Lana Lang walked down the steps of her apartment over the coffee shop. Lois and Martha hadn't arrived yet, so she thought she would make the first pot of coffee. When the coffee was finished she grabbed herself a cup and sat down.

Clark Kent was outside of the barn doing his daily chores. He was running late this morning and was trying to hurry. He had promised his mother that he would deliver the muffins to the Talon, so they would stay fresh for the customers. He threw the last hay stack onto the back of the truck and sighed. He was tired already, and the day had barely began.

When Lana finally came out of her daydream, she realized that she had let her coffee get cold. She hated cold coffee and stared at the cup for a moment. Then she smiled and raised the steaming cup up to her lips.

Clark tried to open the Talon door, but it was locked. He looked inside and saw that Lana was sitting at the counter. He knocked on the window. Lana looked up surprised and saw that it was Clark. She hopped up smiling, and opened up the door to let him in.

"Clark, you're here early." she said.

"Yeah, i'm running errands for my mom, she's not feeling to good." said Clark.

"Have you been working hard this morning? You look flushed." said Lana.

"Sometimes the morning chores take alot out of you." said Clark.

"I can understand why, I imagine a farm is tough to run." she said. Clark nodded and she realized he was still standing outside with the muffins in his hand. "Oh, I'm sorry, c'mon in." she said, opening the door wider, motioning for him to come in.

Clark walks in and walks to the counter, he puts down the muffins. "My mom wanted these to be fresh."

Lana laughs. "I think the customers will appreciate it."

Lois walks in and walks to the counter. "Sorry I'm late, I had gotten up earlier this morning, but someone," she looked pointedly at Clark. "had used all the hot water in his shower marathon."

"I was baling hay, I needed a shower." said Clark.

"Oh, I know you did." said Lois sarcastically. Clark rolled his eyes.

Lana laughs. "Well, I've gotta go, I wanted to spend some time in the caves, I haven't been down there in a while."

"I'll never understand your obsession with that rat trap." said Lois.

"It's peaceful down there." she said and began walking towards the door. "Bye Clark." she said, smiling at him as she walked out.

"Bye." he said, still staring at her as she left.

Lois watched him and rolled her eyes. "Y'know, you're never going to get her if all you do is watch her from the sidelines."

"She has secrets Lois, I don't know if I could start a relationship with someone that can't be completely honest with me." said Clark, looking down at his shoes.

"As many times as she has saved your life, I didn't think that would matter." said Lois before walking into the back room.

(Here's a hint so it won't be so confusing, whatever secrets Clark had, are now Lana's. Now Clark is the one having to deal with the issues of someone you love having secrets.)

Nell is down in the caves when Lana walks in.

"Aunt Nell, what are you doing here?" asked Lana, curiosly.

"Well, I know you come down here alot, trying to decipher your heritage, and I want to help you. At first I didn't want you to do it, but then I realized, standing in your way only made you more determined." she said.

"Thanks." said Lana.

"I'm just afraid that you will be devastated if you find something about them that you weren't expecting. I remember how devasteted the Kent boy was after learning that Martha and Johnathon weren't his real parents." said Nell.

"He never really talks about it." said Lana.

"I guess when you're adopted, you don't want to think about your parents being killed." said Nell.

"His parents were killed in the meteor shower right?" asked Lana.

"That's right." said Nell.

"So, in a way, i'm responsible for their death." said Lana, looking at the floor.

"No honey, you weren't responsible." said Nell, putting a hand on Lana's shoulder.

"If I hadn't have come here, Clark would still be with his family." said Lana.

"Lana, you don't know that, the meteor shower could have come inevitably." said Nell. "You were just a girl when you came to me. You had no control of how you came here. It's not your fault."

"I still feel like it is." said Lana, and walked out of the caves.

Kent Farm, Clark is in the kitchen putting away groceries, there is a knock on the door.

"Come in." yells Clark. The screen door opens and Lana walks in. "Hey Lana, this is a surprise."

"Hey Clark, I was just walking, didn't want to go home, ended up here."

"I'm glad you're here, conversation with you is a lot better than conversation with these carrots." said Clark, holding up a couple of carrots and putting them in the sink. Lana laughs.

"Is your mom feeling any better?" asked Lana.

"Not really. She claimed she was fine, but my dad insisted on taking her to the doctor in Metropolis." said Clark.

"I'm sorry to hear that." said Lana. She watches him put away the groceries for a moment. "Clark, I don't want to bring up any bad memories, but my aunt and I were talking earlier, and somehow we came onto the topic of you."

"Really?" asked Clark. "What about?"

"Your adoption." said Lana, smiling weakly.

Clark looks at her a moment, and then grabs the empty bag in front of him. He tosses it in the garbage. "What about it?" he asked.

"I was just wondering if you remembered your birth parents at all." said Lana.

"Not really, I didn't know I was adopted until I was 8." said Clark. "Do you remember your birth parents?" asked Clark.

"Bits and peices, but, nothing major." said Lana.

"Well...what DO you remember?" asked Clark.

Lana was silent a moment and then smiled. "My mother's name was Lara."

"Lara?" Clark asked, leaning against the kitchen counter.

"Yeah. I didn't even remember that until I started getting these flashes." she said.

"Flashes? When did those start?" asked Clark.

Looking around nervously. "Y'know what? Doesn't matter." she said, smiling. "I was just wondering if you'd ever considered researching your family."

Clark sighs. 'She changed the subject AGAIN.' he thought. "No, I don't think I want to look them up."

"Why?" asked Lana curiously.

"Because, whether they were good or bad people, their gone. I don't want to look them up and regret even more not being able to meet them." he said, looking at his shoes.

"That's understandable Clark." she said, also looking at her shoes.

"Lana, what's REALLY the matter? I can always tell when you're being less than truthful." said Clark, taking a step closer to Lana, concern on his face.

"I am so sorry for what happened to your parents Clark." she said softly.

"It was a long time ago Lana. And it's not like it was your fault. It was a meteor shower, unstoppable." he said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Lana looked up at him and smiled weakly. "I know."

Clark gave her a smile and stepped away from her, he turned around and went to the sink. Lana watched him, thinking to herself. 'I never knew he was so sensitive.' she thought to herself. She looked away from him, and down at her shoes. 'I can't believe i've never looked at Clark romantically before.' she thought. 'Now I can't seem to stop myself.'

"Lana, what's wrong? You look flushed." said Clark, again facing her. He walked up to her and put his hand on her forehead. "You're warm, maybe you should go home and lay down." he said, gently.

"I'll be okay Clark." she said, smiling at him. 'He'll never accept me. Not if he knew the truth.' Lana stepped away from him. "I better go, Nell wants to spend some alone time with me."

"Sounds fun." said Clark.

"It won't be, but, it'll keep her happy." said Lana, heading for the door. "Bye Clark." She walks out and places a hand on her neck. 'I really AM hot.' she thought, and got in her car.

Clark watches her leave out the window. 'She'll never see me the way I see her.' he thought.

The Talon, Clark is sitting at the counter, talking to Martha, who is also serving drinks. Lana comes out of her apartment, and sees Clark. She leans against the railing and listens in on their conversation.

"Clark, i'm fine. Stop worrying about me." said Martha.

"I can't help it mom, I guess a part of me has abandonment issues." said Clark.

"I'm not abandoning you! And neither is your father." she said, giving a customer a drink. "Hold on a minute Clark, i'm going to call Lois in." she said, and left the counter. Clark held his head in his hands.

'He's in so much pain.' thought Lana, looking down on him sympathetically. 'I thought I was the only one in Smallville afraid of being alone.'

"Hey Lana!" Lana snapped out of her gaze and looked down to who was yelling at her.

"Hey Chloe. What's up?" she asked, coming down the stairs. Chloe took a couple of steps towards her.

"What's with the Kent gazing?" whispered Chloe.

"I don't know, I guess I didn't realize how much Clark and I have in common." said Lana.

"Well, it sounds like you're starting to share mutual feelings too." said Chloe, smiling.

"What do you mean?" asked Lana.

"Oh please. Like you didn't know Clark has been in love with you since we were five!" said Chloe.

"He has?" asked Lana, looking over at Clark, whose head was still in his hands. "No..I-I didn't know." said Lana, still looking at Clark.

Lois walks up to them and sees Lana looking at Clark. "What's with the Clark fix?" she asked.

Chloe laughed. "She didn't know that Clark's in love with her."

"You didn't know? That's old news, and I'm new here." said Lois.

Lana looks at the other girls. "Does EVERYBODY know about his feelings?" she asked.

"Everyone but you." said Lois.

"And don't look now, but Clark just realized you were in the room." said Chloe.

Lana looked over at Clark and Clark quickly looked back down at the counter, blushing. 'He likes me?' Lana thought to herself. "Why hasn't he said anything?" asked Lana.

Chloe laughed. "You do realize that Clark won the award for 'most bashful' in school right?" asked Chloe.

Lois rolled her eyes and went behind the counter.

"What's up Clark?" asked Lois as Lana and Chloe took seats on opposite sides of him.

"Nothing." he said, turning even redder than he already was.

"You look like a radish." said Chloe.

"Gee thanks." said Clark, looking over at her.

Lex walks into the Talon and over to the counter as well. "Hey Clark, you're mom feeling any better?"

Thankful to get the attention off him, Clark turned in his stool. "Yeah, thanks for the doctors Lex, my parents appreciate it."

"Happy that I could help." said Lex. "Even happier that your dad actually let me."

"Lois! You're here, thank goodness!" said Martha, coming around the counter to stand by Lois. "The afternoon rush is about to start, I didn't think I could handle it by myself."

"Still feeling under the weather Mrs. Kent?" asked Chloe.

Martha looked at Clark. "Just a sore throat." she said more to Clark than anyone else.

Clark rolled his eyes and stood up. "I'm going to go finish putting up the gate at home." he said and walked out.

Lex took his seat at the counter and looked at Lana. "He asked you out yet?"

"Why didn't anyone tell me about this!?!" exclaimed Lana.

Kent Farm, Clark is putting up a new wood gate. Lana walks up to stand beside him.

"Looks like fun." she says.

"Tons." Clark says and takes off the gloves he was wearing.

"Listen Clark, there's something that I need to talk to you about." said Lana, looking embarrased.

"What is it?" asks Clark.

"Well.." said Lana, suddenly her head started to hurt, she put a hand to her head and looked out into the Kent feild. Her eyes started to burn and the next minute she knew, the feild was ablaze. Clark saw the fire start and hopped the fence, trying to beat the fire out with his jacket. "What happened?" he asked.

"I don't know." she said. "I have to go, I'll talk to you tommorow." she said and rushed down the gravel drive way. Clark stomped out the last of the fire, and watched Lana go.

Talon, upstairs apartment, Lana is pacing the room, and there is a knock on the door. She rushes over to the door and opens it. "Aunt Nell, thanks for coming over on such short notice." she said.

"It sounded important." said Nell, looking at Lana with concern.

"I've...sort of...developed a new ability." said Lana.

Nell was silent a moment. "What kind of ability?" asked Nell.

"Earlier, I was at the Kent's talking to Clark, and my head started to hurt, and then my eyes started to burn." said Lana, starting to pace again. "The next thing I knew, the Kent feild was on fire."

"ON FIRE?!?"

"Shhh! Yes, on fire. I don't know how it happened!" said Lana.

"Well, let's think about this." said Nell, taking a seat. "What were you thinking about when this happened?"

Lana stopped pacing and looked embarrased. "Uh, can we start on that one later?"

(I can't believe I forgot about that! I'll fix that problem in this chapter.)

"Okay, so, this is the first time that this has happened?" asked Nell.

Lana looked at her hands. "Um...actually no. I got the heat vison a couple of weeks ago."

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" asked Nell.

"I didn't know how you would react." said Lana.

"This is too important for you to think about my reactions Lana. You could have hurt someone." said Nell.

"But the point is, I didn't!" said Lana.

"But you COULD have." said Nell. They looked at each other a moment. Nell sighed. "Okay, I think what we need to do now, is learn how to control this."

"I think I know what triggers it. The first time it happened I was watching the movie "Cheaper by the dozen", I kind of have a crush on the oldest son." said Lana embarrassed.

"Oh, so it's THAT kind of thing?" asked Nell.

"Yeah." said Lana, turning red.

"Okay, well, lets see if we can't find a solution." said Nell. "C'mon." They walk out of the apartment.

Kent Farm, Clark is up in the loft, looking out the window. Martha walks up and sees him.

"Clark, what's wrong?" she asks, coming to stand beside him.

"Something really weird happened today while I was talking to Lana." said Clark.

"What?" asked Martha.

"Well, we were talking out by the feild when suddenly the feild caught on fire." said Clark.

"On fire?" asked Martha. "Wow."

"I might be just be making silly assumptions, but I think Lana started it." said Clark.

In a field, Lana and Nell are standing in the middle of it.

"Okay, now focus on the stick laying in the field, and try to ignite it." said Nell.

Lana stood there staring at it for a minute, and blushed. "This might be easier if I was-"

"Alone." said Nell, smiling. "Gotcha." she walks back over to her car and sits on top of it, facing the opposite direction of Lana.

Lana again focuses on the stick. After a moment of silence, she smiles. "Clark." she said, and the stick ignited at once.

(Again sorry for the shortness, comp is not really working tonight.)

The Talon, Clark is sitting at the counter staring into nothing, Lois, who is behind the counter, notices this and cocks her head.

"What's the matter Smallville? Cows not cooperate this morning?" she asked, smiling.

Clark continued to stare into nothing. "If you had thoughts about someone you love, thoughts that might change the way you feel about a person...would you pursue the thought to see if it was a fact?"

"So you HAVE been checking me out." said Lois. When she saw Clark's expression she turned serious. "Listen Clark, if you think it might change for the worse, then no, leave the thoughts to just that...thoughts. But, if you think it will change for the better, I say go for it."

Clark was silent for a moment. "But what if you're not sure how it will change?"

"Then I guess you'll have to decide." said Lois, handing Clark a cup of coffee. "Is the part their willing to share with you, better than not having them in your life at all?"

Clark took a sip of his coffee and nodded.

Lana walked into the Talon. She walked to the stairs that led up to her apartment and smiled at Clark. She continued up the stairs and went inside.

"Here's your chance to decide what you want to do." said Lois.

"How do you know I was talking about Lana?" asked Clark.

"Clark, she's the only girl you've ever been half-way interested in. You look at every other girl on the planet as if we were aliens." said Lois.

Clark smiled at her and stood up, he began walking up the steps to Lana's apartment.

There was a knock on Lana's apartment door. She knew immediately who it was. She smiled and opened the door.

"Hi Clark." she said, motioning for him to come in.

"Hey.."

Lana looked into his face for a minute. "What's on your mind? It looks like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders."

Clark smiled and looked at his hands. "Lana, there's something I need to tell you."

"What is it?" asked Lana, face filled with concern.

Clark sighed and took a seat on the couch. "Lana, I know you have secrets. And, I'm okay with that. So, I came here to confess something."

Lana looked away for a minute and took a deep breath. She looked back at him expectantly.

Clark looked embarrased and stood up, he turned away from her, to hide his face. "I've had feelings for you a long time. For years I hoped that you would someday have feelings for me too."

"Clark-"

"It's okay if you don't. I understand. I just hated the feeling of seeing you everyday without you knowing the way I feel about you." Clark smiled and put a hand to his head. "Is it hot in here to you?"

Lana put a hand on his shoulder and turned him around. "Clark, I can't tell you what's going to happen between us. I never let myself think about relationships because there is something about me that told me I wasn't allowed to have one."

"Why wouldn't you be able to have one?" asked Clark.

"Because there are things about me that certain people wouldn't accept." this time it was Lana who turned away.

Clark grabbed her shoulder and turned her around. He was silent a moment. "Promise to tell me about those things some day?" he asked.

Lana looked into his eyes a moment and slowly nodded, and smiled. "I promise."

Clark reached down and took her hands. "I've tried for years to be the perfect guy for you Lana." he said.

Lana looked at him, face getting red. "Clark....you never had to try."

Clark smiled, leaned in, and kissed her.

Clark and Lana were sitting at a table in the Talon when Nell walked in. She looked at Lana, and then Lana and Clark's entwined hands.

"Can I talk to you for a minute Lana?" asked Nell.

"Sure." said Lana standing up and walking to the side with her aunt.

"Did you tell him?" asked Nell.

"Of course not." said Lana.

Nell sighed and shook her head. "It's not fair to him Lana."

"I know." said Lana, looking back at Clark, who was talking to the waitressing Lois. "But I think I could trust him."

Nell also looked at Clark. "Are you sure you want to take that risk?"

Lana shook her head. "No. But I think I'm going to."

Nell put a hand on Lana's shoulder. "I'm not going to make your decisions for you Lana, but I just want to make sure you know..that whatever decisions you make, you have to live with the consequences."

"I know." said Lana looking down at her shoes.

"I know you want someone just for you Lana, and I understand that." said Nell.

"You can't understand." said Lana.

"You're right. I can't." said Nell. "Just make sure that Clark is the one that you want to share it with. You may only get this chance once." she looked at Lana a minute and walked out.

Lana sighed and looked over at Clark, who was laughing with Lois. Was he the guy she wanted to trust?

Lex walked into the Talon and saw Lana staring over at Clark, who was talking to Lois. He walked over to her and looked at Clark.

"Wow, I didn't know that Lana had eye candy." said Lex.

Lana laughed and looked over at Lex. "There is just so many decisions that I have to make."

Lex nodded his head. "Care to delve into your problems with me?"

Lana shook her head and looked back over at Clark. "No, I have to make these decisions on my own."

"That's a little cryptic, but i'll take it." said Lex, and sat at the table with Clark.

"Hey Lex." said Clark. Lois wrote something down on the notepad she had in her hand and walked over to the counter.

"Hello Clark." he said and smiled. Lana sat down at the table next to Clark and Clark took her hand in his. "Is this a dream?"

"What do you mean?" asked Clark.

"Did Clark Kent ACTUALLY make a move?" asked Lex skeptically.

Lana laughed and looked at Clark. "Yes he did." Clark looked at her and blushed.

"Clark, they next color you're going to turn is purple, you had better breath." joked Lex.

Clark looked over at Lex and looked towards the counter embarrased. "Here comes Lois." said Clark, watching Lois approach them with 3 cups.

Lois set the cups in front of the 3. "Look, it's my 3 most frequent customers. I can make you guy's drinks with my eyes closed." said Lois, and walked back to the counter.

"She's odd." said Lex, and picked up his cup.

"And annoying." joked Clark, who also picked up his cup. He looked over at Lana, who was lost in thought. "What's on your mind?" he asked.

Lana noticed him looking at her and smiled. "N-nothing..it's nothing." she said and also picked up her cup.

"She's odd too." said Lex.

"And beautiful." said Clark, and laughed when Lana looked at him with an embarrased look on her face.

Kent Farm, Clark is putting hay stacks in the back of the truck. Lana walks up. Clark smiles at her and puts the last hay stack in the truck.

"Hey." said Clark.

"hey." said Lana. Clark leans in a kisses her. "Finished?" she asked.

"Yep, just got done." he said.

"Are you ready then?" asked Lana, a smile slowly spreading on her face.

"Ready for what?" asked Clark.

"You'll see." said Lana taking his hand. Clark smiled and they walked together down the dirt road.

In the middle of a feild, they walk up to a tree, there is a blanket set in front of the tree.

"What's this?" asked Clark, grinning.

"It's a picnic." said Lana. "Sit down." said Lana, motioning to the blanket.

Clark smiles again and sits down, Lana sits in between his legs and leans against him. She notices Clark becoming distant. "What is it?" she asked.

"Nothing." he said, smiling. "Everything's great."

"Y'know," said Lana, looking up at him. "I can always tell when you're being less than truthful."

Clark smiled. "It's just that. I've waited for this for so long, for us...I don't want it to go away." he said.

Lana smiled at him and put a hand to his face. "I'm not going anywhere." she said.

"Neither am I." said Clark, looking into her eyes. He leaned down and kissed her.

The Talon, Lana was leaning against the railing by the steps that led to her apartment watching Clark talk to Chloe. Was he the one she wanted to tell? She couldn't make out what exactly she felt for him. She smiled when she saw Clark laugh at Chloe. 'I just need more time'. She thought to herself. But something in the back of her mind was telling her that time was running out.

Clark noticed Lana watching him and he smiled at her. "Hi." he mouthed at her.

"Hi." mouthed Lana back.

He continued to talk to Chloe, but his eyes kept drifting back to her. When she caught him looking at her, he got a devilish look in his eyes, then he would blush and look back at Chloe.

"Oh go over there already!" said Chloe, aggravated that he wasn't paying attention to there conversation.

"What are you talking about? We were in the middle of a conversation." said Clark.

Chloe rolled her eyes. " When I asked you what you wanted to drink, and you said 'pepperoni', I got the feeling that you were too distracted by something or someONE else." said Chloe.

He smiled. "Sorry Chloe."

"Some things never change." said Chloe, and sighed. "Go talk to her." she said and turned to talk to Martha, who was behind the counter serving drinks.

When Lana saw Clark heading towards her, her heart melted. 'Yes, he's definately the one.' she thought, and smiled.

"What's that smile for?" asked Clark, who was now beside her. He leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"Just thinking." said Lana.

"About what?" asked Clark.

"You'll find out soon enough." said Lana, continuing to smile.

Lana didn't know exactly how to tell him. She would think about it later, right now she just wanted to spend time with Clark.

"I had fun at the picnic." said Clark.

"It was nice." said Lana, still watching Clark.

Clark could feel her gaze on him, it made him embarrased, he started to blush.

"SOMEBODY CALL 911!" yelled Lois, who had just walked in the door.

"What is it?" asked Lana, suddenly concerned.

"I think Clark has stopped breathing, he's starting to turn purple." said Lois, pointing at Clark.

Clark was so embarrassed he actually was turning colors.

Kent Farm, Clark is looking out his telescope in the loft.

"Son?" Johnathon said, coming up the stairs.

Clark looked up from his telescope. "Yeah dad?"

"Your mother tells me that you think Lana started a fire out in the field." said Johnathon.

"No, it was just a stupid thought." said Clark, turning away from his dad and looking out the window.

Johnathon walked up behind Clark and stood beside him. "Be that as it may, just remember that their are people out there that were affected by meteor rocks. It doesn't make them bad people, but, it changes them."

"I know dad." said Clark.

"Remember Tina Greer? She wasn't a bad person..it's just." Johnathon looks over at his son. "She wanted something you didn't."

"I know, then she transformed into Lana and came on to me." said Clark, walking away from the window to sit on the couch.

"We were lucky that Lana saw her for what she was." said Johnathon, facing Clark. "She saved your life that day."

"Where are you going with this dad?" asked Clark.

Johnathon shook his head. "I know that you like Lana, and you two have finally started a relationship, but...don't rule out the possibility that she might be infected."

"Why would that even matter?" asked Clark.

"It shouldn't...but the meteors sometimes make people hide who they really are." said Johnathon.

"So, you're saying that I might not really know who Lana is?" asked Clark.

"I'm afraid so son." said Johnathon.

The Talon, upstairs apartment. There is a knock on the door, Lana opens it to find Clark.

"Clark! What are you doing here so late?" she asked.

"I've been thinking..." said Clark.

"This can't be good." said Lana, motioning for Clark to come in.

Clark walked in and turned around to face her as she was closing the door. "I've liked you a long time Lana...but....I don't really know who you are."

Lana looked at him, surprise on her face. "Well..um.." she said and smiled. "What do you want to know?"

Clark sighed and shook his head. He looked down to his shoes and back up to Lana. "Were you infected by the meteor rocks?"

Lana's eyes widened in surprise as she stood there, her mouth open with shock.

Lana continuted to gape at him.

"Lana?" asks Clark, looking at her with concern.

Lana realizes that her jaw is dropped and she closes her mouth. "Clark.."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked, it's not of my business. If you never want to speak to me again, I completely understand." said Clark, turning to the door to leave.

Lana grabs his arm and turns him around. "No."

Clark gives her a confused look. "No what?" he asked.

"No, I wasn't infected by the meteor rocks." said Lana.

Clark nods. "I'm sorry, it was a stupid assumption, it's just we were talking, and then the feild was on fire, I-"

"Clark." said Lana, she shut her eyes and took a deep breath, then looked back at Clark. "The meteors didn't make me who I am." When Clark gave her a blank look she continued. "I wasn't born any where near Smallville." Clark widened his eyes. "In fact...I wasn't born anywhere near this galaxy"

"W-what? So you're saying you're an a-..." He couldn't finish the sentence.

"Yeah." said Lana.

"But, you look so..." started Clark.

"Human?" asks Lana.

"Yeah."

"I'm still the same person." said Lana, touching Clark's arm.

Clark looked at her, knowing that she was excited and terrified at the same time. "Lana, I think that you are...amazing."

Lana looked at him with confusion. "You save people's lives everyday and take zero credit for it. To me, you're not just a hero, you're a super hero." said Clark.

"Clark..." said Lana.

"I don't care where you're from, or what you are. You're more human than most people will ever be." said Clark. He shook his head. "I'm not going to lie. I'm going to have to process this. It may take a while. But I promise you...your promise will never leave my lips."

Lana put a hand on Clark's face. "Thank you."

"No.." said Clark. "Thank YOU for bieng honest with me. If I was in your situation I don't know if I would have the courage to tell anyone."

Lana smiled. "I have no doubt in my mind, that you would." Clark smiled at her.

(Sorry for the Smallville quotes, I thought it was fitting.)

Kent Farm, the loft, Clark is leaning against the wall, staring out the window. Martha walks up.

"Clark? Are you alright, your father and I haven't really seen you the last couple of days." said Martha.

"Just trying to clear my head." said Clark, continuing to stare out the window.

"I don't suppose you can tell your mother what's troubling you."

Clark sighed. "Nope."

Martha nodded. "Well, once you get everything settled, dinners ready if you're hungry."

"okay, thanks mom." said Clark, still unmoving. Martha walked down the stairs. Clark looked back to make sure she was gone and put a hand to his head. Did it really matter where Lana was from? he asked himself. He was already sure of his feelings for her, that had never changed. But to know that she wasn't human? Clark began pacing the loft. She looked human, she FELT human, and she sure as hell SMELT human. Clark stopped pacing and looked back out the window. Yeah, he was okay with it. After all, it was Lana.

Talon, Lana is talking to Lois. Clark walks in and walks directly to Lana.

"Hey Clark-" that is all she got before Clark planted a kiss on her.

"Geez, you must be hungry Clark, you almost ate her face." said Lois, rolling her eyes and walking away.

Lana and Clark didn't hear her, they were concentrated on each other.

"I thought you weren't ready?" said Lana, gazing into Clark's eyes.

"I wasn't..." said Clark, and he stroked her cheek. "I am now."

Lana smiled. "You're okay....with everything?" asked Lana.

"Yes." said Clark. "I'm DEFINATELY okay."

The Talon, Martha is behind the counter with Lois, they are talking.

"I feel like I haven't talked to Clark in days, every morning he gets up, does his chores, takes a shower, and goes somewhere with Lana. God knows what thier doing." said Martha. Lois looked at her and raised her eyebrows. Martha's eyes widen. "I don't even want to think about it." said Martha, and made herself busy serving drinks.

"Sorry Mrs. Kent, but it looks like Clark has finally discovered girls." said Lois.

"I prefer not to talk about what 'things' he HAS discovered." said Martha.

"Yeah, I don't want to think about it either, why don't we get off the discussion of Clark's relationship?" asked Lois.

"Sounds good to me." said Martha. At that moment Clark and Lana walked in, arms entwined. Martha looks up and sees them heading towards her. "What have you two been up to?" Lois groaned behind her.

"I'm taking a break." said Lois and left the counter.

"Celebrating our 4 month anniversary." said Clark.

"Has it been that long already?" asked Martha.

"It's hard to believe isn't it?" said Lana. "5 months ago I never would have thought that Clark and I would be a couple."

"I did." said Martha. Clark looked at her with wide eyes. Lana looked at her in curiousity.

"What do you mean?" asked Lana.

"She doesn't mean anything...right mom?" Clark said, eyes telling her not to go on.

Martha shrugged off Clark's look and continued. "Clark used to scribble your name all over his notebooks."

"OH MOM!" said Clark, covering his face with his hands.

"It was the cutest thing. Imagine having a 5 year old who everyday asked how to spell Lana." said Martha.

"Aww." said Lana, putting an arm around Clark.

"This is so embarrassing." said Clark, he looked up at his mom. "I gave you the SIGNAL!" said Clark.

"What signal?" asked Lana.

"Everytime I touch a subject that Clark is sensitive to, he widens his eyes and tries to get me away from it." said Martha. "I stopped paying attention to his signal a long time ago."

"The mail man has a photo graphic memory of my butt in his mind." said Clark. "Mom showed him a picture of me as a baby."

"Kurt was real close to our family when Clark was younger. He has seen every picture of Clark I own." said Martha.

"I need some fresh air." said Clark and walked outside. Martha and Lana laughed hysterically.

Months passed as Clark and Lana enjoyed pure bliss. They could be themselves with each other, there was no tension or secrets. Every person that they passed on the street was almost jealous of the type of relationship they had. When Clark and Lana had been dating for almost 2 years, and lived together for 1 year, Clark decided he needed a change.

Clana's apartment, Lana is sitting on the couch reading a book when Clark walks in, a grim look on his face. Lana noticed this and stood up. "What is it Clark?" she asked, coming to give Clark a kiss. Clark pulled away. "What's wrong?"

"We've been together for almost 2 years Lana. And nothing is changing, it stays the same EVERY day." said Clark.

"What are you saying?" asks Lana, afraid of the answer.

"I need a change." says Clark.

"I see." says Lana, tears forming in her eyes.

"So, there is only 1 thing we can do about this." said Clark, looking at the floor.

Lana wipes the tears away that were streaming down here cheeks. "I'll go pack my things."

"Wait. What?" asks Clark, putting a hand to her face. "No, Lana. I wanted to ask you to marry me."

Lana was speechless for a minute. "What?" asked Lana.

"I'm just a little upset that I couldn't you a ring I thought you deserved." Clark pulled out a small jewelry box from his pocket. "So this will have to do for now." he opened the box for her.

Lana put a hand to her chest and gasped. It was a beautiful ring.

"Lana Elizabeth Lang." said Clark, a smile spreading across his face. "Will you marry me?"

Lana laughed and threw her arms around Clark. "Yes!" she said.

Clark pulled her close to him and laughed. He was so relieved. He was afraid she would reject him. He pulled back and carefully placed the ring on Lana's finger. She kissed him and held on to his face, looking into his eyes. "I would have married you the moment I saw you." she whispered, and kissed him again.

"WHAT!?!?!" exclaimed Martha on the phone. Johnathon ran in from outside.

"What is it sweetheart?" asked Johnathon.

Martha looked over at her husband and covered the mouth peice. "Lana and Clark just got engaged."

Johnathon gave Martha a surprised look, then he smiled. "We knew this day was coming Martha."

Martha began to smile as well. Yes, they did.

Pete came to town for the very first time since he left a couple of months later. Clark had asked him to be his best man. He had readily agreed.

It was the night of the rehearsal dinner. Clark and Lana were holding hands, talking to their friends and family.

"Everyone knew this was coming, Clark's been in love with you since the moment he saw you!." said Pete.

"Literally." said Chloe.

"I wish I had known sooner." said Lana, looking lovingly up at her fiance'.

"He's always been the shy type." said Martha. "He would never let on what his feelings were."

"We can hardly get his feelings out NOW." said Chloe.

"But we're glad you finally made it to this point. Now maybe we can see you two happy for a change." said Johnathon.

"I'm happy." said Clark, looking down at Lana.

"So am I." said Lana, looking back up at Clark.

"So, can we get this party started yet?" asked Lois, walking into the room with champagne in her hand.

"Lois, I'm getting married tommorow, the last thing I need is a hang over." said Clark.

"I don't get hang overs." said Lana teasingly. "But i'm not a drinker."

Lois rolled her eyes. "C'mon, this is you guys' LAST night single! You're not even having a bachlor or bachlorette party!"

Clark sighed. "Okay, just a little though."

Lois whooped. "That's the spirit Smallville!"

Later that night, Clark is on a pedestal, singing to Lana.

"I can't see me loving no body but YOU, for all my life!!!"

It was finally the day of their wedding. Clark waited patiently at the end of aisle, anxious to see his soon to be bride. When the music started Pete clapped him on the shoulder, smiling. Lois, Chloe, and Martha smiled at him from the other side, they were the maidens of honor. Clark smiled back, butterflies in his stomach. He looked down at his dad, who looked like he wanted to cry, but never looked more proud of his son than he did now. Finally, he watched the doors open, and caught a glimpse of his beautiful bride-to-be. His beautiful Lana. He caught his breath as he watched her take steps down the aisle. She watched him just as intently as he was watching her. The closer she got, the wider their smiles seemed to grow. Finally she came to stand beside him. He eagerly took her hands in his. Henry Small kissed his daughter on the cheek, and took his seat.

"Dearly beloved.." started the minister.

Clark was too enthralled by the beauty of Lana to listen. Only when he heard Pete whisper. "PSST! Clark, say I do!" Did he speak.

"I do." he said, and their family and friends chuckled.

Then Lana said her I do's. What seemed like a second later, the minister was telling Clark to kiss his bride. He did, for about 2 minutes too long. Lana and Clark looked happily out at thier friends and family, showing off thier joined hands with rings on their fingers.

"Now Clark." said Chloe. "Lois and I have a question for you."

"Yeah." said Lois. "When can we expect a little one?"

Clark looked over at Lana nervously. "......uh......."

Lana laughed and looked over at Lois and Chloe. "I'm thinking we'll start working on that tonight."

Everyone was at the reception. It was held outside the Kent house. Clark and Lana had changed their clothes, exactly like everyone else had and were now talking to everyone. Clark's hand began to hurt because he had shaken hands so many times. He thought he would dream about the word "Congratulations."

He told Lana this, and she laughed. Then it was time for Lana and Clark to have their first dance as husband and wife. Chloe chuckled to herself because she got to choose the song they danced to. Martha slapped her on the arm when "WHEN I THINK ABOUT YOU I TOUCH MYSELF." blared out of the radio. Martha took out that CD and put in one of her own.

When Lana and Clark got out their fit of laughter, they danced to the only song that meant something to both of them. "You and Me." by Lifehouse.

There was laughter and there were tears that night. But one thing was agreed through out the entire party. It was a night to remember.

After everyone had left but the inside gang. Things started to get quiet. They were inside the Kent house, talking around the table. Pete was just telling them what he had been up to in Wichita.

"Well, my mom really like's it up there. But, now that i've graduated from high school, i'm thinking about moving to Metropolis. Met U has dorms right?" asked Pete.

"Yeah." said Chloe. "That's where I'm going."

"Where are you going Clark?" asked Chloe.

"I was planning on going to Cental Kansas,..but, now I'm going where ever my wife goes." said Clark, smiling at Lana.

Lana laughed. "That sounds so weird doesn't it?"

"What? Calling you my wife?" asked Clark.

"Yeah." she said.

"It is something that we're all going to have to get used to." said Chloe.

Lana smiled at Clark. "You're my husband." she giggled.

Clark grinned at her and pulled her into a hug. "Yes I am."

Pete looked over to Martha and Johnathon and rolled his eyes. "Yep, this is something we're DEFINATELY going to have to get used to. There isn't anymore 'Oh Lana, i'm so in love with you but I can't touch you.'" said Pete in a high pitched voice.

Clark reached around Lana and hit Pete on the arm. Pete laughed. "It's the truth man."

"He is right. It will be good to see you two not pining over each other anymore." said Chloe.

Clark looked over at his parents. They both smiled at him. "Not you too!" he said. All they did was laugh at him. "Well." said Clark, standing up and grabbing Lana's hand. "I can see that me and Mrs. Kent aren't welcome here." Lana stood up laughing and they walked outside.

"You know what their going to go do right?" Clark and Lana heard Pete ask.

"PETE!" explained Chloe.

Clark and Lana headed up to the upstairs apartment of the Talon. Before they entered, Clark insisted on picking Lana up and carrying her in. Lana laughed when he picked her up. They stepped into the apartment and Clark leaned in and kissed her.

"Welcome home Mrs. Kent." he said.

Lana laughed and kissed him again. Clark set her on her feet. "It's good to be able to walk into this apartment and know that I don't live alone." she said.

"It's good for me to know that I can walk in here and know that the woman of my dreams is waiting for me." said Clark.

Lana looked up at him lovingly. "Will it always be like this?" she asked.

"You can count on it." said Clark and swept her up into his arms again. He laid her on her bed and began to kiss her.

Kent Farm, Chloe and Pete are asleep in the living room, Chloe on the couch and Pete on the floor. Martha and Johnathon were still whispering to each other at the table. Johnathon reached over and wiped a tear from Martha's eye.

"What's the matter honey?" he asked her.

"I'm so happy for Clark, I am. But, he's married now, I guess a part of me is starting to realize that he doesn't need me anymore." said Martha.

Johnathon chuckled and took his wife's hand in his. "Martha, the day that we can say that about our son, is the day we should be the proudest."

They lay like that for some time, looking into each other's eyes and smiling.

Kent Farm. Chloe and Pete are outside on the porch talking when Johnathon walks out.

"Hey, what are you guys doing up so early?" asked Johnathon.

"We're not really used to sleeping through roosters." said Chloe.

Johnathon chuckled.

"So, how does it feel to know that your son is de-flowered."

"PETE!" said Chloe.

Johnathon chuckled again. "It's part of marriage."

"Okay, how about knowing that your son de-flowered Lana."

"PETE! Will you shut up!?!" said Chloe.

Johnathon smiled down at him. "There are somethings that a man doesn't want to know about his son."

"I'm guessing these are one of them things?" asked Pete.

"Well duh.." said Chloe. Johnathon nodded.

Later that evening, Clark and Lana pulled up into the Kent driveway. They got out and walked up to the awaiting Pete and Johnathon. Clark looked at them in confusion when Pete nudged Johnathon and winked. He was even more confused when Chloe came up behind them and slapped Pete upside the head.

"What's going on guys?" asked Clark.

"Nothing much." said Chloe. "What's going on with you?"

"We already know." said Pete, grinning.

"PETE, IF YOU DON'T SHUT IT RIGHT NOW!!!" yelled Chloe.

"Okay!!" said Pete, running towards the house with Chloe hot on his heels, hand raised to slap.

"What was that about?" said Lana, a grin on her face.

Johnathon chuckled and shook his head. "Just Pete being...well...Pete."

Clark and Lana had a good fit of laughter when they heard what Pete had been saying all morning. They wouldn't answer his questions, but laughed at his persistancy.

"I don't kiss and tell." said Clark.

"Ahh...so there was KISSING!" said Pete.

Clark looked at him like he was stupid. "We're MARRIED Pete. What do you think?"

Pete gave a knowing grin. "You sly dog."

Clark rolled his eyes and turned his attention to Chloe who was in a discussion with Lana.

"So I thought since how I was going off to college I would probably need some money right?" Chloe was saying.

"Clark, c'mon man. We're like brothers!" Pete interrupted.

"Pete, I'm not telling you anything!" said Clark, and his attention went back to the discussion that Chloe and Lana were having.

"-if there was a job open?" finished Chloe.

"Of course." said Lana, smiling widely.

"A job where?" Clark asked.

"At the Talon. Chloe figures she can squeeze in a couple of shifts in between her Daily Planet job and Met U." said Lana.

"For some extra cash." said Chloe.

"Clark. If I were married, I would tell you!" said Pete.

Clark looked over at Pete. "You really wanna know something?" Pete nodded anxiously. "Then get married, then you'll know."

"Fine." said Pete sulkily, sitting back in his seat.

"If it's anything about Lana and I being 'de-flowered' No comment." said Clark.

Johnathon laughed. "No. I was just going to ask you how it felt, to know that someone in your life is going to depend on you now."

Clark smiled and put his hands in his pockets. "To be honest dad, it feels pretty darn good."

Johnathon put a hand on his son's shoulders. "That.." started Johnathon, smile growing wider. "Is how you know if you're REALLY in love."

"I could've told you that dad." said Clark.

Lana walked out to them and put her arms around Clark.

"How's everything coming along?" she asked.

"Perfect." said Clark, smiling down at his wife.

"Good." said Lana, smiling back. "Because everything inside is ready, we're just waiting on the meat."

"We're almost done." said Clark.

"Okay." whispered Lana. Clark leaned down and kissed her, and Lana walked back into the house.

Everyone sitting on the porch eating their supper. Chloe set aside her plate and put her hands in her lap.

"So..." she said.

"So?" said everyone else simultaneously.

Chloe looked around smiling, and then looked over at Clark, who were sitting on the porch eating. Lana leaning against Clark. "Since you two are married now, does that mean you guys are too old to come out and play with me and Pete anymore?"

Clark laughed. "We're married, we're not old."

Pete set down his empty plate. "Clark has ALWAYS acted like he was old. I could NEVER get him to come to any parties."

"Being conservative, doesn't make you old." said Pete.

Chloe was the one to laugh this time. "Conservative?" she laughed again. "Please, you just didn't want to get in trouble."

"He never has like being the center of attention." said Lana.

"I was just being modest." said Clark.

"No, you were just afraid to be social because you didn't want anyone to find out about your crush on Lana." said Pete. "But, just for the 411, it kind of stood out."

"Especially since how you pined after Lana since we were 5. I mean, you spyed on her through a TELESCOPE!" said Chloe.

"I wasn't spying!' said Clark.

"Then what would you call that Clark?" asked Pete.

"Admiring." said Clark.

Martha and Johnathon chuckled.

Alas, I am ending yet ANOTHER one of my fics. Don't be too broken up about it, I'll end up writing another one. Probably even a couple!

Lana and Clark were driving down an abandoned road, heading back towards the Talon. Lana and Clark kept sneaking glances at each other smiling. Lana looked out the window and smiled. She patted Clark on the arm and pointed.

"Look, a shooting star." said Lana. "Wish on something."

Clark smiled at her and squeezed her hand, glancing up at what she was pointing at, and back down at the road. "I have everything I've always dreamed of already."

Lana smiled and continued to watch the star. Her smiled started to fade when she saw that this "star" was getting closer and closer. "CLARK!" she said and the object crashed into the field next to the road. Clark started to lose control of the truck and swerved to the side of the road, and stopped the truck. They two of them looked at each other a moment and got out of the truck. Clark walked around to Lana and looked out into the field.

"What do you think that was?" asked Clark.

"It looked like a meteor." said Lana. She began walking towards the crash site.

"Wait, Lana." said Clark hesitantly until they reached a part of the field that was burnt to a crisp. "What IS that!?!"

Lana and Clark looked at the object with shock and confusion on their face. Lana's eye's widened when something that looked like a door was opening.

"Oh Sh*t."
