I think you guys are reading into this to much. Tptb are probably messing with our heads with these ''id die before ill reveal your secret'' comments

I think it was just a line. She won't die.

LOL, if you believe that, then I have some beachfront property in Kansas for ya. If you think for a second they'd reveal who was going to bite the big one in any episodes prior...lol, not gonna happen.

I think so too. First we got the "someone close to you will die," prophecy, and now we have Chloe foreshadowing her death scene.
This is two strikes agaisnt her. But she could get lucky. One of the Kents could die instead.

I still think it will be Jonathon or Martha. This scene seemed to be teasing us that it might be Chloe, but it's the ultimate story-telling tool: mis-direction.

There's a possibility that she's gonna die either this season or the next. It depends on which is the last season. And it's more likely the last episode that it's gonna happen.

What spooked all of us was the total unexpected timing of Chloe's statement/profession/confession!!
Though I'm not worried b/c she'll be fine, was still the unexpected curve she threw! Should have seen it coming though.

Misdirection makes perfect sense in this case, but the same could also be said about all the Jonathan Kent heart talk.
If it's either of them my heart will break in half.

This is Smallville, nothing is offical.
I don't think she's dying in the 100th episode, I think she's dying in the last one.

Well "some" people thought that Sawyer was dying last night on Lost, but we see how that turned out.
Killing Chloe wouldn't be original. But neither has been a lot of stuff AlMiles have done, so I'm expecting it just for that sheer reason.

It's ALL misdirection - Chloe's comments, Jonathan's Senate race and Martha's illness. It's all there for one purpose, to keep us guessing, and catch us all off guard when Jonathan dies.

Either that or she's gonna end up in the nut house like her mom. Right now i think either fate would be a tragic end for Chloe. :(

First strike - "Exposed"'s Angel Wings
Second Strike - "I'd never betray your secret Clark. I rather die for you than betray your secret."
If there's a third then...I'll be serious worried for Chloe!

Actually first strike: she "dies"
2nd strike: the nightmare
3rd strike: the quote
It's like TPTB are saying that they can use and abuse her all they want and then the final blow would be....death.

Well, there is alot of logic in these posts, unfortunatly I feel that you are correct, Chloe has got a reaper on her heels, but lets not let up on ol' Bo Kent so quickly. few reasons for each:
Chloe:
1) she isn't in the comics, the movies or any other form of Superman media.....that doesn't help her.
2) the foreshadowing comment from tonights episode.
3) (and my personal biggest reason) Chloe knows Clarks secret, and that has as of yet NOT panned out too well for people, Pete, Alicia.
Jonathan:
1) There were comments in tonights ep, about Jonathans health, no one seems to be picking up on that foreshadow.
2) Jonathans past problems with his health.
3) A feeling I have that Jonathan may sacrifice himself to save Clark. Remember in the begining of the third season when he said He would sacrifice anything for his son (to Jor-El in the caves)
NOTE I know, that would be the single biggest piece of continuity this show has ever produced.
4) Think Superman Returns, the movie is using the original Superman as canon, and in that story Jonathan dies of a heart attack when Clark is a teen. the Show may have that happen to form a thin line of continuity with the movie.

Chloe and Johnathan could both die. It doesn't have to be one way or another. And Lionel is expendable too.

Could be, no doubt about it, but I don't think so.

It could be Chloe, it could be Johnathan. He mentioned his ow death during the episode as well, and if we are going to read into Chloes comment then we can't ignore John Kent's comment either. That was a beautiful set up with both of them.

Frankly I think the episode did far more to foreshadow Jonathan's death then Chloe. The heart condition has been a reaccuring theme since season three and really of the two characters Jonathan is the more expendable one. Clark is all grown up and really has to start making his own choices in life without having to turn to his parents for guidance all the time. Jonathan's role was to raise Clark and to teach him right from wrong and he's essentially done that. There is still a lot more that can be done with Chloe in not only her own right as a character but in helping to shape Clark into being Superman. In order for this storyline to be justified the death has to have the greatest impact on Clark and when you compare Jonathan to Chloe there's no contest. JK's death would by far have a greater impact on Clark then Chloe's would.

TPTB have wanted to mess with our heads, and they are doing a spectacular job at that. I loved tonight's ep up until the point of Chloe's comment; but I agree that's it's much too early to give away something that many have thought might happen anyway. I see it (pray for it) more as a smoke screen, the real sacrifice has not truly been revealed, although the history of Supes is that it would be Bo.
In many ways we're approaching Smallville meets Twin Peaks...the twisted plots, the diabolical, supposedly trusted characters.....if David Lynch's name ever appears as director of an upcoming ep, then I AM worried!

I really love Chloe's character, & hope it doesn't happen.
Maybe her popularity with the viewers, puts her beyond being disposable. At least let's hope so. :\ ;)

I think TPTB are trying to throw out some feelers to throw off the viewers
OR
maybe TPTB purposely made it so obvious that Chloe is going to die that they knew viewers would say it is now too obvious and it can't be Chloe so hah we fooled you, it really is going to be
Chloe
OR
maybe now that we know they know she AAHHH!
I am in denial it can't be Chloe.:p
The plots are so much better this year in any case.
Love the suspense! S5 is great.:)

Chloe didn't die in "Reckoning" but that line still gives me chills. Maybe Lex will end up killing her in Season 6 because she wouldn't reveal Clark's secret to him.
