I pick Yeah Remy Zero. You could just tell how excited Pete was when he uttered that classic line. Um not

"REMY ZERO!"

Pete was involved in three of them. Good Ol' Product Placement Pete.

Oh don't forget the shameless product placement for Verizon Wireless with the Get Lex e-mails and the ELEMENTS code in "Sacred"?

Red Spice deoderant (spelling is probably wrong) all over the end of "Jinx".

Lois' sales pitch to the guard in "Solitude" about the new Ford Fusion.

"Now this place needs some serious Lemon Pledge!" in "Extinction"

Pete pumping both the Talon Mix in "Fever" and the infamous "Go Remy Zero!" in "Tempest"

Come On! 'Reckoning" was an obvious movie promotion episode for Final Destination 3 they even had the commercial play during one of the commercial breaks!

"Facade" was an tv placement for Nip-Tuck. It doesn't get any plainer than "Kryp-Tuck.

During "Devoted" it was "Katorade"!

Anyone watching "Forever' has to agree it's horrible movie promotion for House Of Wax!

Lois' Wonder Woman bikini promoted that the adventures of Wonder Woman were coming out on DVD box set.

Product Placement Pete has been shamelessly replaced by Commercial Chloe and a far too commerciallized Smallville.

What happened to "If this town had connections it wouldn't have been named Smallville"?

I can't believe I forgot about the Verizon emails! *hangs head in shame*

I wonder who won that contest?

Um, that was kind of the point of moving the show to Thursday night: it is the most lucrative advertising wise because the movie companies pay big money to have their movies plugged the day before their releases.

Remember last time someone asked who won the Verizon contest? "Look, that's me, that's the back of my head!!!!!" and "Wouldn't it be funny if the people that criticize the show a lot win a trip to the set, then they come back saying how awesome it is?!" Fun thread.

Pete's were the best.

The Remy Zero one always cracks me up, and the Lemon Pledge one was the funniest because he said it right after a Lemon Pledge commercial. That worked out so perfectly.

The Remy Zero line is the all time classic imo. That was the most awkward bit of film I've ever seen.

I vote the Verizon as the worst, especially because of the shameless importance that it had on the season 4, by pulling Lex's arc to a "C-Plot".

The best? Good old Pete, "Yeah Remy Zero!". There is no one like Pete for Product Placement.

The Old Spice Red Zone in Jinx was the best one, IMO. With Green Day music in the background and Clark getting ready for the big game (championship, I think), the entire combination was perfectly executed. I really don't care for product placements. It doesn't ruin the show for me.

I voted for Old Spice Red Zone, because I started to buy if after the product placement in Smallville (how sad really). I don't remember the "Lemon Pledge" line, therefore I will have to rewatch my Smallville tapes.

Acuvue has to be the best in that it is the worst I laughed my butt off when I saw a good 5 second long shot of that box of contacts it was so corny. That had to be the most overt placement in the series all the others kind of blend into the environment this one is just in your face.

Other: Definitely the sneaky subliminal Ding-Dongs placement as Lois falls off that stupid stool in Reckoning.

I loved the Talon Mix one. Pete once again gets stuck with having to promo something, and he just looks embarressed beyond belief when he hands the CD to Clark. And when the camera zooms in for a close up of the CD, I feel embarressed for them all!

I know its not on the list but in 5-13 the acuvue contact lens's was a sneaky little reference but because it was for the angel of vengance thought it was a bit cool.

I agree. It may have been awkward staring at a box of contacts, but it least it did make a certain amount of sense. The Ford Fusion one lasted waaaay too long, but it did play a little into the story (a little).

In "Jinx", not only did Clark have the Old Spice in his locker, but there was also a massive banner over the scoreboard, saying "Old Spice Presents:". Since when does a collosal company sponsor a high school football team in the middle of nowhere?

well most of these are american products so i have no idea what u talkin bout. But my favourite product, if you can call it that, was "Tsun Tzu - The Art of War". i had been meaning to get that for ages, but when i heard lex mention it to his dad it reminded me to get it so i did.

how does everyone remember all this stuff? LOL...
honestly, I never pay any attention to 'product placement'

my friends describe scenes to me and even then it's a 75% chance I'll remember the scene but not the product, LOL!

I liked the Jeep Liberty that Lana used to drive around. I wasn't too fond of the color, but the SUV itself was kind of cute.

Those are all great examples of shameless product placement, but I would also go with "Yeah Remy Zero". It's more than a gold medal. Is their a Lifetime Product Placement Achievement Award? Nothing says 'product placement' like having one of your show's characters giving mad props in an ep. (and the season one finale at that) ... for the band who sings your own show's main theme song ... and the band actually sings it that ep. too!

The silver medal would go to the other Pete-giving-his-props moment to the Talon Mix. When you (ie TPTB) promote your own show's soundtrack in an ep., that's in-your-face product placement.

The bronze would go to the Old Spice Red Zone. With banners that big, it was unabashedly shameless. Combine that with a gridiron focused ep., and you've got your target audience of male 18-34 yr.-old consumers in the household.

I'd give the Acuvue one an honourable mention just because they weaved it into that storyline ... which happened to lead to (by coincidence, you think? ) those Acuvue-sponsored 'Vengeance Chronicles'. It looks like someone's putting their marketing degree to good use on that one.

I'm just waiting for Clark to say something like, 'Hang on, Chloe, let me put on my American Eagle fleece hoodie which I got for sale during their end-of-season promotion from Aug31-Sept5 in all stores nationwide. That's all stores nationwide for a limited time only, Chloe."

I agree...everyone seems to have a jeep liberty in Smallville, going all the way back to season one (Jodi in Craving). And although I LOVE the locker room scene in Jinx with the Old Spice, I voted for "Yeah Remy Zero!" So forced, so awkward, and yet, so good. :)

I loved Lana's Jeep Liberty starting in season three. I realized it was different in the 100th episode and then before the end it was changed again. The car was so her. Why did they have to give her a bigger car? She is a college student.
