Howdy all!! A few of us over in the discussion thread have been chatting about how we would like to see our fave Fan Fic authors and stories get some recognition for all of their fantastic creative works. We've decided to run a little contest where you, the readers, can tell us what stories you love the most.

We want this to be fair, and we want everyone who wants to have a say, be able to have a say in what FanFic deserves to be voted one of the best. :D

Here's what we need from you.

I'm not sure I want to vote, because half of the choices I don't understand or have any interest in. I'm sad Reassurance wasn't nominated. Maybe we should have a fav Clana scene. I don't know. Cardinal and Hopeful suicide are right. But I think it should be more of a huge poll, where every story gets a shot. That way Reassurance has some chance.

I wouldn't worry about it, there's been like 3 posts in almost two months on this thread. There's no fanfic awards for the Clana board.

I agree that feelings could be hurt. Fanfiction is for fun, not for fame and fortune ....... umm obviously :lol: *checks to see if there's anything but loose change in her pocket. nope!*

I feel I should respond since I'm the one who started the thread (but let me clarify--I did not start the contest). There was some interest started in the discussion threads that people wanted to have the opportunity to show some love to their fave Fan-Fics and authors. Hoping to be as fair as possible TO ALL writers we all said we would open a forum for anyone who wanted to could nominate their favorite story. Every thread both in discussion and nomination were open to everyone--and were meant to only give a pat on the back to those that the mass felt deserved it not to step on the toes of anyone. (Let me also state that I myself am a writer and so I know how hard it is to put yourself 'out there' creatively.)

If you have been around K-site long enough you will see that every month or so someone starts a new thread about awards for Fan-Fiction. We're just in that type of world (Emmys, Oscars, Grammys, Tonys, ya know?) We like to see things we like get their due. Creative works are always subject to judging regardless of how different people's view are.

I personally never meant to offend anyone- if I did I apologize.

I can just say it seems the others who had planned to help out with the 'judging' (or more so 'counting' ) Have since loss interest--so I am not taking it upon myself to be judge and jury.

If you want to give a shout out to one of your fave stories--than by all means do it here. I'm sure the writer will be honored. And that's what it's all about anyway.

If you were referring to me, yeah I'm offended! And I'm sueing you! Joking, I'm not sueing and I'm not offended. Just would have been nice if there was a poll, but a really big one. That way, every story would get at least one vote(hopefully)

There's a limit to the number of options you can have in a poll. I'm pretty sure the mods wouldn't have gone with the number of threads it would have taken to have polls for every ship and every category.

How it was originally intended was for people to place their nominations here--and the ones that were in the top would be put in a poll to be voted on. That seemed the fairest way.

But again, no biggy. We weren't planning on giving away a car or anything. ;)
