Lex is storming away from Lana in a feild. Lana is following him, determination on her face.
"Lex. You practically attacked me for the stone before the meteor shower. The only reason I'm out here with you is because you told me you needed my help finding the ship that fell. So don't walk away from me!" Said Lana angrily.
Lex stopped and looked at her.
"Lana, we are not in a safe area right now. I just recieved a call from one of my employees. Gas lines are exploding everywhere."
"Lex, I just want to find the ship, and go home." said Lana.
"Lana...the truth is, I didn't drag you out here to find the ship. I wanted you to get away from Clark so I could tell you about my feelings for you."
The ground beneath them explodes.
(This is a Clana fic, I'm just working my way into it!)

Smallville Medical Center. Lana is lying in a hospital bed, Chloe and Clark sitting beside her. Lana slowly opens her eyes.
"Hey." says Chloe.
Clark leans over and smiles at her. "I'm going to go get a nurse. I'll be right back." Lana nods gratefully at him, and he walks out.
"What happened?" asks Lana.
"Lex said that you two were out searching for the space ship when a gas line erupted underneath you." said Chloe.
"A gas line?" asked Lana.
"Yeah, apparently the meteors busted a lot of them when they came crashing down."
"All the explosions seem to happen to me don't they?" Lana asks with a smile.
"Hey, if you remember, my safehouse exploded!" said Chloe.
"You're right, you win." said Lana. Their silent a moment and Lana puts her hands over her face.
"What's wrong Lana?" asks Chloe, confusion on her face.
"I don't feel well. Where's Clark?" asks Lana.
"I resent you." says Chloe.
"What?" asks Lana.
"Clark could've been mine." says Chloe.
"Chloe, are you okay?" asks Lana.
"Lana, I just asked you the same question. You got a far-off look on your face and didn't answer me."
"But, I thought I heard you....nevermind." says Lana.
Clark walks in the room and sits beside Lana.
"How are you holding up?" he asks.
"I've been worse." she said.
"Okay well, Lana I hope you feel better, but, I promised Lois I would meet her at the Talon. See you Clark." Chloe walks out of the room.
Clark watched Chloe leave and then looks back at Lana. He takes her hand and holds it.
"I was afraid that you wouldn't pull through." he said quietly.
"I've survived stalkers and psychopaths one little explosion isn't going to stop me." she said with a smile. Lana watches Clark's face, he is staring at the blanket lost in thought. "Clark, what's wrong?" she asked.
"I'm in love with you...but i'm afraid." he said.
"Afraid of what?" she asks.
"That you'll find out."
"What are you talking about Clark?"
"Lana, are you okay? You seem kind of distracted." said Clark, concern on his face.
"Clark, what were you just talking about?" she asks.
"I asked you if your ready to go, the doctor says you're fine." said Clark, confused.

The Talon. Lois is behind the counter wiping the bar when Lana and Clark walk in. They sit at the counter.
Lois comes to stand in front of Lana. "I heard that you survived yet ANOTHER explosion?"
Lana smiled at her. "I did."
"Anything weird happen to you like last time?" asked Clark.
"Something weird happened last time?" asked Lois.
"She could see out of other people's eyes." said Clark.
Lois looked at Lana, impressed. "And I didn't hear about this?"
Lana was silent a moment, she looked over at Clark and stared at him a moment.
"Lana are you okay?" Clark asked, looking at her.
"Yeah, I'm fine." she said and quickly looked over at Lois, who was looking at her strangely.
"You're a good friend and everything, but, I don't think things between you and Clark will work out." said Lois.
"What?" asked Lana.
"He's hiding something. He doesn't want to tell the people that are close to him, what makes you think you're any different? asked Lois.
"Lana?" asked Clark. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Lana blinked once and looked over at Clark. She smiled. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine Clark."
Kent Farm, Lana and Clark walk up the stairs to the loft, they sit on the couch.
"Clark...there is something that I should probably tell you." she said quietly.
"I am so in love with you Lana. Words aren't enough for what I feel. But...if you knew the truth....you would never look at me the same...I would be...a freak.." Clark said.
Lana looks at him, wide eyed and confused.
"Why are you looking at me like you've seen a ghost?" Clark asked.
"I keep hearing....different things..I don't know.." she said, taking quick breaths.
"Lana, are you telling me that something DID happen to you in the explosion?" asked Clark.
"I think so, I keep hearing people's thoughts....or...or their true emotions." said Lana.
"I asked you earlier if anything happened and you said you were fine." said Clark.
"I know, I'm sorry Clark, I thought if I could just listen in a little longer..that.." Lana began.
"That you would find out something about me." Clark finished for her and stood up. "Lana, I don't tell you these things because I'm afraid of putting you in danger."
"Clark, I think that being in danger is my decision."
"Not when it comes to something like this, I don't want to see you get hurt." said Clark.
Lana stands up and walks over to Clark. She takes his hands in hers and they look in each others eyes.
"The only thing that keeps hurting me, is the thought that you don't trust me." she said quietly.
"Lana...I do trust you. But if anything ever happened to you..." said Clark.
"Nothing is going to happen to me Clark. No one will know that I know your secrets." she said.
"Lana.."
"It's okay Clark." she said.
They look at each other a moment, and Clark leans in a kisses her.

"I don't want to put you in danger." says Clark again.
Clark, Lana, and Chloe are sitting at the counter of the Talon.
"Clark, I've known for a while now, and I'm still standing." said Chloe.
"And so are you're parents." said Lana.
"When I told Pete it nearly killed him. I couldn't bear to do that to anyone else." said Clark slowly.
"Clark, I'm a big girl. Whatever it is, I can handle it." said Lana.
"Clark..."said Chloe.
"I'm not from around here." said Clark.
Lana blinked a couple of times, trying to make sure that Clark had said it, and not her mind.
"I think I'll save the best for last." said Clark and cleared his throat. "I have....'abilities' but, I didn't get them because of the meteor rocks."
Lana looked at him curiously.
"He wasn't affected like alot of people in this town are." said Chloe.
"Then how..?" asked Lana.
"I was born with them." said Clark flatly.
"What abilities were you born with?" asked Lana.
"Well...I'm strong. I can lift over 10 times what normal people can. I have heat vision-"
"Heat vision?" asked Lana.
Clark smiled and grabbed the cold coffee in front of him. He stared at it a minute and held it out, steam was rising from it.
"Whoa." said Lana.
"He's also wicked fast!" said Chloe excitedly.
Clark laughed. "I can run faster than the eye can see." He made sure not to mention the word 'human', he would lay that load on her later.
"What else..?" asked Clark, thinking.
"There's more?!" asked Lana.
"X-ray vision." said Chloe, again excitedly.
Lana looked over to Clark, shock on her face.
"Yes, X-ray vision. How do you think I knew Chloe wasn't in her grave?" he asked.
Lana blinked rapidly, trying to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"I'm also bullet proof. Basically, the only weaknesses that we've found for me is the meteor rocks, and magic." said Clark.
"Magic?" asked Lana.
"Your ancestor, Isobel Thoreux, she could hurt me with her magics." said Clark.
"Oh.." said Lana.
"There's only one more thing.." said Clark.
"It's a BIG thing." said Chloe.
"I'm....kinda....an alien."

Lana again sat there in silence. She stared at Clark, then looked over at Chloe. Chloe flashed her teeth at Lana.
"Isn't it great?" she asked, still grinning from ear to ear.
"So you weren't just affected by the meteor rocks?" asked Lana.
"No, they came along with my ship in the meteor shower." said Clark.
Lana again looked at Chloe. Chloe showed her teeth again.
"Isn't it great?" she asked again.
Lana looked over to Clark.
"You can only get hurt by 2 things. So you're almost...invincible." said Lana.
"Isn't it gr-"
"CHLOE!" said Clark. "Only 2 things can hurt me, but those 2 things hurt really bad." he said.
"That's why you always looked sick our Freshmen year, I wore my necklace." Lana said.
"I couldn't get close to you with out looking stupid because of it. Well, that and because you made me nervous." Clark flashed her one of his brilliant smiles.
Lana laughed. "Hold on, let some of this sink in." said Lana.
"I'm an alien, I know that there is alot to take in." said Clark.
Lois walks in and startles the 3 of them, they look back at Lois.
"Why are you guys looking at me like you've just seen an alien?" she asked.

Belle Reeve, Loinel is pacing his padded cell, Kryptonian symbols everywhere.
"Defeat them with their own planet." mumbled Lionel. "Kryptonite."
The door opened, the man in the black suit entered the room. Lionel stopped and looked at him.
"He was sent to get Kal-el to embrace his destiny." Lionel said to him. The man silently pulled the memo pad out of his pocket and began writing things down. "He hasn't finished his schooling...too concerned with friends...." the man looked at Lionel strangely, and wrote something down again. "Human." whispered Lionel.
The door opened again, Prof. Fine walked into the room and faced the man in the suit. "You are no longer needed here." he said to the man.
"Mr. Luthor had specific instructions-" the man began.
"I was sent to release you of your duty. Lex sent me in your place." said Prof. Fine.
The man looked at him with a confused expression and walked out. Prof. Fine watched the man leave, and then his attention went to Lionel. Lionel was watching him, fear in his eyes.
"What's the matter old man?" asked Fine.
"Kal-el will not let you destroy this planet." mumbled Lionel.
"No, he will join me." said Fine with a smirk. "But first, I must deal with you."
Lionel backed up into a corner of the cell. "You will be stopped."
"I can't have you spilling information to everyone that walks through that padded door." said Fine, stepping closer. He holds out his hand and there is a flash of light.
Lionel falls to the floor, lifeless.

The funeral for Lionel Luthor was held on a rainy day. Clark attended, along with Lana and Chloe, but they didn't really care to be there. Lex didn't act as though he cared much either.
"Clark, i'm glad you could make it." Lex told him, Clark merely nodded and smiled. He didn't trust Lex anymore. How could he? Lana had told Clark the way that he had acted the day of the meteor shower.
"Chloe, I know what my father put you through, I appreciate that you made it." said Lex, nodding his thanks to her also.
Lex looked at Lana, who's arm was around Clark's. He smiled weakely at her, and walked away.
"Why did we even come here Clark?" asked Chloe. "You don't even hang out with Lex anymore."
Clark was watching Lex talk to some people he didn't recognize. "Lex is the type of person that you don't want to be on his bad side." said Clark, still distracted.
The men Lex had just been talking to, all looked over at Clark, as if he was a target.

Kent Farm, Clark was underneath the tractor, when a car pulled up. Clark heard it and got out from underneath the tractor and looked at the car, he didn't recognize it. 3 men exited the car at the same time and stepped towards Clark.
"What can I do for you guys?" asked Clark.
"Mr. Luthor would like us to escort you back to his mansion for a little chat." one of the men said.
Clark shook his head. "Tell Lex I'm sorry, I can't make it, I've got plans."
"Unfortunately Mr. Kent, Mr. Luthor also said, you didn't have a choice." said one of the other men, and the 3 rushed Clark. Clark tossed them aside without breathing hard. He looked at the collapsed men, and decided to pay Lex a visit.
Lex's mansion, Lex is playing pool on his pool table when Clark bursts in and goes straight for Lex, Lex sees that he is angry and starts to back up.
"C-clark, what are you doing?" he asked while being grabbed by his collar and shoved into the wall.
"You sent men to come get me by force?" asked Clark angrily.
"Clark, I didn't think I could get you here to talk to me otherwise." he said.
"I'm not going to talk to you Lex, and if you pull a stunt like that again, I SWEAR Lex, I'll make you wish you had never met me." Clark said and released Lex, storming out of the room.
Lex looked at the door Clark had exited and sighed. He pulled a cell phone out of his pocket, pressed a button, and put it to his ear.
After a moment, Lex spoke. "I have the new target." he said. "Lana Lang."

Talon with the lights off and deserted, the upstairs apartment. Lana is sitting in a chair talking on the phone.
"Really? Clark, how do you know that you're not being watched?" Lana asked.
"I don't Lana, at least not yet." he said.
"I'm sorry to here that Clark, I know that you and Lex used to be pretty close." said Lana.
"I could always since that their was a darkness in him, I just tried to ignore it." said Clark.
"Maybe there's just been a mistake? Maybe Lex doesn't really-" 3 men bust open her door.
"Lana? What was that?" asked Clark, afraid.
"Clark, they just burst into my room the-" The men grab Lana and drag her out of the room, with her screaming Clark's name.
"LANA!!!" he screamed and super-sped out of the house.

Clark ran to the Talon, and saw that the lock had been picked. He opened the door and ran inside, and up the stairs, to find the apartments door wide open, with signs of a struggle inside. He looked around the room and spotted a card on the floor. He picked it up. It had the LexCorp logo on it.
"Lex.." said Clark angrily.
Lex's mansion, for the 2nd time that day, Clark burst into Lex's office.
"If I were you Clark I would stop right there." said Lex.
Clark looked around the room and saw Lana tied to a chair, one of the men held a knife to her throat.
"Let her go Lex, she didn't do anything to you." said Clark.
"Well, techniqually, neither did you, I mean besides save my life countless times." said Lex.
"Why are you doing this?" asked Lana.
Lex looked over at her and smiled. "Because Lana, I'm tired of playing the good friend when all I get in return is lies." he said.
"You're not going to hurt her Lex." said Clark.
"Actually, I plan on hurting you both, but, Lana isn't intentional." Clark looked at him with confusion on his face.
"Well, obviously I can't physically hurt you, because my 3 best men couldn't catch you, but if I hurt her, then I'll be hurting you too." Lex laughed. "It's like hitting 2 birds with one stone."

Clark looked from Lex, to the man holding the knife, and back again.
Lex noticed this and chuckled. "I'd suggest not trying anything, that man is the quickest knife fighter I've ever seen."
Clark looked at Lex pleadingly. "Let her go Lex, I will stay here and cooperate however you want me to, just don't hurt her."
Lex laughed again. He loved having the upper hand. "See, for some reason that doesn't work for me. Oh, I know why, because it's easier to get 1 person to escape than it is 2." he said.
"I thought you didn't want to be your father." said Clark coldly.
Lex stopped smiling and stepped in front of Clark. "My father was a fool. He ruled this town, I'm going to rule the world." he said, and smiled in Clark's face.
Clark plowed his fist into Lex's face while his guard was down. He super-sped to Lana and shuved the knife away from Lana and grabbed the entire chair she was sitting in, and super-sped out. Lex wiped the blood from his mouth and looked up. He noticed that both Clark and Lana are gone, and he slams his fist on the desk.

Before Lana could blink, she was in her apartment. Clark was standing in front of her. She took a deep breath and stared at him wide-eyed. "What just happened?" she asked.
Clark smiled. "I just got you away from Lex."
"You used your powers didn't you?" asked Lana. Clark only sighed and nodded. "Clark, now he knows there's something different about you. You've just revealed your secret!"
Clark shook his head. "I don't care. The only thing that matters to me is that you're safe." Lana smiled and stood up. "This is definately going to be a day I remember." Clark laughed.
"I surely won't forget it anytime soon." he said.
"So now what? If Lex exposes you-"
"He won't have any proof." finished Clark. "Just speculation."
Lana sighed. "You're still in danger Clark. You know how dangerous Lex can be."
"I can handle him Lana, don't worry." said Clark.

Lex was pacing his office. He knew that Clark had somehow gotten himself and Lana out, but how? And it's not as if he had any proof. It would be his word against Clark's. And who would believe a theiving billionaire brat over a local hero? He knew his chances were slim to nothing. He grabbed his coat and stormed out the door.
The Talon, Clark and Lana are sitting at the counter. Lois walks in and goes around the counter. "You lovebirds want something to drink?" she asked them. They smiled at her and nodded. "No need to tell me what you want, I've been working here long enough to know what my two regular customers want." she set to making the drinks. Clark leaned over to Lana to talk to her in a whisper.
"My dad said that Earl, our animal feed guy, saw Lex speeding down Route 8, looking pretty upset." said Clark. "I think he's going to try something."
Lana looked at him concern on her face. "I told you he wouldn't just let this go." she looked towards the door. "Looks like trouble is going to start early this morning." Clark looked over to the door, Lex had just walked in. Clark stood up to face him, Lex made his way over to him.
"Clark, just the person I've been looking for." said Lex.
"What do you want? To attempt murder again?" asked Clark.
Lex chuckled. "No, I just want answers."
"I can't give them to you Lex. I don't know anything." said Clark.
Lex shook his head. "I'm sorry to hear that Clark." he looked over to Lana, who was looking at him with hate, and then back at Clark. "I'll keep in touch." he said, and walked back out the Talon doors.

(LAST CHAPTER!!!)
Clark sat in the loft, head in his hands, trying to figure out what he would tell Lex. There was no way that Clark could convince him he was having another psychotic break, and he also knew that he couldn't convince Lex to drop the subject. Maybe he could convince Lex that he didn't really see what he thought he did? Or maybe.....
Clark heard footsteps coming up the loft. He stood up to see who it was. Much to Clark's surprise and disappointment, it was Lex.
"Clark. Good, I have you alone." said Lex.
"Lex, yeah, i'm glad you came by, there's something I need to talk to you about." said Clark, trying to play innocent.
"Well, I can't wait to hear what you have to say." said Lex and sat down on the couch. "I'm all ears."
"I think someone may be drugging you." said Clark, trying not to sound too desperate. "You see, someone tried to drug me the other night, and I figured since how everyone in town knows we're such good friends, they might be trying to drug you too."
Lex looked at him agast as to what he just heard. It hadn't been what he was expecting. Lex rubbed his hands together and looked up at Clark. "Well it certainly wouldn't be the first time someone has tried to drug me. And it certainly WOULD explain the things I've seen the last couple of days."
"Yeah..." said Clark, looking around the room desperate to find something to say. "I had my parents get specialists to look at the drug...apparently it causes delusions."
"How can your parent's afford specialists?" asked Lex.
"Old family friends." said Clark, making things up as he went.
"Oh, I see." said Lex. "Well Clark if someone has been drugging me I'm terribly sorry for what i've put you through the last couple of days."
Clark sighed. "It's no problem. I know you weren't yourself."
"I'll give some blood and find out if I was being drugged in the morning." he said and stood up. "I guess I'll talk to you then." Lex smiled and walked down the loft steps.
Clark walked towards the window and stared out into nothing. 'Now I just have to find a way to drug him.' he thought. Clark stood there a minute and then a look of realization came to his face. Maybe he didn't have to hide anymore. Maybe him and Lana would just move to Metropolis. He could get himself an alternate identity, and the only people that would know about him is his friends and family. And Lex, but he wouldn't have any proof!
Clark stared out over the feilds. But what would his alternate identity be? The thought came into his head instantly. Chloe and Lana had jokingly called him "superman" everytime he magically saved somebody.
Clark smiled and reached up to grap a couple of his bangs. He twisted them around his finger a couple of times and then moved his hand, leaving the bangs to form a solitary "S" on his forehead.
"What are you Clark? Man or Superman?"
'I'm Superman.' thought Clark. 'I'm Superman.'
