Clark's confession

(I'm basically going by the current Smallville season, this is set right after the episode "Arrival.")

Clark and Lana had been dating for 3 months now. They had never been happier. Although Clark still refused to talk about all his mysteries of the past, Lana was happy that he was finally being open with her.

Clark was outside the barn picking up planks of wood and setting them in a wheel barrel when Lana's car pulled up. Clark tossed the wood in his hand into the barrel and walked over to the car. Lana stepped out and Clark walked to her and they shared a kiss.

"Working hard?" Lana said with a laugh.

"All day." he said, smiling back at her. "My parents had to run to the lumber yard in Metropolis for the rest of the supplies we're going to need to fix the roof."

"Things would be so much simpler if they would deliver." she laughed again.

Clark gave her one of his brilliant smiles.

"Let me go change and we'll head over to the Talon." he said.

"Okay..I'll just wait in the loft." she said and started walking towards the barn.

Clark smiled at her retreating figure and walked over to the damaged house and walked in.

(Don't worry it'll get more exciting!)

Lex's mansion. Lex is sitting at his desk, Chloe sitting in a chair opposite him.

"Chloe, after everything that i've done for you over the years, I'm only asking for one thing in return." Lex said, Chloe gives him a confused look. "The truth."

"Lex, I told you a thousand times already." said Chloe.

"I believe that the stones somehow teleported you to the Yukon. What I don't believe is the part where Clark doesn't factor into this tale." Lex said, sitting up and intwining his fingers.

"Clark has nothing to do with this Lex. But I have a feeling that you're not going to let this drop until I tell you what you want to hear." They look at each other in silence a moment and she stands up. "Now the only thing left to tell you, which I've told you countless times...is thanks for getting me home Lex." she says and walks out of the office.

The Talon. Lois is handing a customer a latte' from behind the counter when Lana and Clark walk in, arms entangled. Lois rolls her eyes and walks over to where Clark and Lana have taken a seat.

"How long have you guys been dating now?" asked Lois.

"3 months." said Clark. "Why?"

"Because it obviously hasn't been long enough." she said.

"What do you mean?" asked Lana.

"You're not sick of him yet. Either you're not spending enough time together or you have EXTREME tolerance Lana."

Lana and Lois laugh, Clark sighs. Chloe walks into the Talon and over to the trio.

"Clark, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asks.

Clark nods and stands up.

"I'll be right back." he tells Lana and walks over to the side with Chloe.

"Lex STILL has suspicions about you Clark, I can't get him to take no for an answer." she said, looking concerned.

"Chloe, I dealt with these situations all my life. All you have to do is stick to your guns."

"Clark, you don't understand. He KNOWS you were in the caves when the meteors hit. He knows that I'm lying to him."

At that moment there is a cleared throat behind them. They turn around to see Lex looking at them.

"I think we all need to have a little chat." says Lex.

"Lex. What are you doing here?" asks Clark.

"I'm supposed to look over the repairs that your mother is having done on the Talon. But right now, I have more important priorities." said Lex, looking back and forth from Chloe to Clark.

"What prioritys?" says Clark, trying to look confused.

"I heard your little conversation Clark, no need for the innocent act."

"What are you talking about? What act? Chloe and I were just talking about your constant interrogation about us." said Clark.

"Don't lie to me Clark. I was standing right here, I know what I heard." Lex looks intently at Clark for a moment. "So you were in the caves...what were you doing in there? More importantly, where did you disappear to?"

Clark and Chloe exchange nervous glances.

"When Chloe was teleported out of the cave...the impact tossed me aside. I hit the wall and collapsed, and was buried underneath the caves debris."

Lex looks at the two of them for a minute and shakes his head.

"If that is what really happened Clark, why did you feel the need to lie about being in the caves?"

"Because I knew you would assume I was lying. Which you do right now. And I don't need to explain myself to you anyway Lex." says Clark and pushes past Lex and sits again in his seat next to Lana. Chloe and Lex follow him.

"So I'm guessing that you also didn't have anything to do with the disappearance of the 2 biengs that came out of the ship Lana found?" asked Lex.

Clark gives Lex an offended look and stands up again.

"I have no idea what happened to them. I only got a glimpse of them when I found Lana collapsed on the floor of the mansion." said Clark.

"Come with me Clark, there's something I want to show you." said Lex.

Lex's mansion, Lex walks in, and is followed by Clark. Lex comes to stand in front of his vault door.

"When I walked in here the day of the meteor shower, this door had been ripped off it's hinges."

Clark shrugs his shoulders. "What are you getting at Lex?"

"The door is jammed shut now Clark. This door weights over 300 pounds, and it's jammed shut. Lana tells me that this "being" shoved the door on like it was nothing."

"I still don't get what you're saying." says Clark, looking indifferent.

"Clark, the door was ripped off the hinges DURING the shower. The ship hadn't even landed yet. The beings hadn't stepped on this Earth yet. And Chloe knows more then she's telling."

"But why are you interrogating her about me?" asks Clark.

Lex takes a few steps towards him.

"Because I think that you did it."

"I did it?" Clark says, shock on his face.

"You're the only one Chloe cares enough about to protect. We're friends Clark. Tell me the truth." said Lex.

"I don't know what you're talking about." says Clark, turning around and starting for the door.

"I know you're lying Clark. If you would have just told me I could have saved you alot of trouble and complications."

Clark stops and turns to face Lex. He takes a couple of steps towards Lex until their only inches apart.

"Is that a threat?" he asks.

"I like you're family Clark. But I will do anything to uncover the truth...ANYTHING."

Lex barely got the words out before Clark's fist plows into his face.

Talon, Lois is again serving coffee's behind the counter, Lana and Chloe are sitting at the counter talking.

"I'm worried." said Lana.

Chloe and Lois look at her with confusion on their faces.

"Lex has never acted like this before. We've had our own little spats but he's never accused Clark of having supernatural abilities before."

Chloe looked at the floor.

"Lex thinks Clark has abilities?" asked Lois from behind the counter. "Please. If anyone in this town DIDN'T have abilities, it would be Smallville."

"I'm not so sure." said Lana. "Look how many times he has been there to save us. And he's never been hurt."

"That's not true, remember when Whitney made him the school's scarecrow? If he had powers I don't think he would have went through THAT humilation." said Chloe quietly.

"Maybe, or maybe he didn't want to use them for fear of bieng caught." said Lana.

"I've got to go." said Chloe standing up. "After all, I start Met U in just 3 days!" she said smiling, and turns to walk out.

"Well....that was just....weird." said Lois.

"I know." said Lana, watching Chloe go.

Lex's mansion, Lex is on his knees, blood dripping from his mouth.

"You would put my family and Lana in danger?" said Clark, looking down on him.

"You're being irrational Clark." said Lex before Clark punched him again.

"I don't think I am Lex. How many times have you told me we were friends?" said Clark, watching Lex stand up.

"We ARE friends." said Lex. "I just want the truth. And I plan to get it." Clark rears his fist back to punch again, swings but Lex catches his hand, swings his own fist back and punches Clark.

Clark looks back at Lex, blood coming from his lip. "We're not friends, anymore." said Clark going for the door. A man steps in front of him and Clark stops.

"Good evening. I would like a word with you gentlemen please." the man said.

"Who are you?" asked Lex from across the room.

The man took a couple of steps into the room.

"I'm Professor Milton Fine." he said.

Lex steps around Clark to look the man in the eye.

"Mr. Fine, I've never heard of you before. What business do you have with me?" asks Lex.

"I only have a few questions for you Lex, the person that I have really come to talk to, is your friend here." said Fine, patting Clark on the shoulder. "Can we talk somewhere private Mr. Kent?" asked Fine.

"Yeah..sure." Clark looks at Lex one more time and the two walk out of the room.

Talon, Clark and Prof. Fine walk in and take a seat.

"What do you need with me Mr. Fine?" asked Clark.

"Just to talk really. I hear you're going to Central Kansas, I just got a job teaching there." said Fine.

"Really? So I assume that you're going to be one of my Professors?" asked Clark.

"I should assume so, you're already on my student roll." said Fine.

Lois walks up to them with a notepad.

"Hey Clark, what would you like?" she asked.

"Just coffe please." said Clark.

"And you?" Lois asked Fine.

"The same thank you." he said.

Lois nodded and headed to the counter.

"So Professor Fine...what did you want to talk about?" asked Clark.

Fine leaned up in his chair.

"I would like to offer you a job." he said.

"A job?" Clark looks at him for a moment. "I'm not really looking for work." said Clark.

Fine stares intently at Clark a moment.

"I think, that you'll be very interested when I tell you some information about your friend Lex." he said.

"What kind of information?" asked Clark.

"Lex is storing the spaceship that fell in one of his storage facilities."

Lois comes up with their coffee. She hands the men their cups.

"Thanks Lois." said Clark.

"Thank you." said Fine.

Lois smiles at them and walks away.

"Wait, Lex has the ship? How do you know?" asked Clark.

"I know alot more than I'm given credit for Clark." he said, sipping his coffe.

"Why are you telling me this?" asked Clark.

Their silent a moment. Fine sets down his cup.

"Do you believe in destiny?" Fine asks.

"I don't want to." asked Clark, looking away.

"That's the funny thing about it Clark. You don't have to believe in destiny, but it exists. There is no escaping it."

Clark looks at him, confusion on his face. Fine smiles at him.

"That ship Clark...is YOUR destiny."

Clark quickly stands up and backs away from him.

"My destiny? What are you talking about?" he asked.

Fine took a last sip of his coffe and stood up.

"I've got to run, We'll talk more in class." he said and walked out of the Talon.

"Whoa Clark, are you okay?" Lois asked from behind him.

Clark looked at her, then back at the door Prof. Fine just exited.

"Yeah...I'm fine."

Lex's mansion, Lex is standing by the table, making himself a glass of scotch.

"Mr. Luthor, I don't think I understand what you want me to do." said a man in a black suit.

"It's not that complicated." said Lex, looking at the man. "My father was just put in the Belle Reeve institution. I believe that the stone that was in his pocket the day of the meteor shower, downloaded information I need into his brain."

"So, you want me to interrogate your father for information?" asked the man.

"Precisely.." Lex took a drink of his scotch. "Although I feel the need to warn you that some of the things my father says will make no sense."

"What information do you want from him?" asked the man.

"I want you to report everything. Every babble that escapes his lips, I want to know about. Do we have an understanding?" asked Lex.

"Yes sir." said the man in the suit, he nodded to Lex and walked out.

Fine walks in. Lex looks at him with curiousity.

"Mr. Fine, have a seat, please." said Lex, motioning towards some chairs.

"I can't stay long. I just wanted to ask you a few questions about the ship you have stored in one of your facilities." said Fine.

Lex is silent a moment. "What ship?" asked Lex.

"I know you have it here Lex, I've been in the same room with it, I've touched it." said Fine.

"Listen, I don't know how you got past security, but-"

"It wasn't hard." Fine laughed. "I figured you would have intellegent drones for the amount of money you spend on them."

Lex stared at Prof. Fine. "I really think, it's time for you to leave."

Prof. Fine came to stand inches from Lex. "After I'm done, you'll be the one that leaves." he said, and turned and walked out.

Kent Farm, Clark is in the loft, picking up books and placing them in his bag. Lana walks up behind him.

"Getting ready for your first big day of college?" she asked.

Clark turned around, startled.

"Lana..you scared me." he smiled and zipped up his bag. "Yep, I'm kind of nervous." he said and put the bag over his shoulder. "What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Well, I thought I would come by and see if you wanted a ride to school." she said, smiling.

"Thanks Lana." he said.

"No problem." she said.

He leans down and kisses her.

"Let's go." she said.

Central Kansas University, Clark and Lana get out of her car and walk up the steps of the college, hands entwined.

"Have fun Mr. Kent." she said, smiling.

"I'm sure I won't." he said also smiling.

"Bye." Lana steps on her toes and kisses him, she turns around and walks back to her car.

Clark looked at the building. He took a deep breath and smiled.

"Clark, I'm glad I caught you before class." said a voice behind him, he turned around and faced Prof. Fine.

"Prof. Fine, hi." said Clark.

"We didn't get to finish our conversation the other day at the Talon, I was hoping that we could talk for a moment."

"Sure." said Clark.

"I know that I was a little vague on my job offer. I thought I would tell you what exactly you would be doing." Clark gives him a confused look. "We're going to conquer the world, and make it our Utopia."

Clark looked at him skeptically. "What?!?" he asked.

"What do you say....Kal-el..?" asked Prof. Fine, with a smile.

The Talon, Lois is behind the counter when Martha walks in.

"Mrs. Kent! Welcome back." said Lois.

"Thanks Lois, I'm glad to be back." said Martha.

"I take it the trip wasn't very exciting?" asked Lois.

"It was horrible, the truck got stuck in the mud, when we finally got it out, we ran over glass and the tire blew." said Martha.

"That sounds.....lovely." said Lois sarcastically.

Clark busts in the room.

"Mom." he said and walked up to her.

"Hey Clark, how was your first day of college?" she asked.

Clark sighed. "We've got a problem."

Kent Farm, Johnathon is outside sliding planks of wood off the truck. Martha and Clark pull up in Martha's car, they get out.

"Hey son." said Johnathon.

"Hey dad." said Clark.

"What's wrong?" asked Johnathon, after seeing the concerned look on Clark's face.

"I met a man named Professor Milton Fine a couple of days ago. He's one of my professors at Central Kansas." said Clark.

"What's the problem?" asked Johnathon.

"He knows my Kryptonian name dad." said Clark.

"What?" asked Martha.

"It gets worse. He wants me to help him conquer Earth." said Clark.

"How does this guy know who you are?" asked Johnathon.

"I think he's an alien," Clark looks between his mom and dad. "I think he came out of the ship that fell in the meteor shower."

(Sorry for the shortness, I'm thinking of a way to make it more interesting.)

Loft, Clark is looking out the window, he hears someone coming up the stairs. It's Lana.

"Hey." he said.

"hey." she said back. He walked over to her and kissed her.

"How was your first day of college?" she asked.

"Interesting." Clark said. "How was your day?"

"Actually, i'm thinking about enrolling in Central Kansas with you." she said.

"Really?..I mean, are you sure that's what you want to do?" he asked.

"It's really hard with everyone gone during the day. Even LOIS is in college." said Lana.

"Hey, you don't have to buy me, I already want you to go." Clark said, smiling.

She smiled back at him. They look in each others eyes and minute and share another kiss.

"Hopefully we'll have some classes together." said Clark.

"Clark," she said smiling. "You know if we have classes together neither one of us will ever get any work done."

"That's okay! We may be failing our classes, but we'll be happy." said Clark.

Lana laughed. "Clark if I just wanted to kiss you all day I wouldn't let you go to college."

Clark raised his eyebrows at her, smiling.

"Clark!"

Meanwhile, Lex is standing in his father's padded room, looking over his dad's deceased body.

"How did this happen?" Lex asked a man behind him.

"We have no idea sir, there isn't any sign of an attack, and your father was in good health." said the man.

"I think I know who did this." Lex said quietly.

"Sir?" asked the man.

Lex turns around and heads for the door. "Excuse me, I have to pay a visitor to an old friend of mine."

(Okay, this is old, but apparently people want me to post, so here I go.)

Clark was sitting on the couch in the loft, staring at nothing when he heard footsteps coming up the stairs. He looked up, expecting to see Lana or his parents, but instead looked in the eyes of Lex Luthor. He quickly stood up.

"What do you want?" asked Clark.

Lex chuckled and continued into the room. "Once known as friend, and now i'm not even supposed to come and see you." Lex saw that Clark wasn't amused and continued. "Our new freind, Prof. Fine, killed my father."

Clark looked at him in shock and looked down at the floor. "I'm sorry to hear that Lex. I really am."

Lex nodded and took a deep breath. "I need to find Fine before he kills someone else."

Clark looked at him in confusion. "How can you be sure that it was him?"

Lex walked over to the window and looked up at the stars. "It's a matter of deductions." Clark walked behind him.

"What do you mean?" asked Clark.

"Prof. Fine appears suddenly in my office. We've never heard of him before, but he knows about us. As soon as he walks in town my father ends up dead, without a scratch on him. It's like he just fell." said Lex.

"It might have just been a coincidance Lex." said Clark.

Lex shook his head. "I don't think so. I think this guy has an even darker side to him, than I do. Which is saying something." Lex looked over at Clark. "Didn't think I knew about my dark side? I told you once that your friendship kept it at bay. And it did. But now I can feel it coursing through my vains freely. And I don't know how to stop it."

"Lex-" Clark started.

"We have to stop this guy Clark, maybe if I can defeat his darkness, I can defeat my own."

"I hope so Lex." said Clark.

(Well, I've always been a softy. So i'll give the people what they want. Another update!)

Clark walked up the steps to Central Kansas, looking around for Prof. Fine. He didn't see him. He walked into his college and searched the hallway, again, it was of no use, he wasn't in sight. Clark decided to wait until he had him in class. The day went by almost in a blur, Clark had already started to fall behind in his classes. Finally Clark walked into Prof. Fine's class. He took a seat in the back row and waited. So far Fine was no where to be seen. Clark looked around with narrowed eyes as he watched his classmate's file in and take their seats. Finally, after 10 minutes of waiting, Prof. Fine entered the class room.

"Good afternoon everyone, I'm sorry for the delay, I had business to take care of." said Prof. Fine. Clark watched him. 'If Lex is right, your business is killing people.' thought Clark. Lionel may not have been innocent, but nobody deserved to die like that. 'I wonder if he even saw it coming?.' thought Clark and sighed. He straightened in his seat when he noticed Prof. Fine watching him, nodding his head as if to answer Clark's question.

"Mr. Kent." said Prof. Fine walking up the steps towards Clark in the back row. "What are your veiws of Brutus' betrayal of Ceasar?"

Clark was off guard for a minute but immediately got back his composture. "I feel that Brutus wasn't happy with Ceasar's world. He betrayed him thinking that HIS world would be better, but in the end killing Ceasar was the worst mistake of his life."

Prof. Fine smiled at him. "Have you ever considered that Brutus' world may have been paradise? Had Marc Antony not interfered?"

"How does killing someone make a utopia?" asked Clark.

Fine started answer when the bell rang. He smiled again at Clark. "We shall finish this tomorrow." He walked down the stairs and to his desk. Clark waited until his classmates had exited the room and approached Prof. Fine. Fine looked up at him. "Excellent point of veiw Clark, but I think you're missing the big picture."

"I know what you did to Lionel." said Clark, anger evident on his face.

"Really now?" said Fine, looking down at his desk and grabbing some papers. "It's not like I did something irrational, you didn't like the man anyway."

"It doesn't make it right." said Clark.

"Who are you to say what is right and what is wrong?" asked Fine, looking back up at him. "We are from Krypton. These human laws don't apply to us."

"Wait....you're from Krypton?"

"A product?" asked Clark. "What were you made for?"

"I was made to be a sort of computer system for the ship that landed here only a few months ago. I was programmed to make sure that what we were sent here to do was done." said Fine.

"And you were sent here to destroy the human race. And to take this planet for your own?" asked Clark.

"Not for MY own Clark. For Krypton." said Fine. "I do not do this for my own purposes! I do it for yours!"

"Their NOT mine. I like this planet just the way it is, I have friends, a FAMILY. I won't let that be taken away." said Clark.

"Are you sure you want to make that decision..Kal-el?" asked Fine.

"My name is Clark. And yes, I would never destroy my home." said Clark.

"This is NOT your HOME! This was simply a waiting place." said Fine.

"Well this waiting place is all I know." said Clark, through clenched teeth. "And it's all I ever NEED to know."
