I just thought i should make a Spaceballs thread because there is none.....they should make a sequel to spaceballs. hmm what should it be called? that movie was so hilarious when i first saw it. man maybe they should stick with the title they said, Spaceballs 2: the quest for more money. lol maybe in that one they can make parodies of all 3 prequels and divide them into 2 hours. so they make 40 minute parodies for each episode. i dont know i mean because spaceballs came out 18 years ago and it was a great movie..but i dont know why it hasnt had any sequels...

That would be great! But I don't think they ever will :( I think that if they were going to make a squel they would have made it between Ep. I and II not now unless they wanted to do all three episodes in one movie.

Is Mel Brooks (Is that his name?) still alvie?

No. It would dilute the original. Spaceballs was a brilliant stand alone movie and a sequel or even a prequel, whilst it sounds a great idea, just would mean that the original wasn't quite so special.

By all means parody the SW prequels, but not as a Spaceballs movie.

What next - a sequel to "Robin Hood: Men in Tights"? ;)

Yes, he's still alive Alex.

I suppose. But CL never does anything major anymore but MB would do something major probably IMO.

TMLS

Nothing major???????????

Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Willy Wonka... how more major do you want?

TMLS' BROTHER

I mean roles as in he's always supporting cast nowadays.

He's in Willy Wonka???

TMLS
07-13-2005, 09:12 AM
Eh? Support? He's the main baddie LOTR really...

He plays Wonka's father IIRC. Haven't I leant you Empire/Total Fim yet? It's in one of them.

TMLS' BROTHER

Yeah. Didn't notice that part. What does he do in LOTR stands around for like 10 mins talking moves his hand and makes Gandlaf go flying. Thats heavy acting.

Anyway isn't MB's characters dead in the movies?

That would be great but how many are still alive?

Some movies do far better standing on their own than they would with sequels. "Spaceballs" is, in my opinion, one of those movies.

Yay apple! Vote no then... please. Don't let me be the only one.

I just want one as well but it would be funny to see Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money.

I don´t know where I heard this, but supposedly an idea for a sequel was Spaceballs 3: The Search for Spaceballs 2. The title alone is hilarious, but still I feel not so sure whether it should be done or not. I think MB (Mel Brooks, just to make it clear) is awesome and would love to see him do something great no matter what. Seems like he´s going to take Young Frankenstein to Broadway, which I´d love to happen.

Yes, I heard about that title as well. It cracks me up every time.

Spaceballs is a classic.A sequel(perquel) probably wouldnt be nearly as good-most arent-but ya never know.So many great lines-havent seen it awhile but it went something like this;

Vespa-"I am Princess Vespa of the Druish empire"
Lonestar-"Just what we need-a Druish Princess"

Moog-"Im half man half dog-Im my own best friend"

"Comb the desert"

"Jammed"

Lonestar-"the Force"
Yogurt'"No the Scwartz"

"Comb the desert" and "Jammed" don't work aswell unless you watch the scenes.

In Blazing saddles, there is a scene that really pushed the envelope as far as good taste.
