How many people would stop watching Smallville if Chloe is killed?
This is the big question and important one of ALL questions in TV drama??

I would still watch. I would be pretty ticked off that they killed her, but the sight of Clark's beautiful face and some Clois would probably help ease the tickedoffness. :D
...I think it would be time to say goodbye. I've always loved Lex and Lionel and I love the new mr. fine character, but Chloe has always been my favorite character. I think I'd stop watching.

I would still watch, but I would be extremely angry. I'd like to say I would stop watching, but I love the show too much and I think if Chloe did die it would have a profound impact on Clark and on Lois so it would be interesting to see where that led them.
But I would still be ticked off!

I would absolutely hate it if she were to die, especially now with so much going on for her, and her knowing Clark's secret. That would be terrible.
Technically, yes, she is disposable to an extent, but there are other characters that would be better suited to die like Jonathan. (I love Jonathan too, but Clark's getting older, and is relying on his friends and his own decision more, so parents are getting less screen time).
Honestly, I think the "I'd die before telling anyone your secret," from Chloe is the writers trying to put in fake foreshadowing to take us off the trail. IMO.

11-11-2005, 11:02 AM
I said no only because I'm sure we'd see Clark go absolutely nuts, and if there's no one to stop him this time (ie Lois after Alicia's death), I'm sure he'll go so close to the edge that you'd think he was about to go over it.
Personally, I like Chloe and think she's a great character to have on the show. If she were to go, I'm sure at the point Clark snaps, we'd probably see flashbacks about how he should be taking responsibility because he's more powerful, and such like that. Then there's always the patent pending "Would Chloe want you to kill those that killed her?" You know, the usual sap that they throw in there. :P

I really like Chloe as a character on this series, and I also like what the writers are doing with her...giving Clark someone to talk to honestly about anything, including his secret, but I wouldn't stop watching Smallville if she "removed" from the picture. It would be unfortunate though.
Eh,Man?You-El?

Frankly, the show is getting sort of boring for me. I'm close to looking for an excuse to simply not watch TV on Thursday nights. So, Yep, if chloe gets killed I may very well bail.
johnny fogg
11-11-2005, 12:25 PM
But the WHOLE POINT is, you KNOW what the aftermath of Chloe's death will be like. Unsatisfactory, dismissive, and too embracing of Lois taking her place. Oh, and quick. She'll be forgotten in a month.
This show is too predicatable and boring. I stopped getting jazzed watching after I saw Recruit for some reason. The resolutions to supposedly big sub-plots are always dumb and I the only thing I care about are three things: Clark action scenes, Lois banter and Chloe. It's a TRIFECTA!! You can't remove one piece!!
And as for aqua, that post was hyperbole. I don't care if you dislike Chloe. It just tells me you see her as a Clana barrier and nothing more, and probably just popped in at season four when they introduced Lois and so you haven't actually seen Chloe do anything of importance.
My whole point is: if Chloe's death were MEANINGFUL, I'd accept it. But no! It'll be anticlimatic and stupid, I know it!

Based on the assumption that the show has two more seasons left in it, killing Chloe this early on would be a grave mistake. She is essential to their FoTW/villian storytelling. They always rely on Chloe to deliver the background story, and honestly no one does it better.
I do think Chloe is definately doomed to die before the series
finale:( But I hope and pray it isn't within the next few episodes. More and more, she is the reason I tune in week after week. So if Chloe goes this soon, then I think I would have much less reason to watch. She has far too much story left to tell.
johnny fogg
11-11-2005, 02:03 PM
No worries! Chloe will not be dying anytime before the end of the season because she still hasn't confronted her mother, a semi-confirmed sub-plot. People have to be reminded Chloe has a ticking time bomb in her noggin.

I've devoted too much of my time and entertainment to Smallville and I wouldn't be able to drop one of my favorite shows so easily. I am a great Chloe fan, but I am a fan of Superman more, so I'd still watch, but I'm sure that I wouldn't enjoy it as much. If they did Chloe like they did Alicia, then I may be angy enough to quit though. But I'm not gonna worry about that because TPTB are not going to kill Chloe...

No way. I'm actually hoping that Chloe is one of the ones to go. Mainly because, she is the most disposable character. They've done just about everything they can with her. If anything she is a barrier to other characters getting development. Lana learning Clark's secret and Lois becoming interested in journalism. All of those points would bring too much repetition with Chloe around.
So yeah, she needs to go. Also part of me wants her to go because of the way people are overreacting. She's not even that great of a character and people are acting like she's the entire show. She will never be as pretty as Lana and she will never become the reporter that Lois is destined to become. She'll also never be the one that Clark wants to be with.

Problem with someone dying as a catalyst is that it would make Clark just that-- Peter Parker. He would become a superhero due to guilt instead of because he wants to, which is what I want. But I'm sure that TPTB will go ahead with this cliche' because they can.

Totally agree. I don't want Lois becoming super reporter because Chloe dies. I don't want Clark becoming Superman because Chloe dies. That would end watching the show for me. So if they're going to do that, it better be in the very last episode.;)

How is Chloe a barrier to Lana learning Clark's secret when she TOLD Clark to tell her the secret? Also, Lois is her OWN barrier, Chloe continually pushes her to journalism and Lois continually says that she hates it. One more thing, since when has "being pretty" been a validation of character? Seems to me if that's all Lana has going for her, then it is HER that is expendable. I honestly don't believe that ANYONE on the show needs to be written off. But If I had my preference, I would vote Lois, she is nothing but comic relief, and Pete was just fine for that.

Let's see we tried this once before. Chloe "died" at the end of season 3 and didn't stay that way. (Thank goodness!) I love this character and hope that she won't be the one to go, not only because I like her but geeez how many times can we revisit the same plot. I wouldn't stop watching SV even if all the obvious foreshadowing does actually come true. I think that we won't see the last of Ms Sullivan especially with DC buying the rights to her character.

Yeah, me too. I just really really really want Clark to become Superman because (and just because) he wants to help people. Leave the guilt and angst to Batman and Spiderman. I really think that the plan with Braniac is to show Clark that Jor-El is really GOOD, and he will finally stop fighting Jor-El's will and realize what he is capable of.

That doesn't change nothing. Especially when someone is going to die, being or not in the comics. DC Comics bought her character just to protect their interests, doesn't mean she can't be killed (characters die all the time).

i spend an outragious amount of time devoted to this board, if i were to stop watching and stop comming here, i would have nothing to do, i would have to restructure my entire social life, I need smallville, its been intagrated into my life and it cant be removed no matter what.
if chloe dies, ill be upset, it probably will happen, and if it does, then every time i watch a past episode and see chloe, ill be sad because i know that she'll never accomplish everything she dreamed of doing, except working at the daily planet. it will be the same way i felt when they killed of Dax on DS9, but that was kind of different.
when and if chloe dies, it will make room for charachter development, someone will have to fill in the space's chloe left, probably lois and clark. so if she dies, at least some good will come out of it.

I agree with you all, Chloe is a good character in the show and I like her and Clark the most. I think their interaction together has the best chance for the writer's to do something special if they don't mess it up.
However, I would be very disappointed if they were to take her off the show and if they manage too, better be a good reason and not something like they did with Pete.
In all, I hope it isn't Chloe.
But I would still watch it because like everyone else has said, Chloe isn't what makes me watch it.

Killing off Chloe wouldn't make Lana becoming Clark's confidant or Lois learning the journalism ropes any less repetitive. It would still be a "been there, done that" thing.
If Lex was still the fascinating character he was in Seasons 1-3, then Chloe's death wouldn't turn me off the show. But as he's not, then losing Chloe would be the final blow for me. I am enjoying this season quite a bit, but Chloe's the heart of this show. Without her, it'd be hard to enjoy Smallville based on Clark's heroics alone.

Sounds like the deal I have with my hubby BlueNRed2. Thursday is my "night off". I know how you feel about watching the show if Chloe was the one to go, but I know that I would keep watching because the optimist in me would believe that they would bring her back like last time. i would watch it maybe just alittle afterwards just to see how the story goes and see how well they take the death of Chloe. Plus, to see if she would come back to life. . . . again. but i think that the story line and the show would be extremely boring so most likely but i would see how the story goes afterwards. my opion that it was a proven fact the chloe goes, but don't know when, it would be during the last season.

Although I highly doubt this will occurr, I may still watch, I'm not sure. It all depends on one key relationship. Clois. If Clois becomes a bit more interesting at all I may be more inclined to watch. I just hate the way they've done it and I don't see it getting better in the future. Erica Durance can't act and I don't feel like she has the Lois character in her. Take "Exposed" for example, the strip scene. Margot Kidder's Lois would've sold being a stripper and Teri Hatcher's Lois would've sold it for that matter, Erica's didn't.

Couldn't disagree more......that fact that Erica looked amateurish is what made that moment great.......if you watch it with that in mind you might see why I consider it a moment of comic genius! Erica was hillarious! That marching in place had me laughing out loud! And boy.....did she start to get it down towards the end. Now, Margot Kidder was good as Lois Lane......Teri was great......but Erica (although she can be uneven at times) can be down right fantastic! But even with that.......without Chloe the Girl Wonder........Smallville's Dynamic Duo would be no more. Yeah, our little Super Girl is to Clark.....what the Boy Wonder is to Gotham City's Dark Knight.
TPTB survived breaking up the Scooby Doo Gang.....but Clark & Chloe?..........The stories had better be damn good!......or I probably won't care to watch......and even if I did.....it probably wouln't be in my regularly.....cemented to the couch......and glued to the T.V.set mode.

Erica Durance can't act and I don't feel like she has the Lois character in her. Take "Exposed" for example, the strip scene. Margot Kidder's Lois would've sold being a stripper and Teri Hatcher's Lois would've sold it for that matter, Erica's didn't.
Not that this belong here, but you ever thought that it worked as intended? Lois is not a stripper, so why she would act like one?

Maybe here. The Yes' + Maybe's equal almost half of the total votes... that's a lot. I'm a city folk and career minded girls in business attire is hot. So, it'd be a downer to remove the only female character in the show that has such sensibility.
Anyway, she ain't going to die and that's coming from a guy blabbering about her death in earlier seasons. It'd be pretty stupid now for DC to allow the show to kill a character that they supposedly bought rights for. Pissing off potential new comic readers interested in how Chloe fits in the DC universe is bad marketing.
Yap all you want about how the TV show answers to no one, but the mere fact that they can't touch master Wayne or step on Singer's Superman shows that DC Comics/Movie division still runs the show.
Plus, why would TPTB remove a character that would essentially marked their place in the Superman Myth? This is the first time in any Superman TV/movie series that I've seen a non-superman character get so much following. Killing the Chloe character is like a an artist spitting on his masterpiece. It's the one thing in SV that TPTB can call their own as everything else was created by someone else.
This is why I say one of the Lanas are dead. Pa and Chloe are too predictable, so Ma Kent may go bye-bye. It's only 7 episodes and CK already banged Lana and now they're lying to one another. Talk about trying to complete the show's goals like there's no tomorrow... ;)

Interesting analysis "Mad Maestro" interesting indeed!
The vote tallies so far may support my little theory (which will remain unspoken).
So far, inclusive of the tallies, there are passionate responses that which seem mind you fall into three areas:
*I don't care about Chloe----KILL HER!
*I love Chloe----DON'T KILL HER!
*I LOVE SMALLVILLE!

Chloe Sullivan has a following on the internet that is all. Smallville gets like 4 million viewers per episode give or take. How many members are on this site for example, just over 20,000 which is tiny in comparison. Yes Chloe is popular on the internet but I know a guy called Captain Charisma who was popular on the internet on a program that is followed just as prominently on the internet and yet when it comes to live shows his fan following is just not there and I speak as a fan of his. I am talking about Christian Cage of course of formerly WWE fame.
People say she is popular but it seems like people want to jump on the bandwagon for some theory or other that I don't want to get into as this is not what this topic is about. That is why I believe she is popular on the net, everyone loves a good theory, ppl like to be bandwagon jumpers.

no i would still watch. its a great show and who ever dies this season would really suck but i dont think that it will make anbyone stop watching since no one really started to watch it just for the secondary characters. mr kent mrs kent and lionel luthor can all dieand that would suck. it wouldnt feel the same since they have been in the show since the begining but agian they are not in every episode like clark and lex are. if clark or lex died it would make more sense for people to stop watching since there will be no point.

i would not stop watching, but i honestly would throw a huge fit. i would not be able to stop thinking about it for the longest time. see i think that chloe's death would be extraordinarily powerful to clark and push him furthest in his journey to superman and truth and justice. but, if TPTB care at all about the ratings (and we know they do), chloe's death could be show suicide. not that most will stop watching, because i think most people, the hardcore fans, would continue to watch... but the show in others' minds would be forever ruined.
this is a question that i've pondered a lot since we found out spoilers for the 100th episode. im honestly scared more than anything. but, imho, i believe that the writers are going to be posing a lot of these moments with many different characters who will "die" for clark. there will be a lana, lex, martha, maybe even lionel moment. like we've been told, many many false scripts will be passed around. i'm pretty sure that we all know one of the deaths for certain, but the other one is less sure... and id be wiling to bet anything that TPTB will put in many, many, amny, many false leads into the show to keep us on our toes.
now here is a question i have:
if you were to know that chloe was to die, would that change the feelings you have about the rest of the show (after her death) if you hadn't known her predicament?

Interesting last question!!
And I who started this thread/poll must answer!!
No. Why?
I took no interest in Smallville until the Spring 2004 when ABC Family started airing reruns from S1-S3 and they kept cycling those eps. from beginning to end----watching S1-S3 now on for the 5th time----got me hooked!
Reading these message boards and people varying and passionate views on Smallville and it's characters can color ones attitudes to certain characters as I believe it has for most of us.
And with that attitude, came the passion for one attractive woman, Allison Mack, who even John Glover said of her personality is sparkling and wonderful to work with! :D
As a male fan---naturally not the only one in this mix----developed a liking for such woman some will never ever meet. Plus I concur Allison is talented and takes her portrayal seriously!
You are I take it, an actress too and if I saw you perform as she does, I'd be attracted myself!!:) :)
If Chloe dies, I would honestly not stop watching the show. As it had been said before in past posts, Chloe is not the reason I watch the show, but don't get me wrong. I still love her character and Allison Mack is an excellent actress. But I would still keep watching the show, despite her death.

I didn't stop watching when they killed off Morgan Edge and Claire Foster; I didn't stop watching when they introduced Lois; I didn't stop watching when they blew up the ship; I didn't stop watching when they wrote off Pete Ross; I didn't stop watching when Clark flew; I didn't stop watching when the Kryptonians came to Smallville and I didn't stop when Clark visited the Fortress of Solitude; and somehow I didn't stop watching when Chloe learned the secret.

Seeing that Smallville is in fact Al/miles' project they----but, unlikely ----could do something along those lines to their major characters at risk of destroying the show and fans etc... with all the attendant implications and consequences that go along with such a manuever.

Oooh, this is a tough question! I love Chloe dearly. She's my favorite character because I think we are so alike its frightening. I'd probably bawl my eyes out if she died. However, I don't think there's is anything in existence that would make me freely chose not to watch Smallville. It's an amazing show, and I find myself obsessing over it. While Chloe's death would upset me more than anything else, I must say I could never bring myself to stop watching. Hey at least we still got Lois! (Who, btw, I also love dearly.)

I don't trust spoilers as I used to.
Now I am past the earlier eps.----seen 1-3 about 4 times over with seasons 4 & 5 on tape now----looking forward to just new eps. from here on out.
And. yes, that's just what it was, the innocence of the earlier days. I read somewhere in Al Gough's interview that now they are in college there will be more adult oriented situations.
I guess it is the direction and process of where he wants to take this "re-telling" of this portion of the Superman saga---Smallville!:)

yet another response from me:
again i say that i wont stop wtaching... however, chloe's death will be wayyyyyy too premature at this stage in the series. i actually do think she should die (this coming from a chlarker, keep in mind), but not until the very end. she should die for clark... whether that is in keeping his secret or while she is on a job with him... either way she should be the one who ultimately causes him to be superman. which makes perfect sense for the show... superman is with lois (at least currently) and in the show, chloe is most similar to the future lois.

I watch for a good story, not any particular character, other than Clark that is who is naturally required. I'd hate to see Chloe die off; I like her and I think she provides many usefull functions.
The thing with Chloe is that we've already seen her "die" for reasons connected to Clark. Clark's response was to flirt with her cousin over her grave. Anyway it would be redundant to kill her again so I think it's her. JK is the likely target and of course there may be some fans who stop watching if he goes because they lose the father-son dynamic.

It's a typo, I meant I *don't* think she's the one to die. I think it'll be JK.
It's a double edge sword; one hand killing off a character might lose the fans of that character while on the other hand it can be a powerfull mechanism for the plot.

Interesting!----"fans of the character" or "powerful plot mechanism"??
Translates into:
*Fans=Ratings/Viewership
*Plot/Story Lines=Writer's/Prioducer's Egos
You can figure the obvious!
In no way would Chloe's death take me away from this series (although I think Mack makes the most convincing character on the show). Smallville is a story-driven series which is aided by its characters...not the other way around.
In reality, I think her death would be the most dramatically compelling -- gutsy for its shock value and provocative for its potential story development. That said, I personally expect Chloe to live through Ep 100. I think her death is likely to occur at the end of the series...not now. Reason? I really see her character's death as the final piece of the Superman pyramid on Smallville.

Yes alot people/posters agree with on these good points.
And I think TPTB are dropping hints like land mines/sonar buoys to build up and prepare us for the Series Finale may in 2008.

I Just Met John Glover!!! Post #1 of 7
Oh my gosh!! I just met John Glover in a parking lot at Cal State L.A.
I am not one to get star struck, but right now and I am totally star struck!
Okay so I was walking out of this parking lot and who do I see just pulling into a parking spot there? Non other than John Glover, aka Lionel Luthor! He was in a convertable new VW bug, just like the one Chloe drives on Smallville, but it was black. So me, the shyest person ever, just walked up to his car, for his windows were still rolled down, and was like "Hi. I know you. How are you?" And then Mr. Glover was like "Hello. You look familar. Do I know you?" And I was like "No. But, I am a huge fan of yours!" So then he was like "Oh good. What's your name". And then I told him my name and he was like "Wait a second while I get out of my car." So he did and then he asked me how this parking lot permit thing worked here. So I led him to a permit kiosk and told him that you got to press this button and put this much money into it. So he did and then I just kinda followed him back to his car while he put the permit in it. Then he was like "So are you for the benefit too?" And I was like "No, I'm here for my sister's play that she is performing in." Then he asked me about the play and he was familiar with the premise of it, although I couldn't for the life of me remember the play's title. He then told me he was there for a benefit dinner for the Actors' Guild or something like that. And then I was like cool. He found a dime on the ground and gave it to me. So I kept the dime. Yeah! And then we started to walk to the campus, when a couple people were like "Mr. Glover, you need to come this way." So he was like "Oh okay. Well I have to go this way. Nice talking to you. Bye" And I was like "Oh Okay, bye." And that was that.
Let me just say, he was super sweet and so down to earth. He had his long locks of hair and his beard was almost grown in. Not so much the side-burn/goatee look he was sporting in this past episode of Smallville. And he was wearing some black slacks and a nice long sleeved pink shirt with the collar open. He was just gorgeous! Absolutely wonderful! John Glover is just the best....the bestest ever!
Ahhh, that made my week. I just wish I could've talked with him longer.
Hope that gives you your "Recommended Daily Allowance" of John Glover.
But if Chloe does go it might be a temptation for you all together.:( :(

Chloe is going to be working for 3 weeks on another show so I think this seals it. Lionel and Chloe are going to die, just like everybody's said all along.
Some of us clung to the hope they would at least send Chloe into Metropolis to locate her mother like it was rumored, but nada.
But I am very disappointed in tptb that they would introduce Chloe's mental history as a cheap out for her character, then be too cheap to even follow up on that!
But isn't it so CLICHE to kill her off just to force Clark and Lois' transitions into hero/reporter??

Agreed. She won't be in every scene for the full hour of all 3 episodes.
Let's assume 30mins (being generous) of screentime for each episode, totaling 1.5 hours. They could shoot all her scenes in a day or 2, maybe 3.

Personnaly, I'd continue to watch the show. This said, I think it would be a mistake because
1) It kill one of the best dynamic of the show (someone knows his secret)
2) It would feel very weird then if Clark told anyone else (Lana for instance) his secret
Personnaly, I think it would be cool if they kill both Jonathan and Lionel. Even though I love both character, it could create a interesting situation. Clark and Lex's reaction, shown in parralel, could show both their true nature. One would choose to live this painful moment by saving live, another would just become villain. It would made a intersting twist, less cliché than : We love the same girl, let's fight! Also, if done correctly, it would make a continuation of Lex. Because what we tend to forget is that Lex was not a good person when he was younger (not evil either...). He aleady had a base to become who he ultimately becomes, but Clark presence changed temporarly his life. But now that Clark his not is friend anymore, it would be nice to see him unable to go trhough a painful moment and staying 'good'.
My two cents!

Oooh I like that. How about Lionel and Jonathan getting into a another fight that turns lethal?

It would't feel weird? I mean, I don't feel it would be natural after the last episode...
Sure, it could really create a rift between lex and clark. But I would prefer if JK dies from a heart attack (it would respect the movies and remind it for everyone who will watch the next movie.) This way, Clark would feel responsible and, possibly, FINNALY take his responsabilities. It would also be nice to see Lionel dies because of Lex in a purely evil way. It would show that Lex has became purely evil AND that he follows in his father footstep. This said, I guess this is not what happens in the comics so the purist might strongly disagree with me!

I would definitely stop watching. The characters of Clark and Lana, as written and acted, are painfully one-dimensional and boring. Chloe is the only character with anything going on upstairs. But now tptb have paved the way for her demise. I guess I could see what other shows are airing Thursdays at eight.

Bull...Chloe will BECOME Lois Lane. And Jonathan is the one who dies.
Guaranteed.

Not the chloe is lois theory, uhhhhhhh. If one character keeps you watching a show, then i don't think you ever really liked it at all.

Clark getting recast would be the only thing that I can think of that might get me to stop watching.
I doubt that will happen, so I'm in with this show until the end.
That said, I would really miss Chloe and think it would be a mistake for her to be offed... she's important to the show.

I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE THE SHOW WITHOUT HER!!:( :( :(
I WOULD BE VERY VERY ANGRY IF SHE DOES NOT CONTINUE IN SMALLVILLE BECAUSE CHLOE, LEX, CLARK AND LOIS ARE THE REASONS WHY I WATCH SMALLVILLE, SPECIALLY HER.
IT'S MY FAVOURITE SHOW, BUT I COULD NEVER FORGIVE THE TPTB FOR DOING THAT AND I WOULD NOT WATCH IT ANYMORE!!!

I couldn't sympathize with you more!!:(
It would be just as tragic for tptb, as equally in killing Chloe!!!
But in one sense who cares about how tptb feels??

I hope tptb act in a intelligent way and finally decide to give to Allison's character conitnuity. They are working hard to have again the wtachers they lost last year and I do not believe that knowing the consequences that would bring to lose a character like her, they decide to kill Chloe. Without audience = No money for tptb = No Smallville.

Exactly, exactly the point!:D :D :D
Which is, I believe deep down, they will not touch Chloe come February in what choose to call "Al Gough's St. Valentine's Day Massacre"!!!
So I'm not worried at all for I KNOW Chloe is safe and sound---oh they may fake us and put her in perilous but 'escapable'situations only to come out as usual, the Supergirl she is! :D :D :D :D
But I can see the consequences to tptb---to name a few+yours:
*Without audience = No money for tptb = No Smallville.
*The anger of a mass global audience---via e-mails, on-site protest at affilate TV stations!
*Possible lawsuits for direct pyschological trama sustained!(think of the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction of 2003)!
Some of those may be a stretch!
But, as one other poster put and I agree with her "blunt and to the point" statement:
No Chloe=No Me!!!

I'd stop setting my clock to make sure I don't miss an episode. If it was on and I had nothing better to do, I would watch but not religiously.
I would still buy the season 5 DVD for the epis she has already been on but I would probably exchange the season 6 DVD set if I got it for a gift for something else.

it's really a difficult decision...
She is my favourite character on the show, above even clark (who i dont think is portrayed at his best). I don't care about Lana, i care minimally about the kents, i do want to know how lex goes bad, and i sort of want to see what happens to clark....
i think i'd still watch it, but i wouldn't really enjoy it... all the scenes would be
lex clark
clark fine
lex lionel
clark lionel
fine lex/lionel
which would all be good... but then you'd have to deal with
lex lana
clark lana
lionel lana
kents lana
clark kents
lex kents
kents lionel
fine kents
which are all totally predictable and dull
maybe i'd record it and fast forward the boring bits

I would probably stop watching... As it is, it's been very dissapointing in some aspects (the show). Chloe leaving/dying/whatever would just make it clear for me it was a mistake to put my psycological stability in the hands of the writers in the first place.

No show is worth one psyche-----Smallville included!;)
But, that's how they do it to us (just like Tony Danz and Judith Lite in "Who's the Boss"-----that I'm not sure/I'm afraid type relationship they strung out for 5+years)
So Allison/Chloe leaving the show will devastate those----myself included----hooked on what happens next in Smallville with Clark, Chloe and the rest.:\ :\

I'm a huge Chloe fan, yet I think I'd keep on watching, just to see how they would make up for her loss. I mean Clark needs a sidekick and the two work well together. Plus, personally, I don't think she's the one they are gonna kill.

It would be sad to see her go - but at the end of the day it is just a tv show, and she's a charater - it's not real - and wouldn't affect my love of Smallville in any way.
And anyway we would still have Lois - who i'm assumeing would become a kind of Chloe mark II so her spirit would still live with in Lois who would contine what Chloe had started - so on that line of thought i think Chloe will die eventually, but she's probibly safe for this season anyway.

Well I voted that I would stop watching Smallville if Chloe dies. She is my absolute favourite character and even though Smallville is primarily about Clark, it just wouldn't be the same without Chloe.
Plus, Chloe was already "killed" at the end of Season 3. How could TPTB put us through it all again?! This makes me think that Chloe will not die in ep. 100.
It may not be Chloeville (lol) but she is such an exciting, valuable character. Without her a lot of SV's appeal to me would be lost.
I might watch it occasionally if she goes, but I wouldn't be even vaguely worried about missing it. After all if Chloe goes we'll probably get even more Lana and if anything is going to make me stop watching it's that!
