I liked it, but the scene in Memoria was much better.

Was Martha saying Good bye to us the viewers?

Omg, this was the first scene I have ever cried at on Smallville. And it takes a lot for me to cry during shows or movies.

I nearly cried...Tom and Annette were both fantastic...very believable.

Both scenes, Martha ill on the couch and then again in the barn.

Clark saying his dad had given him so much, but that his mom was his heart and soul.....oh...nearly broke my heart. very tender...very sweet....I just loved it.

i DID cry when martha was saying goodbye to clark while she was lying on the couch. Annette and Tom were amazing.

The scene between them in the barn later was incredible, too.

and i agree, boogalou86, clark saying his mom was his heart and soul was so touching. i loved it, too.

great mother-son scenes in this episode. kudos to the writers on that.

I cried. All I kept having were flashbacks of all the stuff Martha has done on smallville. I think I would have wept all night if she did die.

Yes everyone I'm with you all----I nearly cried too!!(grown man tryin to hold back tears)

This was the best scene for me-----Smallville should get an Emmy from one its actors---at least one EMMY AWARD!!!!!!!!!

I cried. God, both of them were soo good! The line that put me in tears was when Clark said something like, "How are you feeling Do you want me to get you anything?" Just the way he said it was so incredibly sincere and caring. Aww... I cried, I really did!

I cried alot! the fact that Clark tells her that because of him this is what happens...like always you kno..but there she was a mother, loving her son, tellin him that she wouldnt' change anything. Brings tears to me now. And yes the ending you are my heart and soul. wow...I'm glad they had those scenes...and the fact that one day both parents will be gone, Clark just wants to at least preserve as much life from them as possible...so sweet.

Wonderful Clark-Martha scenes, beautifully played by Tom and AO.

To me, definitely they belong to the best SV scenes I've ever seen!

I agree that the scene with Martha lying on the couch basically saying good-bye to Clark has to be one of the best SV scenes ever. The scene between Martha and Clark at the barn was awesome. Tom and Annette both did a wonderful job!!

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!

Tom did an amazing job, and Annette, as usual, was brilliant. Such a wonderful episode to solidfy their bond. :) Now, if only we could see more of that.

I agree that we need to see more scenes like that. Particularly, in light of the fact that SO MANY PEOPLE believe that one of Clark's parents will soon die.

It'd be great to have more scenes like that, I'm just not sure if I could stand crying all the time.

It was good, but for some reason, I would have love it to be a little different... I'll explain...

At the end of the scene, I would have love to see Clark manage to take the kryptonite out of the led box and put it on Martha's forehead. We have seen him handle kryptonite before (he almost didn't react to it last week). Then, he could just have walk away in pain. It would have been a nice way to show how important his mom was to him and, for once, Clark would have been a real hero (because normally, he doesn't harm himself to save other...)

But maybe I was the only person in the world who would have lved to see that!:)

I hear what you are saying, hotk. That addition to the scene would have been awesome. Would have REALLY put an exclamation point on Clark's love for his mother. Wonder if TPTB may have thought about that and decided against it for some reason.

I hope that if one of the parents die in the 100th episode that the "good-bye" scene between Clark and that parent will be as good.

A fabulous scene, for sure. Annette O'Toole is tremendously underrated.
