Maybe he had to pee?
He probably noticed something in Lex's body that told him Lex would get out of it. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense.

He was probaby hoping that Lex would die.

Lex didn't even do anything wrong. He was creating the vaccine to help people, not kill millions. That's Brainiac's plan. The Clark/Lex scene at the end says it all. Even though Lex had an edge to him, everything that he said was right, making Clark look like the bad guy. That's why Clark just walked away.

He was like "Oh crap! I'm too late! wait...he just moved...I should go, letting Lana tell him about my visit, and raising questions as to why I never showed up!"

I wish Clark would just punch someone 3 cities away because I am tired of how they are making Clark to be a big pu$$y.

I just laughed when Clark did that, because honestly he couldn't defend himself.

I thought that when Clark arrived, Lex was just waking up and so Clark knew he'd be okay so he hit the road!?!? I can't believe they would have our future Superman just callously leave the scene - even if it is Lex.

He remembered that he had to go break into Lana's dorm room again and sniff her panties some more.

I just think that he left him there because he didn't want Lex seeing him there and getting suspicious.

Well Clark cant always get there in time to for somebody to saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave them. As fast as he is, which is faster than a um speeding bullet which goes 672 miles per hour, being faster than a speeding bullet is never fast enough. but also if he shows up ontime it would raise questions once again about clark and really lex is suspicious as it is. if clark had been seen there lex would be asking too many questions.

I think I have it now.
Lana told Clark where the lab was, Clark arrived looked around the camera went to Lex, he's coming to but I didn't see Clark spin off nor how Lex got out. The next scene is at the mansion with Clark asking Lex if he was ok.
Is it possible that the things we didn't see were, Lex comes to sees Clark and closes his eyes, Clark gets him out and then he leaves. We really do not know at this point how Lex got out.
It would also explain how he knew that Clark had gone to Lana's room.
It puzzled me when Lex said that Lana had called him to say Clark was caught in her room. More than likely he called her and accused her for telling and she was forged to tell.
I think Lex has known for a long time about Clark. Anyone that intelligent can't be that stupid right :p

I'm gonna go with Clark x-rayed Lex's body and found something.
Clark can't pull the "I was in the neighborhood" excuse.

We didn't actually see Clark leave and that was left up for grabs as to what happened. Lex was shown as coming to but it's a mystery at this point.

Wow. I really didn't think too much on that scene. It doesn't make sense if Clark left him there out of hatred because of the so many times before he has saved Lex without liking him. I agree with the theory on he saw that Lex was waking up so decided to leave.... however UnClark-like that is.... ?

Its been five seasons now, Clark needs to get rid of his insecurities and I think leaving lex there was the right thing to do. To many people are noticing Clark now. The scene in the elevator shaft with Lionel made Lex even more suspicious. If Clark would have shown up and saved Lex, right after talking to Lana, that would have added to the suspicion. He saw Lex was ok, so the decision to leave was right.

Actually, we have no clue what happened after they cut the scene. We saw Clark speed, but where? We know he did see Lex wake up and move. But to me, the scene at Lex's house seemed to indicate that Lex knew Clark was at the lab. It was a very confusing cut, but I think you could fanwank it however you want. I choose to fanwank it that Clark got Lex out. Until the show gives me definitive evidence otherwise (which it won't), I'm comfortable with my interpretation. :)

I also find it very odd that Lex had no problem really sticking it to Clark at the end. Like Lex was afraid of nothing. Maybe he really is being controlled by Zod or something. Also, I wonder if Lex saw Clark speed off.

I did not see Clark speed off. I went back to watch it again. Fine speeds off and in speeds Clark, Lex is kind of coming to and the next scene is the mansion. They left it to our imagination and by this thread I see they did a good job ;)

I'm going to choose to believe Clark got rid of the danger so that Lex could safely escape, like he did in Bound when he put out the fire. Originally I assumed he rescued Lex, but that wouldn't make sense given their conversation in the mansion. I refuse to believe Clark simply left Lex to die so he could protect his secret as that would have been the antithesis of what a superhero would have done. Clark can be self-absorbed, not that self-absorbed.

I also think there have been scenes cut out of this episode. In the trailer, Brainiac was supposed to say "You're too late KalEl". I never saw that scene in this episode, and Brainiac tells Clark that in the same lab.

Although we did see Lex coming around he might have passed out again or been too loopy to understand what was going on but they did make it appear as though he might have seen Clark do something or at least been aware Clark had been there doing something.

that may have been a clip from next week's Vessel...
it wouldn't be the first time TPTB mixed clips from more than one episode into a single promo
look at the trailer they did that combined Fade/Void/Mercy... :D
