With Lana and Lex ending up together because he broke it off with her. He don't like it either. Hopefully it will help him make the final turn towards becoming Superman. He has been hit with his father's death and now this? Eventually something has to click.

On a side note.... I think it was pretty hilarious how Clark was looking at Lana's picture after finding out then tossing it away.

you're right and he chose to save Lana and now he has to deal with the consequences. Although this has been a learning process of sorts he's going to have rid all feelings for Lana in order appreciate his potential. Clark has made some big mistakes this season.
