You said you wanted to see a fast paced video, riddled with effects, from me? Well, I did a highlight reel for the NFC Championship game (Seahawks and Panthers) for my latest project, in my class.

I hope this works for you.

Andrew,

I have gotta move the thread to the non S-Ville section.

I will definately check it out though and let you know what I think.

I have got two questions...

1) Was this done via Avid or FCP?

2) For future works, is there anyway to get the MB rate down. This thing is almost 400 MB.. LOL

You are so damn lucky though man. You get to work with whatever material you want. I am jealous. :(

This one was done on Final Cut Express HD.

My teacher doesn't like me doing Smallville vids, because it's really just editing something that's already been edited, but he's lenient. He obviiosly really liked my "Shattered" video. It was the reason I passed the class last quarter.

Man, I would love to see this....anyway we can get a compressed version, because I don't think 400mB downloading on my PC will end well..

I'd love to see this Shattered video too, since if I saw it, I don't remember it...:D

I'll get the Shattered video up, when I can. I'll also get a compressed version of this video up, too.

Andrew,

That was awesome man. I really liked it. Your timing in this one was dead on with the song. I also loved your various uses of speed ups and slow downs. This was the one time that I didn't mind hearing the announcers with the lyrics, because it lets you get caught up in the moment. Great scene selection too. I especially loved how you included the little things like the one scene of the ball going off the guy's helmet from the pass. Little details like that are what make vids like this one great.

You gotta work on getting these vids out at a rate of under 60MB so everyone can see it. People with fast internet like me can see the vids at that high of a rate, even though it takes like 10-20 minutes to download. But people with 56K are never gonna take the time to download a 400 MB file.. LOL

Nice work man.

I just got home from my first lab session on the Avid. Four hours cutting that damn rain forest.. LOL

You had to do that too? LOL. Let me guess, your next two projects are "Trauma Room" and "Eco Challenge," right?

As soon as I buy "Flip 4mac" I will be able to export to Windows media. That will lower the bytes. Right now I only have the trial version, but it's only 50 bucks, so I'll buy it soon.

I'm glad you liked it, man. I, personally, think it should go a bit faster, in places, but I can fix that.

Haven't done the trauma room, but definately done the Eco Challenge.

The main projects that we are working with for right now is the rainforst, eco challenge, and a dialogue scene from News Radio.

Editing is editing, but hearing that damn kid over and over for four hours straight can drive you nuts. The Eco Challenge is a little more bearable because you can have fun with it.

Eco Challenge is much better. More footage to chose from. I should post my "Trauma Room," "Eco Challenge" and "Rainforest." I have a mini DV tape with all my projects from last quarter.
