I'm sure that Alicia will get many votes (thanks guys) but my favorite was Ryan. He wasn't trying to hurt people with his power or use it for his own benefit. I think Clark learned a lot from him in that respect.

Cassandra (old woman from Hourglass) - She will always be my favorite FOTW because of how she tried to help Clark realize his destiny.

Coach Walt - Huge Dan Lauria fan (actor who played the character) and I thought his firestarter ability was cool.

Eric - Great villain. Loved seeing him wreak havock with Clark's powers. He definately is the "Bonecracker". The parking lot scene is still one of my all time favorite scenes.

Ryan - Great character, cool ability, loved the friendship between him and Clark.

Ryan wasn't a meteor freak, was he? It was never established how he got his mind reading abilities. Emily Dinsmore wasn't either, her father was cloning her. I'm not entirely sure if Ian was a meteor freak either... if he and Ryan both were, I don't recall them mentioning it.

Never mind, I'm just babbling. I vote 'other'. Kyle Tippett was one of my favorites.

I voted for Alicia Baker but I would also vote for Ryan.

Ryan is probably the most "human" of all the meteor freaks. His problem seems the most realistic and the 2 episodes that he appeared in were part of the best of Smallville. Very touching. His character shows Clark the weakness of humans and it encourages Clark to move forwards and take a stand to protect these people.

Alicia on the other hand also brought out certain qualities in Clark. Mostly the badness and the lack of restrain but with her death, young Superman learns that there are things that even the most powerful person can't do. Pariah is my favourite episode because Clark finally unleases an array of emotions from the very high to the tragic lows.

I've noticed, as I'm sure everyone else has as well, that the only people who do good things AND have Super powers are those who are completely unrelated to the metors(i.e. The Flash; Aquaman; Cyborg...)

There have been super powered villains that had nothing to do with it, but when it comes to the Meteor freaks...they are all evil, or mentally defective(Alisha)...what's up with that?

they just can't deal with living life with a big secret so they just snap and go insane, or they love Lana and they know they can never have her so they go insane, or they try to take control of various things but Clark intervenes before they can cause too much destruction, and then they either go insane or die.

The phrase "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" springs to mind.

In the case of those unrelated to the meteors, I'd chalk it up to good role models (eg Bart Allen having Wally) or at least being able to ease into their powers as opposed to a sudden and drastic change.

Ryan has never been said one way or the other as having been a meteor freak.

Cyrus had to have been crazy because he thought he was an alien.

Evan from "Ageless" DID kill his dad.

The only ones I would agree with are Jordan Cross from "Hereafter" and Sara Conroy from "Slumber" as they really did try to use their powers for good.

Not all meteor freaks are evil. In fact, both Chloe and Jonathan mentioned that there were probably meteor freaks all over Smallville just trying to lead normal, peaceful lives and not cause trouble to anybody. The reason so many meteor freaks that actually appear on the show are "evil" is because they are doing things Clark has to stop. We aren't as likely to see the ones who aren't doing anything wrong.

That death was accidental. Evan simply went to meet his father and ask for help. Evan's father got freaked out, pushed him away, and accidentally got impaled with a piece of machinery.

Andrea in Vengeance was a superhero meteor freak. She was an angry vigilante superhero who breaks the law and kills the bad guys, so she's more like the Punisher or Wolverine than Clark. But she wasn't evil or insane, just very angry.

Many of the meteor mutants do seem to have mental problems, so it appears that the mutation does affect people's brain chemistry. Some might have strong enough minds to handle the mutation without going insane, others can't, especially the ones that already had some psychological problem before they were mutated.

A vital ingrediant in a story is a dangerous conflict, that's what mutants provide. I guess a benevolent mutant however novel wouldn't provide much conflict unless he's a grouch. And how interesting is that?

The girl from Slumber wasn't a meteor freak I don't believe. I was just watching that episode a few days ago and it was just her dreams, they didn't really know how it happened. She lived in another town when the meteor shower happened. She lost her parents to a car accident and that put her in a coma. But to add to the list of not evil meteor freaks. I don't know if this constitutes as one, but the ghost chick from just last week's episode wasn't a bad guy. She just wanted vengeance on the guy who killed her.

I'm surprised more people havent said Shawn Ashmore/Eric Summers.

I've been a fan of his work in the X-Men movies and the Animorphs TV show, and he played a really good Eric Summers

I stand corrected...I just watched the one with the coma girl...she was effected by the meteors...also, there is that kid that could see peoples deaths...he was a good guy too.

But Ryan? Ryan's powers came from his brain tumor...Lex was all curious about it, he has never been to smallville before that first episode...

ya, ryan isn't a meteor freak. he had a brain tumor that gave him his ablitly. They talk about it in the epsidoe where they find out he has the brain tumor. Lex is talking to Clark about a tumor specialist, and says something like "the type of brain tumor ryan has is said to give the person telepathic powers" and asks clark about ryan. this implies that other people have had this type of tumor also. plus, ryan isn't from smallville, and he had his powers before he went there.

anyways, I chose Eric as my favorite meteor freak. because he's so SMOKIN HOT!!! I love shawn ashmore! He was very good as eric, and i love him in x-men!

I think Emily was a meteor freak because they used kryptonite to clone her. what i am saying is that emily is not a meteor freak but her clone is. on the poll where it says Emily Dinsmore as a meteor freak option, i was referring to her clone. so sorry for the mix up.

Most of the reasons why our Freaks of the Weeks go mad is so recycled eh:

1)Lusts over Lana and can't get her so they use their powers (Greg Arkin, Seth (I think that's his name from Magnetic), Tina Greer (ewww), Jonathan Taylor Thomas' character)

2)Lusts over Chloe and can't get her so....(Sean Kelvin, Adam Brody's character, Jonathan Taylor Thomas' character)

3)Lusts over someone else.....(Eric Summers)

4)Has a weird love for Smallville (Tim the sand guy in Pariah, the photographer guy in Forever, Dawn "I-want-to-be-prom-queen Stiles, Jeremy Creek)

i'm surprised no one has mentioned dawn stiles from spirit. i love her, she was so funny both before and after she died/her spirit left her body. from the minutes she come on screen yelling at chloe and insulting the torch, i'm laughing for the rest of the episode. she also had the best car crash sequence in the whole series, imo.

my second choice would be alicia. even if she was a totally wacko, she was definetly interesting and is one of the few meteor freaks to further the overall plot of the show (by letting chloe in on clark's secert).
