Okay, so at the request of at least two people (both whose screen names have Lex in them… eerie!) I have decided to post up some of my photoshop stuff/avatars. My avatars are pretty bland, but I do have some nifty animated numbers, so I’ll share them here. I’ll edit the first post when I want to add something new, and I’ll post about it in the thread as well. (Note: I’m not going to add thumbnail links, mostly because I’m very bad with HTML and all of that, so this is the best I can... for now. Also, I'll be adding some Smallville avatars later, this stuff is all just stuff I had ready made that I could post tonight.)
I hope you like. :) By the way, if someone wants to use an avatar/image, feel free. No need to ask for permission, I’m giving it right here.

I love all of your art! Yipee for DW! The Manips are great :) I really like that Sci-Fi Banner, mainly because Im a shipper for The Doctor and Rose..My favorite avatar is " Have a fanstastic life"..might just have to save a few for later. I love the wallpapers as well! Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing a lot more from you :)

Thanks, Lexgirl. :)
I’ve been using the “Have a fantastic life...” avatar for nearly a year on a different site. I really like it. It’s too bad reducing its size here made it a bit blurry. :(
My favorite is the picture of David with the blue and reddish costume. I like his duds, but I like them so much better with... with a little flair. :D
I’m not huge into shipping, but I do think there’s more going on with the Doctor and Rose than RTD would like to let us think, and the picture that I used in the banner is a rare publicity still of the Doctor standing with his chest to Rose’s back, hand on her shoulder, giving her that look. I’ve only seen it on one site, so I thought I’d use it in the banner.

You're Welcome :)
Yea the files size here does stink but what can ya do?
I definatly think there is more going on with The Doctor and Rose. But I am a fan of the two nontheless. I think a relationship would ruin the show though as much as I would like to see them be together. Now that pic is excellent! I love it! I havent seen it anywhere and its a bit naughty

You haven’t seen that picture, eh? Well here’s a treat for you, then:
Rose and the Doctor… too hot for TV. (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/SpikeRevell/1h.jpg)
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Birthday and whatever other holiday you give people gifts on. :D
I’ve grown up for over 13 years believing that the Doctor is “totally and utterly asexual” (to quote the great Jon Pertwee) so the idea of the Doctor and Rose... it just seems wrong. But all the flirting and that moment at the end of series 1... it all works fine for me. I’m a funny sort. :D
Lexgirl33
03-22-2006, 06:21 AM
Ahh thank you! :D :D :D
Well I just recently got into it so I definatly dont know much about it. Only what I been told and what I have seen. So I will make sure not to debate with you on any accounts about the show lol. I love the flirting between the two for sure though
TARDIS Team
03-22-2006, 06:29 AM
Jon Pertwee (the third Doctor) was the one I pretty much grew up watching, so when in his book and in interviews he said the Doctor was asexual (and shared a fatherly relationship with his companions) I never argued. Of course, having said that, we now have a Doctor who flirts and kisses his companion.
It’s quite confusing for a child... (okay, so I’m 23... but Doctor Who makes me feel like a kid. :D)
Mind you, this is Doctor Who for the masses, not we fan boys, so pay me no mind.
Lexgirl33
03-22-2006, 06:33 AM
 Understandable for a child for sure, but I see now.
Its always nice to chat with a fellow fan of the show :D
TARDIS Team
03-22-2006, 06:45 AM
It certainly is, and it’s always nice to chat with fans who won’t try to impose their own impression of the show upon you. It’s hard enough finding fans of the series in the states as it is (in a few weeks, I hope that’s changed a bit, if the new series catches on) but the one’s you can find tend to be fans of the old school series, and in conversations such as this (involving the Doctor getting his play on, essentially) you’ll find a lot of them ready to draw first blood to defend the idea that the Doctor is a Ken doll (which can’t be true, of course, as the very first Doctor’s very first companion was his own granddaughter.)
You wouldn’t believe the arguments over whether or not Susan is actually the Doctor’s granddaughter or if she’s just a younger Time Lord who refers to the Doctor as “Grandfather” in the same way that the Japanese culture uses words that translate into brother, sister and grandfather to show respect.
Mind you, we’ve kind of hijacked an art thread and turned it into a Doctor Who discussion, but I suppose that’s fine, as most of the art is Doctor who related thus far (I need to get my Doctor/Oswald and the Band image up... I love that one.)
I’m not sure how many people have seen this photo manipulation, but there is a fairly popular manipulation out there that is from the assassination of Oswald (the man arrested for assassinating President Kennedy.) In the manipulation, the situation has become Oswald rocking out on a microphone, the gunman holding a guitar, and a man to the left (unsure who he is) playing a keyboard.
Well I took it one step further... and now the 9th Doctor has joined the fray. After all, based on ‘Aliens of London’, we know he’s not one to miss a photo opportunity. ;)

Night, Lex girl. :)
By the way, I'm currently working on some other Doctor Who stuff, but my Smallville stuff is coming along so slow... I guess I can get away with just dropping some WHO stuff for a while [seeing as how there's no Doctor Who fan art section here, for obvious reasons.]

Guys nothing wrong with hijacking ones own thread. As far as I'm concerned the Doctor Who discussion continues with much vigor and flair.
I agree with you on all of those statements. In the short time, I've been involved I've heard that same particular argument from countless other people from the old school Who. I've been hearing arguments about Mickey's role in the show lately and that have really been unnerving me since I've actually grown to like his character.
As for the artwork, I love the explosion promo shot from the first BBC trailer (or at least that's what I refer to it as). I can hear the Doctor talking now in narration :)
Also dig the other stuff :)

After signing off of the internet this morning, I promptly went away and didn’t sleep, but finished working on my most recent wallpaper. Is it my best work? I think not. When you only work on something in your sleep deprived hours, you tend to get lazy (which reminds me -- if all the blacks don’t match, someone let me know. Sometimes, some blacks in the background will come out lighter than others, but my monitor will show it all being solid.)
Anywho, here it is:
Doctor Who versus Smallville – The best shows on TV... (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/SpikeRevell/SmallvilleWho3.jpg)
By the way, does anyone know where I can get some good, high-res Smallville publicity photos and screen captures? My collection is small, thus my tiny Smallville collection.
Doctor Who fans are crazy, especially the old school bunch (yes, I do include myself.) I really like Mickey, though to be honest I couldn’t stand the bleeder until after episode 5, but then that would happen considering they made him so mind numbingly useless. In episode 4 and 5, they really start to give you a reason to like him, and it just builds from there. Based on what I’ve read about series 2, I think we can expect good things from Mickey.
I liked the “Trip of a lifetime...” trailer, and I was gutted that none of the footage of the Doctor running from the flames was used in the actual series. I’m going to work on a longer one that combines different angles of his run, but the one in the avatar I posted is my favorite shot in the whole thing.

Honestly, the artwork is great but I think Doctor Who NEVER ever needs to cross SV since frankly Doctor Who is the superior show. SV would take forever to even get at the level that is Doctor Who. SV has only dragged out what should have been a superb birth of a hero story and turned it into a Clana love fest and a completion ruination of the Superman mythos.
Mickey has continually grown on me since that same point, but I'm eagerly awaiting his trips with the Doctor and Rose in the new adventures.
As for the SV sites, can't mention them but do a search on Yahoo or Google for Screencaps and you'll find plenty of sites.

I agree with eveything that was stated by Derek. I enjoy Smallville for the most part, although its losing my interest slowly. Doctor Who has become one of my favorite shows, if not the top one alongside with Supernatural coming in 2nd. I definalty like the way you cut the promos and layered them. Though the glow around Rose just seems out of place becuase the rest of the characters are just surrounded by black. It just makes her stand out too much. She is the only female so she would stand out on her own. Other than that I look forward to the rest of your work!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting crossing over Smallville and Doctor Who, I just happen to really like both shows and, frankly, I hate having to rotate desktop images. It only made sense, in my twisted mind, that I do a mash-up wallpaper. The shows are both too wildly different to combine them, I think, but I still like the wallpaper. I also don’t think Smallville has ruined the mythos, rather created it’s own... unfortunately, season 4 was one misfire after another, and it seems like they were struggling. The only downside I’ve seen thus far this season is the poor handling of Clark and Lana’s relationship. It started off great, but the second Clark started playing Mr. Secrets with her again, it got boring. Shame, really.
As much as I love Mickey, I can’t say I love the strategy they’ve employed in trying to get the girls to tune in for him. One of the very recent issues of Doctor Who Magazine featured a spread of Noel Clarke photos that would make Maxim readers do a double take. In nearly 50 years, I don’t recall ever having fleshy photos of female companions, so I must say I’m a bit confused by their direction with the issue. Though I wouldn’t complain about some Maxim-style Billie Piper images.
I’ve tried Dogpile (searches Google and everything else) for Smallville publicity stills, but they’re harder to come by than the Doctor Who stuff (aside from John Glover’s website, bless him.) Why is it we can’t discuss sites that feature them here? I’ve read the forum rules, but I don’t recall it being a taboo (rushes off to re-read.)
Lexgirl, I thought about the glow... and in the end decided to take artistic license and leave it in. I was going to leave a halo around the Doctor as well, but it got problematic. The main reason I wound up leaving it was because I tried removing it and doing so around her hair was nearly impossible to do without erasing some of her hair (though I might work on it more tonight.) I was far more successful in removing problem areas around Lex and Lionel (photo edits of Lex have proven to be the surge of my life, that bald head of his wanting to suck up whatever color happens to be around him in the frame.)
Despite the waning interest in Smallville these days, I still really like that wallpaper, and am using it now. It always gets people’s attention. ;)

Don't get me wrong on SV, I've been watching the show since the beginning and even have been staying pretty heavily up to date on it, but I it's become a train wreck and I mean it literally. Yes, I still watch but it has completely past the mark. They've already pulled so many lightswitches on Clark Kent just to make him hero to be it's just plain sickening to see. Lex is a great character but they don't know how to use him and....I could go on for days about how awful the show has become, which I've actually done more than enough complaining on this site to fill a book actually.
I haven't seen the latest issue of DWM.
Still looking forward to more artwork :)

Not alot of exciting stuff, but some stuff all the same.

Some images below, all of which were done on request for other folks (most of them who enjoy online role play.)
Lex Luthor’s demons (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/SpikeRevell/Lex1.jpg)
Don’t ask for a history on this image, it was a quick thing for a friend, for an online fantasy RPG game.

Again, done for someone’s online RPG sessions.
Doctor Who – Fake novel cover (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/SpikeRevell/Genus3-1.jpg)
This is a fake novel cover I did for a script-to-story conversion I was doing from a Doctor Who fan film script I and a friend wrote a few years back. It may be bland, but it served it’s purpose (the building/street in the photo was to be a location in the fan film, and it was one of the major locations for the story. The picture is of a famous (haunted) hotel in Jefferson, Texas.)

Yeah, while testing the link, I noticed that the novel cover wasn’t working, so I hastily fixed it. :)
That Lex picture is a favorite of mine, as simple as it is, and I’m glad someone noticed the enhanced colors (I went to pains to make his eyes much more blue than they actually are, but it doesn’t show as well as I’d have liked.)
My favorite thing about the Metal Gear Solid edit (and the reason I actually added it) is the way I managed to remove Jack’s right eye. He does lose it in the game, but the picture I had was from real early on. The black hole eye worked much better than I thought it would. I also liked taking a real photo of the Whitehouse and trying to make it look un-real.
I tried to make the book cover fit in with the new line (I have The Clockwise Man and Winner Takes All so far. Good books.) It does fit in, but I altered the BBC Books logo to SRP Books and took liberties with the fonts/placement of text (I wish I could find the new series book cover font, I love it.)
Lex has demons... again. (http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g53/SpikeRevell/Lex2.jpg)
Here’s an alternate take on the Lex photo... I’ve got even less explanation for this one than I do the original edit.

Isn’t it, though? Online role-play games tend to get a bit bizarre, me thinks. :D
You know, watching Doctor Who right now, I wonder what the Shadow Proclamation his, and further more, what does convention fifteen address? I smell the need for an fan fiction take on the Shadow Proclamation, something in the same vein as the fan-written Space Corp. Directive guides you see for Red Dwarf.
How did the Nestene Consciousness get the TARDIS into its layer? That just suddenly struck me. One minute the TARDIS was on the street, the next it is underground.
Weird.

Just to keep it coming a bit... here’s another online RPG image, this time of the 10th Doctor. I’m actually really proud of this one, if for no other reason than the fact that I LOVE the red overcoat and the blue pinstripe color changes. I’d love for David to sport those colors in the actual show.

Lex: You’d be stunned to know how much junk I’ve got just sitting on my hard drive, computer art I’ve never shared and, until I came here, never planned to. I’m more-or-less sharing it with you two, as there aren’t a lot of people rushing to see what I do. ;)
There's not much more already done that I feel is worth sharing, though I might re-tinker some of it and put it up. I'm currently trying to get rid of that halo around Rose in the Smallville/Doctor Who wallpaper, and then I'll start on original stuff, and the art will start coming in less often.
Incidentally, there’s too much Lex in here (screen name wise, I mean.) Isn’t there something else I can call you two? People on most sites call me Jeans (for obvious... or maybe not so obvious reasons.) :D

The idea that they don’t know where to take Lex is funny to me, because Al Gough and Miles Miller claim they know exactly where they’re going with it, and in fact I got the impression that his path is pretty clear cut, if a bit rocky
You know, I’m disappointed with my avatar, because in the gif program I used to make it, the two Doctors are flashing so fact they almost look like one person... online (and in IfranView) it’s flashing a whole lot slower. Oh well, I still like it. :)

Actually, Rose, I wanted it even faster. I set each frame to last for 0.2 seconds, but Firefox slowed it down so that each frame is lasting longer than I wanted. It was originally flashing so fast that the two doctors almost looked like one person, but it's all good.
By the way, what are the rules on this site when it comes to music videos made from TV shows? I assume you would know, Derek, and I'm in too much of a hurry to check. I've got some Doctor Who/Buffy/Angel videos I'd like to host and post links to here (doing music videos is one of my big past times.
