Lois and Clark know Chloe must be alive, so they work together to find her. But what do Lex and Lois's father, General Sam Lane, have to do with things?

I just this episode again tonight on DVD. It's a good episode and I love the Clark and Lois interactions. I also liked Lois meeting Lana for the first time. Go LOLA!!

Lois:: 'We just took a shower'

Clark: 'Showers, we took two seperate showers'

Jonathan: 'At noon?'

I loved that scene. This episode had a good many comic breaks that I felt was needed after the darkness of season 3 and the season opener.

The shower scene was hilarious. Martha's face was priceless.

I agree. The shower scene was Hilarious. But, I didn't care for much else. The villain was a bit too T2, Lionel is stabbed in the shower and then, he's FINE. Also, Chloe's survival was a bit of a cop out. Not saying I wanted her killed off--far from, in fact. But I wish they had found a smarter way of bringing her back into the story, as opposed to the 'oh, she moved quick in the house to the basement,' idea. A bit too serial-esque.

I thought Gone was a huge letdown. It had general Sam Lane (which was a bonus) and the shower scene . Other than that it had nothing. The fotw was just terrible.

It was predictable Chloe would return. Crusade was a good season opener imo but gone didnt do anything for me.

The shower scene was the only thing that I liked in this episode, it was hilarious. The rest I really don't remember too well. And wow, is it just me or are alot of these season 4 episodes kind of forgettable? :p

I loved the shower scene and the interrogation afterwards. Both TW's and ED's comedic delivery/enunciation on "showers" and "way to go" were so funny! :rotfl:

I actually really liked this episode.

I wish they would've done more with Sam Lane though.

True the shower scene was great. But I liked watching Lois and Clark work together. I really liked the end when they rescue Chloe and Lois says something to the effect of "I am so glad I found you" And Clark says very puzzled "I?" That to me was classic ;)

funny they had a shower scene with Clark and Lois and also that's where lionel got stabbed. What if they called the episode "shower" lol. So why did Lionel get stabbed and who did that? I figure Lex , to keep him from getting to Chloe but not kill him.

I agree with NotTodayPete the scene with Lionel getting stabbed cofused me also. Is it ever explained who did this and why?

Hey All

Was bored the other day so watched some of the eary episodes of season 4. In particular the 402, and noticed when clarck and lois break into the general office (lois's dads) theres a picture on the desk.

I noticed that the pictures doesnt have lois's sister in. OK maybe it was before she was born, but a bit odd surely he wants a pic of both his daughters.

And lous's mum died of smoking well apperently cigarettes (reffered to in this scene). Slighlty odd that lois smokes then isnt it. Because in the previous episode she refers to trying to quit.

Small things i know but just annoyed me a bit.

I think the reason why they didn't put Lois's sister in the picture is because they were trying to focus on Lois in that scene or they didn't know that they were going to bring Lucy on the show. I think it said in one episode that she smoked because she was rebelling when she was a teenager.

Lucy was complaining about his father. Remember ?

She said , he did not want me around. He wanted you instead. Maybe he does not really wanted her :P

I am joking of course. I am sure there is an explanation for that. Maybe there is another picture and we didn' t see it.

Or maybe when Lucy born was born, her mother died. So maybe he did not put Lucy' s picture, because it reminds the death of his wife.. (oops that sucked a lil' bit :) )

does anyone know who played the young Lois Lane in that picture?

Ok, I figured Id ask this question here, because its concerning this episode. Now we all know Superman never kills, but I noticed that the guy Trent ( liquid metal guy) died when he was electrocuted and go heat vision on his back at the same time.

I can think of a few times when Clark has killed on this show.

What about that guy in Run for instance? You telling me the guy didnt get seriously messed up after Clark tossed him thorugh the roof and the dude landed in that trailor van thingy or whatever it was the guy landed in. If that didnt kill him it probably would still hurt now.

Clark also killed in "Visage"

This was one of my least favorite episodes. Lois got on my nerves in this one majorly. She doesn't always but sometimes she does and this was one of the cases. When Clark adn her were investigating and fighting, it just didn't feel like the same Smallville to me. When Clarks parents found them in the shower (bathroom) I could see them trying to be a bit more believable toward Clark when he's trying to explain the truth instead of looking angry and like they won't accept his word for it. The anger Clark feels at Lex is annoying, as any reasonable person would see Lex doing a favor here with keeping Chloe alive and that he's forced to keep the plot a secret. The less people knowing, the better and less danger others are in. You'd have figured there'd been more relief when they found Chloe too. I dont know, the story just seemed stale and everyones actions and reactions watered down.

Why in the hell was Lionel stabbed in the shower? That still makes no sense to me.

My guess is that it was Lex that had it done. Lionel had threatened Lex earlier about not having a moment's peace and so maybe Lex hired someone to kill his father in prison. Also, the line at the end where Lionel tells Lex "don't wound what you can't kill" shows Lionel thinks it was Lex as well.

Yeah thats the most plausible explanation.

My original theory was Lionel had turned down some sort of rendevous with the knife wielding guy.

Well in aus this epi just aired- we are way behind :(. Anyways I was watching this epi wondering whats with the showers in season 4, lol lois, clark, lionel, lana! Though I admit that part when clark goes we took seperate showers was quite funny and how clark referred to lois as bossy! That could go under the clark dorky moments lol just the way he sounded like whiny, lol. Clark seems different in season 4 so far more uptight.

Mistryman
04-14-2006, 06:11 AM
Yeah i agree about the clark being uptight. One of my friends was watching a couple from season 4 last year when i was watching them and she had never seen smallville before. She was like how come chloe, clark and lana never joke around.

I was like, ye this season is a bit different with regards to clarks behavour. I think its the development of his character, i mean season 3 was a bit crazy for him.

His character seems more balanced in season 5, so far.

What I dont understand of this episode is how Lionel knew
about Trent, and how he got his T 1000 abilities..was Kryptonite really responsible?

Where did Trent came from and why was he working for
Lionel???

Lionel got him out of Belle Reeve...He was being paid by Lionel to kill Chloe

Lionel knew about his powers because he refers to him as being a showoff with his powers and that is what got him put in Belle Reeve in the first place...

Lionel knows about EVERYTHING. You'll come to learn that and not ask questions.

the Helicopter scene: were pilot and copilot left after the 2 inf. were dropped. then a third magically appear at the side when they were chasing Lois.

Digging the grave by herself? Will take hours or days 6x3 Sq. feet and 4-3 feet deep. Not a Sweat and where's the Grounds keeper?

the Deleted Scene: I wonder what was going on clark's head.
But I hope there is a scene where all 3 girls get together and meet. Hopefully in eps. 3

Yeah the knife stabbing could be a set up why he was grabbing his chest in Episode 4.06 Transference or for the line "Don't Wound what you can't Kill" I think it falls to the Plot holes.
It Couldn't be Lex though; could it be the Swann Foundation?

TackleDummy8
05-06-2006, 12:55 PM
Its not the swann foundation, and as for the three meeting, lana meets lois, and lois and chloe are cousins, so they already know each other.

RedQ

something to the same effect of the Deleted Scene, where it's the New Season and ALL four are in one room.

The AWE and affect to the Audience like "Oh, boy... 3 Girl friends what a ladies man"

TackleDummy8

yeah they're all in the same room at many points in the future.

this episode was ok. Chloe's return was a bit too fast and too badly explained. I also really wanted to see Chloe in court (I loved the deleted scene for this eppy!). The look on Chloe's face when Clark rescues her though...so perfect.
God, and the coldness in Clark's eyes and voice when he's confronting Lex and is told she's dead....
great acting by Welling.
I was disappointed in the villian (T-1000, anyone?) but the fight scene between him and Clark was great.
Overall, a pretty good episode but not the best, you know?
I can't believe I forgot the best part: the Lois and Clark shower scene! That was worth the episode alone! :rotfl:

This for me is one of the WORST episodes of Smallville. Infact, I have it on now and just want to turn it off. Its that bad to me.

Lois gets on my nerves big time in this episode.

What was the point of the 1st helicopter thing? Really? Those guys were going to stun Clark and Lois? Lois beats up a soldier, PLEAE, she kicks the guy on the top of the head, he has a HELMET ON! But it still knocks him out. HAHA

The grave scene was stupid beyond belief. Like someone said earlier. Who digs a grave by themselves? Did you see what she is wearing? Not to mention that the grave was very shallow. Etc.....

Actually I could go on and on and on. But, every scene is terrible. I gotta go turn it off.

The only thing I liked about this episode was the Lois*Clark scenes, if L*C werent there I just skipped on by. I thought they were so cute together and though I think they are really messing up the Superman mythos with having her there I must admit they are cute together. I also love the naked Clark back we got to see when Lois was sneaking out.

^Lois and Clark were definitely a highlight of the first four episodes of this season.

I think it is interesting that Lana asks Clark if he believes in destiny at the end of the episode. That Lana is in the throws of something that is destined to happen to her from the time of her ancestors. This really mirrors Clark and his journey in an interesting way that I never saw before. And rather than inserting Lana into Clark's destiny... it's like their destinies intersect at this point.

I never notices this before. Probably since I generally just hate the whole Lana-as-witch story line and the stones. LOL! But this makes it very intriguing... I think I'm going to have fun re-watching season 4. :)

What did I think of Gone?

I really liked the Clark & Lois scenes, especially when Clark was taking a shower and Lois snuck in. She grabs Clark's shirt. Clark exclaims, "Hey! That's my shirt," and Lois humorously responds to Clark with, "It's the only thing I could find that was clean."

Another scene I liked was the Lois, Lana & Clark scene where Lois was humble enough to tell Clark that Lana saved her life.

I also loved the scene with Lana & Clark down at the caves. I loved these Lana and Clark quotes:

Lana: It's funny, isn't it? After everything we've been through... I thought it would take longer for us to get over it.

Clark: Us?

Lana: You and Lois?

Clark (with a funny expression on his face): Lois? She's bossy. She's stuck up, she's rude. I can't stand her.

Lana: The best ones always start that way. Do you believe in destiny?

Clark (thinking about his destiny): I don't want to.

Lana: But you can't escape it, can you? Even if you don't know what it is, yet.

Very classic Lana & Clark quotes. I'll never forget this episode.

What is the name of the music played when Lionel gets stabbed? Such a great scene, useless, but perfectly directed.

Edit: I found out, it's "Leo Delibes - Lakme - Flower Duet (Maria Callas)"

If Chloe testified in this episode to have Lionel put away, why would he be having Thanksgiving Dinner with her in season six (episode "rage")?

Confused.

DisneyBoy

Don't forget that Chloe was also the one he ran to prior to his death in Season Seven.

The writers really lost track of this relationship. Chloe's distrust of Lionel really never went anywhere.

I just saw this entire episode for the first time today, and found it pretty darn good. I disliked Lois' constant quippy dialogue. It was grating and forced. At least in the premiere she wasn't this intrusive.

Did we ever see Chloe's father again after the flashback in this episode? I really hope they bring the actor back for the wedding this year (season eight).

So Lex was the one who paid to have Lionel stabbed in jail right? Nice revenge, and a good conclusion to the premiere. I much prefer it when they take their time after the season finale getting everything back to status quo.

Shower scene is still the one moment I enjoyed Clois, everything since has been a downward spiral. Also I laughed so hard when General Lane arrives in the barn.
'Hello daddy'
The look on Clarks face and the music, the exact feeling all teenage guys have when a girls father shows up unexpectadly. Brilliant. :P

Why did that guy stab Lionel, an argument over who their favourite composer was?

It was a rather confusing episode, really, and I didn't really like how Chloe was hardly seen at all, considering it was her return episode and all. It wasn't one of the worst this season, but the bad guy seemed a bit like a Terminator rip-off. I don't really feel like Season 4 really hit its stride until episode 5-7 -- I've always been a big fan of those episodes and it gave the actors and actresses a real chance to shine. Still, this episode did one thing that I'm very happy about, and that's return Chloe to the show. :-D

I never could figure out how terminator-guy would deduce that Lois would know where Chloe is based on her digging up a grave, he might have talked to Lionel and been told Lionel's suspicion but the fact that Lois needs to dig up the grave to check should put 2 and 2 together in his head.

I liked this episode but not as much as Crusade.Liked how they introdued gen. sam lane and lois fighting skills were tight as heck. But the FOTW had not enough screen time and was like T2.
