping some oil and grease from her hand with a gray rag)
You two have been oddly quiet. Do you two have something to tell me?

Becca and Rachel glanced at one another before Becca began to talk.

Becca
Well...we saw Drake earlier this morning he was looking pretty good.

But then Rachel cut in.

Rachel
But we caught him awake.

Shelly smiled.

Shelly
So how is he...back to normal yet?

Becca(smirking)
As normal as the Drake I know.
But they had him on jello.

Shelly(laughing)
Ooh it wasn't the green stuff was it?

Rachel(fighting not to laugh)
Yeah.

Then the three smiled and laughed for a few moments.

And Shelly had to admit she was feeling a bit better now.

But then it got hot again as the sun came back out.

Shelly(wiping some fresh sweat from her face)
Man today is a real scorcher.

The others nodded. Rachel was fanning herself with her hand and Becca was gulping doen a bottle of water she had with her.

Suddenly Shelly heard something coming from the direction Jacob had walked off.

Then she heard footstpes again.

She spotted the guy first he had spiked brown hair and he was dressed like aregular motorcross racer onlt without the helmet.

Suddenly she remembered that face she was gonna have to race this guy over the weekend for that award winning race.

Just then he spotted her and walked up fast and pulled out a shotgun.

Shelly and the other girls were shocked and the guy Shelly remembered as Freddie grabbed the blond and glared at the other girls the shotgun held to Shelly's temple.

Freddie(triumphantly)
I finaly got you blondy. It sure took long enough and how's your buddy is he dead yet,I never miss even if I hit the wrong person.

Suddenly Shelly struggled but Freddie clamped a hand over her mouth and put the gun to her temple harder.

Becca and Rachel were moving away toward a phone but Freddie turned the gun toward them but shot the phone and it blew with a sudden *Boom!*.

After that attempt the girls grew a bit more afraid.

Freddie then smiled at them holding the gun back to Shelly's head and his hand still clamped over her mouth.

Freddie
Sorry ladies blondy is my guest. And if you even try and come after me before we leave she's a goner. Not that that matters anyway.

Then Freddie turned and he pushed Shelly into a dark green truck and he stepped in after he waved bye bye to the girls amiling.

And soon after the start of engine the truck was speeding away.

Little did anyone know Jacob escaped the gunshot becasue it'd hit a box instead in the garage.

And he made it out quick enough and at least he knew who they were up agianst now.

Looks like Freddie Lewis really wanted to win that money. But according to the internet he probaly needed that money due to his condition his bones were slowly falling apart due to some weird disease.

Anyway he cleared his thoughts and he found a shocked Becca and Rachel outside.

They smiled as they saw him and they hugged him.

Then Jacob broke the silence.

Jacob
Come on girls we gotta go get help,I don't know how much longer Shelly will last.

Then Rachel and Becca nodded and the trio ran away from the field heading for the city.

Jacob hoped that they didn't get help too late. If they were he wasn't sure he could ever forgive himself.

ACT 4

INT.HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM-LATE AFTERNOON

Alicia waited for a moment as Carlos walked out with Drake.

She couldn't help but cry with joy seeing him but she was also suprised.

Alicia
Honey I thought we were just visiting,not taking him home.

Carlos(smiling)
Well the doctor said somehow the wound was fully healed he can't explain it. Anyway at least Drake can suprise his friends.

Alicia
I guess your right. But are you sure your alright Drake?

Drake(smirking)
Yes mom but if I drop right here I'll know you were right.

Alicia couldn't help but smile.

Alicia then hugged Drake after she got up.

Then Drake walked outside with his parents.

Drake had to admit his shoulder still hurt a bit nbut not as bad as before.
But he was as suprised as his parents and the doctors about the wound. Had his powers kicked in?

But then he was caught off guard as he felt the cool breeze outside and the heat.

Drake
Another scorcher huh?

His parents smiled.

Drake
I was right again,sweet.

Then his parents got in the van and Drake followed.

And soon they were home and Drake layed down on the couch in the living rooom.

INT. CONRAD LIVING ROOM

After a moment or two though he was pretty bored and he had already channel surfed but not much was on.

Replay of the baseball game,football,basketball,some cartoons,sci-fi channel movie of the week,and a rerun of Smallville or two.

He smiled as he watched Smallville for a second. It was funny how sometimes he felt like Clark.

Ooh todays was a....season 2 rerun or so...Red he thought it was called.

But then he shut off the tv and layed back down.

then he picked up his cell phone.

Hopefully Jacob had his cellphone so he could hear the good news.

He quickly dialed Jacob's cell number then waited afew moments until Jacob picked up.

Jacob
Hello?

Drake
Hey buddy,I'm out've the hospital.

Jacob
Wow,great...

Drake
Woah buddy what's up?

Jacob
Man I have bad news,Shelly's been....kidnapped.

Drake
What! When did it...I mean.....

Jacob(sighing)
It happened when me and Rachel and Becca popped by to pay her a visit at the track then I got attacked by Freddie Lewis and.....

Drake(interupting)
Wait you mean that racer?

Jacob(continuing)
Yes,he tried to shoot me but luckily he missed me and hit a box I was hiding behind instead. Anyway when I got outside and thought it was safe Shelly was gone and Rachel and Becca were scared to death so we tried to get the cops but their busy but said they'd look into it. But man I'll be honest with you,I'm worried,Shelly might not make it home.

Drake
Don't worry man I think I know someone who can help. Well can't talk now I gotta do a little digging too.

Jacob
Wait what guy? Hello? Drake?!

Drake had hung up and he went to his room and found some black clothes.

These would work nicely for a hero suit or at least a quick one.

Then he made a mask from a left over Zorro mask and a black and white sweater as a shirt and he pulled out some black jeans and he suited up.

But it was missing something.

He pulled off the sweater and took out a sharpie.

Then he carefully drew an S across the white circle on the sweater.

It was thin and dagger like and hey it worked.

Then he slipped the sweater on and placed his makeshift mask on his face and adjusted it a bit.

Then he pulled the info he was waiting to print out and he looked it over and placed it in his pocket after folding it a few times.

Then he glanced around his room.

Should he tell his parents an excuse or something like that?

But then he pipctured Shelly in trouble.

No he'd be back when he got back and if he got in trouble so be it.

Then he opened his window and leapt to the ground and pulled the paper from his pocket and decided on a game plan and ran off as the sun began to go down.

ACT 5

INT. FREDDIE'S APARTMENT-NIGHT

Freddie smiled at Shelly gun to her head.

Freddie
So blondy would you t least like a final request?

Shelly(angrily)
I wanna know why the hell your doing this!

Freddie
Well I ned that money from the race. You don't know what's it's like to live in pain and only some enhancers can ease it.

I want to live again. With that money I can get the operation I want and be healed.

Shelly began to sweat,this guy was a bit..nuts. But she pitied him too what a way to live.

Suddenly Shelly heard something at the window behind her.

She turned and Freddie pointed the gun at her.

Freddie
What is it?

Shelly(nervously)
Someone outside......

The Freddie pointed the shotgun away from her and walked outside.

EXT. FREDDIE'S APARTMENT-ALLEYWAY IN THE BACK

Freddie walked around the outside shotgun at the ready. Suddenly he heard a trashcan fall over.

Freddie tunred but suddenly his gun flew clacking to the ground then he stared into the dark suddenly a masked figure walked out.

Drake smiled seeing he had spooked Freddie.

Suddenly though Freddie ran forward with his fists bared.

Drake was wondeinrg what he was doing he could block that.

Suddenly he hit Drake.

Drake grunted and fell to the ground.

God that punch felt like being hit by a car.

Drake then coughed up some blood on the ground.

Suddenly he was knocked over again when Freddie kicked his masked face.

Drake was on the concrete breathing hard blood trickling from his mouth and nose and his sweater was stained with blood now.

But then he saw Freddie stopping and he grabbed his leg and pulled causing Freddie to fall to the street and suddenly he began convulsing.

Drake struggled to his feet and stared at Freddie.

As he shook Freddie pulled out another vile and gulped it down still shaking but suddenly he screamed

Freddie
Ah!!!!!!!

And strange bone like protrusions sprouted fomr his skin painfully.

Suddenly after a few moments he layed on the street.

Oh my God! Drake thought as he stared at he fallen person,was he dead?

Suddenly Freddie got up and stared at himself in a small pool of water.

Fredie (slams the puddle cracking the sidewalk)
No!!!!!

Then he turned and stared at Drake darkly.

Freddie
You,you made me take that stuff,it's your fault I'm a monster!!!!!

Freddie dove at Drake but Drake bent low and used his feet to throw the skeletal monster off of him into a metallic pole.

Then Drake bent it to snare him and it worked.

Freddie screamed and struggled but he was stuck.

Then Drake walked inside the home and motioned for the door to open and it slid open easily.

Drake saw Shelly inside as he stepped into the darkened room.

Shelly froze in her seat and he walked in.

And then he used a quick hand gesture and it snapped part of the rope so she could get out.

Then Drake spoke rough. Good thing he'd been working on something of a Batman voice.

Drake...Shadow
Hello miss,are you alright.

Shelly got up and looked at him suspiciously.

Shelly
Who are you?

Shadow
A friend,now I suggest you waiit for the police miss...

Shelly(smirking)
Please call me Shelly,and here is something for all the trouble.

And Shelly kissed him.

But Shadow stopped it.

And he glared at her with his red eyes and smiled.

Then he heard sirens.

Luckily he'd tipped off the cops before he came here. The things a hero does. Drake thought.

Then he turned to Shelly.

Shadow
Well Shelly it's been fun and I hope you won't be afraid of the dark anymore becasue I'll be there.

Then Shadow leapt out a window leaving a breathless Shelly in the room as the police rushed in.

Shadow took off his mask outside and he smiled up at the building as he walked toward his house.

Then he thought about how fun tonight was.

Maybe this was what he could do with his life and maybe that's what these powers were for. Saving lives. And hey if a boyscout like Clark Kent and a playboy like Bruce Wayne could do it so could he.

He smiled as he walked on. But he also prayed his parents were asleep.


Shelly was feeling very tired when the police got her home. Luckily Amelia the maid was still up and let her inside.

But Shelly ignored the questions from the house staff and went into her room.

INT. SHELLY'S ROOM

Shelly layed on her bed staring at pictures of her birthday parties and such and a few cards from her parents once in awhile.

She sighed normally she be glancing over her parents cards a few more time wondering if they cared about now.

It's just tonight was different.
That guy that had saved her seemed so familiar also he was something special.

She smiled in spite of herself. She was just glad Freddie was locked up in a psych ward.

But she had to admit she wasn't afraid of the dark anymore.


Sorry if this finale wasn't too good I need to stop doing Shadow so I can come back to it fresh :)

Hey sorry it took so long for me to get round to this one. I think this is my favourite episode so far, great stuff, I especially love the end with Shelly and Drake. It's really cool.

I'd really wish for more back story on each character though. Also I wish you'd have more on Freddie's character as well though i like what you did with him at the end. Overall i think this is awesome, i love the mood of it all and Drake's really cool in this one and I love Shelly but i think these episodes could do with a little lengthening, add a few scenes in there that isn't to do with the immediate storyline but more with character relationships or something. Like remember in X-ray with chloe and lana becoming friends, I'd love to see little things like that added in here and there, that sort of relationship building.

As for the girls, i can definitely see a femme vibe when i pictured the scene in my head, though very light cause the scene was a bit too short, more one on one scenes would be nice, and since you suggested we do some femme fics for this series it'd be cool to have more info, more of a feel for all of them. And we definitely need more info on rachel i think, i wanna see more mutants too.
