Red meteor rock used in the class rings seems to make Clark a bad boy...

This episode marks the first appearance of Red Kryptonite.

This was an excellent episode. I thought it was hilarious seeing Clark's bad side. And not wearing something other than the superman colours and plaid was totally cool, gotta love the leather jacket :D
This episode was also really effective in my opinion, i felt really sorry for Jonathan and Martha having to deal with their "on drugs" rebelious son(althought my pity did waver a bit with the Jonathan shirtless scene for distraction :D), and Pete, Lana, and Chloe all weirded out about his sudden change in behavior.
Long live red K :D

some of my favorite quotes:

clark: "anyone want to go to the bar?"

"i think she looks really hot and i think your dress code, sucks"

"did you know chloe had a birth mark on her cheek?"

"... its not like i'm going to drive it off a bridge"

"ANYBODY ELSE?"

"PETE? what, did it take the whole study group to find me?"

"clark kent and lex luthor, i like the sound of that"

Definately one of my all time favorite episodes. They have done more than a few Red K episodes, and even though Exile is one of my all time favorites, I felt they did a better job handling Red K in this episode. I liked the fact that it seemed like Red K had a point for being there, and not just a device to make the story seem more dramatic. I enjoyed seeing the various stages of Clark's "fall from grace". This episode also has one of the few Clana scenes I like with the kiss in the Talon. The fight scene in the bar is one of my favorite action sequences, and I LOVE the scene where Clark takes off in the Ferarri and leaves his parents in the dust.

There is also the great quotes :

"You're the one who's always telling me to find my destiny. Well one thing's for sure, it's not here in Kansas".

" Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, I like the sound of that".

Is it just me, or is the first disc of the S2 DVD set the best disc ever? It has Vortex, Heat, Duplicity, and Red. Most discs will have two or three good episodes with one of two of them being decent to average. But there aren't many where all four are outstanding.

not exactly season 1 disc 1 had four good episodes and so did season 4 disc 2

S1D1 - The Pilot and Hothead are great, and X-Ray was cool too. But even though Metamorphosis has grown on me a lot, I still wouldn't put it in the outstanding episode category.

Pilot
Metamorphosis
Horhead
X-Ray

S4D2 - This disc has three great episodes, and one lame one in Spell.

Run
Transference
Jinx
Spell

Like I said, in my opinion the first disc of S2 was the only disc to have four truly amazing episodes in a row.

I began watching SV after I saw the ending of this episode. It was because of John Schneider. Although I am a fan of The Dukes of Hazzard, I was sold on SV when I saw Jonathan pull out the chair for Martha at the dinner table.

Tom and Michael's comentary about killed me when I watch this. When Michael was questioning and realized that the dad was the actor who played the Hulk was funny because the others were laughing at him and then Tom oes 'Who's the hulk now @#$%&' was hillarious. Man they should do all the comentaries together.

Actually, the actor who played the Hulk (or at least David Banner) was Bill Bixby and he died years ago. But the actor who plays Jessie's dad does look an awful lot like him.

Red is one of those episodes with the re watch factor!
I never get sick of it.....best scene has to be the bar or when Clark goes to the mansion and has a confrontation with the guy after Jessie. Blind Lionel's reaction to the bullets being fired, and him finding them at the end of the eppy are great too.

Quotes worth mentioning:

Clark: "Why don't you go get us some drinks? we'll all have a good time."
Lana: "You are unbelievable!"

Pete: "Clark Kent, chick magnet. What's wrong with this picture?"

Clark: "When you're through with boring 101, give me a call."

Clark: "You're not my father. You never were."

One of the best ever - love the Red K! Loved when Clark said, "You have to ask yourself, who's more responsible than Clark Kent?" And then we see him speeding away with Lex's car. The interactions between him and Lex were great in this episode. I loved when he sat forward and said, You have no idea what I'm capable of. Lex is like, Really? Why don't you fill me in? With the music in the background - brilliant!

And of course Clark in the loft with the TV and all that stuff, got it from "Eddie's in Metropolis! Open all night!"

LOL Amazing episode

I liked the dialogue of this episode. I liked:

" Clark would have to be on drugs to be on drugs" Chloe to Pete
" I have a hot date tonight, and I wanna rock her world" Clark to Lex

" Besides, I don't think you should be the one giving fashion advice" Clark to the Principal

ps. If you have not listened to the commentary on this episode, you need to. Its funny!:rotfl:

Aye it was freakin sweet for all us Clana fans :D. 'Red' was such an awsome episode. I loved everything about it. The way he acted was different, funny and refreshing. IMO it brought out a side of Clark that he could never bring out when he was normal i.e making his move on Lana. The funniest bit in the whole episode was when Clark and Pete were sitting together in the Talon and they both look at Lana and Chloe sitting on the stool near the counter. Then Clark goes 'Hey Pete, did you know Chloe has a birthmark on her cheek?'. Pete goes 'No she doesn't' and Clark goes 'Not on that cheek' and Pete goes 'Clark man you scoping Chloe?' just plain wonderful. Sweet as ep

OK first things first WOW what an episode!!!
The acting from clarke was class, and the reactions he gets from the supporting cast are what makes it so speical, lana's espiecaly as it explains in the comentary how she is suprised at what shes hearing but loves it!!.

I loved so many things about it, to list it i would need a whole website! Long live the red kryptonite!!

among many others that have been listed like- did you know chloe had a birth mark on her cheek?" Most enjoyable t.v episode i have ever watched ever!!

Ok i have a question when Clark is under the influence of the Red Kryptonite why is it that when he is fighting someone he still throws them around instead of really fighting them. Also when Clark faces someone who is of equal strength he still really doesnt throw a punch.
This is one of my fav episodes. Season 2 was a great season

STFanatic

I am beginning to think that either the writers, the stunt coordenator or Tom Welling don't know how to actually fight.

Even back on the original Star Trek they threw punches, heck, maybe they should study old clips of Hoss (Dan Blocker one of my all time heroes) from Bonanza to learn how.

What did I think of Red?

I liked the episode Red for several reasons.

1) The quotes and lines (I thought that the lines were funny and clever). Some of my favorite lines were when Martha & Jonathan were talking about their son, and Martha said to her husband Jonathan, "I think our not so normal son might be going through some classic teenage rebellion." John Schneider's best quote from Red was "Well, I like dealing with heat vision a lot better than that."

Best Chloe line: "Okay, what planet is that guy from, and what did he do with Clark? (I thought this was ironic that Chloe thought of this statement, since Clark Kent's from another planet).

Best Clark Kent and Lionel Luthor Line:

Lionel (to Clark): Clark Kent. Jonathan & Martha Kent's son? As far as I know, they're good people. Salt of the earth. I'm astonished they'd raise such a blatantly aggressive offspring.

Clark (to Lionel): Well, if you like them so much, I'm sure they'll put you up. I hear they have a spare bedroom, and I know they could use the cash.

Lionel: You've got a lot to learn about tact, young man. But you speak your mind. That's good. It'll take you far.

Clark: Oh, I'm going to the top.

Favorite Pete Ross line: "Clark, are you doing what I think you're doing?"

2) The funniest moment of the episode were:

A) When Mr. Gibbons told Jessie there was a dress code here at Smallville, Jessie replied, "Lame and lamer," and Clark Kent burst out laughing. Mr Gibbons told Clark, "You think that's funny, Mr. Kent?" Clark Kent told Mr. Gibbons he didn't like the dress code and told Mr. Gibbons off. (This was unlike Clark). I thought Clark was hilarious when he said, "I mean, it's her first day. Cut her some slack. Besides, I don't think you should be the one giving fashion tips."

B) Another funny moment was when the U.S. Marshall said to the barkeeper, "Barkeeper, I'm looking for a girl." The Barkeeper had a funny line, "Aren't we all?"

3) Favorite Clark moment in the episode Red:

Clark: I went by Jessie's. They've completely cleared out.

Martha: Well, maybe they've stopped running and have gone to the authorities.

Clark: I just hope she's all right. You know, Dad, the things that I did and I said...I really didn't mean them.

Jonathan: Clark, the red meteor rocks might have affected your personality, but...we've got to face it, those feelings all came from somewhere. Now, I know compared to Lex, we don't have a whole lot around here, but, up until now, I never really thought it bothered you.

Clark: Maybe it does, sometimes. And then I remember what's really important, and none of that stuff matters. No matter how crazy I got, you two stood by me, and that's something all the money in the world can't buy.

Jonathan: But, still, it was a very close call, son.

Clark: I know. When I put that ring on, I felt this sudden urge to tell the world my secret -- Lex, Lana, Jessie...

Martha: But you didn't, Clark.

Clark: I know, but the feelings are still there. It's like I have these two identities, and I don't know which one's the real me.

Martha: The real you is the one who came back to us, and we never had any doubt that you would.

4) Favorite Clark & Lana scene:

Clark: Lana, right now we should concentrate on more important things like...I've had feelings for you for a long time. And I know you have feelings for me too. So I think we should stop pretending.

Lana: So, it this supposed to be some, um, all new Clark Kent?

Clark: Well...that depends. Do you like him?

Lana: Clark, um, what about Jessie?

Clark: Jessie who? You're the one I want to be with.

(Then Clark & Lana have this nice long, and passionate kiss). This was my favorite part.

5) I only wish that Clark Kent didn't treat his father so badly in this episode, especially when he shoved his father around and made Jonathan Kent fall down. Fortunately, Pete Ross came to the rescue and helped Mr. Kent up.

6) What did I think of Tom Welling's performance? Tom Welling was hilarious and a talented actor at the same time. He did everything with perfection, from playing the normal Clark Kent to the aggressive (Kal). As Kal, he spoke his mind and did what he wanted to do; but as Clark Kent, he would think twice before he'd say anything to hurt people. Tom Welling was great in this episode.

John Schneider & Annette O'Toole were also great in this episode, especially when expressing their emotions like anger, happiness, etc. Usually John Schneider is funny in Smallville, but in Red, he was more serious.

John Glover & Tom Welling were great together in this scene where Clark goes over to Lex's house and shoots some pool over there, while mouthing off at Lionel Luthor. John Glover's acting performance was amazing. He amazes me in each episode of Smallville.

This is a great episode, seeing "Kal" instead of Clark. It's really funny.

One of the best moments are in the school when Clark/Kal says to the principal "I think she looks really hot, and I think your dresscode... sucks. Besides, I don't think you should be the one giving fashion tips."

Also in the bar:
"Want a beer, Lana? No, and since when do you drink?"

"Anyone else?!" (After he put the baseball bat on fire with his heat vision)

Great episode. Then again, I always love Red K episodes 'cause it's refreshing - and a sight for sore eyes - to see Clark gone wild.

I absolutely love the Clex scenes. Lex seems so amused with Clark's new personality. The Lex/RedKClark scenes were so good that I felt cheated when Lex told Clark's parents that he was hiding at the mansion. I wanted the two of them to head to Metropolis, I liked the sound of that!!

The Clana kiss was also really hot, it's not that often you see such a passionate kiss with so little movement (only their mouths move).

The commentary is so funny, I wish the actors would do them more often. The ''who's the hulk now''was really funny. And I love when they mention that Martha notices the silk shirt instead of the seadoo, I mean she's gotta be blind.

I have a love hate relationship with this episode:

I love it because:
- this kiss
- tom's amazing acting when he's on red K. Espeicially when he's in the bar and yells "Anybody else!!"
- different style of clothing for Clark and Lana's hair's gorgeous

Hate it because:
- breaks the clana relationship
- Jessie is sooo ugly! Her style, hair (who cut's a pikie fringe with long hair.. yuck), make up and muffin top.. I'm pretty sure there are much hotter blonde girls then whoever acted Jessie.

Did you notice that when Lana was high on the Nicodemus flower, Clark forgave her for the things she did, but when Clark was on Red Kryptonite, Lana did NOT forgive him (she specifically said, "it's not enough anymore" when Clark said he was sorry)? Why is it OK for Lana to mess up but it's not OK for Clark to?

Did you notice that when Lana was high on the Nicodemus flower, Clark forgave her for the things she did, but when Clark was on Red Kryptonite, Lana did NOT forgive him (she specifically said, "it's not enough anymore" when Clark said he was sorry)? Why is it OK for Lana to mess up but it's not OK for Clark to?

Did You notice how she asked for an explantion and he refused to give it/ Clark gave her forgiveness for the flower cause He knw what was going on, he refused to let her in on what happened and thus all she could assume was he did it cause he wanted to have fun and hurt her in the process.

People need to so stop friggin bashing Lana for things she cannot know about or control its pretty much just a lanbash for the fun of it making it clear how ridiculous so much of the lana hating has gone to extremes beyond actual validity.

I just saw Red and loved it all over again!! All of Clark's line's crack me up, his delivery is just sooo different...Clex scenes were awesome.

Lex: What about Lana?
Clark: Shes old news, I got a new girl, Jessie. (LOL!)

Clark: Lets just say that when Im done showing the world what I can do, Ill have everything Ive ever wanted, I may be even richer than you. (Gotta LOVE the attitude!!)

Clark: Theres enough of me to go around. (LMAO. That is soooo un-Clarklike..)

Bravo! The Lana bashing is absurd.

Saw this episode again last night, and it's friggin' amazing! A total different Clark, kissing Lana, checking Chloe out, and seeing Jessie.

Also- that long black coat he wears, is that the same from Injustice & Doomsday?? Sure looks like it :)

Clark: Clark Kent & Lex Luthor. I like the sound of that.

Love the song at the end of the episode.

And Clark so sweet with flowers trying to apologize

This was one of my favorites from Season two. But I haven't really watched it in a while.

I watched this just the other night. When I first saw it I didn't like the fact Lana was mad at him. As the series went on I got annoyed with Lana and now it's funny to me.

I love how Tom does subtle differences when he is on Red K and changes his voice deeper when he is Bizarro.
