If you have souls, please don't let the rest of this season be told "From The Desk Of Chloe Sullivan".
Thanks, pals!

I second that, I like Chloe and all but that was just Lame. All and all I love they way you focus on the Prof. Fine and Lex relationship, instead of the Lame Vampire story.

The only reason they did that was because it was about her trying to write and get into the Daily Planet. I didn't see anything wrong with it. :)

I didn't especially like it, but it's fine for a one-off. Just don't do it again.

It has been brought up that Chloe might eventually become Lois Lane down the road....and I think we might see that transforming....if it's true.

As I posted in another thread. I thought Chloe's narrative actually helped the seriousness (or ridiculousness however you see it) vampire part of the story.
Bottom line: if your a Chloe hater, then you hated it. Don't get your panties in a twist. The monologue was just to help this episode along. TPTB are not going to make a habit of it. I liked it for an episode. Trying something different is a breath of fresh air for SV.

What do you mean Chloe will become Lois? I don't understand that. IT's early and my mind is kinda slow right now.

Chloe would need a personality transplant for that to work, sorry not gonna happen!

Chloe serves Lois' function, but is not herself Lois.
Two reasons why she's gonna die: Erica's boobs. (not that I resent her for having them, she can't help that she looks fine):\

Chloe won't become Lois, but maybe something that happens to Chloe will become the catalyst for forging Lois into her future driven reporter type. But I actually liked the change of POV. It did help to carry the ridiculous vampire storyline. It was different.:)

I though the chloie narrative was pretty good. It was a nice change for an ep, i actually think it made the ep better then if we just had lana and a bunch of vampires running around. And i dont know whats up with the rest of u GUYS(and some girls lol) but i look forward to any time kristin gets to play a part like that cause she plays such a good "bad girl" just likw when she was a witch and got sprayed by that flower in the 1st season i think. She looks so hott just enjoy the dam ep. If u dont like it just mute the sound and ENJOY KRISTIN DAMMIT lol.

I'm not a big Chloe fan, but I thought her story telling helped the episode out and she looked cute in her costume.
I wouldn't imagine that TPTB would use that style again. It was just a fun Halloween themed eppy. :D

I kind of liked the way they told the story. I just felt bad for Kristen, can the just stop making her have to do silly things?

As a creative device, narration is generally used as a crutch for a weak plot that can't justify itself with its own dialogue. You see it in lame movies all the time.
However, used in moderation, as in this episode, I fine it refreshing and a change of pace; and a way to justify an over-the-top plot. I genuinely liked it. It made the A part of the story flow.
But then, you always have to think about the B part of the story and where's it's coming from if your A part is interwoven with it but not supposed to be aware of it, as in this case. So, a good device for a change of pace because it was a one time thing.
I just hope they do not use it again, though, at least for a long time.

The narration by Chloe was the writers' way of blaming the episode on somebody else.

Yeah, I really feel bad for Kristin Kreuk doing this episode, she look uncomfortable, But she did look hot.
I just wish the writers will give her character more depth and come to terms with Clark.

I liked it, as long as it's a one-time thing. I loved the episode. Don't know how viewers of a show about aliens, superheroes, etc... have a problem with vampires. That's a little weird. We know there is magic in the Superman world, not just because of witches on Smallville, but in other formats too.
As for narration generally being a crutch for a weak plot, that's a really lame generalization. Plenty of great films and shows use it. Sometimes, a writer feels it would be more interesting to tell the story from a certain character's point of view. Simple as that. Sometimes, the story is meant to be nostalgic, like in "A Christmas Story" or the other Ralphie films, or the TV series "The Wonder Years." Books are OFTEN told from a character's perspective, and so that is sometimes carried over onto the film versions. Narration is also used to contrast the mood of a story for humorous or soothing results, or to enhance a mood. A certain vocal tone or dialect can add just the right spice to a story to make it all the more vibrant. There are plenty of reasons to use narration. It is often used to enhance a film rather than "fix" it.
In this case, I think it was used simply to tie in the "Chloe gets into the Daily Planet" storyline. One thing that amazes me about Chloe, though, is that she actually didn't expect a tabloid trash reaction from Carrie Fisher. Who didn't see that coming? In the future, rather than killing off the Chloe character, they should have her Kolchak-esque character get fired and have to work at a tabloid, where they are willing to print her style of stories.

Chloe's personaliltiy is closer to the Lois we all know and love more than EDLois is right now in SV. The only function EDLois apparently seems to be serving in season 5 so far is T&A. Enjoy guys! But I think that the character of Lois deserves better.;)

Chloe was doing her best Veronica Mars impression this episode. Speaking of which, has yet to have a "filler" episode.

I do agree with the t & a. i think Lois character's path will change eventually which will change her character more to the Lois that everybody recognises, I mean they are really building Chloe up this season maybe for a fall that will spurn Lois to follow Chloes dream. just a thought:)

Lois should follow her own dream. That's another clunky aspect of Chloe's possible death. Lois should learn how well reporting fits her through experience, not guilt.

i think the way they had the episode set up worked better in their favor..
if the ep went in the order of the occurences, i dont think it would have been as good..
i liked the concept of "@ the desk of chloe" but definantly dont make a habit of it..

The writer's were doing in jokes from as many vampire movies as they could squeeze in. Chloe's narration is from the old Night Stalker movies. Kolchak would always narrate the stories as the article he's writing, get proof of the supernatural, then his editor would kill it, but somehow he'd always wind up working for the same editor the next week.

i thought the stuff with chloe narrating was ok for the episode i just hope they dont make the whole series turn ou to be a story told by chloe to her grandkids or something. that would suck. and the end of the episode was confusing about how a super hero will work there. it makes it seem like her narrating takes place like 30 years in the future. i didnt like that part. they could have cut that out. hopefully that becomes a plothole like lanas 12 hours and level 33.1 and how dr swan got the key

Why was there a kryptonite stake in Lex briefcase if Clark only used a syringe?

cause u kill vampires with a stake. guess he had it incase he was attacked or just a joke involving the stake

The Kryptonite Stake was really the tip of a cave stalagtite/stalagmite (wher Buffy was bitten by the bats). Lex said the meteor rock in the stalagtite/stalagmite kept the serum (in the syringes) active.
I liked the narration for something different.
The whole episode seemed to be an akward way to get Lana to express some positive feelings about Clark.
Dear writers: Does "Project 1138" relate in any way to Spielberg's movie "THX 1138"?

The narration seemed to help me through this episode, along with some good Lex scenes. Wouldn't want to see it as a habit but enjoyed it for a change. At least I was assured from the start that it would end OK so it made it less painful to watch.
