Title/Link: Lies and Love
Author: ILoveSmallville4ver
Pairing(s): Clark and Lana
Rating: PG-13
Warnings (if needed): None
Spoilers (when applicable): None

(The beginning of this story might be just a little confusing so I want to give you some information before I start. Here it is:
- Clark Kent, to everyone his life seemed perfect. Of course, so did he even though he would love to change a few things like losing his parents when he was 18 but besides that, he though everything was perfect. Currently, he lived on the farm he was raised on with his girlfriend, Crystal Banks. Clark worked at Smallville High School as the head football couch.
-Lana Lang, her life was the perfect life. She traveled all over the world during the summer taking pictures of everything and everyone. She was currently single, but loved every moment of it. During the winter, spring and fall she was a teacher in New York. How she could afford traveling all over the world on a teacher’s salary, no one knew.

Hopefully it won’t be too confusing now. I am even confused but hopefully you won’t.)

Chapter 1:

‘Welcome to Smallville, Kansas, Meteor Capital of the World.’ That was a sign that Lana Lang would never dream of seeing again up until a couple of months ago. Two months ago, Lana got a letter in the mail offering her a job at Smallville High School as an English and photography teacher. She lived in New York and suddenly she was packing everything up and moving to Smallville. She didn’t know why but she thought that this might be a new adventure for her. Lana accepted the job offer and was now on her way to the Luthor Mansion. Lex Luthor was the only person from Smallville she kept in touch with after she moved to New York when she graduated high school. They traveled together sometimes and when Lex heard that Lana was moving back to Smallville, he insisted on her staying with him until she got settled in her own place. She accepted that offer too. The limo picked her up at the Metropolis International Airport along with some of her items with the other stuff coming in by mail from New York next week. The limo slowly stopped and she knew that she was here. The driver opened the door letting Lana get out. She took her first steps in Smallville in over five years that moment towards the Luthor Mansion. She knocked on the large wooden door and a man opened it.

“Lana Lang, I presume?” He asked.

“Yes.” Lana answered.

“Please follow me. Mr. Luthor is waiting for in his office.” The man moved aside for Lana to enter.

Lana followed the man through the long hallway leading to Lex’s office. She remembered this house. The man opened the double doors and Lana moved into the familiar office.

“The place looks the same. I thought you would have changed it by now.”

“Lana Lang, I never thought that you would be back in Smallville again. I am so glad to see you again.” Lex said getting out of his seat and giving Lana a hug.

“We just saw each other a couple of weeks ago, remember?”

“Yes I do but you have been traveling all over and you are living in New York. I though that you would never be seen in Smallville again.”

“Well, I’m here.”

“Yes you are. Come and sit down please.” Lex said as he led Lana over to the black leather love seat.

“Did you have a good flight?” Lex asked.

“Yes I did. I mean, I did fly in a LuthorCorp plane.”

“Those things are very comfortable. I have to go away until tomorrow morning. I want you to know that you are welcome to stay here as long as you need.”

“Thank you Lex but I am going to try and find an apartment or a house to stay in.”

“Take you time. There is no rush. Your suitcases are in the guest room already along with some other things that you might need. I should be going now.”

“Thank you Lex. You are such a great friend.” Lana said as she stood up.

“You don’t have to thank me. I will see you tomorrow.”

Lex gave Lana one last hug before she was escorted to her room. She walked in and closed the door amazed at the size. She had stayed in hotel rooms this big but never as nice as this. There were floor length windows with a huge four post bed. She walked over to the dresser and picked up a note.

Lana, I hope that you find your room up to your standards. If you need anything please let my staff know. They know that you are allowed anything at anytime. You can use one of my cars if you need to go anywhere. My home is your home. –Lex

Lana put the note back on the dresser and looked around before falling on the bed. Lana awoke to the sunlight shining through the window. She had forgotten to close the curtains the night before. She lifted herself off the bed and looked outside the window. She could see all of Smallville from this room. She walked into the bathroom and began to take her sleeping attire off. Lana turned on the water of the bathtub filling it as much as possible before stepping inside. The water was the perfect temperature for Lana. She liked it hot but cool at the same time. She was relaxed thinking about the times that she spent in Smallville six years ago. She remembered the Talon, Chloe, Pete, and Clark. Lana thought if Clark was still in Smallville, she hadn’t talked to him since she left for New York. Fortunately, she could remember Clark without remembering all of the hard times she went through with him. She left knowing that she would always love him but she was able to get over him. Lana hoped that he would have gotten over her as well.

Chapter 2:

Clark Kent awoke to the smell of fresh coffee. He walked downstairs and leaned on the wall leading to the kitchen.

“What are you starring at Mr. Kent?” Crystal, Clark’s girlfriend, asked.

“Nothing, I just don’t understand why you have to wake up so early.”

“Because if I don’t, you will never get out of bed and we will be in bed all of our lives.”

Clark walked over to Crystal and with her back facing him, he put his arms around her waist.

“Exactly.”

“Could Clark Kent be any hornier in the morning?”

“Yup.”

“Let me stop you there. I have to go to the Talon and work.”

“Do you have to?”

“Yes I do and you should get to work too.”

“You mean this work you call running a farm?”

“Yup and you know what could take your mind off of me and you in bed?”

“What?”

“Fixing the fence and if you want you can be really dangerous and not use your abilities.”

“Why not.”

“I will see you later.”

Clark gave Crystal a kiss before she walked out of the yellow house. Clark drank his morning cup of coffee before going up stairs. He went into the bathroom and turned on the shower while taking his clothes off. He got into the shower and began remembering moments between him and Crystal. After his parents’ death, he met Crystal while she was working at The Talon one afternoon. They got talking and before both of them knew it, they were living together. It was weird at first for Clark to live with a woman that wasn’t his mom but he got used to Crystal making him breakfast in the morning or kissing him at night. One day, Crystal came back from work earlier than usual and went to look for Clark. Since Clark wasn’t expecting her, he was using his abilities to work on the tractor. He soon had to explain everything and to his surprise, she was fine with it. He had been loving her for six years and she had been loving him back for six years.

Chapter 3:

Lana finished her bath and was now getting out of the bathtub. She pulled a warm towel off of the towel rack and dried herself off. Lana wrapped the towel around her and walked into her room. She opened the closet to find her clothes already hanging thanks to one of Lex’s many servants. She pulled out of pair of jeans, a black t shirt and a pair of boots. Lana clothed herself before stepping back into the bathroom to fix her hair. She put it in a neat bun and then walked out of the guest room. She went into the garage where Lex’s cars were.

“May I help you Ms. Lang?” A man asked.

“Yes, maybe you can. Can you please get me the keys to the Porsche over there?” Lana said pointing to the silver Porsche she remembers Lex having when he first came to Smallville.

“Yes, of course. I will be right back.”

The man walked away and left Lana there looking at all of the cars.

“Here you go Ms. Lang. Is there anything else I can do to help you?” The man said as he gave Lana the keys.

“No, thank you. If Lex gets back tell him I went to The Talon.”

“No problem.”

Lana walked over to the silver car and unlocked it. She slipped inside before starting the engine and driving away from the mansion. She put the top down along with all of the windows and just enjoyed the scenery of what used to be her home and what was now going to be her home. When she got to the main street of Smallville, she looked all around. It was the same since she was last here. She smiled when she saw familiar stores and then when she saw The Talon. She parked right in front and stepped outside. She pulled her sunglasses off and looked at it up and down. When she walked inside, she looked around once more. It was like she never saw this place before. Lana took steps towards the counter and sat on a stool.

“What can I get for you?” A woman asked. Crystal asked.

“A cappuccino please.” Lana answered.

“Yes ma’am. Are you new to Smallville?” Crystal asked getting the drink ready.

“No, I lived here before. I just moved back. I am going to be a new teacher at Smallville High.”

“English and Photography?”

“Yes, how did you know?”

“My boyfriend is the football couch. He told me there was going to be a new teacher and I just assumed.”

“Well, you assumed correctly.”

Crystal smiled as she gave Lana the coffee cup. Lana smiled back.

“How much do I owe you?” Lana asked reaching in her purse for her wallet.

“Coffee is on the house.”

“Thank you.”

“I’m Crystal Banks by the way.”

“It’s nice to meet you Crystal. I’m Lana Lang.”

“Nice to meet you too.”

Crystal and Lana shook hands before Lana left. Lana got back into her car just as Clark was getting out of his but they didn’t see each other. Clark walked inside the Talon and straight to the counter.

“Hey Crystal.” Clark said as he sat down on a stool.

“Hey.”

Crystal gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“I just met the new teacher that is going to be working at Smallville High.”

“Really? Is she nice?”

“Yes she is. She actually used to live here in Smallville.”

“What’s her name?”

“Lana Lang.”

“Did you say Lana Lang?”

“Yes, why?”

“Nothing.”

Clark lied. It wasn’t just ‘nothing.’ He hasn’t seen Lana Lang in six years and now she is back in Smallville. Clark couldn’t believe it. Yes, Clark and Lana had kept in touch since she left but he thought that she could at least stop by and say hello. On the other hand, he thought that Lana wouldn’t even know where he lived. He would just have to let it go and wait to see what would happen. Clark thought it would be nice to see Lana now and she what she was up to.

“I am going to get going. I just came into town to get some nails from the hardware store.” Clark said getting off of the stool.

“So you didn’t come by to see me?”

“Of course I didn’t. As I said, I came by to get some nails.”

“You are so mean. Bye.”

“No good bye kiss?”

“No, remember you didn’t come here to see me?”

“I was kidding.”

“Of course you were.”

Crystal leaned across the counter and gave Clark a passionate kiss.

“Come on you two. You would think that you would learn not to do that in a public place by now.”

It was Lex.

“Hey Lex. I thought that you had meetings today.” Clark said.

“I did. I just came back from Metropolis. I just came to get some coffee.” Lex replied.

“Do you want your usual, Lex?” Crystal asked.

“Yes please.”

Crystal went making Lex’s coffee while Lex and Clark continued talking. Once Lex had his coffee both Clark and Lex walked out of the coffee shop.

“Don’t you usually drive your Porsche to town?” Clark asked.

“Yes but I have a friend staying over at my house and she borrowed it for the morning.”

“She?”

“It’s not what you think. She is moving to Smallville and needed a place to stay until she found somewhere else to live.”

“That’s nice of you.”

“What can I say, I am a nice person.” Lex said getting into his Mercedes convertible.

“A nice person that loves women.” Clark said.

“Come by later. We can play some pool.”

“7?”

“8. Bring Crystal if you want. My friend will be there.”

“I will do that.”

“Bye Clark.”

“Bye Lex.”

Chapter 4:

Lana drove the Porsche into the garage. She got her purse out of the car and started walking towards the door leading out of the garage and into the mansion but was stopped when she heard another car pull up. Lana quickly turned around to find Lex pulling up in a convertible. Lex got out of his car and walked over to Lana.

“Hello Lana.”

“Hey Lex. Did you just get back from your meetings?”

“Not really. I stopped by over here but heard that you went to The Talon so I went over there to have coffee with you but you weren’t there either.”

“I’m sorry.” Lana said opening the door leading to the mansion.

Lex and Lana both walked into the well-known mansion and continued on their walk towards Lex’s office.

“Don’t worry about it. I saw a couple of my friends there so I started talking to them. I hope you don’t mind, but I invited them over tonight.”

“No problem. It will give me a chance to meet knew people.”

“You already know this person.”

“Who?”

“Guess.”

“I am bad at guessing games, Lex. Why don’t you give me a hint?”

“Ok. His first name is Clark and his last name is Kent.”

“Clark Kent?”

“Yes, Clark Kent. I hope you don’t mind.”

“No, not at all. I just thought that he would have moved away by now.”

“Nope he lives at the farm with his girlfriend.”

“And his parents?”

“I am afraid not. His parents died.”

“Oh wow. I can’t believe it. The Kents were such nice people.”

“I know.”

Lex and Lana made it to the office and sat down.

“How did they die?” Lana asked as they sat down at Lex’s desk.

“I shouldn’t be the one to tell you.”

“I understand.”

“They will be here at 8 just to let you know.”

“Thanks. I think I am just going to go to my room. I need to go look over a couple of things.”

“Ok, I will see you later.”

(I know this is short but I had to put something in between Clark getting invited and him coming over.)

Chapter 5:

The doorbell rang. Lana could hear it echoing through the mansion and into her bedroom. She looked at her watch. It was 8, it was Clark. A voice had come through the intercom in her bedroom. Lana shut her laptop. She had been looking at pictures she took in Paris. She walked over to the intercom.

“Ms. Lang, Mr. Luthor said that the guests have arrived. They are all in the study.”

“Thank you.”

She looked at herself in the mirror one last time before walking out of the bedroom. She walked down what seemed to be an endless hallway. She opened the doors to the study and walked in. In the study there was a fireplace with a love seat facing it and two matching chairs on the side, closing in the fireplace. The walls were filled with shelves that were filled with books that were filled with words. Lex got up. Soon he was followed by Clark, the man she hasn’t seen since she graduated high school.

“Lana, it’s good to see you again.” Clark said stretching out his hand for Lana to shake.

“It’s good to see you too, Clark.”

Lana shook his hand but soon followed by giving him a hug.

“Why don’t we sit down?” Lex said moving Clark and Lana over to the couch.

“Yes, let’s sit down.”

Lana, Clark and Lex sat down. Clark was next to Crystal while Lex and Lana took the separate chairs.

“It’s nice to see you again, Crystal.” Lana said.

“It’s nice to see you too.” Crystal said.

“So, Lana, you are the new teacher at Smallville High?” Clark asked.

“Yes, English and photography. You are the football coach?” Lana asked.

“How did you know?” Clark said.

“Crystal told me when we met earlier at The Talon.” Lana answered.

“Oh right. I forgot you guys met already.” Clark said.

The conversation had seemed to die down after that. Lana and Clark seemed to become more and more nervous. The doors opened and a man entered.

“I am sorry to interrupt Mr. Luthor but there is someone on the telephone that needs to speak to you.” The man said.

“Thank you.”

The man left and Lex got up.

“I am really sorry but I should take this call.”

Lex left leaving Lana, Clark and Crystal by themselves.

“I am sorry to have to leave too but I really need to make a phone call.” Crystal said getting up.

“No problem.” Clark said.

Crystal gave Clark a kiss on the cheek before going outside the study.

“This is awkward.” Clark said.

“Just a little bit.”

“We should get together sometime for dinner or something like that, to catch up.”

“Yes, we should.”

“How about this weekend?”

“Sure.”

Crystal walked into the study.

“Crystal, is everything alright?” Clark asked.

“Yes, I just have to go out of town to visit my cousin for a couple of days.” Crystal answered.

“Oh, ok.” Clark said.

“I was wondering if you could drop me off at home so I can get packing. I need to leave tomorrow morning.”

“Sure. I am sorry Lana. I have to get going. I will call you and we can schedule that get together.”

“Of course, don’t worry about it.”

Both Lana and Clark got up. Clark gave Lana a hug before walking over to Crystal.

“It was nice meeting you Crystal.” Lana said.

“It was nice to meet you too, Lana.” Crystal said.

Lex had walked in the doors.

“Are you two going somewhere?” Lex asked looking at Crystal and Clark.

“I have to go away for a couple of days to see my cousin, so I have to go and pack.” Crystal said.

“We’re sorry.” Clark said.

“Don’t worry about it. It seems that I have to go away as well for meetings.” Lex added.

“What a coincidence.” Lana said.

“We should get going, Clark. Goodbye Lex. Goodbye Lana.” Crystal said.

“Goodbye.” Lex said.

“Goodbye.” Lana said.

Clark and Lana walked out of the study leaving Lana and Lex alone.

“Lana, I hate to have to leave as well but I have some stuff to pack for the meetings and I should get some sleep. I need to get up early.” Lex said.

“Don’t worry about it. I have to work on some pictures that I took a couple of weeks ago anyways.”

“Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.”

They both went their separate ways. Lana into her bedroom and Lex into his. That morning, Lana had awoken strangely early. She heard wheels on the wooden floor outside. She let it go thinking that it was just Lex wheeling his suitcase but she hadn’t the sudden urge to get up and see for herself when she heard a female voice. She quietly walked out of bed and opened the door just so much that she could see and hear what was going on but not be seen herself. What she saw surprised her. She quietly ran over to her camera bag and took out her camera. She walked back over to the door and quickly started taking pictures. She would need them later. If she didn’t take them, she would be accused of lying.

Chapter 6:

Lex’s Porsche drove as fast as Lana could drive it. She needed to talk to someone right now. She needed to show someone something right now. She couldn’t believe that she still remembered how to get here. As she drove up the dirt driveway, she thought about what she would say. She parked the car in front of the house, and got out with an envelope in her hands. Inside were the pictures that she took just this morning. Lana walked up the stairs, took a deep breath and took off her sunglasses before knocking on the door. She remembered doing this so many times when she used to live here all those years ago.

“Lana?” Clark asked as he opened the door letting Lana enter.

“Hi Clark.”

“We didn’t have plans today, did we?”

“No, I just need to tell you something. It’s more like show you something.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Can we sit down?”

“Of course. Come on, we can sit on the couch.”

Clark led Lana over to the couch in the living room.

“I woke up this morning and saw something.” Lana said.

“What did you see?” Clark asked.

“Here, you better take a look at these.”

Lana handed Clark the envelope with pictures. He looked at a couple of them before throwing them on the coffee table and getting off of the couch.

“Clark, I am sorry. I didn’t know how to tell you so when I saw it, I knew that you wouldn’t believe me if I just told you.”

“Where did you find those pictures?”

“I took them this morning from my room.”

“I can’t believe it.”

Lana picked up the pictures and looked at them once again just as she would if she saw them for the first time. They were pictures of Lex and Crystal. They were more than just friends. Crystal had been cheating on Clark with Lex and Lex was going behind Clark’s back. Lana couldn’t believe it and Clark was still in shock.

“Clark I am really sorry.”

“Don’t be, you’re not the one going behind my back cheating on me with my best friend.”

“I guess I should be going. You probably want to be alone right now.”

Lana got off the couch and started walking for the door but Clark blocked her exit.

“You don’t have to go. Maybe we could talk and catch up right now. I mean if you are not busy.”

“No I’m not busy.”

“Good, do you want to go and take a walk?”

“Sure, I would love that.”

“Ok, come on.”

Clark opened the screen door that led to the outside of the house and let Lana through before walking out himself.

“So, what have you been doing since high school?” Clark asked.

“I have been living in New York.”

“New York?”

“Yes except I have been traveling around the world taking pictures.”

“That sounds exciting.”

“It is. I like it especially since you get to see so many things you can’t see in America.”

“I have always wanted to travel more but I never seemed to have the chance running the farm by myself and everything.”

“You will be able to, don’t worry.”

“I hope so.”

“What about you? What have you been doing since high school?”

“I am the football coach at Smallville High as you already know and then just running the farm.”

“That sounds cool.”

“No it doesn’t.”

“If you say so.”

Clark and Lana shared a small laugh before continuing their walk. They didn’t know where they were going but they didn’t care either. They were old friends catching up on good times. Lana’s cell phone started ringing.

“That’s my phone. Sorry.” Lana said taking her phone out of her pocket.

“No problem.”

“Hello?” Lana said answering the phone.

“Hi Lana, this is Lex. I just want to see if everything is ok?” The other person on the phone said.

Without even thinking, Lana hung up the phone. Clark heard the conversation with his enhanced hearing.

“Who was that?” Clark asked when Lana put the phone back in her pocket.

“It was no one.”

“It was Lex, wasn’t it?”

“Yes, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I just can’t believe that they would do this to me after all that we have been through.”

“I don’t mean to bring up another bad thing but I heard about your parents dieing.”

“Don’t worry about it. They died, it’s natural.”

“Your parents were really nice people. I loved them like they were my own parents.”

“They were really nice people. After they died, I couldn’t face living in the house. I actually stayed in the loft for about a week until I got enough courage to go back inside.”

“Do you still have that loft?”

“It’s still there. I don’t go there as much as I used to but when I have nothing to do then I go up there.”

“I remember that loft. We saw a lot of sunsets up there.”

Clark and Lana smiled at the memories that came up in their minds.

“Yes we did.”

“Oh no, I just remembered something.”

“What is it?”

“Nothing, it’s nothing.”

“Lana, it’s not nothing when you say ‘oh no’ and then say ‘nothing, nothing.’ I know you too well.”

“It’s just that, you are going to tell Crystal about the pictures, aren’t you?”

“I was planning to, why?”

“She is going to wonder where the pictures came from and then Lex will start to wonder and he will link them back to me taking them.”

“I don’t see what’s wrong with that.”

“He is going to kick me out of his house.”

“Now I see what’s wrong.”

“I better get started on looking for another place to stay.”

“You could always stay here until you find somewhere else.”

“I don’t mean to be rude or anything, Clark, but I don’t think that is such a good idea.”

“It’s fine. There is an extra room that no one ever uses. You can have your own bathroom.”

“What about Crystal?”

“What about her?”

“Doesn’t she live with you?”

“She is just going to have to move out. I am not going to have her living in my house after what she did.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes I am sure.”

“I guess it will be all right then.”

“If you need help moving, just ask me. I still have the old truck.”

“The red one?”

“Yes, the red one.”

“I should get going if I want to start packing. When do you think I can move my stuff over here?”

“Tonight if you want.”

“Ok, I will call you if you need help.”

“You know my number.”

“Yes I do. Thanks Clark.”

“No thank you.”

Lana gave Clark a hug before walking back to the car and getting in. She put her sunglasses back on and started the car. As she drove back down the dirt road, she put her hand up and waved. Clark was on his way back to the house trying to remember the last time she was here. He couldn’t remember. It had been to long. Clark Kent hadn’t seen Lana Lang in such a long time and now she was back in his life. Crystal and Lex would be back tomorrow and he still couldn’t think of why they would do this. He went into the barn and continued doing chores as Lana continued driving towards Lex’s mansion. The mansion that was consumed with lies and secrets. The mansion that she once thought was a good place, full of love. Lies and love, what a perfect combination.

Chapter 7:

Lana parked the car in the garage and went straight to her bedroom in the Luthor mansion. She was greeted by the same man that greeted her all the other times.

“Ms. Lang, is there anything I can do for you?” The man asked.

“Yes, have someone pack up all of my stuff in my room please.”

“Yes ma’am.”

The man left Lana’s sight and she continued to her bedroom. She closed the door and looked around. She didn’t need to pack, that was going to get taken care of by someone else. She didn’t need to find a place to stay, that was also taken care of. All she could do now was wait for her stuff to be packed and then for her to call Clark to come and pick her up. Lana picked up a book that she was reading and sat down on a chair near one of the large windows. She read for what seemed like ages until she heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.” She said.

Three people entered.

“We are here to pack up your stuff, Ms. Lang.” One of the servants said.

“Yes please, everything that wasn’t here before, goes, including my things in the bathroom.”

“Yes ma’am. Should we send them somewhere?”

“No, I will be moving them myself.”

“Yes ma’am.”

Lana stood up and let them pack her stuff. It wasn’t much, just a few suitcases with clothes and necessary items that anybody would need. She walked out of the bedroom and down the hallway into Lex’s study. She took the same seat that she had yesterday night and continued to read her book. It wasn’t a very interesting book but it was something to keep her mind off of the fact that she just broke two relationships. One between Lex and Clark and one between Crystal and Clark. Make that three relationships, the one that Lex and her had will probably be over as well.

“Ms. Lang, all of your things are packed. Is there anything else I can do for you?”

“No, but thank you for everything that you have done already.”

“No need to thank me.”

Lana put the bookmark in her book and pulled out her cell phone. She dialed Clark’s number and hoped that Clark would answer soon.

“Hello?” Clark answered.

A smile spread through Lana’s face.

“Hey Clark, its Lana.”

“Oh hey, are you done packing?”

“Yes I am.”

“I will pick you up in like ten minutes, is that all right?”

“Yes it is.”

“Bye.”

“Bye Clark.”

Clark and Lana hung up their phones. Clark put his phone back in his pocket and walked out of the barn. He got the keys to the old red truck out of his pocket and walked to the truck. He opened the driver’s seat and got in. Closes the door and put his seat belt on thinking if he was doing the right thing letting Lana live with him for a little while. She was the girl that he used to love, used to want to be around all the time and she was the girl that left Smallville six years ago with no good reason. He started the car and made his way to Lex’s house. Clark enjoyed the scenery that traveled with him on his journey. He goes down the street to Lex’s house almost every day to get to Lex’s house or the high school but that is the thing about living in Smallville, there are always different things to look at. Clark pulled up to the driveway and got out of the truck. He quickly walked over to the large wooden doors and knocked three times before Lana answered.

“Hey Lana, are ready to go?” Clark asked.

“Yes I am. Let me just get my stuff.” Lana said letting Clark in.

Clark walked in as Lana turned her back on him to pick up two suitcases.

“That’s all you have?”

“For now, my stuff from New York hasn’t come yet.”

“I was thinking that, that was the case. Let me help you with those.” Clark said taking the suitcases from Lana.

“Thanks Clark.”

Clark and Lana walked out of the mansion with Lana closing the door behind them. They walked over to the truck and Clark put the suitcases in the back. Lana went to open the passenger side door but Clark beat her.

“I can open it myself Clark.” Lana said.

“I know but for some reason, I felt like I should open it.”

“Well thank you Mr. Kent.”

“You are welcome Ms. Lang.”

Lana got in the truck before Clark closing the door. Clark quickly walks over to his side of the truck and gets in. He starts the car and both of them were off.

“Clark, I want to thank you again for letting me stay at your house.”

“Don’t worry about it Lana. I mean you told me that Crystal was cheating on me, anybody else would have just forgotten about it.”

“I am sorry about that too. I am sure that you really loved her.”

“I did. She was there after my parents died.”

“I am sorry that I wasn’t here. If I knew that they died, I would have come back to see how you were.”

“I know you would have but you didn’t know and plus you were in New York.”

“Yes I was.”

“Why did you leave?”

“What?”

“Why did you leave Smallville?”

“I am not sure. I guess I just wanted to see what else was out there, explore my options. Do you know what I mean?”

“I think so.”

“I got accepted to a college in New York and went for it. I thought you knew that.”

“Actually I didn’t but that isn’t important. What is important is that we are friends again.”

“Right.”

They had arrived at the Kent farm. Lana got out just as Clark got out and got the luggage out of the back of the truck. Clark and Lana both walked up to the house together. Clark unlocked the door and let Lana in first. He then walked in and closed the door.

“Let me show you to your room.” Clark said.

Clark walked up the stairs first and then opened a door leading to the guest room.

“I know it isn’t like the room you had at Lex’s house but…” Clark started.

“I like it.”

“Good.”

Clark put the luggage down by the dresser and walked back to the door.

“Dinner is, well, there isn’t really a set time for it. When you get hungry, just tell me and I can make you something. There are drinks in the fridge. If you need anything else just tell me.”

“I will do that.”

“I have some chores to do right now so I will be out in the barn. Help yourself to anything in the house.”

“Thanks Clark.”

Lana gave Clark another hug before he walked out. The rest of the day went by quickly. Lana unpacked some of her clothes and put them in the closet or the dresser before going out to the barn. She watched Clark do some of his chores and then they had dinner. Lana went to bed earlier then usual, it might have been because she was waken up too early in the morning. She just wanted to get this day over with and so did Clark.

Chapter 8:

Clark sat alone in the living room watching the morning news. He couldn’t sleep, in fact, he didn’t sleep. He tried but failed. All he kept thinking about was what he would tell Crystal when she arrived this morning. He heard a car pull up and knew it was time for explanations. Crystal walked through the screen door and put her bag down on the living room. She saw Clark on the couch and walked over. She sat down next to him but as soon as she did, he got up and went to the kitchen.

“Clark, is there something wrong?” Crystal said following him.

“Is there something wrong, is there something wrong. Why don’t you tell me, Crystal?”

“Clark, what are you talking about?”

“I am talking about you and Lex.”

“What about me and Lex.”

“You know what I mean.”

“No, sorry, I don’t.”

Clark got the envelope with the pictures in it and gave it to Crystal. She opened it and saw the pictures of her and Lex kissing.

“Clark, are you spying on me?”

“Why would I be? I never had any reason to. I always trusted you and loved you but you went and cheated on me with my best friend.”

Clark’s voice was getting louder and louder with every word he said.

“Clark, I’m sorry. Please, just calm down and we can talk.”

“I can not believe that you just told me to calm down. I just found out that my girlfriend of six years cheated on me. The girlfriend that I was planning on asking her to marry me and have a family with, the girlfriend that I trusted with my secrets, secrets that I have never told anyone else. I’m sorry Crystal, but I can’t calm down now.”

“Look Clark, I am sorry. I really am. Why don’t you at least try and calm down while I put my stuff upstairs and take a shower. After that, we can talk about this like adults.”

“You can’t go and put your stuff upstairs or take a shower upstairs anymore.”

“What are you talking about?”

“You don’t live here anymore. All of your stuff is by the door.” Clark said pointing to suitcases and boxes filled with stuff by the door.

“Where am I supposed to go?”

“Why don’t you go and ask your new boyfriend, Lex.”

“I can’t stay there and plus he has his friend living with him.”

“You should have thought about that before you did what you did. As for Lana, she isn’t there anymore.”

“Where is she then?”

“She is upstairs, in the guest room.”

“What?”

“She is upstairs in the guest room sleeping.”

“Don’t tell me you are dating her now.”

“No because when she went upstairs yesterday, we technically were still dating, and I don’t cheat on my girlfriend.”

“Whatever.”

“Bye Crystal.”

Crystal picked up her stuff and transported it to her car before taking off. Clark went back and sat down on the couch. He couldn’t believe what he just did. He just broke up with his girlfriend of six years. She was the girl that helped him through everything and now she was gone. Clark felt like screaming and that is what he did. He grabbed a pillow and put it over his face and screamed as loud as he could. When he was done, he had just remembered that Lana was sleeping and he probably woke her up. The fight would have probably waken her up if the scream didn’t. Upstairs, Lana rolled in bed. She looked at the alarm clock and saw that it was eight in the morning. She couldn’t fall asleep. She was unsuccessful the first time and the second time she tried. She peeled off the blue sheet that she used to cover herself during the night and got out of bed. Lana took her robe out of the closet and walked out of her room. She quietly walked down the stairs careful not to wake up Clark not knowing that he was already awake. When she came to the living room she saw Clark watching the news.

“I didn’t know you were awake already.” Lana said as she sat down next to him.

“You didn’t? I though that you would have been waken up by the yelling.”

“Who did you yell at?”

“Guess.”

“Crystal?”

“You guessed right.”

“Where is she?”

“Probably at her new boyfriend’s house.”

Lana could see the anger and sadness in Clark’s eyes.

“You really love her, don’t you?”

“I did but I don’t anymore.”

“You didn’t get over her that quickly, Clark.”

“How do you know?”

“No one ever gets over someone they really loved that quickly, it’s impossible for a person to mend their heart that fast.”

“Maybe for everyone else but I am already over her.”

“Prove it.”

“How do you want me to prove it?”

“I don’t know, but you need to do something that shows that you are over her.”

“Sorry Lana but I don’t know what to do to prove it.”

“That’s ok, it was worth a try.”

“Thanks anyways but I don’t have to show you that I am over her because I am over her.”

“If you say so. Who is making breakfast?”

“I guess I will since I actually live here and you don’t.”

“Right, I am a guest. Clark Kent has to wait on me hand and foot.”

“Fine Lana, you make breakfast.” Clark said getting off of his place on the couch.

“No Clark, really you can make breakfast.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am absolutely sure.”

“What would you like?”

“What can you make?”

“Whatever you want.”

“How about blueberry pancakes?”

“You got it.” Clark said making his way to the kitchen.

“While you are making breakfast, I am going to take a shower.” Lana said getting up.

“Don’t use all of the hot water.”

“Why?”

“If you use all of hot water then I am left with just cold water.”

“A cold shower, I bet you take a lot of those, Clark Kent.” Lana said making her ways up the stairs.

Lana walked up the stairs smiling knowing that she made Clark think about what she just said. She walked into the bathroom across from her bedroom and locked the door. Lana pulled back the shower curtain and turned on the water. She stripped off her clothing and got inside the shower before closing the curtain. The hot water was calming. It made her forget about everything that had been going on the last couple of days. When her shower was over, she turned off the water and wrapped a towel around her body. She heard a knock on the door. She unlocked the door and opened it. It was Clark.

“I just wanted to make sure that you had enough towels.” Clark said trying not to look at an almost naked Lana.

“Yes I do and Clark you can look at me. I do have a towel on and I am sure that you have seen naked women before.”

“Of course I have. Why would you think I haven’t?”

“Because you are acting like you never have.”

“Well I have.”

“Ok Clark, whatever you say.”

Lana moved past Clark and opened her bedroom door.

“You can go and take your cold shower now.” Lana said before closing the door behind her.

Clark stood there, leaning against the frame of the bathroom door thinking about what just happened. The only thing that he could think of was what Lana said moments ago about proving that he was over Crystal. One way you could prove it, is by falling in love with someone else. He was proving it. He was falling in love with Lana Lang again and he didn’t know why.

Chapter 9:

Clark walked out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around his waist, hoping not to see Lana before he got into his bedroom to put some clothes on. His wish was not granted. Just as he was about to go inside his bedroom, Lana walked out of her bedroom.

“I guess you felt like trying out the new towel wearing fashions.”

“Lana, Lana, Lana. You are going to do something to embarrass me, aren’t you?”

“No, I’m not going to.”

“Then I am going to my room to put some actual clothes on.”

“Have fun.”

Clark started walking into his room but just as he was about to close the door, Lana reached inside and pulled his towel off. Clark quickly closed the door before Lana could see anything.

“I lied.” Lana shouted outside the door.

“I am going to get you back.”

“No you won’t.”

Lana dropped Clark’s towel that she was holding and walked away smiling. Clark stood behind the door embarrassed thinking that Lana could have seen something. He got dressed as fast as he could and walked out into the living room where he saw Lana sitting on a stool by the counter looking at her camera.

“You should really think about holding the towel while you are wearing it. That way it will prevent little incidents like the towel falling from happening.” Lana said.

“The towel did not fall, you pulled it off.”

“Did I? I don’t remember. I was trying so hard to catch a glimpse of, well you know.”

“I am definitely going to get you back for saying that.”

“What are you going to do, pull my towel off next time?”

“Maybe.”

“You wouldn’t.”

“I would.”

“While you are thinking about your little plan to get me back, which you never will, I am going to take a walk around the farm.”

“Have fun.”

Lana grabbed her camera off of the counter and got off the stool. She opened the screen door and walked out of the house. She needed to take pictures of something, whatever it was. She was a photographer and she was running low on her fuel of photo taking. She walked past the barn and into a field. Lana took pictures of everything she could find, everything that she thought was interesting, which wasn’t much. She walked back to the house and saw Clark sitting on the porch with two glasses of lemonade.

“Do you want some?” Clark asked.

“Sure, let me just put my camera inside.”

“Ok.”

Lana walked inside the house and put her camera on the kitchen counter. She walked back outside and sat on the chair next to Clark.

“Did you think of a way to get me back yet?”

“As a matter of fact, I did.”

“Really, how?"

“Like this.”

Clark lifted up the hose and started spraying water all over Lana. He stopped the water and looked at her with a huge smile.

“Clark Kent, you’re a dead man.”

Lana got out of her chair and rushed over to Clark but Clark was already out of his seat and down the stairs. He squirted water at Lana once more before she tackled him to the ground. She got the hose out of Clark’s grip and squirted water on his face.

“Clark, I am soaked.” Lana said.

“So am I.”

“Now we are even, all right?”

“I guess so.”

“Good.”

Clark and Lana were still on the ground, soaked, with Lana straddling Clark’s waist from tackling him. Clark’s mind was telling him no but his heart was telling him yes. He always listened to his heard. He leaned in and kissed Lana. When he pulled away, Lana looked at him surprised at his actions.

“I’m sorry, Lana. I shouldn’t have done that.”

Lana got off of Clark and walked away into the house. Clark ran after her.

“Lana, please say something. I said I was sorry.”

Lana turned around and looked at a Clark that had a sad expression on his face.

“What did you kiss me for?”

“I am not sure, but I think that I am falling in love with you.”

“You think or you know?”

“I know.”

Lana walked up to Clark, and took his face in her hands.

“I know too that I am falling in love with you.”

She kissed Clark with more passion than just moments ago. Lana put her arms around Clark’s neck as he put his arms around her waist. She wrapped her legs around Clark and pulled away from the kiss.

“My room or yours?” She whispered in his ear.

“My bed is bigger.” Clark whispered back.

They continued kissing as Clark transported them both up the stairs and into his bedroom. He shut the door and walked backwards towards his bed. The back of his knees hit the edge of the bed as he fell on it. Lana was still straddling his waist while she pulled away from the long and passionate kiss. She pulled Clark’s wet t-shirt over his head and went down for another kiss before Clark pulled her shirt off. Lana began to unbutton Clark’s jeans before taking them off and Clark took of Lana’s skirt. They continued kissing and taking off their clothes before nothing was left. They fell asleep happy and satisfied in each other’s arms. Clark knew that he was now in love and Lana knew that she was in love. They both knew that they were in love with each other.

Chapter 10:

The night ended and morning started. The sun rays came through Clark’s window as he slowly started to wake up. He turned in the bed to face the window and saw that Lana was still in bed. She was lying with her stomach down and the sheets barely covering her body. Clark placed a kiss on her forehead before taking the covers off of his naked body. He went to his dresser, pulled out jeans and a blue t shirt and put them on. Clark went to the door and quietly opened it before turning around once more to look at Lana still sleeping. Walking down the stairs of the silent house, Clark heard a knock on the door. He walked up to the door and opened it.

“Lex.” Clark said when he saw who it was.

“Clark, I think that we need to talk.”

“Go ahead I am listening.”

“I’m sorry…”

Clark slammed the door right when Lex said that. Clark thought that you should say sorry when you do something that is an accident, not when you go behind your friend’s back and steal your girlfriend. Lex knocked again and Clark answered.

“If the next words that are going to come out of your mouth are I’m and sorry, then I don’t want to hear it.” Clark said.

“Look Clark, I think that we need to talk.”

“Fine.”

Clark opened the screen door and as Lex was about to walk inside, Clark walked outside.

“We can talk out here, Lex.” Clark said.

“No problem.”

They sat down on the same table that Clark and Lana sat down on yesterday and Lex started to speak.

“Clark, I really am sorry.”

“Sorry about what Lex? Sorry that you stole my ex-girlfriend behind my back or sorry that I found out?”

“Look Clark, I don’t know what happened but I promise that I will never do it again and I hope that this won’t affect our friendship.”

“We don’t have a friendship anymore, Lex.”

“Are you sure?”

“As sure as I will ever be.”

“I have one more question.”

“What?”

“Do you know where Lana is? She packed up all of her stuff and when I got back, she wasn’t there. She didn’t say where she was going either.”

“Lana is fine. I know where she is but if she wanted you to know then she would have told you by now.”

“Fine Clark but tell her that her stuff from New York is at my house and she should pick it up.”

“I will.”

“Bye Clark.”

“Bye Lex.”

Lex walked down the steps of the yellow house and back into his car before driving away. Clark waited until he was gone before walking back into the house and up to his room. Lana was just waking up from her peaceful slumber. She looked at the window to her left and smiled. Clark walked into his room and saw Lana stretched out on the bed.

“Good morning, Lana.”

“Good morning.” Lana said as she got her naked body out of bed and walked to Clark.

“Clark, you already put your clothes on.”

“Yes I did and as much as I would love to see you with no clothes on all the time, I think that you should put some clothes on.”

“On one condition.”

“What?”

“We do this again later.”

“You liked it that much?”

Lana smiled.

“Fine. Now put some clothes on. I will be downstairs.”

“Ok.”

Clark started walking out the door but before he could make it out all they way, Lana hit him on the butt.

“Lana.”

Lana just smiled and closed the door. She realized that her clothes were in the other room so she went to the bed and grabbed one of the sheets and wrapped it around herself before walking out of the door. Clark stood outside the door.

“I though you were downstairs?”

“I was just going. I had to use the bathroom.”

“Ok.”

“Where are you going?”

“To my room. All of my clothes are over there.”

“Right. We should talk about that later.”

“What?”

“Your room, we need to talk about it.”

“Ok, I am going to my room now.”

Lana started walking into her room but before she could, Clark pulled the sheet off. Lana turned around before closing the door.

“That was not funny, Clark. I will get you back for that.”

“Remember last time someone tried to get someone back for something.”

“Exactly.”

Clark smiled. He walked into his room, put the sheet back on the bed and walked downstairs. Shortly after, Lana walked down the stairs into the living room.

“Clark, can we talk about the thing with my room now?”

“Sure. Come and sit down.”

Lana took a seat next to Clark as the conversation started.

“Lex came by just now.”

“What did he say?”

“That he hopes that we can still be friends and I said no but then he asked where you were.”

“What did you say?”

“I said that if you wanted him to know, you would have told him by now and he said that your stuff from New York is already here.”

“Damn it. I keep forgetting to find an apartment or house.”

“That’s what I wanted to talk about.”

“What is it?”

“I want you to move in with me.”

Chapter 11:

“Can you repeat that one more time, please?” Lana asked.

“I said I want you to move in with me.”

“Why?”

“What do you mean why?”

“I mean why do you want me to move in with you?”

“First is because you need a place to live and you haven’t found one yet and second is because we love each other. You do love me, right?”

“Of course I love you but are you sure that you want me to live with you?”

“Yes I am. I know that we can make this work.”

“Are you really, really sure?”

“Yes I am really, really sure.”

“Ok, I guess I can.”

“Really?”

“Yes!”

Lana gave Clark a hug before giving him a very passionate kiss.

“I should go and pick my stuff up at Lex’s house.” Lana said.

“Do you want me to go with you?”

“Are you sure you want to go? I mean Crystal might be there.”

“That’s ok. I am dating you now, Lana, and I think I proved that I am over her yesterday night.”

“Yes you did and what a amazing way to prove it.”

“Do you want to go right now?”

“Sure.”

Clark and Lana got off the couch and walked out of the house. Clark got his car keys out of his pocket and they both walked to the red truck. Clark and Lana got in before they started driving to the mansion.

“Lana, did you get a car yet?” Clark asked.

“Nope.”

“You can use the truck whenever, you know that right?”

“I do now.”

“Good.”

Clark and Lana arrived at the mansion. Both of them got out and started walking towards the door. Lana knocked on the door and both of them waited for someone to answer. A woman answered the door. Crystal answered the door.

“Hello Clark. Lana.” She said.

“Hi Crystal, is Lex here?” Lana asked.

“Yes, he is in his office.”

Crystal let both of them in before closing the door. Crystal watched Clark and Lana closely, while they were walking, for any indications that they were dating and Lana saw this. Lana quickly grabbed Clark’s hand and held it in her own. Clark looked down at Lana and smiled. Shortly after, they arrived in Lex’s office.

“Lex, honey, Clark and Lana are here to see you.” Crystal announced as she walked in the door.

“Thank you Crystal.”

Crystal walked over to Lex, sitting at his desk, and stood behind his chair.

“Lana, I just wanted to let you know that your stuff from New York has arrived.” Lex said.

“Thank you Lex. Where is everything?” Lana asked.

“In the room you stayed in. I am assuming that you don’t need that room anymore.”

“No I don’t. Thank you for letting me stay here.”

“No problem but may I ask where you are staying?”

“I am staying at Clark’s house.” Lana asked looking at Clark and then looking at Crystal with a death stare.

“Ok then. You can get your things today if you would like or I can send them over to the farm.”

“You wouldn’t mind dropping them off?” Lana asked.

“I don’t think that is such a good idea.” Crystal said.

“No, I don’t mind dropping them off. Is tomorrow good?” Lex asked.

“Tomorrow will be fine. Thank you.”

“Goodbye Lana. Goodbye Clark.”

“Goodbye Lex.” Lana said before Clark and Lana walked out of the mansion and into the car.

Chapter 12:

The red truck pulled up to the yellow house. Clark and Lana got out.

“Are you mad at me Clark?” Lana asked as they walked up the stairs.

“No, why?”

“Because during the whole ride here, you didn’t talk to me at all.”

“That’s because I was thinking about last night.”

“That explains the huge smile but seriously are mad because I asked Lex to drop of the stuff? I should have asked you I know but I totally forgot, I mean I only decided to move into my boyfriends house this morning.”

“I am your boyfriend?”

“Clark!” Lana said slapping him on the arm.

“I was kidding and no I am not mad.”

“Good.”

“But if I was, you would have to find a way to say your sorry.”

“I know a way.”

“In that case, I am mad, Lana. I am very, very mad at you.”

“Too late.”

“Fine.”

Clark opened the door and they both walked in.

“I have farm work to do. I will be done in about an hour.”

“No problem. Can I have the car keys, I want to go to the Talon.”

“Here.” Clark said giving the keys to Lana.

“I will be back in about ten minutes.”

“Take your time.”

“Bye.” Lana said giving him a kiss.

“Bye.

Lana walked out of the house and walked to the car. She opened the door and got in. She never drove the truck before. Probably no one ever did besides Clark and his late father. Lana drove to The Talon and parked the truck in front. She took the keys and her purse and got out of the truck. The Talon seemed rather empty at that time. It was usually fuller on a summer weekday when she ran the place. She walked to the counter and ordered her coffee. As she was waiting, she heard someone yell her name. She turned around, not expecting her. It was Crystal and she was calling Lana’s name.

“Lana, can we talk?” Crystal asked.

“I don’t think there is nothing to talk about. I have to go.”

“Please, I just need to tell you something.”

“Fine, but can you make it quick? I have somewhere to be.”

“Sure. Let’s sit down.”

“Ok.”

Crystal and Lana sat down on a table in the far corner of the coffee shop.

“Look Lana, I know you are dating Clark now.”

“So this is about Clark?”

“Yes.”

“What? Are you going to tell me to dump him so he will come back to you?”

“No, of course not. I just want to tell you something about him that I think you should know.”

“What?”

“He is different.”

Crystal revealed the darkest secret Lana had ever known. This was the secret that he kept from her for their lifetime. This was the secret that Clark told no one and suddenly, she knew everything. Lana quickly, walked out of the Talon, leaving Crystal behind smiling wickedly. This was her plan, this was Crystal’s plan to get Clark Kent back. What see didn’t know was that the plan would backfire. Lana got back into the red truck and drove to the Kent farm as quickly as possible. She ran out of the car and onto the field that see saw Clark on. Clark turned around not knowing that Lana knows.

“Lana, what’s wrong?” Clark asked.

“You’re not human.”

Chapter 12:

The secret was out, and she knew everything. The secret that he was soon going to tell her and tried to hide from her when they were in high school was out. He didn’t know how but it was. Lana stood there, starring at Clark who apparently didn’t know what to say.

“Lana, I’m sorry but can you repeat that one more time?” Clark asked in hopes that what she said wasn’t really said.

“You’re not human.”

“Why would you say that?” Clark said walking away from Lana.

“Crystal told me.”

“Maybe she was lying.”

“I don’t think she was Clark. Come on, it explains everything. It explains all of the times that you have saved me and everyone else in Smallville.”

“Lana, if that is true, that I’m really a human, then shouldn’t you be running for the hills by now?”

“No and do you want to know why?”

“Why?”

“I love you Clark Kent. I always have and I always will. I don’t care if you are an alien or not. To me you have always been a human, with a great heart. If loving a non human is wrong then I don’t want to be right.”

Clark walked over to Lana and kissed her so passionately, that it left them both breathless beyond belief.

“So it’s true?” Lana asked.

“Yes it is. I’m not human.”

“I love you Clark.”

“I love you too Lana.”

They kissed again before walking away from the field.

“Now can you tell me what you know?”

“I know about your home planet, all of that kryptonite stuff and your abilities.”

“Do you want to know what happened when I first got my abilities?”

“Will it make you embarrassed?”

“Yes.”

“Then I want to hear.”

“Ok…” Clark said letting out a small laugh.

“…The strength and speed, I pretty much always had so I don’t remember how I got those but the x-ray vision, I remember very, very well.”

“Why?”

“Because of you.”

“What do I have to do with it?”

“Well, I was in gym class one day and I was climbing the ropes with Pete when all of a sudden I saw all of Pete’s muscles in his face. I fell off the rope.”

“Ouch.”

“It didn’t hurt but when I fell off, my x-ray vision was still on. I was looking at the wall that covers the girl’s locker room. This is where you come in. You walk down to your locker wearing nothing but a small towel. You turn around and drop it.”

“The towel?”

“Yes.”

“So Clark Kent got a show?”

“Yes I did and that also explains why I had a big smile that day. Thank you by the way.”

“Anytime.”

“For my heat vision, it’s a little bit more embarrassing for me.”

“What happened?”

“It was the first day of sophomore year. We were in this very hot room and we were watching a sex education film. The substitute was wearing a very short dress that day and well lets just say that’s when it happened.”

“I think I know where this is going.”

“The day after, I was in the Talon with you and you were talking, I don’t remember what but you said something about passion. It was very hot then too and I started another fire.”

“So the heat started it?”

“No.”

“What did then?”

“You.”

“Me again? Explain please.”

“Both times, I was thinking about you and me.”

“Wow. Are you saying that when you got rather excited, you started a fire?”

“Yes.”

Lana turned to face Clark.

“Clark, would you like to go start a fire?”

“With you, anytime.”

Clark picked up Lana and with one arm underneath her back and one underneath her knees, he carried her into the house and upstairs.

“You are really starting to like this, aren’t you Clark?” Lana asked as he carried her up the stairs.

Clark looked down at Lana and grinned.

“I will take that as a yes.”

“You should take it as a hell yes, Ms. Lang.”

“I will.”

Clark opened the door and walked to the bed. He gently laid Lana on the bed and laid on top of her.

“I love you Lana.”

“I love you too, Clark.”

I have some ideas for the next chapters, I don't know if they are good. I will try and post a couple more chapters up today if possible. Thanks for all the feedback and concerning my other two stories, I kind of ran out of ideas for them but I will try and get a chapter up for each of them today.

Chapter 13:

The sun had started to come up as Lana Lang opened her eyes. She looked to her left to see Clark sleeping with his head turned her way. She wasn’t tried and she wasn’t sleepy but she felt like staying in bed. Lana liked when her and Clark would just stay in bed. She thought that it was nice when she cuddled with Clark. He always put his arm around her waist and kissed her neck every other minute. She watched him sleep and thoughts drifted into her mind. She knew everything and she was happy. Thoughts of living with Clark in the yellow house on the farm that he grew up on was comforting knowing that she would always have a place to live on. Thoughts of them getting married, if they did, came into her mind. Thoughts of them one day having children, if Clark was able to, came into her mind. She loved Clark and every thought that had both of them in it. Clark started to open his eyes. He looked at her still trying to get the sleepiness away from him and smiled.

“Good morning.” Clark said getting closer to Lana.

“Good morning.” Lana said.

“Do you want me to make breakfast?”

“If you want.”

Lana starred at the ceiling as Clark looked at her.

“Is there something wrong?” Clark asked.

“No, everything is perfect.”

“Good.”

“There is one thing that I wanted to ask you.”

“What is it?”

“Children.”

“What about them?”

“Can you have children?”

“I don’t know.”

“Oh.”

“You want children don’t you?”

“In the future. I was just thinking though. That’s all.”

“Do you want to have children with me?”

“I thought that you didn’t know if you would have children.”

“I don’t know if I can but if I can, would you want to have children with me?”

“I guess. Yes, I would but we don’t have to think about that now.”

“Are you sure that you don’t want to?”

“Yes I am sure. When the time comes, we can talk about it.”

Clark heard a noise in the distance. It was a truck.

“I think the truck with all of your stuff is here.”

“How do you know?”

“I can hear it.”

“I can’t hear anything.”

Clark pointed to his ear.

“Enhanced hearing. Sorry, I forgot. It’s going to take some time to get used to that.”

“No problem. Take your time.” Clark said before kissing Lana.

“I will take care of everything. You can stay in bed if you want.”

“No that’s ok.”

Clark got out of the bed and stretched.

“You know you don’t have to get dressed.”

“What do you want me to do, walk around naked for the rest of my life?”

“Yes please.”

“I’ll do it if you do it.”

“Never mind.”

Clark sped around the room putting clothes on before Lana could even ask where he was.

“I am going to have to get used to that too.”

“Get dressed. I will be downstairs.”

Clark walked out of the bedroom, closing the door. He walked down the stairs and outside to find Lex and Crystal in the Porsche and a moving truck with about three men taking boxes out.

“Good morning Clark.”

“Lex. Crystal.” Clark said moving past them taking a box out of the truck and putting them on the front porch.

Crystal walked up to Clark on the porch and tapped his shoulder.

“I was wondering if we could talk about something.”

“What is it?”

“I just need to talk to you about us.”

“There is no us.”

“Don’t you want there to be us again?”

“No.”

“Why?”

“Because you cheated on me with Lex.”

“I won’t do it again. I promise. I mean Clark, remember all those wonderful times that we just used to sit next to each other and watch the stars from the porch. We never said anything or did anything. If that isn’t love, then I don’t know what is.”

“That’s right. You don’t know what love is.”

Clark walked away from Crystal and got another box. Crystal stood alone on the porch before Lana walked out of the house. Lana stood next to Crystal looking towards the same direction. Lana turned her head and looked at Crystal.

“Good morning, Crystal. Lovely day, isn’t it?”

She walked down the stairs of the porch and over to Clark. She gave him a kiss before taking the box that he had in his hands to take up to the house. She set the box on the porch and started walking down the stairs but she couldn’t. Crystal blocked her path.

“I am sorry, Crystal but do you mind moving aside?” Lana asked innocently.

“Actually I do mind. What do you think you are doing?”

“I am trying to get some boxes so I can put it up here. I think that is what everyone is trying to do.”

“Stop being so stupid. You know what I am talking about.”

“Actually I don’t.”

“Come on. You tell Clark that I am having an affair with Lex and then you start dating him and now you are moving in with him. You just want him because you couldn’t have him when you were in high school. I was here for him when his parents died. I loved him for six years and then you showed up and everything is gone. You killed everything Lana.”

“No, you did. I wasn’t the one that was dating Lex behind Clark’s back. I wasn’t the one that told me his secret. You were. You killed everything.”

“I want you to know something. You will never last. You will probably break up and find some other guy but just know that when Clark is broken hearted, I will be the one here to pick up the pieces.”

“Who says I will break up with Clark?”

“Come on. We were together for six years and he never proposed, and we never had children. What makes you think that he will do that for you.”

“Maybe he didn’t propose because he didn’t love you as much as he loves me. Maybe he never had children with you because he just doesn’t want your children. Did you ever take into account that you were part of the relationship? You could have had something to do with it, not him.”

“I can not believe that you just said that.”

“Believe it because I can say it again if you would like.”

“What makes you think that he will marry you? You are just some worthless teacher that moved to Smallville two weeks ago.”

“And you are a worthless waitress that has lived in Smallville all her life. You have never made a name for yourself.”

Crystal pulled back her fist, swung and hit. She hit Lana in the face. Lana fell to the floor with one loud thud. Five men turned their heads. Three movers, Clark and Lex turned their heads. The movers continued their work as Clark and Lex both run over to the women. Lana was still on the floor with her hand covering her eye as Crystal stood their looking down at her with a smirk on her face. She didn’t hear the men coming and she didn’t see the men coming. Clark ran towards Lana and helped her to her feet.

“Crystal, I am going to say this as nice as possible. Get out and don’t ever come back.” Clark said as he helped Lana inside.

“Crystal, what is wrong with you? Why did you hit Lana?” Lex asked.

Crystal walked right past him and his words down the stairs. Lex runs after her and grabs her by the arm.

“Do you want to tell me what is going on?” Lex asked.

“Can we talk about this later?”

“Fine but you are going to tell me what is going on.”

“I will, don’t worry. I will tell you everything.”

Chapter 14:

Crystal had a plan. She was going to get Clark back if it was the last thing she did. Crystal thought that she could do this several ways. First there was killing Lana, of course. There was also the less violent way. Lex had gone to a meeting, so she was at the mansion alone. She opened the door to the office and walked to the desk. She pulled out a piece of paper and a pen. Crystal wrote down exactly what she wanted to say to Clark and sealed it in an envelope addressed from Lex. She knew that Clark wouldn’t read it if he knew that it was addressed from her. She walked out of the office and found a servant.

“Excuse me but can you please deliver this to the Kent farm. Say that it is from Lex Luthor when you hand deliver it to Clark Kent today.”

“Yes ma’am.”

Crystal watched the man leave the mansion. On the other side of town, Clark was getting an ice pack for Lana’s eye.

“Lana, I can’t believe that she did that.”

“I can’t either, but I should have seen that coming.”

“What did she say to you?”

“She said that she wanted you back and that she would get you back.”

“Well, it isn’t going to be that easy. I am taken by this very beautiful and intelligent woman that I will never give up.”

“Even with a black eye I am beautiful?”

“Who said that it was you that I was taken by?”

“So you have a secret woman on the side?”

“Oh yes, she gives me anything I want.”

“Really? Just tell me what you want and I can give it to you, Clark Kent.” Lana said before giving him a kiss.

Their kiss was interrupted by a knock on the door. Clark got up and headed for the door before Lana said anything.

“If that is your secret woman, tell her I want to have a word with her.”

Clark opened the door.

“Hello, I am looking for Clark Kent.”

“You’ve found him.”

“This is for you. It is from Mr. Luthor.” The man said handing him an envelope.

“Thank you.”

Clark took the envelope before closing the door.

“Who was that?” Lana asked as Clark took a seat next to her.

“It was one of Lex’s men. Lex sent me a letter.”

“Open it.”

Clark obeyed and opened the letter. He looked at it differently than any other letter and Lana noticed this.

“What’s wrong?”

“This doesn’t look like Lex’s handwriting. It looks like Crystal’s.”

“Maybe you should just throw it away.”

“I don’t know. I have a bad feeling about this. I think I am just going to read it.”

“Can you read it aloud so I can hear it too?”

“Sure.”

“It says: Dear Clark. I know that you think this letter is from Lex but it isn’t. Please don’t stop reading and just hear me out. I still love you very much and I don’t think that I will ever stop. It hurts me to see you with Lana and it hurts me to know that I hurt you. I know I shouldn’t have done it but I did and I don’t know why. The cheating just happened and I am sorry that it did. I never meant to hurt you especially with everything that you have been going through in your life. You lost your parents to the second meteor shower and then Lana left for New York but I want you to know that I will always love you and I will always be there for you but you are making this hard for me. I need you Clark and I want you back. So, I can get you back the easy way or the hard way. The easy way is for you to just come back to me and we can live like we used to and the hard way is for me to threaten you. If you do not come back, I will tell Lex your secret. I don’t want to because I don’t want anything to happen but if it comes to that then it will. Call me when you get this letter and we can discuss which path you want to take. Love Always, Crystal Banks.”

“I can’t believe she would do that.”

“What am I going to do?”

“Maybe I should talk to her.”

“Go look in the mirror. Do you want another black eye?”

“Bad idea. Maybe I can go and talk to Lex. I can make it seem like Crystal would do or say anything to get you back. If she does tell him, then he will think that it is just some plan to get you back.”

“I don’t know if that will work. When we were in high school, Lex was always suspicious about me.”

“Then we need to do something.”

“Why don’t you give the Lex plan a try and if that doesn’t work then we will try something else?”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes. I will call Crystal and tell her that I will give her my answer tomorrow, therefore giving you some time to talk to Lex and you can call him and schedule a meeting or something.”

“I will call him right now.”

Lana walked to her cell phone and started looking for Lex’s phone number. The phone rang a couple of times before Lex picked up.

“Hello?” Lex asked.

“Hi Lex, this is Lana.”

“Hey Lana. Is there something wrong?”

“No, no. I was just wondering if we could talk.”

“Go ahead.”

“I was hoping to do this face to face instead.”

“Sure, would you like to meet me here at the mansion?”

“I’d rather not. I still have a black eye and I don’t feel like seeing Crystal anymore.”

“Right. How about the Talon?”

“Sure. Do you want to meet there right now?”

“I will be there.”

“Bye.”

“Bye.”

Lana hung up the phone and put it in her pocket.

“I am going to go and meet Lex at The Talon right now. I will be back as soon as I am done talking to him.” Lana said walking back to Clark.

“Good luck.”

“Thanks.”

Lana gave Clark a quick kiss before heading out the door. She walked over to the red truck and got it. Lana started the engine and headed for town. As she approached The Talon, she thought about what she would say. She didn’t know if it would work, but she would give it a try. Lana got out of the car and walked into the Talon. She saw Lex sitting a table in the far corner. He had a coffee cup in his hands. Taking sips every couple of seconds. Lex stood up when he saw Lana getting closer towards him.

“Hi Lex.” Lana said as she got next to him.

“Hi Lana. Have a seat.” Lex said pointing to a chair next to him.

“Thanks.” Lana said as she sat down.

“You said that you needed to talk to me.”

“Yes I do. It’s a very important as well.”

“Then please, start talking.”

“Ok. Well you see, a letter was delivered to Clark just before I called you. It was addressed from you…”

“I never sent Clark any letters.”

“We know. It was from Crystal. She said that she wanted him back and that she would get him back anyway possible.”

“I see.”

“She also said that if he didn’t come back to her and live the same way that they were living before I got here, that she will tell you Clark’s secret.”

“What secret is that?”

“That is what Clark and I are trying to figure out. He has no secrets, he never has. Crystal doesn’t have anything on him but I think that she is willing to make up anything just to get him back.”

“I am sorry, but you are telling me this because?”

“Lex, if she tells you something, I don’t want you to believe it. Whatever she might say, it might be just a lie.”

“I see.”

“I hope you don’t mind me asking but are you and Crystal still together?”

“Now yes, in the future, no.”

“Ok.”

“I am sorry for what she has been doing to you and Clark. She shouldn’t have punched you and she shouldn’t start making up lies.”

“I know. The eye will heal but the lies won’t.”

“Thank you for telling me this, Lana.”

“Your welcome.”

“I have to get going.”

“Goodbye Lex.”

“Goodbye Lana.”

Lex got up from his seat leaving his coffee cup behind. He walked out of the Talon and into his car. He didn’t turn on the engine right away and just rested his head on the steering wheel for a second. Lex loved Crystal and what he was about to do would hurt both of them. Lex turned on the engine and speeded his way towards the mansion still thinking about her. He pulled into the driveway and got out of the car heading for the mansion door. Lex quickly but quietly walked over to his office where he saw Crystal sitting by the fireplace.

“Crystal, we need to talk.” Lex said taking a seat across from her.

“What’s wrong?”

“You.”

“Excuse me?”

“There is something wrong with you.”

“There is nothing wrong with me.”

“Then explain to me why you would cheat on Clark and then punch his new girlfriend.”

“Explain to me why you would go behind your friend’s back and take his girlfriend.”

“If I remember correctly, it was you who came to me.”

“I can’t believe you just said that.” Crystal said getting up.

“I am going to my room. I think you should think about what you just said.” Crystal said heading for the door.

“I am not two years old, so I am not going to think about what I just did and as for your room. It’s not yours anymore.”

“What?”

“I am really sorry Crystal, but I just can’t live with you anymore. You still love Clark and that means that you can’t possible love me the way I love you.”

“If you love me, then why are kicking me out?”

“I am not sure, but I have to. I think it’s the right thing to do.”

“Where do you want me to go?”

“You should think about that before you do what you do.”

“Fine Lex. If I can, I will leave an address for you to send my stuff.”

“That’s fine.”

Crystal walked out of the office thinking about why Lex would do this all of a sudden. She knew that she couldn’t win anymore. Crystal gave up. She packed her things, left the address on Lex’s desk and left. She got out of the mansion and into her car. She looked in the glove compartment for a piece of paper and a pen and wrote three words. Crystal drove to the farm and put the paper on the door careful for no one to see her or hear her. Clark or Lana would later read the paper and they would probably be happy. The note read: ‘I GIVE UP!’

Chapter 15:

Lana returned shortly after the note was left on the front door. She stayed at the Talon for ten more minutes just to relax and drink her coffee. She needed to relax. She had to relax. She finished drinking her coffee and stood up. Lana looked around once more at the Talon before leaving. She took the keys to the truck out of her pocket and got inside. She started the engine before heading towards her new home. Lana decided to take the longer route. She rolled down the window and stuck her arm out feeling the cool air on her arm and hand. She loved Smallville. She still does love Smallville. The trip back to the farm wasn’t long, it was close to the main street of Smallville but at the same time it was the farthest thing from it. When she stopped the car in front of the yellow house, she saw Clark sitting on one of the steps with a piece of paper in her hands.

“I guess your talk with Lex went well.” Clark said as he walked towards Lana who was still closing the door.

“Why would you say that?”

Clark held up the piece of paper so Lana could read it.

“I give up.” Lana read.

“She gave up.”

“Who gave up?”

“Crystal gave up.”

“She gave up?”

“She gave up.”

“She gave up!”

“I think we have established that she gave up.”

Lana threw her arms around Clark’s neck and gave him a very passionate kiss.

“What was that for?” Clark asked innocently.

“She gave up!”

“Are we going to start that again?”

“No but I am just happy that my boyfriend won’t get stolen away from me.”

“No one can ever steal me away from you, Lana Lang.”

“That’s because no one will ever try, Clark Kent.”

Chapter 16: (One Month Later-August)
Summer vacation was over. The leaves were starting to change from their natural green color to shades of yellow, orange and brown. It was still very hot but with a breeze. Lana had been busy the last couple of weeks preparing for her English and photography classes the following day. Clark wasn’t as busy since he was only the football coach but he still had work to do. Tryouts for the football team were on the first day of the school. Lana was sitting on the dining room table looking at some papers while Clark was washing his hands from working on the farm all day.

“What does the football coach do?” Lana asked setting down her pen.

“He coaches football.” Clark said with a confused look.

“I mean when he isn’t coaching football. Like when the football players are in class. What do you do?”

“Oh, I get it now. Most of the time I just hang out in the football office.”

“Doing what?”

“Anything.”

“Oh.”

“Why?”

“I was just wondering. If you do get bored, then, you can come and hang out with me.”

“Won’t you be teaching?”

“You can sit in the back.”

“I don’t know. That might not be a good idea. The girls in your class might get distracted by my hotness.”

“Your hotness?”

“Yes, my hotness.”

“If they do, I will hit them with a stick.”

“No, you won’t.”

“No, I won’t.”

“I know you wouldn’t.”

“But seriously if you want to hang out in my class then you can. I can put you to work too.”

“Teacher’s assistant?”

“Sure.”

Lana got up from her seat and went over to Clark.

“Will the teacher’s assistant get special benefits?” Clark asked leaning for a kiss.

“Not tonight. I have a big day tomorrow and I am already very nervous.”

“You will be fine tomorrow. Don’t worry.”

“You promise?”

“Yes, I promise.”

“Thank you.”

“Your welcome.”

“I have to get back to work.”

“Do you need any help?”

“No, I will be fine. Thank you.”

Chapter 17:

The alarm clock went off. Clark hit the snooze button. He turned to the side to look at the window and saw Lana still fast asleep. He smiled at her beauty and kissed her bare shoulder.

“Lana, it’s time to wake up.” Clark said.

Lana moaned. It was too early.

“It’s your first day of school. You don’t want to be late.” Clark said.

Lana slowly turned her body to face Clark.

“I don’t want to go.”

“You have to. It’s your job.”

“Fine but on one condition.”

“What?”

“You have lunch with me.”

“In the cafeteria?”

“Sure.”

Lana started getting up from the bed that her and Clark share. She went into the bathroom and as she was about to close the door, Clark stopped her.

“Clark, you are not coming in here.”

“Why not?”

“Because I have to go to work and I can not have any distractions.”

“Fine. I will be making breakfast.”

“Thank you.”

Lana walked into the bathroom and stripped off her pajamas. She turned on the hot water and the cold water to get the perfect temperature. Lana got inside and started showering while Clark prepared breakfast downstairs. Clark stopped when he heard the phone ring. He walked over and answered it.

“Hello?” Clark asked.

“Hey, it’s me.” The other voice said.

“I told you not to call here.”

“I am sorry but I just wanted to make sure that we were still going to meet today.”

“Yes we will. I will see you then. Bye.”

“Bye.”

Clark hung up the phone grateful that Lana didn’t answer it. He went back to making breakfast. Lana finished up in the bathroom and headed downstairs wearing jeans and a blue dress shirt.

“I am all ready.” Lana said as she finished walking down the stairs.

“Good. You look wonderful.”

“Thank you.”

“What should I call you now?”

“What do you mean?”

“You are a teacher, so when I see you in the hallway should I just Lana or Ms. Lang?”

“You are kidding right?”

“Yes I am.”

“Good plus I make my students call me Lana.”

“But you are a teacher. Aren’t teachers supposed to be called by their last name?”

“Yes but I don’t like it. I don’t call my students by their last name. I don’t think that they should call me by mine.”

“That is really nice. I can see that you are a good teacher.”

“Thank you.”

“You are welcome.”

“What should I call you, Coach Kent? Wow, that sounds really funny when I say it out loud.”

“Thanks a lot.”

“Sorry.”

“Most of the time, the players just call me coach.”

“Ok, coach.”

“You don’t have to call me that.”

“I know but I like it.”

“Have it your way.”

Lana and Clark sat down to have their breakfast. They ate quickly and quietly, glancing at each other momentarily while smiling when they could. Once they finished, Clark cleared the dishes while Lana got the materials she would need for her classes. Clark carried the box with her materials to the truck before both of them got inside the red truck. Clark drove as Lana sat in the passenger’s seat with the box in her lap. They arrived at the school shortly after the yellow school bus filled with children. Clark parked the car in his spot and helped Lana out of the car.

“I should get going. I have a meeting with the principal and I still have to find my class.” Lana said.

“I will see you later then.”

“What do you want to meet?”

“Don’t worry, I will find you.”

“So confident, are we?”

“Yes, very. I know everything that goes on in this school.”

“That’s good. I really have to go now.”

“Good luck and tell me all about it at lunch.”

“I will. I promise.”

Lana leaned in and gave him a kiss.

“Bye.” Clark said as Lana walked away.

Lana walked into the main hallway. It was the same hallway that she walked into for four years. She smiled at the thought that it was still the same. Lana continued walking towards the principal’s office. She knocked on the door and waited until a man opened the door. The man opened the door.

“Ms. Lang?” The man asked.

“Yes.”

“Please come in.”

Lana walked into the office as the principal closed the door.

“Please have a seat.”

“Thank you.” Lana said as she sat down on a chair in front of the large wooden desk.

“I am Mr. Garcia, but you can call me Shawn.”

“It’s nice to finally meet you.”

“It’s nice to finally meet you as well.”

“Thank you for this teaching offer. I went to Smallville High and I am glad that I got a chance to come back.”

“Your welcome. Here is a folder with everything that you will need to know. It has your classroom number, the list of all of your students and keys to your classroom and the photography room.”

“Thank you.”

“No, thank you. I appreciate you coming out here from New York. You should get going, the bell is going to ring soon.”

“Ok.”

Lana got out of her chair, took her folder and box and went outside to find her classroom. She walked down a hallway, turned left and then stopped at the end of the hallway. She looked at the closed door and then started to open it. Lana walked it and closed the door behind her. She set the box on the wooden desk in front of the classroom and sat down on top of the desk. The room had thirty desks, six rows of five. There was a wall of windows on the left side of the room followed by cabinets on the back wall. Behind her desk was a white board. She hopped off of the desk and started to take stuff out of her box. Lana started placing things where she thought they belonged and before she knew it, the bell had rung and students were taking their seats. The bell rang once more signaling the start of first period. Her first class was a senior English class. Everyone was seated as Lana took her seat back on top of her desk.

“Welcome everyone. My name is Lana Lang. You can call me Lana, Ms. Lang or even ‘Hey you with the face.’ I am twenty-three years old and have been teaching for about four years now. I teach English and photography and I love every moment of it. I know that teachers don’t make a lot of money but I don’t really care. I have a couple rules in this class. Number one is when I give you work you should do it. You have two days to do regular work and five days to do projects unless I say otherwise. Number two is that you have to stay in this class from the first bell to the last. Otherwise you can probably do whatever you want. You can sit on the floor, on top of your desk or if you are Spiderman, then feel free to swing from wall to wall. You can eat and drink in this class. Non-alcoholic beverages only please. My last rule is that when I am talking or when someone else is talking, you should be paying attention. I think that is all I have to say. Any questions about this class or me?”

A couple of hands went up and Lana started to choose one student by one student.

“What’s your question?” Lana asked.

“Well, I was wondering, since you are twenty-three, do you date?” A boy asked.

“As a matter of fact, I do.”

“Who?” The boy asked again.

“I think you will be able to figure that out soon. I will leave you guessing. Next question.”

The questions continued as the class continued. There were questions about almost anything. There were five more minutes of class left when Lana asked the class to quiet down.

“Class, I know that this is your first day and I hate to do this but you have homework…”

The class moaned.

“Don’t worry, it is really easy. All you have to do is write a couple of suggestions that you have for this class. If you want me to have the music blasting in the classroom, write it down. If you want art on the class, write it down. For the guys, if you want cheerleaders dancing around then write that down. I will try and track down Brad Pitt for the girls but I don’t know if I can. Turn it in tomorrow if you can or the next day.”

The bell rang and students waited to be excused.

“You can leave.” Lana said.

The students started walking out as more started walking in. There were three more classes, before lunch that went the same way as the first one did. Lana talked to the class, they asked questions and then they left. Before lunch was all English classes, one senior, one junior, one sophomore and one freshman class. After lunch were photography classes. As the lunch bell rang, Lana sat down on the chair behind her desk and waited for Clark. In between classes, Lana would look around her classroom and write down things that she thought she needed to buy to make the classroom better. A knock came to her door. She stood up and told whomever it was to come in. Clark walked through the door.

“I guess you found me.” Lana said.

“I guess I did. How is it going?”

“Good. It’s only the first day.”

“I know.”

Clark walked up to Lana and gave Lana a hug and a quick kiss.

“Are you ready to go to lunch?” Clark asked.

“Yes I am but I want to go and check the photography room first.”

“Let’s go then.”

Lana grabbed the keys to both rooms and they both went out the door. They didn’t walk hand in hand, not wanting to attract attention from the students that were still in the hallways. When they got to the door to the photography room, Lana unlocked it and opened the door. The room was almost the same as the other classroom except it had a door leading to the black room where the photographs would be developed. Lana lead Clark out of the room and they started walking to the cafeteria.

“I have a surprise for you.” Clark said.

“What?” Lana asked as they entered the cafeteria.

“Do you remember that table that Chloe, Pete, you and me used to sit at?”

“Yes I do.”

“Look at it.”

Lana looked in the direction of the table and saw a couple kids sitting at it. When she looked at the far end of the table, she saw two adults sitting there. She walked up to the table, with Clark not far behind and stood next to the table.

“I can’t believe it.”

The two adults stood up and walked over to Lana. They hugged each other before all four of them sat down.

“Chloe? Pete? What are you guys doing here?” Lana asked.

“I work here. I am the journalism teacher.” Chloe said.

“I, well, I don’t work here but I would never miss an opportunity to see one of my old friends.” Pete said.

“I can’t believe it.” Lana repeated.

“I told you I had a surprise for you.” Clark said.

“Oh wow. Thanks Clark.” Lana said giving him a hug.

“It’s good to have you back Lana.” Chloe said.

“It’s good to be back. Pete I thought that you lived in Whetchatah?” Lana asked.

“I did but I decided to move back to Smallville when I went back to college.” Pete answered.

“That is so cool. What do you do now?” Lana asked.

“I am a doctor at Smallville Medical Center.” Pete answered.

“A doctor? Wow.” Lana said.

“Yup, wow.” Pete repeated.

Chloe’s cell phone rang. She answered it but put it on speakerphone.

“Hello?”

“Mom, can I have the chocolate cake?” She asked Chloe.

Lana looked at Clark with a confused look. Chloe said yes and hung up the phone.

“Chloe Sullivan, you have a daughter?” Lana asked.

“And a son. My daughter’s name is Madison and my son’s name is Dean. They are both at Smallville Elementary. There was a birthday party for one of the kids and I told her to call me before she had any cake. By the way my name isn’t Chloe Sullivan anymore.” Chloe answered.

“What?” Lana asked confused.

“The first name is the same but the last name isn’t. I got married.” Chloe said showing the wedding band to Lana.

“Who is the lucky man?”

Chloe and Clark’s head turned to Pete.

“What can I say? I fell in love with her.” Pete said.

“You guys got married and had two kids?” Lana asked.

“Yes we did! The name is now Chloe Sullivan Ross.” Chloe said.

Lana was once again in a state of shock.

“Is there anything else that you need to tell me?” Lana asked.

“I don’t think so. Pete?” Chloe asked.

“Nothing here. Clark?” Pete asked.

“I have nothing.” Clark answered.

“Thank you because I don’t think that I can take anymore surprises today.” Lana said.

Chapter 18: (Trail of Roses)

Six months after first starting at Smallville High School, Lana walked down one of the numerous hallways in the middle of the afternoon, after everyone had left. She had received a note from Clark telling her to meet her in his office. Lana found this strange but still decided to go. When she reached the door of his office, Lana found a note telling her to follow the trail of rose petals. When she looked down, she saw roses. Following them, carefully, Lana found that she was being lead to the pool. When she reached the side of the big pool, she saw rose petals floating on the top of the water. Smiling, she turned around when she heard the voice of Clark.

“It’s going to take me forever to get each one of those out.” Clark said.

“Then explain to me why you did it.”

“Rose are your favorite, aren’t they?”

“Yes but how did you know that. I don’t remember telling you.”

“I bribed one of my football players in your class to ask.”

“Clever but that still doesn’t answer my question about why you did it.”

“I thought we could take a swim. Roses in water are so much more romantic than just regular water.”

“Nice but I don’t have my bathing suit and I don’t think that I want to go skinny dipping in the high school pool.”

Clark reached down and picked up a bag.

“That’s why I put your bathing suit in this bag.”

“You have just thought of everything, haven’t you?”

“Yes I have. Now go and get changed.

Lana grabbed the bag and went into one of the locker rooms to change. Returning, Lana saw that Clark was already inside the pool.

“You didn’t wait for me.” Lana said.

“You were taking forever.” Clark said smiling.

Lana jumped inside the pool and swam up to Clark.

“Do you want to know what I always wanted to do in high school?” Clark asked.

“What?”

“See you in a swim suit.” Clark said wrapping his arms around Lana’s waist.

“Really? Well, did I live up to your fantasy?”

“Yes you did.”

Clark pulled Lana into a passionate kiss.

“Do you know what I want to do now?” Clark asked.

“What?” Lana asked.

“Propose.”

Chapter 19: (Proposal)

“What?” Lana asked.

“I want to propose to you.”

“What?” Lana repeated.

“How many times do you want me to tell you?” Clark asked.

“What?”

“I will take that as what.”

Clark let go of Lana and rushed over to the side of the pool. He pulled a small ring box out of the bag he brought with him and swam back to Lana making sure that the box didn’t get wet.

“Lana, I have thought about this a lot. Proposing is supposed to be one of the most romantic things but I didn’t want to do it the traditional way. I don’t know how many ways I have thought about asking you but I thought just being spontaneous. I had planned to go swimming and I thought that if I did want to surprise you, I would do it now. So, Lana Elizabeth Lana, would you marry me?” Clark asked opening up the small box showing the diamond ring.

Lana looked at the ring and then back at Clark who was still waiting for an answer. When two minutes had passed, Clark thought that her answer would be no. He closed the box and started swimming towards the edge of the pool.

“Do you want to hear my answer?” Lana asked.

Clark turned around.

“I thought because you weren’t answering, you were going to say no.”

“I am just in shock. I wasn’t expecting you to propose.”

“Why not?”

“I don’t know. It was just unexpected. Ask me again and I will answer you.”

“Fine.”

Clark swam back to Lana and opened the ring box. Taking Lana’s left hand, Clark asked again.

“Lana Elizabeth Lang, will you marry me?” Clark asked.

“Yes, I will.” Lana answered.

“Really?” Clark asked.

“Really. I would love to marry you.”

Clark smiled and took the ring out of the box. He threw the box onto the side of the pool and placed the ring on Lana’s left hand ring finger. Lana kissed Clark as tears started forming in her eyes. Of course, the tears could hardly be seen since there was water on her face as well.

“I love you Lana.” Clark said.

“I love you too Clark.” Lana replied.
