Ok, so when Chloe got close it seemed that the fortress reacted to a intruder and created like a blizzard? I think it is acting as defense mechanism in that it protects the heritage of Krypton.

I thought that blizzard was just an effect of that whirlwind that clark was in.

Chloe was teleported only a while behind Clark, so she douldn't have been there that long and she wasn't covered in snow either so I don't think her freezing had anything to do with her being outside.
It first I saw Clark being downloaded and it only seemed to shoot ice breath at Chloe when she tried to approach Clark who was downloading information.
At first I thought it might be fortress defence mechanism to protect the person who is vulnerable when downloading info but then I realized it was Jor-El, and he just wasn't turning it off until Clark made an agreement with him.

If Jor El wanted to get rid of Chloe, a laser would just fry her ass.
She was succumbing to the cold because she was wearing spring clothes in Kasass with her cleavage hanging out, and now it was getting frostbitten. The problem was the conditions in the Fortress were not something that a human could survive. The blizrd was not affecting Clark, obviously because he's invincible. And yeah it was probally an after affect of the "wisdom tube" he was in.
I really think Chloe is going to die, she knows too much, and there is no Chloe sullivan in the future daily planet. If there was she would be in Clarks face 24/7. I think shes going to die, and Lois will live out Chloes dream in her honor by becoming a reporter.
Heres the dumb part, why didnt Chloe tell Clark how lex manhandled her and practically kidnapped her? Id like to see Kent throttle that little punk.

I don't think she'll die. Just because she doesn't work at the daily planet in the future doesn't mean she's dead. If that was the case, than everybody that clark knew in high school must be dead, since none of them work at the planet. Just because the comics only mention a few of his friends from Smallville doesn't mean he didn't know anyone else or that they are all dead.

It did look like a defense mechanism to me, the blizzard seemed to start as soon as she got near Clark, or maybe the knowledge archive.
Sure hope Chloe doesnt get snuffed out but that scene with Lex near the end had a definate ominous tone to it. Should be an interesting season arc if that was the intent.

I agree with it as a defense mechanism. It didn't seem to kick up until she got close. I was thinking "backup, Chloe"

yah it is a defense mechanism. Pretty cool to see how it gets turned on.

well the whirlwind created by clarks super learning chamber probaby increased the wind chill factor in the FOS when she got close to it, but it was already cold, seeing as how they are in the arctic in a big chamber made of ice. I don't see it being cold in an ice box as much of a defense mechanism. If she had been dressed for winter she wouldn't have had much problem. If the cold was a defense mechanism you would expect it to just freeze her solid on contact.

First off, Chloe won't die, that show would die with her honestly.
The FOS has always had a defense mechanism because only Superman can enter it unless he allows someone to enter it like he did Lois in the movies.
The blizzard was to keep Chloe from coming any closer to Clark and trying to keep him from learning all about his hertiage.

The defense mechanism didn't stop Lex Luthor from rummaging around and playing with the crystals with Miss Chessmocker in the movies. (Supes 2, I think) I didn't realy see much of a blizzard... just a little snow being blown around by the wind caused by the knowledge downloader. If that was a defense mechanism it is dissapointing. If Chloe had been dressed for winter the "defense mechanism" would have been useless.

well in the movies clark was not surrounded by a field of information for him to "download", it probably only turns on when he is vulnerable due to lack of sight in the outside world. because you never see someone walk up to him in the movies while he is downloading information from jor el

so then is the defense mechanism to defend Clark or the FOS? I really don't think that Chloe posed much of a threat to him, whether he was occupied at the time or not
