From Mediaweek
The WB, meanwhile, has finally found a spot on the Thursday map courtesy of the relocated Smallville, which opened with a comfortable 4.5/ 7 in the overnights (#5), 5.72 million viewers (#5) and a third-place 2.6/ 7 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m.

Now, that is what I want to see all year long.
Good ratings.
What I am scared about most is when they do their holiday break and going 2 weeks without showing a new episode. Hopefully they change that up this year.

That's great, probably number one in male demographic again then.

Looks like 3rd time is the charm, timeslot-wise for Smallville!

So it got a 5.72 rating and 4.5 in the overnights? Not bad, maintaining a solid level of consistency.

Great, great news. I was afraid we would see a (big) post-season-premiere decrease, but that does not look to be the case.
Moving away from Lost was a very smart move.

There was no O.C. I'm not surprised by it. Still the ratings really didn't increase, but practically the same from "Arrival".

It seems like a good sign that it kept up in the ratings but i'm not going to get overly excited until about half way through because that will give the best idea of how many people have continued to watch it once the excitement of the premiere faded...but for right now CONGRATS SMALLVILLE!!!!:D

Sorry I'm still not gonna cheer, it's only been 2 episodes into the season. I can see people midway through the season wondering why the ratings went down(*IF THEY DO*) because SV owned Thursdays(which they don't, Survivor does).
Plus alot of things factor in, no OC, for one.
