View Full Version : To Snow or Not to Snow? Another Mistake!

I was reading the "Found a Mistake" thread and remembered something I did notice when the episode aired.
During the day, and the day after, when the sun is out, it is snowing and the ground is just covered in a blanket of snow.
However, that night when Jonothan dies (inbetween days), there isn't a hint of snow anywhere outside. In fact, there is no snow where the accident happened. Jonothan isn't wearing a coat and nobody has any icy breath showing when they breathe.
I'm gonna rewatch this to make sure, but I feel certain enough to post it at this time.

Not much of a mistake, the scene was probably shot when there wasn't show.

John said in one of his interview that it was about 18 degrees out when he did the scene as he pulled Clark away from Lana.

That and I am giving them the fact that the funeral probably happend 3 to 4 days after Jonathan died so there could of been a good sized storm that blew in. And I thought there was some snow on the ground when Jonathan died but I could of been wrong. Not a blanket of snow like the day of the funeral but I thought there was a bit around the fence. But I only saw the episode that once.

Speaking of snowing, what about the scene where Lana tells Clark that she'll marry him. Not only is the snow falling in the background inconsistant (though granted, snow sometimes can) when the camera angles change, but I really couldn't see much of any snowflakes landing/accumulating on Clark's or Lana's hair, let alone their clothing (ok, I think I saw an icy speck/sparkle or two on Clark's left shoulder), as at one point, it appeared like it was snowing pretty darn good.
At first I thought they were under an awning or there was enough of an overhang from the roof or mid-roof, but when the camera pulled back, they seemed to be right out in the open, on that nice and clean sidewalk. :\

Clark to Lana:
"Do I look different to you now?"
Lana says (in my version) :
'No, but you must have a built-in snowflake deflector, just like me."
Clark frowning:
Well after all, this is Smallville, Wall of Weird, ya know."

The same thing happens at the Fortress of Solitude when Clark proposes to Lana.
