I found this episode very enjoyable to watch.

Instead of the Freaks doing the trouble, it was a normal kid out killing them. Bit different which was a nice change.

Yeah I liked this one because it showed its not only the FotW's that are bad in Smallville. And when Clark got shot was absolutely heart wrenching seeining him in pain and Jonathan and Martha having to save him.

Why did Van wait until now to kill the meteor freaks? Why not six months ago, right after his father was killed?

On the DVD that scene is named "Doctor Dad"-I think.

Most of that superspeeding scene from that moment was actually taken from "Ryan"

This was a good one too but not a favorite. It's annoying how Clark's weakness is always easily found out by everyone. It had its good parts though

Yeah it is annoying how any FoTW that are only around Clark for a few moments can learn Clark's secret and weakness but then you Have Chloe and Lex and Lana who are around him all the time and constantly beign saved by him never notice or find out.

I thought this episode was pretty basic and kinda forgettable. The only way I remember it really is that the hot gardener guy from Desperate Housewives played the villian.
Oh, and when Clark is talking about how none of his adventures with the Kryptomutants ends well did he forget about Kyle Tippet?

I also enjoyed this episode, but my question is this: WHY HAS NO VILLAIN EVER THOUGHT OF KRYPTONITE BULLETS BEFORE?! That was great! I mean, in the original movies, if Lex had thought of that, all he would have had to do was manufacture a couple dozen rounds of those things, and then pump him full of Krypton lead! No more superman, no movies. Lex isn't as smart as he says he is!

This episode was excellent. I enjoyed the entire storyline about that Van dude and the idea of Kryptonite bullets was well thought out. The best bit i liked in the ep was when Van opened a full clip on Clark and thought he had won but Clark exposes his lead vest and Lana heel kicks him in the face. Nice stuff. Good episode i reckon :D

I think this episode was great. it was good to see that not only freaks are evil. i love the scene where clark gets shot because he thinks he is going to catch the bullet but instead it goes through, and then it goes into his chest, and then he screams for his dad. that is one of the most memorable scenes for me.

What do you mean no villain ever? Clark (in tights) is shot with a Kryptonite bullet in the season 2 premiere of Lois & Clark:TNAS.

I don't get how Clark didn't see that those bullets were green before he tried to swat them away. Great Episode though! I really liked the part where Clark saves Lex.

Extinction:

1) I loved this episode Extinction. The best part of the show is when Clark super-speeds to try to save Lex Luthor from being shot by Van. As Van is shooting Lex, Clark steps in front of Lex and catches the bullet. Then Clark cries out to Lex, "Lex, get down!" Clark pulls Lex to the ground and Van keeps firing, hitting the window of Lex's car. Lex's security officers come outside. Clark says to the security officers, "Someone's trying to kill him! Get him inside! Go!" Nice save, Clark Kent!

2) I love the Clark & Chloe scene. This is one of Tom Welling's finest acts. He played a good part here, when he yelled at Chloe Sullivan for keeping a file of Lex Luthor. Clark and Chloe are at the Torch.

Chloe (her voice sounds excited): "Think about it, Clark. Lex survived a meteor shower, a near-fatal car accident, and a plane crash. Even if he doesn't have enough money to afford a guardian angel with that much clout. Check this out."

(Chloe pulls up a file of Lex Luthor)

Chloe (cont): "Lex's medical records show that he has a white blood cell count that is off the charts. I mean, it's more than enough to raise an eye brow."

Clark (gets angry and yells at Chloe): "You've been keeping a file on Lex, too? Chloe, didn't you learn your lesson about keeping your secret files?"

Chloe: "They're my own private notes. Since when is curiosity a crime?"

Clark: "Since someone took your database and turned it into a personal hit list. Van had a printout of the same file on his bulletin board."

Chloe: "Van helped network half these computers. He must have cracked my password. Oh, Clark, this is all my fault."

Clark: "Chloe, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to blame you. It's not like you pulled the trigger."

Chloe: "No, I just loaded the gun and pointed it in the right direction."

3) I really liked these Clark & Lana quotes. You should have seen the look on Clark's face after some of the things Lana has said.

Lana: "Clark, you've always been there to protect me. I knew you weren't coming this time, so when Van showed up, I guess I was relieved that there were others like you out there."

Clark: "He's not like me. You have to see him for what he is. He's a killer. Lana, it's okay to be mad at people who tried to hurt you, but it's not fair to take it out on everyone who's been affected by the meteors. It's not their fault. No one asked to be different."

Lana: "Life would be so much better for everyone if the meteor shower never happened."

Clark had a sad look on his face after Lana said those words, "Life would be so much better for everyone if the meteor never happened." Clark would not have come along, if it weren't for the meteor shower. Clark looks away, stung by Lana's words.

4) I love this Lana and Clark scene, out at the Kent garden. Lana comes to visit Clark and talks to him. These are my favorite Clark and Lana quotes from Extinction:

Clark: "Lana, is everything okay?"

Lana: "I thought we established that we didn't need a reason to come and see each other."

Clark steps out of the garden.

Lana: You must be pretty sore.

Clark: It still stings a little.

Lana (to Clark): "You know, I believed Van for a minute when he told me you were bulletproof."

Clark: "Is that what he told you?"

Lana: "It was really comforting to hear. Suddenly everything made sense. The tornado, all the times that you've been there... Everything I can't explain..."

Clark: "I wish the answer were that easy. But I wasn't infected by the meteor rocks."

Lana: "Even if you were... it would be okay."

Clark: "I have to get back to work."

Lana: "What I don't understand is you're willing to walk into bullets for me, but you won't share what's going on inside of you. Clark, if you don't open up to the people that love you, you'll always be alone. I can't believe you'd want to spend your life like that."

Clark: "I may not have a choice."

Lana: "You always have a choice."

5) I love the Lionel Luthor & Chloe Sullivan scene. John Glover was an excellent actor; he played a good part. Chloe Sullivan was snooping around and looking up a file on Lionel's son, Lex Luthor. Lionel was very angry at Chloe.

Lionel: "You hit a glitch, Miss Sullivan? I know a very capable computer technician who might have some familiarity with your setup."

Chloe: "How could I be so idiotic? You donate the computers and then send your experts in to set them up."

Lionel: "Yeah, philanthropy. I've always prided myself on that."

Chloe: "What about tampering with a high school student's personal computer?"

Lionel: "I think you'll find your personal computer is on loan to the school as the property of the LuthorCorp foundation."

Chloe: "You are so low, you're subterranean. You know, Clark's files aren't even on this hard drive . Do you really think I'd be that stupid?"

Lionel: "My interest doesn't end with Clark Kent. I'm intrigued by your whole body of work. I'd hate to see your valuable research evaporate into the ether, but I will not allow information that concerns my son to be made available to anyone who can hack their way into your personal files."

Chloe: "Mr. Luthor, I'm very sorry about what happened to Lex. These files were never meant to be seen by anyone other than me."

Lionel (threatens Chloe): "I warn you. If I ever catch you investigating a member of my family again, a computer glitch will be the least of your problems. Good night, Miss Sullivan."

(That was one of John Glover's finest moments. One of his best acts)!

Thoughts on this episode:
How does every freak and killer find their way to Clark and his crowd? In the last episode, Lex was almost killed by his wife, Helen. Does he just bring out the killing instinct in people or does he just attract the killer types?

Lana, of course, always has the FOTW after her. And she has the bad habit of going to places by herself at night (like the cemetary:(), so she is not the smartest cookie in the jar. Considering the fact that she resides in Freaksville, and that people are always coming after her, seems like she would be more cautious. The thing that I could not understand is why the "gill-boy" tried to kill her. I thought he had a crush on her. Why would you try to kill someone that you like? Why do the FOTW always try kill people?

Things I liked in this episode:
Jesse Metcalfe as Van McNulty

Lex's line: "Maybe I am a freak.":rotfl:

Lana thinking Clark is meteor infected

The thing I did not like the most:
Lana telling Clark that if he doesn't open up to the people that love him he'll always be alone AND the fact that Clark believe's that crap. Doesn't that chick have eyes in her head? Clark is too good looking and has too good of a character to match those good looks to ever have to worry that he would be alone. Heck, I'd take Clark just the way he is. Who cares if he never shares his feelings with me? Hasn't anyone ever heard of the strong, silent type that barely show emotion? There are whole cultures that are like Clark. Crush on me Clark. I'll take you.:D

This is a good episode but not on my top.Liked how van was a FOTW hunter, liked how it tied with other stories, and the kryptonite bullut is one of the tightest moments in history
