View Full Version : Her name is Kristin, not Kristen.

They misspelled Kristin's name during the new opening credits. I feel it's disrespectful that whoever prepared these credits didn't take the time to double check on the spelling of Kristin's name.
I mean all he had to do was google it. :p

I missed that for some reason, but yes that is disrespectful in a big way, she's only one of the three big stars on the show, Idiots, hope they see the error and fix it next week.

I saw it and my mouth was open throughout the credits from the shock that they actually did that.
Because I'm sure Al Gough knows how to correctly spell Kristin's name and I know he seen the credits because he was bragging about them on this site.

I can't fathom imagine how a production company could screw that up...it's just the same as if they had wrote Smallvile instead of Smallville, but I suppose to a lesser degree.
Another weird thing would be, on the WB's page, how they spell Kirstin's name "Kirsten" below the big picture of her, then right below it they spell her name correctly:

SHAME on them. SHAME SHAME SHAME.

Strangely enough though, I know someone that lives in Vancouver that claims to have met her more than once. She told me a long time ago that her real name is Kristen Kreuk and that she just used Kristin for her acting profession.
I don't know if there's any truth to that or not, but if there is, perhaps she's been using her "acting version" all along and decided to go back to Kristen? I do think it's strange that TheWB.com and now the opening credits (which would be a monumental mistake) would both now spell it as Kristen.

I can't buy the explanation that "Kristen" is the "real" way to spell her name and "Kristin" is the stage name or whatever. I mean, when celebrities use a different name, isn't it like, their middle name usually? Like Ryan Phillippe's real name is Matthew Ryan Phillippe, and Reese Witherspoon is Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon? Doesn't make sense to me to do that. I hope they fix it soon, though... I feel bad for KK :(

If Kristin wanted to change her own name around I wish she'd do something about her LAST name! I feel like an idiot every time I try to tell anyone about an episode of Smallville:
"and then Kristin Crook, (oops)... kre-ook... aa... Kru-ick...aaaaa...Kray-uck...AAAAGGH... LANA FREEKING Whats-er-name LANE did ... something... (cripes!) now, I FORGOT what I wanted to say..."
This will make tommorrow at work difficult 'cause whats-er-name did a fantastic job in "Arrival"!

That doesn't make any sense.
In her 10th grade yearbook picture it said Kristin Kreuk.
She wasn't even on Edgemont at the time, let alone acting outside of high school. She didn't start acting in the mainstream until her 12th grade year of High School, when she got the part on Edgemont.
There's also a fan encounter on a Kristin Kreuk fan site where she corrected the spelling of her name on a magazine cover:
And then she was like "they spelled my name wrong!" all giggly and jokingly and she changed the E on the magazine to an I. lol. That was cute.
And here's the picture from her 10th grade yearbook:

Can we move this thread to the sycophant forum? I mean, for Pete Ross' sake, we have people here who can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're" and nobody says a thing. Misspell an actress' name and OH NOES!

Omg omg omg omg those bastards... How dare they drag Kristen's name through the mud like that! I mean with all Kristen has done they should at least give Kristen the respect she deserves by spelling Kristen's name right in the opening credits when it gets to the character of Lana and they put up the name Kristen Kreuk they should at least be able to spell Kristen right because it's not that hard to spell Kristen the right way, I know, I went with a girl named Kristen and I had no trouble spelling Kristen and as a matter of fact since the creaters seem to pine over Kristen so much you'd think they'd have wrote Kristen's name all over their notebooks like junior high students who have an obsession with a girl named Kristen. GOD!
HAHAHAHA, I couldn't help myself but to do that and but to laugh GREATLY at the people who seem so personally affected by them spelling it KRISTEN in the credits.... hahahahaha oh god...hahahahah this is to much... hahahahahahaha ... oh you people are pathetic...

... okay :\
The point is not who it's affecting, it's merely the fact that it was a careless mistake to make--especially considering how many times this must have been previewed by both the people making it AND Kristin Kreuk Lovers #1 & #2 (Al & Miles).
No reason to freak with the classic repeated "ha"'s and calling people names (pathetic, stupid, whatever) that newbies seem to be so found on EVERY single forum known to man at one point or another--this place is called a DISCUSSION BOARD (or message board or foum) and we are doing exactly what it was made for. We are discussing the issue--it doesn't matter whether any one person thinks it was a careless, funny, stupid, irrelevant, or whatever mistake--all opinions are welcome. If you don't want to discuss the issue itself, why post about how "pathetic" other posters are? Can you see the lack of logic here?

Talk about making mountains out of moehills. Someone made a mistake, a simple typo that no one caught. It happens. KK herself probably saw the new intro and if so didn't notice.
