View Full Version : Jor El in Lionel

Lionel is acting weird and I think it's due to Jor El inhabiting him.

- He knows about the ship.
- He knows that Fine has superpowers.

We can logically conclude that since he feeds this info to Chloe that he must have somehow been present or aware during the Clark/Fine battle in "Splinter". Also, he must also be aware of Clark's powers. It seems that either Jor El is affecting Lionel or the coma that Lionel was in made him aware. Lex looked like he was going to kill Lionel with that grab, but the TPTB love to misdirect us don't they?

On a side note, I wish that Clark had mentioned to Chloe that Jor El was inhabiting Lionel and that he was in the FOS. It might have made more sense to both of them that he was able to tell her about the ship, as in Jor El was using Chloe to alert Clark. He's told Chloe everything else why withhold that piece of information (unless it comes up later in the season)? They're really pushing the dichotomy of Chloe and Lana this season with Chloe knowing everything and Lana in the dark.

ya i was thinking that jor el is still controling lionel in some way. it just seems odd that he is going after brianiac and not clark anymore. when lionel was at the piano i was expecting him to seed out or something to say weather or not jor el still had him

Does anyone think there may be something to the three notes he played on the piano?

The notes he played were a descending B, A, G.

I dunno...I felt compelled to plunk them right after him.

I have been thinking (and posting) for some time that Lionel and Jor-el are now one. Still think so. Two will 'die.'

I wondered about the signifigance too, that was kinda funny thing to put in an episode, but also could've been done for some geeky film thing...

This ep definitely made it look like Jor-el is controling Lionel; I just can't see Lionel *knowing* about Fine's powers and Lex's UFO without trying to turn it to his advantage.

That head-grab thing. Damn. It looked like Lex was either forcing Lionel to look at him (and recognize that his son wasn't buying his bull), or looking at his father to see if he could detect... well, Jor-El. So what's the bet: is Lex going to kill Lionel because Lionel pisses him off, or will he kill Lionel in order to kill Jor-El? :)

Think about it:
-Lionel knew the powers of Dr. Fine. How is that possible if Lionel never met him, or watched him unless he is Jor-El. Jor-El knows of the new evil. He knows Chloe is great at solving, and knows Clark's secret.
-Lionel touched Lex. How many times does Lionel touch Lex when it is over a grumpy gills face? Lionel rarely touches Lex in the same manner Lionel did tonight. While Jor-El is actually a very loving man who did, in fact, hug his son in SV too.

I truly think Jor-El is still in Lionel, and he is coming out more and more in how Lionel behaves.

I agree. I think some of the dialogue today gave that away. He is being too helpful.

And, man, I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie!

possibility, except for the fact that he is aware of Lionel's personality. Would he know this kind of information?..

What about backing JK in the election?.. That could be Jor-El, but Idk if he likes JK that much.

He doesn't tell her because it address's the question - Why?

The only answer is that Jor-El/Lionel is waiting to collect.

He doesn't exactly want to tell Chloe that

Yea, the dialogue was becoming way to obivious now.

I got my tickets already for the first morning showing tomorrow :D.

Fine wasn't even in SV before Lionel could even look into Fine on dirt.

Jor-El knew way back in "Arrival", and knew what ways to be ready for it. Lionel is kinda like his fail safe.

But...um...everyone knows that. Jon, Martha and Chloe know that, since Martha didn't bite it in this episode, the deal still is out there. Chloe's a smart chick, she's gotta know the deal's still on. And Clark said as much to Jon in the loft. And Martha during their touching scene with the rain...hose pouring water off the roof ;)

Yes, I concur, as I have had this idea floating in my head ever since Lionel returned from his "possession."

Perhaps this means the end of both Jor-El and Lionel?

I dont think so.. Jor-El isnt gonna take his own life, that would be rediculous. And I dont think Clark is really that close with his real father just yet.

RE: Jor-el dying

Well, that's a cool idea. It would make the most sense too - I mean, Jor-El was the one who exerted the power to bring Clark's powers back.

'Course, Jor-el *is* already dead.

I agree. I think it is only temporary, but if Lionel(or Lionel/Jor-El) didn't give Chloe the direction to follow the FoS would be destoryed, Zod conquering, Clark and Martha's death. Lionel saved the world  :).

My theory is that Jor-El is still in control of Lionel's body, and has been acting as Lionel the whole time. He gave Chloe the heads up on Fine so that she could help Clark. Maybe at 100th episode or the end of the season, Jor-El will leave Lionel's body. Also maybe we will find out Lionel has really died the whole time, but that's doubtful.

All through the episode I couldn't tell if Jor-el was controlling Lionel. It got me curious that he would just happen to show up at the Daily Planet and give that story piece to Chloe about prof.Fine without anything in return. And then the way Lionel is interacting with Lex, something there smells fishy.

It might be Jor-El. The way hes been acting with Lex and even everyone else seems odd. Or maybe Lionel becoming evil again was the act and he is still good. I cant wait to find out

Jor-El in Lionel

I believe he is.

Reasons

(1) He knows about The Spaceship

(2) He knows about Brainiac/Dr. Fine & his powers

(3) He also is being Kind .

I was wondering how can Jor-el die if he is already dead. Isn't that just his spirit inhabiting Lionel

Alright, there are a lot of good indications that Jor-El is in Lionel. Here are some of my top reasons that I can remember seeing:

1. Lionel helping Jonathan Kent with election fibbing of Lex Luthor. Most people think that Jor-El doesn't like JK, but in reality, I think he really trusts them, why else would he had sent them his only son. He knows if Lex gets in to power, his dream of Clark helping mankind will be ruined due to the fact that when Clark actually decides to take on his destiny and become "the ruler of mankind", Lex will already have enough power to be the "dictator of mankind" by that time, and Clark with all his powers will be powerless.

2. The way Lionel has gotten in to Lex's stuff without Lex even knowing. I mean, their should be some evidence that Lionel some how got in to see the spaceship. My belief is that it's Jor-El thats causing the Electromagnetic Thing-a-majigor, and not Brainiac. Brainiac has been visiting the ship all this time and now all of a sudden they catch on? I doubt it. They bring this information right when Lionel walks in to the room and Lex closes the screen.. Very weird how they introduce the two together.

3. Lionel knowing about Brainiac's powers, only Jor-El would know this. I mean, lets say that someone did see Brainiac use his powers, the real Lionel wouldn't send Chloe to investigate, he would hire a team of people to investigate like he did with Clark. He wouldn't trust Chloe to give him correct information due to the fact that Chloe has lied to him many times before.

4. The way Lionel acts around Lex. He's been a lot more good hearted lately opposed to just not giving a you know what about lex. A lot of scenes are indicating that Lionel/Jor-El wants Lex to persue a new journey in life. He's given him love advice (even though most on here see it as Lionel being mean, I see it as him just trying to be there for Lex). Every scene you see him with Lex, he's always at least giving some advice out to help, to get him to see the better side in himself. The old Lionel wouldn't of cared. He'd be trying to create lies, steal the spaceship or be investigating Mr. Fine.

My Conclusion: I think it would be awesome to see Lionel fight along side Clark against Brainiac/the deciples. I think that Lionel still has all the powers that Clark has, and maybe we'll see it become a 2 on 3 battle royale. Father with son against an enemy that cant be defeated just by son. Clark will finally be able to see his father for the side that loves him, and wants the world to carry on. Maybe he'll sacrifice himself and Lionel Luthor in the process? I dunno. I hate making future predications.

You can't even call it that. It's his mind (AI). It's nothing mystical about it. It's Kryptonian technology.

I had thought that Lionel was good now, but Solitude definitely made it appear as if Jor-el is still present. But why did he help Chloe help Clark, why didn't he help Clark himself? Or is it Jor-el feeding him information to help Clark knowing he will cause he's good now. Lots of questions. Lionel isn't digging for info anymore, just maybe that Jor-el left Lionel with all the answers to the questions and Lionel helping on his own with those answers. He does still seem to be Lionel, personality wise hasn't changed much, just motive wise.

Harry Potter sucks. Anyway...
I do think the character of Lionel is going great. Just one question, how the hell does Chloe react like it's nothing when the man who's a convicted murderer and almost killed her appears at her desk?!!?!
Please someone tell me how that can happen! He tried to blow her up. No one in their right mind would have let that man six feet near them.

I begin to wonder whether Jor-El is using Lionel to feed information to Chloe because he knows Clark trusts her, and wouldn't accept information from Lionel or Jor-El. At least, if the information comes from Chloe, that's one way to get Clark to pay attention to it.
