Chapter 1: (Saying Goodbye)

Clark and Lana stood in the airport terminal saying their goodbyes to their family and friends.

“I am going to miss you both so much.” Martha said giving one last hug to both Clark and Lana.

“Mom, we will still see each other. We will be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas.” Clark said.

“I know but my baby is going away.” Martha added.

“Don’t worry Martha, both of us will be fine.” Lana said.

“I know you will.”

Martha stepped back to let the others have their turn.

“Son, you take care of yourself and make sure that you take very good care of Lana.” Jonathan said giving his son a hug.

“I will dad.” Clark said.

“And you Lana, take good care of my son.” Jonathan said hugging Lana.

“I will.” Lana said.

Jonathan also stepped back. Lex was next.

“Now you two, anytime you need anything and I mean anything, you just let me know. Take very good care of each other. I will see you in New York when I visit there.” Lex said hugging both of them.

“Thanks Lex.”

Now was Chloe.

“My two best friends are first married and now moving away. What next? Just make sure that you two have tons of fun in New York. Clark, make sure that you send me all of your articles. I will send you mind, of course. Lana, keep Clark under control. Don’t let him get too crazy in The Big Apple.”

“I promise Chloe.” Lana said pulling her friend in a big hug.

“I am going to miss you so much.” Chloe said pulling away.

“Clark, I will miss you too.” Chloe said.

Clark and Chloe hugged before an announcement came on telling all the passengers on the New York flight to start boarding.

“I guess we have to go now.” Lana said.

Clark looked at everyone and smiled.

“Don’t worry. We will still see each other and talk almost everyday.” He said.

They said their final goodbyes and were off leaving four very sad people. Clark carried the carry on bag for Lana and they gave their tickets to the lady at the counter. They both looked back once more and smiled before heading onto the plane.

“I think these are our seats.” Clark said as he looked at the ticket stub once more.

“I think they are too.” Lana said smiling as her husband.

Clark put the carry on bag in the compartment as Lana took her seat. Clark soon took his seat next to Lana as well. They both fastened their seatbelts and looked out the window. Outside the window was Kansas, the state that they lived in for all of their lives. The state that contained two people that fell in love and got married. The state that contained every bad memory and every good memory and now it was the state that they were both leaving.

“What are you thinking about?” Clark asked holding onto Lana’s hand.

“How scared am I.” Lana answered looking into Clark’s eyes.

“Why are you scared?”

“We are leaving Kansas and moving to New York. What if my job doesn’t go well and I end of out of a job?”

“You will do great. Don’t worry. Remember when you were offered the job? They said that they haven’t seen anyone with as much talent as you since the CEO first worked there. They also said that they were surprised that you don’t have more job offers or your own business already.”

“I know but what if it was only those designs that were good.”

“Lana, don’t worry. You will do great. We will be great.”

“If you say so. Thanks. That really helped.”

“Good.”

Clark kissed Lana just as the flight attendant announced that the plane was going to take off soon.

“Clark, I think I forgot to mention to you one thing.” Lana said.

“What is it?” Clark asked.

“I am afraid of flying.”

Clark let out a small laugh before squeezing Lana’s hand lightly.

“Don’t worry, I am flying right beside you.”

“Thanks.”

“Do you know what helps you not be afraid?”

“What?”

“Well my mom told me that if you fall asleep as the plane is taking off, then you won’t feel so scared and you never know, by the time that this five hour flight is over, you will just wake up.”

“That’s a very good idea. Do you mind if I use your shoulder as a pillow?”

“Use away.”

Lana let out a small giggle before resting her head on Clark’s shoulder. She soon fell asleep just as the plane was taking off.

Chapter 2: (Our New Home)
Clark and Lana sat in the backseat of a yellow taxi that was driving them to their new house. As a wedding present, Lex had bought and paid for a new home close to their work. At first, Lana and Clark could accept it but after Lex told them the benefits of him buying them a home and them not having massive bills, they agreed that it was the right thing to do. Lex said that it was already furnished but they could always buy more. Lana looked out of the window in amazement at New York as Clark did the same. They pointed out a couple of things to show the other person and both of them smiled at thoughts of their new life in New York. The taxi pulled up to a small house with a green grass blocked off by a white picket fence. Lana looked at the house amazed as she got out of the taxi. Clark followed Lana as the taxi driver got out as well and walked to the trunk.

“It’s beautiful.” Lana said opening the gate.

She walked to the porch while Clark got the two suitcases and paid the driver. He carried both suitcases up to where Lana was standing and put them down.

“It looks nice.” Clark said.

“I like it. Let’s see the inside now.” Lana said.

Clark reached into his pocket and pulled out the key.

“Will you do the honors, Mrs. Kent?” Clark said holding out the key.

“I would love to, Mr. Kent.” Lana said grabbing the key.

Lana put the key inside the lock and unlocked it. She quickly opened the door to a very beautiful house. They both walked in with Clark once again carrying the luggage. Lana closed the door as Clark put the suitcases down.

“I am going to take a look around.” Lana said.

“Wait for me. I want to see my house too.” Clark said.

They walked hand in hand throughout their new house. Clark and Lana walked all around the house. There was a big living room and kitchen with a small bathroom down the hall. Up the stairs were two bedrooms and another bathroom. Clark and Lana walked into the master bedroom which had it’s own bathroom.

“It’s big.” Lana said.

“So is the bed.” Clark added.

“Gosh Clark. Do you ever have anything but sex on your mind?”

“Nope.”

“Let’s check out the other bedroom.”

Lana and Clark walked out of what was going to be their bedroom and into the other one. There was a note on the door that Lana picked up.

“What does it say?” Clark asked.

“Let me read it. ‘Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kent, I left this room empty not knowing what you wanted in it. You can turn it into an office or maybe even a future nursery for a future baby. Ideas just popped into Clark’s mind. Have fun in your new house. Hopefully it will be your new home soon. Lex.’” Lana read.

Clark opened the door and both of them saw an empty room.

“I guess we should leave this room empty for a while. Just until we figure out what we want it for.” Lana said looking around.

It was a smaller version of their room.

“I guess so.”

Clark and Lana walked out of the room and back down the stairs. They went into the living room and sat on their new couch. Clark wrapped his arm around Lana as she rested her head on his shoulder.

“It will be fine, Lana. By next week, this will all seem normal.” Clark said.

“I know but I am just going to miss everyone. I mean Kansas was our home. New York is just the state we moved to.”

“We can make it our home. Wouldn’t you like that?”

“Yes, I guess so.”

“Don’t worry, everything will be fine. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“You promise?”

“I promise. Now, do you know what will probably be fun for you?”

“What?” Lana said looking at Clark’s face.

“Why don’t you go around the house, write down stuff that you think we need? Maybe tomorrow we can go shopping.”

“Fun. See you later.”

Lana got off the couch and started roaming around her new house in search for something that needed to be replaced.

Chapter 3:

Clark woke up to the sunlight hitting his face. They had forgotten to close the curtains so they sun would stay out. He tried to fall back asleep but he couldn’t. Clark looked to his side and saw Lana sleeping peacefully. He got out of bed carefully not wanting to wake up Lana. Clark looked outside the window while yawning and stretching before closing the curtains so Lana wouldn’t have the same problem. He went downstairs and into the kitchen to make a fresh pot of coffee. Once the coffee had filled his cup, Clark took his coffee out to the back yard and sat down on one of the cement steps. It wasn’t a big yard but it had green grass similar to the one in the front yard but instead of a white picket fence, there was a ordinary wood fence blocking off the yards of the their neighbors. In the far left corner of the yard was a medium sized tree with some flowers around it. Clark and Lana had seen the yard yesterday. Lana said that she might plant some more flowers since the yard was so plain but other than that, they liked it. Clark thought that this was going to be great. Yes, he was going to miss his parents along with Lex and Chloe but he would still see them. He was starting a new life with his new wife. It was going to be good. He knew because he wouldn’t have it any other way. Since it was early July, Lana and Clark would start working in late August. They had almost two months to get used to everything in New York. Clark heard the screen door open and turned around. He saw Lana walking down the couple of steps and sitting next to him.

“Good morning.” Clark said kissing Lana.

“Good morning.”

“I thought you were still sleeping.”

“I was but then I woke up.”

Clark laughed.

“Can I have some of your coffee please?” Lana asked.

“Of course.” Clark said giving his coffee cup to Lana.

“Thanks.”

Lana took a sip of the coffee before speaking again.

“I was thinking that we could go around shopping for a couple of things today.”

“If you want but we have to be here between 2 and 6.”

“Why?”

“All of our stuff is coming. Lex said that it would be here today between those times.”

“Right. Then maybe we can go before that.”

“Sure.”

“Then, I am going to take a shower and get changed.”

“I will make breakfast so when you get out we can eat and then I can take a shower and get changed.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

“A very good plan.”

Clark and Lana kissed once more before Lana got up. Once she started walking, Clark hit her on the butt.

“Hey mister, don’t hit me.” Lana joked.

“What are you going to do about it?”

“Hit you back.”

“Let’s see if you can catch me first.”

“I think I can.”

Lana walked back to Clark who had just gotten up. Clark walked around her and into the house. He ran as fast as he could but not fast enough to be using his super speed. Lana ran after him, into the kitchen, up the stairs and into their bedroom. Lana tackled him to the bed.

“I got you.” Lana said looking into Clark’s eyes.

“Yes you did but you haven’t hit me yet.” Clark said.

“Would you settle for a kiss?”

“Yes I would.”

Lana kissed Clark before getting off of him and going on with her day.

Chapter 4:

They had lived in their new house for two months now. Clark had started his job at the New York Times and it was going good. He wasn’t writing the biggest stories but they were big enough to get recognized by people. Lana, on the other hand, was having so much fun at her new job. She had showed the head designer a couple of the sketches she had been working on and the designer loved them. Soon, the clothing that she had drawn were being made and put on models for photo shoots. Clark and Lana talked to Martha and Jonathan everyday but only talked to Chloe and Lex every other day. Chloe had been sending Clark and Lana her articles and Clark had been sending Chloe his. There weren’t many but he always got good feedback from his friend. They had seen Lex once already when he came to New York but only briefly for lunch. Chloe wasn’t coming for another couple of months but Martha and Jonathan were scheduled to come today. Their plane was to arrive in just a few minutes in the airport terminal where Clark and Lana were patiently waiting. Clark watched the door for any signs of his parents while Lana was looking at a magazine.

“Clark, did you here that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are having a baby? I mean come on, can’t they wait until after they’re married. Someone should tell Tom to keep it in his pants.” Lana said flipping through the latest articles about celebrities.

“I think I heard something about that.” Clark said sitting back in his seat.

“Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore got married. What a shame, I really liked Ashton.”

“Maybe you will get to meet him one day.” Clark said.

“Why would I meet Ashton Kutcher?”

“You are in the fashion industry now. Remember, celebrities wear clothes too. Some celebrity is bound to buy your clothing and you go to the fashion shows, there are always big stars there.”

“How do you know so much about fashion?”

“Well, when your wife loves fashion and talks about it a lot, you tend to pick up a couple of things.”

“Right.”

Just as Clark was about to say something else, when the announcer came on.

“Flight 202 from Metropolis, Kansas is now arriving.” The announcer said.

Lana put down her magazine and held onto Clark’s hand.

“They’re here.” Lana said smiling.

“Yes they are.”

Clark and Lana stood up and stared at the door. About twenty people came before Jonathan and Martha but when they did, they had the biggest smiles of all. Clark spotted his parents first soon followed by Lana. Martha dropped her carry on that Jonathan picked up and walked as fast as she could towards Clark and Lana.

“Clark, I have missed you so much.” Martha said hugging him as tight as she could.

“I have missed you too, mom, but you really need to loosen your grip if you want me to continue breathing.” Clark said.

“I’m sorry but I am just so happy to see you. I haven’t seen you since you got married to Lana.” Martha said looking at Lana.

“Lana, how are you?” Martha said moving to hug Lana.

“I am great Martha. It’s very good to see you again.”

“It’s great to see you too.” Martha said before pulling away.

“Dad, are you just going to stand there?” Clark asked.

“Of course not.”

Jonathan placed the two carry on bags on the floor and gave his son a hug.

“The farm isn’t the same without you.” Jonathan said pulling away from the hug.

“I knew it, that’s the only reason that you ever liked me, because I can do the chores in such little time.” Clark said.

“I didn’t mean it like that son.” Jonathan said.

“I know dad. I was just joking.” Clark said.

“We should get your bags. I am sure that you are both very tired from the long trip.” Lana said.

“Actually, Martha slept the whole way, using my shoulder as a pillow.” Jonathan replied.

Clark looked at Lana and Lana knew exactly what Clark was thinking. Lana had done the same thing on their way to New York the first time. She too fell asleep and used her husband’s shoulder as a pillow. Martha and Jonathan stood next to each other and looked at Clark and Lana trying to figure out what was going on but couldn’t.

“Lana’s right. We should get going.” Martha said knocking both Clark and Lana out of their trance.

“Yes we should.” Jonathan said picking up the carry on bags.

“Dad, let me carry those for you.” Clark said trying to get the bags out of his father’s hands.

“Son, I have carried bags before, I can do it again.” Jonathan replied.

“Please, let me.” Clark said once more.

“Clark, don’t argue with your father. Why don’t you carry one bag and Jonathan can carry the other one?” Martha said trying to stop the soon to be fight between father and son.

“Fine mom.” Clark said as his father handed him one of the bags.

Martha and Lana began to walk away from Jonathan and Clark, who were still standing in the terminal.

“What are we ever going to do with those men?” Martha asked.

“You tell me. You have been married to a Kent longer than I have.” Lana answered.

Martha and Lana laughed as Clark and Jonathan stared at them in amazement.

“Son, there goes the two best women in the world.” Jonathan said to his son.

“Thank god we got them when we had the chance. We are two very lucky men.”

“Yes we are.”

Jonathan and Clark followed their wives to baggage claim to get the suitcase that Martha had packed for both her and Jonathan. After they got the suitcase, which seemed to take forever, Clark began on insisting taking the suitcase to the car instead of his dad.

“Dad, come on, you are my guest, let me take the bag.” Clark began.

“Clark, let go of the bag. I can carry it by myself.”

“Dad, it’s heavy. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.”

“I can’t believe that you just said that. I can carry this bag fine.”

“Even if you can, let me carry it.”

Before Jonathan could have his say, Lana walked in between both of them. She pulled up the handle and wheeled the suitcase away from the two men leaving them both speechless. Martha left as well to catch up with Lana.

“I am so glad that you did that. When Clark and Jonathan start something, they will never end it.” Martha said.

“I had to do something. Next time, we should just let them get into a fight so security could hand cuff them for getting into a fight in a public airport.”

“Sounds like a plan, Mrs. Kent.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Kent.”

Martha laughed, as did Lana while they both walked into the parking garage that Clark had parked the car earlier. Before the two men could start another fight, Lana had already put the suitcase inside the trunk of the car. The two women waited outside by the car for their husbands. When they saw both of them walking towards them, they got into the car and started it up.

“Lana, what do you say we play a little trick on the Kent men.” Martha said.

“What do you have in mind, Martha?”

Once Martha told Lana her plan, Lana pulled out of the parking space and waited for Clark and Jonathan to get close enough. When they were closer, Lana began to drive away leaving both men astonished at what she did.

“Lana! Get back here!” Clark shouted.

“I can’t believe she did that.” Jonathan said.

“I can’t either.”

“She is your wife.”

“Your wife was sitting right next to her. I bet she had something to do with it.”

“Your mother would never do that.”

“Yes she would.” Lana said from behind them.

Lana had circled around the parking lot and stopped right behind them.

“Get in before we change our minds.” Lana said.

“How do we know you won’t drive away again once we get close?” Clark asked.

“Don’t you trust me?”

“No.”

“Come on, Clark. Your mother and I just wanted to have a little fun. Hurry up and get in before we try it again and this time, we will leave you here.” Lana said.

“Fine.”

Jonathan and Clark walked to the car and sat in the back. Clark sat behind the driver’s seat, where Lana was, and Jonathan sat behind the passenger’s seat where Martha was.

“I still can’t believe you did that.” Clark said.

“It was your mother’s idea.” Lana replied.

“I told you mom did it.” Clark told his dad.

“Martha, that was a little bit rude.” Jonathan joked.

“What was rude was the way that you and Clark were fighting in the airport. We are supposed to have fun the week that we are here. Enjoy New York and the company because you don’t know the next time we will all see each other.” Martha said.

“Sorry.” Clark and Jonathan said simultaneously.

Lana started driving the car towards their house.

“Lana, I hope that you have enough space in that house of yours.” Martha said.

“Of course we do. What used to be an empty room is now a guest bedroom. You have your own bathroom and a big closet. Everything is all ready for you.”

“Thank you but really we could have stayed in a hotel.” Martha said.

“Mom, please. You and dad are not staying in a hotel when there is plenty of space at our house.”

“I guess your right, son.” Martha added.

I'm very sorry I haven't updated in forever but after a while of not writing, I sort of forgot about my stories. I re-read the story but can't seem to find anything to write after the last chapter. If you have any ideas, let me know by sending me a message or posting something here. Again, I'm sorry and I'll try to think of something to write.
