Chapter 21:

*Clark and Lana's house.*

"Let me wrap that up." Lana said looking at Clark's bleeding chest. She grabs bandages from their cabinet and starts to wrap it around Clark's wound.

"Ahhhh." Clark says in pain.

"Alright, i'm done." Lana tells him, as she finished wrapping the bandage. "Now, you want to tell me what happen?" Lana asked him.

"It's Zod." Clark told her.

"Zod? You mean the man who you think destroyed Krypton?" Lana asked.

"Yep, that would be him. General Zod." Clark nodded.

"How did he get here and from where?" Lana questioned him.

"Ummm..." Clark paused looking into Lana's eyes as she looked back concerned by what his answer might be. "He came from the Phatom Zone, he was freed by the healing stone. When i used it on you." Clark told her.

"This is all my fault." Lana turn and walked to the counter, placing her elbows down, her face in her hands. Clark slowly got up in pain and walked toward, turning her around.

"Listen to me." He said lifting her chin, so her eyes were locked on his. "Don't you ever believe that, I used the stone, this my fault and my fault alone." Clark said staring into her eyes. There was a long pause after that, both of them taking in the seriousness of the situation and both of them taking the blame.

"What are we going to do?" Lana finally mustered up the courage to ask.

"I don't know, but I need to talk to Jor-el. He's the only one who will know." Clark said.

"Okay, can you even fly though?" She asked him

"Yeah, i'm still hurt, but i think i have enough strength to fly." Clark said to her.

"Alright, be careful." Lana told him. Clark nodded and flash a smiled to her.

"I love you." He said to her, trying to take some pressure off the situation.

"I love you too." She told him, placing her hand on his cheek. Then she kissed him, ever so sweetly on the lips and then the kiss broke, as both of them kept their eyes closed, relishing this kiss, like it was their last.

*Scene shifts to Zod in the artic.*

Zod is seen in the artic, looking around like he's trying to find something. He then catches his eye on something and superspeeds toward it. 'This is it.' He says to himself as he walks into the Fortress of Solitude.

"Kal-el?" Jor-el says as his voice echo's through the Fortress.

"No Jor-el, this is your murderer." Zod says with an evil smile.

"Zod!" Jor-el says with utter disgust.

"Now you got it. As you can see, i've found the place where you've been developing that son of yours. I must say, this is impressive." Zod says looking around.

"What do you want?" Jor-el asked him.

"You know Jor-el, i want what i've always wanted.......To be the supreme ruler of Earth." Zod said arrogantly.

"Kal-el will never allow that to happen and neither will I." Jor-el warned him.

"I figured that and that brings me to why i'm here now. Since you are a threat and obviously your son is, then the only reasonable thing to do would be to separate you two. To prevent you from communicating and helping each other." Zod tells him.

"You could never do that, I am every where and i live through my son." Jor-el told him.

"That may be true, but why not destroy this place anyways? I'll just take my chances with this." Zod said, then used his heat vision to melt the Fortress and his super strength to destroy everything else. When he was done, he turned back to where the voice came from. "Goodbye Jor-el." Zod said with a grin, then superspeeded away.

Moments later, Clark arrives to see the destruction left behind. He looks around in awe as he see's his home away from home, destroyed. "JOR-EL!" Clark screams, but there is no answer. "LARA!" He yells, but there's no answer.

Chapter 22:

"JOR-EL? LARA?" Clark screamed again and again. There was no sound, just the ashes left behind by Zod. 'How could this happen Clark said to himself.' He walked around, searching for the answers that he needed, but he knew they weren't there. There was no Jor-el or Lara to help him, he was on his own. The biggest battle of his life as he turned away from the Fortress, taking in one last look before leaving.

*Scene shifts to the caves in Smallville.*

Zod is in the caves, looking around with an evil grin painted across his face. Then he stops when he see's a symbol, a symbol that has never been seen before, not even by Clark. It look liked a black hole and Zod smiled at it. He placed his hand on it and the walls began to shake as a secret chamber opened. Two distinct figures walked out. "Welcome Nam-ek and Aethyr." Zod said as he smiled.

*Scene shifts back to Clark and Lana's house.*

Lana has been awaiting Clark for a while now. Clark flew slower than usually after witnessing the destruction of the Fortress. He knew he had to do something, but there was no Jor-el to guide him and Zod was too strong. He caught sight of Lana for a far and his expression turned very sad. He thought to himself, 'How can I protect her? I can't just give up, I will never let her down, no matter what. This will be a war and i will sacrifice anything to win.' He became more determined as he finally made his way down from the sky and on to his porch.

"Clark!" Lana said rushing to him and hugging him. "How did it go?" Lana asked.

"Not good, we're our own." Clark told her as she looked back at him in shock.

"What?" She said.

"Zod destroyed the Fortress, there is nothing left." Clark told her as she put her hand over her mouth with shock.

"How could this happen?" She asked almost whispering.

"I don't know, but I know what i have to do?" Clark told her.

"No Clark, you remember what happen last time. He almost killed you, i won't let you go." Lana said placing her hands on his shoulders.

"I have to go, I'm the only one who can stop them." Clark said staring deeply into her eyes with emtion.

"Then i'm coming with you." Lana told him.

"No, stay here, you'll be safe." Clark said.

"I can't let you go alone, i'm coming." Lana said with more force this time.

"No, please, don't do this to me. Don't make things harder me than it already is." Clark said, pleading with her.

"Clark." She shows him her wedding ring. "We're in this together, until death do us part. I'm not backing out now." Lana told him.

"We might not make it out alive. You know that right?" Clark asked her.

"I do." She said to him, then they heard the t.v. from inside the house. The t.v. said that the man who caused the destruction in downton Metropolis earlier in the day was back.

"Alright, i'm going." Clark told her.

"I'll be on my way." Lana said to him.

"Ok." Clark said as they shared a deep stare and slowly leaned in for a kiss. It was a quick passionate kiss that ended in a long stare.

"If we don't make it, i want you know...." Clark paused to put his hand on her cheek. "That I love you." He said as tear dropped down from his eye.

"I love you too." Lana said as her eyes watered and Clark rose up. He gave her last look before flying away.

*Scene shifts to downtown Metropolis.*

Zod, Aethyr and Nam-Ek are being shoot at, but it's having no affect. "These morals and their silly tools." Zod says as he tosses a car at the police, sending them all back. Then Nam-Ek used his super breath to blow away the rest of the police.

"Enough of playing with these fools, prepare for Kal-el to come." Zod said as his eyes were searching the sky.

Chapter 23:

Lana stood watching Clark fly away, her stomach tied in nots. She didn't want him to have to do this, she didn't want to do this, but she knew he had to and she had to. She learned from Clark a long time ago, that you had to do the right thing, no matter what the cost. She always loved that part of Clark, even though it scared her. Because eventually, she knew this day would come. The day when she knew he might not come home, but at least this time, she would be right by his side. There is no other place she would rather be. She finally gathered herself and grabbed the keys to her SUV and a little surprise for Zod, before leaving.

Clark flew above Metropolis, looking over the people and the buildings. He was preparing for the biggest fight of his life. This time he had no Jor-el or his dad to guide him. He was afraid, but at the same time more courageous than ever. It was his job to protect the world and more importantly the most important person to him in the world. He would never give up with Lana by his side, he would never let anything happen to her as long as there was a single breath in his body. Clark wasn't counting on suriving, even with all he had been through, he knew this time was going to be different. He was fully prepared to sacrifice his life to stop Zod and save the planet.

"Kal-el!" Zod said, seeing Clark finally appear out of the sky and land right in front of Zod.

"It ends now." Superman tells Zod.

"Oh no, this is just the beginning Kal-el. We're going to turn the world into our own personally utopia and i'll give you one more chance to join us." Zod told Superman.

"Never." Superman snaps at Zod.

"Then so be it." Zod tells him, then Nam-ek knocks Superman into a wall with his superspeed. "You can't defeat all three of us Kal-el." Zod tells him as Aethyr throws a car at Superman, but he catches it and hits Nam-ek with it, sending him flying.

"I will fight to the end." Superman tells them as Aethyr superspeeds to him, but he punches her into a pole.

"I can see your motivated Kal-el, excellent. Should make for a much more interesting fight this time." Zod superspeeds toward Superman, avoiding Superman's punch and tossing him into the air, but Superma catches himself.

"Is that the best you can do..General? Superman says with a sarcastic tone as Zod smiles at him and flys at him. Superman avoids the punch, Nam-ek nails him from behind as does Aethyr, sending Superman through a building window. Zod grabs him and pulls him out of the window, holding him up by the throat. He flys to the ground, sending Superman's face into the pavement. Aethyr and Nam-ek hold Superman up as Zod is unrapping something from his hand, just like last time when Lana's SUV pulls up.

"Hey Zod." Lana yells as he turns to her.

"Foolish humans and their emtions." Zod says staring at Lana.

"Come on Zod, don't tell me your afraid of a human." Lana says as then Zod superspeeds to Lana, but she takes out the green k at the same time. Zod begins to weaken.

"Who's foolish now?" Lana says with a smile. "Now let him go or I'll kill Zod." Lana says looking at Aethyr and Nam-ek as they slowly release Superman. However, at the same moment, Nam-ek uses his heat vision, burning Lana's arm and sending the green K flying.

"Lana!" Superman yells and grabs both Aethyr as well as Nam-ek, then throws them into a wall. Zod then superspeeds at Lana and grabs her by the throat, turning to Superman.

"Stop right there Kal-el." Zod tells them as he takes off a bracelet on his wrist throws it to the ground opening up a portel. "Alright Kal-el, enough of these games. If you want to save the life of your preicious human, you walk into that to portel, leading to the Phatom Zone or she will die." Zod told Superman.

"Don't do it Clark, Aww." She tells Clark, before Zod tightens his grip.

"Let her go, this is between us. Not her." Superman tries to reason with him.

"She became a part of this when she came her. Now start walking." Zod tells Superman as Lana struggles in pain.

"No Clark, I knew what I was sacrificing by coming here." Lana pleads with him as Superman stares at her, pain his eyes and begins walking toward the portel.

"CLARK!" She yells as Zod attempts to cover her mouth.

"Shut up." He yells as Superman continues to walk toward it.

Chapter 24:

Superman slowly walked toward the portel, not knowing what to do. His mind told him one thing and his heart told him another. He knew that he had to save world, he was their only chance. His head was screaming that to him, 'don't go through, I know you love her, but it's too stupid to think he won't kill her anyways and many other people with you out of the way.' Clark knew that was right, but he couldn't help, but listen to his heart. The same heart that fell for Lana ever since he was five, told him that life wouldn't be worth living, if she wasn't there. That saving the world would mean nothing, if you let the one you loved most in the world die.

"Please Clark, don't do it. He can kill me, but my love for you would never die." Lana yelled at him, pleadling with him. He turned to her, tears in her eyes. He stared at her, trying to make a choice, even though he already knew that he had made up his mind.

"He will walk through, that's his weakness. He's as foolish as the rest of you." Zod says to Lana and then he turns to Kal-el. "If you love her, Kal-el, you walk through the portel and save her life." Zod tells him as Clark looks at him with pure hatred. Then takes one last look at Lana and steps toward the portel. Suddenly, a man superspeeds out of no where and knocks Zod into a building.

"Kal-el, my son, get away from the portel." The man tells Clark and Clark turns to him.

"Father?" Clark asked in shock.

"Yes, my son." Jor-el tells him.

"But how?" Clark asked.

"I think explanations are best left for later." Jor-el tells him as Zod, Nam-ek and Aethry arise to their feet. Clark superspeeds toward Lana, lifting her up.

"You were going to go in the portel, weren't you?" Lana asked him.

"The world wouldn't be worth saving, if you weren't in it." He smiles at her and then superspeeds to Jor-el.

"You're dead Jor-el, I killed you, twice!" Zod yelled at Jor-el.

"I told you, I am every where. You can never be rid of me."

"I will banish both you and your son to the phatom zone. I will rule this planet." Zod tells them.

"Never." Clark tells him and superspeeds toward him, sending them both flying into a wall. Aethyr and Nam-ek, use heat vision on Jor-el, but Jor-el uses it back, sending all three flying.

"We must get them into the portel Kal-el. It's the only way." Jor-el tells Clark, as he gets up. Jor-el, superspeeds toward Nam-ek and throws toward the portel, then Clark takes a pole, hitting into the portel. Aethyr then came superspeeding toward Clark, but Jor-el intercepted her and knocked her into the phantom zone. Zod, finally arose to his feet.

"You will not get rid of me that easily." He uses his superbreath to send Jor-el backward as Clark charges him and they lock into a grapple. Zod then hits Clark with a punch, sending into the ground. Then Zod superspeeds toward Jor-el, body slams into the ground and brings him toward the portel.

"This time, you will not survive." Zod tells him as Jor-el lays helpless in his arms. He begins to throw him when Clark superspeeds at Zod and thrusts him into the portel. However, Clark's momentum dragged him in as well.

"CLARK!" Lana yelled as ran toward him. He was not completely in the portel, his hands were stretched out, hanging on. Lana grabbed his hands and tried to pull him foward, but it was useless.

"Just know that, I will always love you. No matter where I am." Clark told her as she still tried as hard as she could to drag him out. She couldn't do it and he was sucked in the portel.

"NO." Lana yelled as she almost jumped in the portel, but Jor-el stopped her.

"He is gone." Jor-el said.

"NO, I don't believe that. Do something!" Lana snapped at him, tears streaming down her eyes.

"Nothing can be done, just know that he saved the planet and he did it for you." Jor-el said in soft and emtional voice.

"He's gone..." She said in a whisper as she fell to her knews, face in hands as Jor-el looked on.

10 years later

*The Daily Planet.*

Lois Lane is sitting at her desk, talking on the phone. "So, how's Bruce?" She asked.

"He's fine, always running around, saving the day. He stills finds time for me though." Chloe told her.

"Have you heard from Lana?" Lois asked.

"Um......No, not in a couple years." Chloe said sadly.

"I've been worried about her, every since she left. She was just a wreck, i didn't think she could on." Lois replied sadly.

"It's not easy to lose the one person you care about most in the world. Then spending years trying to hold on, praying and hoping that one day he would come back. She just couldn't stay here anymore, it was too hard and it would have sucked the life out of her. I know it would have done the same to me had Bruce not been here. I loved Clark like my brother, I still can't believe he's gone." Chloe said trying not to cry.

"It's just so sad, that two people who deserve to be together most in the world, can't." Lois said.

"Clark and Lana survived everything. After all life put them through, they fought back and through it all, stayed together. You're right, if any couple deserved to be together, it was them. But.....sometimes life isn't fair." Chloe told her.

"Not when you have Lex Luthur as president." Lois said sarcastically.

"And no one to stop him." Chloe said sadly, followed by a long silence.

"Chloe, do you think he'll ever come back? Lois asked.

"For her, I wouldn't doubt it." Chloe told her sincerely.

*Paris, France.*

Lana is sitting on stool, painting a picture of a man flying around in a cape. Much like Superman did. Lana moved to Paris a year ago, just to get away, she never considered it her home. To her, there was no home, not without Clark. She spent years crying herself to sleep, praying and hoping for him to come back. He never did, she would beg Jor-el and Lara day after day to free him. Every day they would tell her the same, it was not possible. They wanted to free him as much as she did, but it couldn't be done. Lana would yell and scream at them, then always end up crying, because she knew that was the truth.

"Same old, same old from you." Jennifer, a new friend of Lana's that she meet in Paris a couple days after she got here. They both were painters and become close friends. Although, Lana could never tell her way she was also so depressed.

"Yep." Lana said showing a small smile.

"Why do you always paint the same picture Lana? I know it has to do with something that happen to you before you got here. Can you tell me what it is?" Jennifer asked.

"You ask the same question every day Jen and i always tell you the same thing." Lana said, before Jen interupted.

"I don't want to talk about it." Jen said mimicking Lana's voice.

"That's right." Lana told her.

"It's just.....I'm your friend, actually i consider you my best friend. I want to know, so i can know what to say to make you feel better. I want to be there for you." Jen said sympathetically.

"I know you do, but there is nothing you could say or do to tale away that pain. There is nothing no one could say or do to take it away." Lana told her bluntly.

"I'm sorry." She said apologically.

"So am I." Lana said, before she turned back to her painting.

*Some where in the world.*

There's a huge explosion of light and a naked man appears. "Lana!'

Chapter 26:

Clark looked around, smiled and then flew away. He flew as fast as he ever had, all he was thinking about was seeing Lana and taking her into his arms again. Finally, he had made it to their house and although undressed, he knew Lana would just be happy to see him. Clark landed on the porch, the house was just as he remembered it. He decided to knock on the door. He knocked and a teenage girl answered the door. "Hel..." she trailed off after seeing Clark, all of Clark.

"Ah....Hi, is Lana home?" He asked as the girl stood there with her mouth wide open. Then a lady came to the door.

"What are you looking at young lady." She asked as the girl pointed to Clark.

"Excuse me ma'am, can you tell me where the owner of the house is?" Clark asked.

"Right here and may I ask what you're doing naked right on my front porch?" The lady asked as Clark looked at her shocked.

"What do you mean you're the owner?" Clark asked.

"I bought this house about a year ago. Now leave, before I call the police." The lady told Clark, as he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Please, tell me what happen to the lady who owned this place. Her name was Lana Lang." Clark said becoming emtional.

"Lana Lang? Oh, she did sell me this house, such a nice girl. Alhough, I felt bad for her, she seemed so sad and lonely. I couldn't understand why such a beautiful girl could be so lonely." The lady told Clark.

"Do you know where she went?" Clark asked.

"No, I'm sorry, I don't." The lady said as Clark nodded and walked away. He was so confused, where could she be, he thought to himself. He also knew he needed some clothes and there was only one place he could go.

*The Kent's house.*

It had been so long since Clark came home. He flew over it remembering all the times he had there with his family, friends and Lana. Clark landed on the front porch, hoping this time he wouldn't see a stranger. "Clark!" Martha yelled, jumping into his arms.

"Mom!" Clark said hugging her tightly as Jonathon came downstairs.

"Clark!" Jonathon said pulling him into his own hug. "How did you get back?" Jonathon asked.

"It's a long story." Clark told them.

"Well, come in, get some clothes and I'll make something to eat." Martha told him.

"Thanks mom, but I really need to ask you guys something." Clark said.

"What is it son?" Jonathon asked.

"Where's Lana?" Clark asked, as Jonathon and Martha exchanged looks. "I know that look, where is she?" Clark asked again, almost pleading with them to tell him.

"Clark, we don't know." Martha told him as Clark looked away sad.

"Lana was tore a part by what happen Clark. She took it harder than all of us. She blamed herself, would spend nights crying herself to sleep. We tried to help her, so did Chloe and Lois, but it was no use. We even got her to stay here for a couple of days, but all it did was remind her of you. Lana wouldn't go to work anymore, barely even ate and wouldn't go any where at all. I'm sorry Clark, we tried our best." Jonathon told him as Clark nodded helplessly.

"I should have been there." Clark said.

"Clark you sacrificed yourself to her and the rest of the world. You can't blame yourself for doing the right thing, no one can. What happened is no ones fault, sometimes bad things happen and you can't stop them." Joanthon told him.

"That doesn't take away the pain she suffered, does it?" Clark said dejectedly as he began to walk upstairs.

"Clark, it was her belief that you were coming back that kept her going." Martha told him as Clark stopped as if taking in what she said, then continued up.

*Later that night.*

Clark walks downstairs, this time in clothing and he walks toward the door. "Going some where?" Jonathon asked.

"I can't stay here dad." Clark told him.

"I know that son, but don't you think you need at least one night of rest?" Jonathon asked.

"I won't get any rest until I know she's safe and until I'm with her." Clark told him.

"How are you going to find her?" Jonathon asked.

"I'll superspeed around the world, over and over again until I find her." Clark said.

"Slow down Clark, i'm sure where ever she is, she's fine." Jonathon told him as Clark walked up to Jonathon.

"Dad, I've been away from the woman I love for ten years. It was hell in the phatom zone and the only reason I survived was knowing I could see her again. You can't understand how much I want to hold her in my arms again. I don't want to wait one second more." Clark said as Jonathon nodded.

"Then stop talking and go get here." Jonathon smiiled, then they hugged and Clark left.

*Paris.*

Lana and Jen shared an appartment. "Lana, come on, please?" Jen asked.

"No, i'm not interested and i'll never be interested." Lana told her, bluntly.

"Why not? He's a nice guy and he's hott." Jen said.

"I don't care, he's not the right guy for me?" Lana told her.

"Then who is? This mystery man who you put in your pictures? Come on Lana, you can't do this to yourself. I know you're hurting inside, please let me help you." Jen pleaded.

"I won't go unless it's a friend's thing. I don't want to date anyone, i'm only going if it's specially not a date." Lana told Jen.

"Deal." Jen said smiling.

Chapter 27:

*The Daily Planet.*

"Come on Jimmy, get me those papers." Lois yelled as Jimmy hurried to her.

"Here you go Lois, by the way, you have a visitor." Jimmy told her.

"Who is it?" Lois asked.

"I don't know, but he says he's a friend." Jimmy told her as Lois had no clue who it could be. She walked out into the hallaway as Clark stood behind her.

"There she is, Lois Lane, the Daily Planet's most famous reporter." Clark said smiling as Lois hugged him.

"Clark! How did you...." Lois couldn't finish her words as she was in shock.

"Let's just say for now, that I found my way home." Clark told her.

"We were all so worried, how could you do that to us Smallville." She said jokingly.

"I'm really not in the mood for jokes." Clark told her.

"Sorry, i'm guessing you hear about Lana then." Lois said.

"Yeah, that's kind of why i'm here. You wouldn't happen to know where she is, would you?" Clark asked hopefully.

"No, Chloe made me promise that no matter what happens I stay out of Lana's business. She just wanted Lana to have some space." Lois told him.

"Lana's business is my business, so could you help me find her?" Clark asked.

"Off course." Lois said smiling.

*Paris.*

Lana is reading a book when Jen comes in. "Can you at least try to make it look like you care?" Jen asked Lana.

"Except I don't." Lana told her.

"Then do you want to sit here all your life thinking about this guy who left you?" Jen asked as Lana snapped towards her.

"He didn't leave me!" Lana said sternly.

"Okay, tell me what happen then." Jen said.

"You know I can't do that." Lana told her.

"At least answer me this, then. Why do you want to keep hurting yourself? I don't know the whole story, but I can see the results. I can hear you crying at night, having nightmares, trying to pretend that nothing happened to you. How are you going to do this to yourself? You owe it to yourself to go out, at least try and have fun." Jen told her as Lana looked at her thoughtfully.

"I'll try to have fun, but it still doesn't mean anything to me and it certainly isn't a date." Lana told her.

"Fine and remember, if you want to talk, I'll be here for you." Jen said.

"I appreciate that." Lana said, hugging Jen.

*Lois's apartment.*

"Come in, make yourself at home." Lois said getting her laptop.

"You know, I never thought Chloe's interests would rub off on you." Clark said.

"Tell me about it, but I have always liked Chloe's taste in things." Lois told him.

"Me too." Clark told her as Lois, began to work.

"Alright, let's see what we can find here." Lois said continuing to search.

"Thanks for helping me Lois." Clark said sincerely.

"No problem. I never told anyone this, but I think of you as a very close friend and someone I care about." Lois told him.

"Wow, I never knew that." Clark told her.

"Well, now you do." Lois said smiling as Clark returned the smile.

"Did you find anything?" Clark asked.

"Nothing yet, wait....." Lois said as she clicked on a link. "Hero, by Lana Lang." Lois read off the computer, it was a painting done by Lana.

"It's beautiful." Clark said amazed.

"Yeah, hopefully it tells us more though." Lois clicked down and it showed an address.

"Paris..." Clark said, surprised that Lana would be there again.

"Thanks Lois." Clark told her.

"An....." Lois couldn't finish before Clark flew out the window.

*Paris.*

"Okay, at least you look some what like you care." Jen said as Lana wore a black dress, with minimum make up.

"So, i'm meeting him at 7?" Lana asked.

"Yes and it's at Cafe Maria. Please be on time for a change." Jen told her.

"Okay and what's his name again?" Lana asked.

"It's Jim, you know, the guy who paints with us. He's always been very nice to you and he's hott." Jen reminded her.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...." Lana said as Jen sighed.

"Just go." Jen said shoving Lana out the door.

Clark was flying on his way to Paris, so many thoughts going through his head. How would she react to seeing him again, he thought. Had these ten years changed her feelings for him? What if she forgot about him? Clark pushed those thoughts out of his head, because he knew that he had to see Lana. Even if it was just for one more time.

*Cafe Maria.*

Lana and Jim were sitted across from each other. "You look beautiful tonight." Jim told her.

"Thank you." Lana replied.

"Ummm, why'd you get into art?" Jim asked.

"Helps me take my thoughts away from reality." Lana told him as Jim nodded his head and they continued to talk.

*Lana and Jen's apartment.*

Clark knocks on the door, feeling very nervous all of a sudden. "Hello?" Jen said.

"Hi, is Lana here?" Clark asked.

"Ummm, no, but I am." Jen said seducetively, checking out Clark.

"Do you know where I can find here?" Clark asked.

"Cafe Maria, by the way, you look familar." Jen told him.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. Do you know where Cafe Maria is?" Clark asked.

"Just down the block, on the right." Jen said as Clark thanked her and left. As soon as he was out of her sight, Clark superspeed to Cafe Maria.

*Inside Cafe Maria.*

"You don't like me, do you Lana?" Jim asked.

"It's not that, it's just this would never work. My heart belongs to someone else." She told him.

"Fair enough, mind telling me who this guy is?" He asked.

"He's the most sweetest and caring man I ever meet. No one made me happier than him." She said smiling.

Clark was standing there, watching this. 'She did forget about me.' He thought. 'How could I have been so stupid to think she would wait for me. Look at her, she's happy and who could blame her?' He thought to himself as he took one last look at her and then left.

"Did you see that?" Jim asked Lana.

"See what?" Lana asked.

"That guy just disappeared. He was looking at us and then all of a sudden he's gone." Jim said as Lana got up and rushed outside.

"CLARK! CLARK" She screamed looking frantically around and then lowering her head dejectedly. "Clark." She whispered again.

Chapter 28:

Lana returned to her apartment. "How'd it go?" Jen asked excitedly.

"Worse than I expected." Lana said, holding back the tears and the memories.

"You didn't like him? Did he make a move? Was he a jerk? What was it?" Jen asked.

"I saw him." She said.

"You saw Clark." Jen replied as Lana stared at her in awe.

"How'd you know who it was?" Lana asked.

"Maybe a lucky guess or it could have been the fact that you've been calling out his name in your sleep, since the first night we spent here." Jen said.

"You did and you never told me?" Lana said, a little too sad to be upset.

"I figured if you wanted to tell me, you would, otherwise it was none of business." Jen said.

"Yet that never stop you from trying to get it out of me." Lana said folding her arms.

"Yeah, well, some where along the line I became to care about you and worry about you, so excuse." Jen told her, folding her arms now.

"I care about you too, but this is something I have to go through alone. Whether I want to or not." Lana said going to her room. She sat on the edge of her bed and reached inbetween her bed, taking out a picture. It was the picture of Clark and Lana dancing at their wedding. They were slow dancing, as Lana laid her head on Clark's chest. She placed her hand on the picture as tears fell from her eyes. Memories taking over her mind.

"Just know that, I will always love you. No matter where I am."

I'm so tired of being here.
Suppressed by all my childish fears.
And if you have to leave,
I wish that you would just leave.
cause your presence still lingers here,
and it won't leave me alone.

"I need you to know, that whatever happens, I'll never forget you."

These wounds won't seem to heal,
this pain is just too real,

Lois walks into her apartment and sees Clark sitting on her couch. "I'm guessing it didn't go as you planned." Lois said taking a sit nex to him.

"She was at this place, with another guy. She was happy." Clark told her, stumbling through his words.

"Are you sure that it's what you think?" Lois asked.

"I couldn't have expected her to wait forever. Maybe it's just better that I move on." Clark told her.

"That's not what you want." Lois told him.

"No, it isn't, but it may be what's right, for her." Clark replied.

"Come on Clark, you can't be serious." Lois responded.

"I am and you'll respect my wishes. You have to promise not to tell anyone, not even Chloe." Clark said to her.

"Okay, but you at least owe it to her to tell her that you're back." Lois told him.

"What we had was a long time ago and the memories will only bring us both pain." Clark told her as Lois nodded sadly.

Chapter 28

Lana slowly stirs from her bedside, sitting on the edge of her bed, putting her hands through her hair. One question going through her head, 'Was that really him.' Then she shook her head, 'no'. She said, trying to convincing herself as she went into the kitchen for breakfast. Jen gave her a bowl of cearel and milk as well as one for herself. "Thanks." Lana said taking the bowl and sitting down.

"Welcome." Jen said as Lana began to eat, but Jen didn't, she just stared at Lana. Finally, Lana looked up.

"What?" Lana asked.

"Are you going to tell me about Clark?" Jen asked.

"It's a long story." Lana told her.

"I've got all day." Jen told her as Lana sighed.

"Okay, I've known Clark since I was five. In fact, we were neighbors for 13 years, as I lived with my aunt. We never really talked until high school, when I saw him crying in a graveyard, where I was visiting my parents. I took his hand and introduced him to my parents. He was so sweet, telling me how much my parent's still loved and cared about me. We became friends, friends who were secretly in love with each other." Lana said pausing and letting Jen take it in.

"Wow, that is deep. Is he hott?" Jen asked as Lana raised her eyebrows.

"Yes, he is hott and it gets deeper. Clark wasn't like your ordinary teen, he was so mysterious. Most of the time he was this sweet, caring, loving person, then all of a sudden one day he'd be completely different. I could never understand that and it hurt, mostly because he would never tell me why." Lana said, as she became teary eyed.

"Why wouldn't he tell you?" Jen asked, getting into this.

"Because he thought it was too dangerous and it was, but he never understood that it didn't mean anything to me. At the end of sophmore year, we finally got together and then he left. I spent the summer. doing what i've been doing ever since I got here. Eventually, I found him, but he wasn't himself. So his dad got him and he came back, but it wasn't the same or maybe it was more of the same. He pushed me away again, broke up with me. He told me that he wasn't the right guy for me and that he always tried to be. I told him, he never had to try, but i guess it was too late. We stayed a part that whole year, until I couldn't take any more and had to leave. I told him that I was coming here for the arts. I could see how hurt he was, but so was I. I just couldn't take the pain anymore, it was too hard seeing him and not being with him." Lana explained.

"You left, just like that. What did he say?" Jen asked.

"He told me to have a good time, but there was something else he was trying to tell me. He just never got the courage to say it. Anyways, i went to Paris for the summer, meet this guy, but then something strange happened and I was drawn back to Smallville." Lana told her.

"What happen?" Jen asked.

"One long story at a time." Lana said.

"Alright, go on." Jen said.

"I went back to Smallville, but this time I had a boyfriend. He came from Paris to be with me and I guess you can say I was happy. He was a nice guy, handsome and had no secrets, at least that's what i thought. For half of that year, I kept my distance from Clark. I thought it would be better that way, we could stop hurting each other. It's funny, i never felt so alone than I did during that time. Half through the year something happen, I began to trust him again and we even got to dance with each other at our senior prom. He even told me that this time would be different and frankly, I didn't care, I just wanted to be with him. I broke up with my other boyfriend, me and Clark attempted to rebuild what we had. Then a second meteor shower came, I wa so scared, my life was on the line and i needed to tell him that I loved him. So, I did and he said the same back. Luckly enough, we survived the meteor shower and got to begin our relationship." Lana told her smiling at that.

"That's great, but what happened next?" Jen asked.

"We lived it up, it was great, only things we did were kiss and cuddle. Off course, in our relationship, it's only a matter of time before something screws it up. I ended up finding out about his secret through unforunate circumstances and I was upset. I felt like I didn't know him anymore, so he made a decisions for me, to give up who he was. Sorry, i can't elaborate more on that, but that secret is his only. Anyways, I knew I made a mistake reacting the way I did and I went to see him, when I did he told me what he did. I loved him so much that and we ended up having sex. Although, because of the decision he made, his friend would end up dying to protect him. He was heart-broken because of it and left again. This time I didn't wait, i went right after him. For the first time in our relationship, he totally opened up to me and we went back home, only to stay for a short time, because we had to leave. Again, sorry I can't elaborate more, but like I said, it's his secret. We started out new life M
etropolis, it went very smoothly for a while, he purposed to me and I accepted. We were on our way to getting married, until someone came into our life. He pretended to be a friend and when he got the chance he took advantage of me, when I was sad about Clark. Clark saw the whole thing and we got into a huge fight, ended up breaking off the wedding. I didn't want to get married, if he couldn't trust me, so we spent a year a part." Lana paused again, thinking of the bad memories.

"Sounds like a story of Romeo and Juliet." Jen said.

"After a year, I realized that my life wasn't complete without him, so I decided to forgive him. He did the same for me and we eventually got married, moved into a house. It was a dream come true. Everything was going great, but i felt the need for something more, a child. I had always wanted a family ever since my parents died. This where I have to yet again pull the I can't go deep here, because it's his secret card. So, I did something to get this child and be pregnant." Lana said.

"Did you do it with another man?" Jen asked.

"No! I would never do that, believe me, you could never comprehend what I did. I didn't tell him what I did, so I kept it from him. He would plead with me to tell him, but I couldn't, because he would never allow me to do what I planned to. Then I began to get sick, because of it and was taken into the hospital. I told what happened and he got mad, went after the people responsible for it. He ended up saving my life, at the expense of our baby." Lana said crying, remembering the pain of losing a child. A pain that never does go away.

"I'm sorry Lana." Jen said as Lana wipped her eyes.

"It's not your fault. What Clark did, however didn't come without price. Doing what he did, released a danger. Only he could stop the danger and he did, while sacrificing himself." Lana said placing her face in her hands.

"Oh my, Lana." Jen said taking Lana into her arms as Lana cried on her shoulder.

"I just miss him so much." Lana said between sobs.

"I'm sure where ever he is, he misses you just as much." Jen told her.

*Lois's apartment.*

Lois is sleeping in her bedroom as Clark stands out in the balcony. Staring at the clouds above, memories filling his head.

Well its been a while since I have said anything at all but I love the new material on your stories, Its very fascinating. Chapter 29

*Couples of days later.*

Clark is standing out in the balcony, early in the morning, looking down at Metropolis. Thinking about what he always does, Lana. When he see's Lois.

"You don't sleep, do you?" Lois asked as Clark waked back inside her apartment. Clark smiled at her comment.

"I couldn't sleep." Clark told her.

"Understable, seeing as how your heart is in pieces." Lois replied.

"That would be a way to describe the condition of my heart. Although I would prefer incomplete." Clark said.

"Then why don't you fix that and go see her." Lois asked.

"We've been over this Lois, let it go." Clark said as Lois shook her head.

"How can I let it go, when it's obviously tearing you up inside. Sooner or later it's going to destroy you, super powers or not." Lois told him.

"Then let it destroy me." Clark said, then Lois got up and grab him by the shoulders.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!?" Lois yelled.

"Nothing." Clark said, shaking it off.

"You're not the man I know, not the man Lana loves, not the hero we all know. Who are you?" Lois asked emphatically.

"What do you mean who I am?" Clark asked taken a back by Lois.

"Just what I asked. You won't help anyone, you won't help yourself, you're being a coward and destroying yourself piece by piece." Lois told him.

"I don't have to listen to this." Clark said trying to move, but Lois stepped right in front of him.

"Yes you do! Because if you don't hear it now, it may be too late later." Lois paused. "Clark, you're losing yourself and I won't let you." Lois said in an emtionally way.

"You don't have a choice." Clark said pushing her off him and walking out as Lois hung her head. Clark walked the street of Metropolis, as he did every day. Although he looked completely healthy and as strong as ever, he wasn't complete. He was lost, just like Lois said. He'd look at the kids playing with their parents and teenagers holding hands as they walked through the streets.

"Give me all your money and jewels." A robber with a gun told a man and his wife. Clark said this from across the street, but stood still, almost like he was unable to do anything. The robber took the money and jewels, he ran away.

"Someone please help us." The couple screamed, but Clark did nothing. He just stood there, staring at them, when a familar voice came from behind him.

"Wow, this is something new. Clark Kent doesn't save the day." Lex said with a smirk on his face.

"Lex...." Clark says staring blankly at him.

"I guess you're wondering why i'm here and what I want?" Lex asked.

"No, because it is none of my business and I don't care anymore." Clark told him.

"You don't care? But let me guess, Superman does?" Lex asked with a grin.

"There is no Superman." Clark told him and then walked away. Leavng Lex a little confused. Clark continued to walk down the streets of Metropolis, until he found a bench to sit at. He would sit there for hours, until he heard a voice.

"Where's superman?" A little kid asked.

"How would I know?" Clark replied.

"Because you interview him, don't you?" The kid asked.

"I did, but I don't anymore." Clark told him.

"I miss him, he was my hero." The kid told Clark as Clark nodded sadly.

"He was mine too." Clark told the kid.

"He cared about all of us and he was like my father." The kid explained.

"What about your real father?" Clark asked.

"I don't have one." The kid told him.

"But you do have a family?" Clark asked.

"No, i'm an orphan." The kid told Clark.

"But you do have a place to stay? Don't you?" Clark asked again.

"Yeah, over there." The kid said, pointing to the boxes in the alley as Clark raised his eyebrows.

"Why don't you stay with me." Clark said as the kid smiled and nodded.

*Lois's apartment.*

Lois is on the phone. "Yes, come as soon as you can." Lois said over the phone.

"I'll get on the first plane." The person told her.

"Good, he needs you." Lois told her and hung up the phone.

Chpater 26

Clark and the kid walk into Lois's apartment. "Clark we need to.....Who is that?" Lois said turning her attention to the kid.

"His name is Lewis and he's six." Clark told her.

"Six in a half." Lewis said holding up with fingers in an attempt to say six in a half.

"Right." Clark said nodding his head.

"That's great, so where are his parents?" Lois asked.

"He doesn't have any." Clark told her.

"Oh, well, doesn't he have an relatives?" Lois asked.

"Nope, he's all by himself." Clark told her.

"So, i'm guessing he doesn't have a own either." Lois said with her hands on her waist.

"No, so I asked him to stay here." Clark told her.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" Lois asked Clark as she pulled him aside. "He can't stay here." Lois told him.

"Why not?" Clark asked.

"Because I'm already taking care of one child, I don't need another. Plus you have enough on your plate without adding something or someone else to it." Lois said.

"I can handle it, I mean he has no where else to go. What was I suppose to do?" Clark asked.

"Okay, he can stay the night, but we have to called the orphanage tomorrow." Lois said.

"Fine." Clark said motioning toward Lewis to follow him into the bedroom. Lois shook her head and took a seat on the couch.

*A couple hours later.*

"Clark, i'm going out. I'll be back late, so take care of things well i'm gone." Lois said.

"Okay, we'll just be watching t.v." Clark told her.

"Alright, bye." Lois said.

"Bye." Clark replied as Lois left.

"Is she your wife?" Lewis asked.

"No." Clark told him.

"But, i thought moms and daddys were suppose to live together." Lewis said.

"They are, but sometimes things just get messed up." Clark told him.

"Why though? Don't you love your mama?" Lewis asked.

"I do, but it's complicated, so let's just watch t.v." Clark told him.

"Okay." Lewis said turning back to the t.v. After watching t.v. for the night, Clark checks his watch.

"Time for you to go bed buddy." He says turning to Lewis, who happens to already be asleep. Clark just smiles and covers him with a blanket. Then there's a knock on the door and Clark opens it to find a familar face.

"Long time, no see." Bruce said smiling.

"Should have known Lois couldn't keep a secret." Clark said watching back toward the t.v.

"So you're not happy to see me?" Bruce said walking in.

"Not that, it is just that I know why you're here." Clark told him.

"Did i give it away that easily?" Bruce asked.

"Yep." Clark said.

"Okay, well, since it's out in the open we might as well start. What's going on with you?" Bruce asked.

"Nothing, i'm just trying to live my life." Clark told him.

"Is that right? Is this your life? Sitting at home with an orphan, watching t.v.?" Bruce asked.

"It might be." Clark said.

"Okay, maybe I better question, is this the life you want?" Bruce asked.

"It doesn't really matter, nothing really matters anymore." Clark told him.

"What about Lana? Does she matter? Do all the people who need you matter?" Bruce asked emphatically.

"I don't want to talk about it." Clark replied.

"Off course you don't, because you'd rather sit here and waste your life away." Bruce told him.

"My life to waste." Clark said.

"It is, but at who's cost?" Bruce asked.

"No ones, because no one cares that Superman isn't around and Lana's happy in Paris." Clark firmly told him.

"No, she isn't and they do care. You see Clark, regular people are very much like us, they hide behind a mask or a costume to shield what's inside. If you think Lana's happy without you, then you don't know her at all." Bruce told him as Clark stared down painfully at the ground.

"It's too late." Clark said.

"It's never too late." Bruce told him as Clark continued to look blankly down at the floor. "I have to go, it was nice to see you again or what's left of you." Bruce said as he began to walk out, taking one last look at a dejected Clark.

*Paris*

Lana is sitting on her couch reading a book, when she hears a knock on the door. "Hello? Anyone home." Chloe said walking in as Lana saw her and remembered their last meeting.

*Flashback, one year ealier.*

Lana is packing up her bags as Chloe walks in. "Going some where?" Chloe asked.

"Anywhere, but here." She said placing her clothes into her bag

"The memories will go along with it. You can't run away from that." Chloe told her.

"I know, but I can't stay here, in this empty house and with everyone feeling sorry for me." Lana explained.

"Running away doesn't do any good Lana, besides he might come back." Chloe said.

"He might and if he does, i'll there in a second. Until that day, I can't come back, it's just not the same and it never will be." Lana told her.

"At least tell me where you're going." Chloe said.

"Sorry chlo, i love you like my sister, but I need to be completely alone. At least for a while, just me." Lana told her.

"Okay, I'll miss you." Chloe said hugging Lana.

"I'll miss you too." Lana told her, embracing her back.

*End of Flashback.*

"Has it been that long?" Chloe asked, wondering if you Lana knew who she was.

"No, it's been too long." Lana said getting up to hug her.

"How are you holding up?" Chloe asked.

"Alright, i guess." Lana said shrugging her shoulders.

"Well, i think you're about to get a whole lot better." Chloe said smiling as Lana looked at her strangely.

Chapter 27:

"What is it Chloe?" Lana asked as Chloe took a deep breath.

"Clark came back." Chloe told her as Lana looked at her blankly.

"Huh?" Lana asked, making sure she heard Chloe correctly.

"Clark is back." Chloe said as tears fell down Lana's cheeks.

"In metropolis?" Lana asked, still in shock.

"Yes, he's in metropolis." Chloe told Lana, as Lana rushed toward the door.

"Let's go." Lana said grabbing her jacket.

"Lana wait..." Chloe said lightly grabbing her on the shoulder.

"What's the problem?" Lana asked.

"He's not himself." Chloe told her.

"Like Red kryponite not himself? Or like Kal not himself? You're going to have to specify?" Lana told her, waiting impatiently.

"I really don't know, he's there, but it is like he isn't all there." Chloe said as Lana looked on concerned.

"Did anything happen to him?" Lana asked.

"I don't know, but it may have to do with the fact that he saw you happy?" Chloe said as Lana looked confused.

"Oh, must have saw me out with that guy at the Cafe. I know i shouldn't have gone, it wasn't even a date Chloe, i just went to make my friend happy." Lana told her.

"You couldn't have none he is there or that he even came back. I didn't come here to talk you out of seeing here, I came here to get you." Chloe said giving a small smile.

"Then I don't want to waste another second, let's go." Lana said as she and Chloe left.

*Lois's apartment.*

Clark rolls out of his bed and goes into the living room to check on Lewis, who is still sleeping. "He's out like a light." Lois told him.

"Yeah, we were up for a while last night." Clark told her, pausing a second before continuing. "Why did you tell Bruce I was here" Clark asked.

"Because I didn't know what to do." Lois told him.

"All you needed to do was keep quiet and let me live my life." Clark said sternly.

"Live a life of depression? I'm sorry, i just couldn't stand by and let your life go down the drain." Lois told him.

"It's my choice." Clark said.

"You're right, it is, but sometimes even you can make the wrong choice." She told him.

"Lois....." He said before she cut him off.

"Listen Clark, i'm done giving you lectures and speeches. It's not going to change you or make a difference. There's only one person who can do that, only one person who ever could and hopefully she finds you." Lois said and kissed Clark on the cheek. "Take care of the kid." She said before leaving as Clark stood there staring blankly at the floor.

*Bruce's private Plane*

"Nice plane.* Lana told Chloe.

"One of the many added gifts of being Mrs. Wayne." Chloe said.

"So, how's that going?" Lana asked.

"As good as can be. Although, I do get worry every time he goes out there and saves the day. It's not like with Clark where i know he has his abilities to rely on, Bruce can get killed like any normal man. I'd be lying if I said I didn't spend a lot of nights concerned he might never come home." Chloe confessed.

"Believe me, it's hard even when your husband is bullet proof." Lana told her.

"I guess it comes with the territory." Chloe said.

"Yep, but it's worse when your husband is trying to save the world." Lana said, referring to Clark.

"I couldn't imagine going through what you went through Lana. It must have took an enoromous amount of strength to prevent from just breaking down completely." Chloe said.

"These past ten years have been like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from. I don't know how I did survive, i guess the day I married him was the day I gain some his strength. I've always felt like we were one and when he left, i knew that some how, some way, he would come back." Lana told her, becoming teary eyed.

"How do you think it will feel to see again?" Chloe asked.

"The same way it always does when I see him, like i'm falling in love all over again. I don't how i'll react though, i'm probably going to have to restrain myself from kissing him all over." Lana told Chloe, blushing a little by her kissing remark.

"I wouldn't expect it any other way." Chloe said smiling as the pilot called her.

"Mrs. Wayne, we're here." The pilot said opening the door.

"Here we go." Lana said taking a deep breath.

Chapter 28

She walked up to the door, not knowing what to feel, not knowing if this was really real. It had been ten years since he held her in his arms, told her that he loved her and that nothing meant more to him than her. She's afraid it might be a dream, he might leave again, she might be alone again. Could have been too long she thought? Could he have forgotten her? 'No' She quickly thought and reached her fist up to the door. She knocked lightly.

"Stay right here buddy, I'll get it." Clark said to Lewis, as he got up from the couch and opened the door.

"Clark...." Lana said, as they gazed into each other's eyes. Not knowing what to say, so many feelings going through their body. "Clark!" She repeated and jump into his arms.

"Lana." He said holding her tightly as tears fell from both their eyes.

"I missed you so much." She said, still in his arms, with tears falling down her cheek.

"I missed you too." He told her, holding as if never wanting to let her go.

"I could never be happy without you, I love you Clark." She told him, bringing her face up to look in his eyes.

"I'm sorry that I thought you could be, I was so stupid." Clark confessed.

"It's all okay, as long as we are together again. That's all that matters and that's all that has ever really mattered will matter to me." Lana told him.

"I don't ever want to spend one more second a part." Clark said to her.

"Neither do I." Lana told him, her eyes drying from the tears.

"Lets just start our lives again." Clark said.

"Okay, but before we do, there's just one thing I need to do." Lana told him.

"What's that?" Clark asked, a little confused.

"This." She said, then kissed him passionately on the lips as he kissed back with equal passion. Releasing ten years of pain and sadness. Finally, they broke a part, eyes still closed, taking in the moment.

"I couldn't begin to tell you how much I've missed that." Clark said slowly opening his eyes.

"Not as much as I did." Lana said smiling, before bringing him into another kiss. Lewis then came up to them.

"Ewwww." Lewis said making a sour face as Lana bent down to meet him.

"And who are you?" Lana asked.

"My name is Lewis." He said sticking out his hand, Lana shook it and smiled.

"You know, my dad was named Lewis." Lana told him.

"Really? Where is he now?" Lewis asked.

"He died when I was four." Lana told him.

"My parents died when I was a baby too." Lewis said.

"Well, I guess that makes us the same." She told him.

"Hey buddy, why don't you go watch some more cartoons and we'll talk later." He told him, patting him on the back as he ran back into the room.

"Oh Clark, can he stay with us?" Lana asked.

"You think we're ready?" Clark asked her.

"I think we've been ready for a long time now." Lana said smiling at him.

"Lewis...." Clark called as Lewis came to him.

"How would you like to be adopted?" Clark asked.

"You mean it? I can have a mama and daddy?" Lewis asked.

"Yes, you can." Lana told him and they all hugged.

*A couple months Later.*

Lana and Clark would adopt Lewis. They would also move into a new house in Metropolis. Lewis would begin school, Lana would work at home and Clark would get his job back, both of them. Lex would only be a small problem, here and there, but nothing big. Chloe and Bruce lived happily in Gotham, making frequent visits. Lois would soon marry a man, his name was Aruthur.

"Come on Lewis, you're going to be late for school." Lana called as Lewis rushed downstairs, followed shortly after by Clark.

"Sorry mom, dad was teaching me how to fly." Lewis told her as Lana picked him up.

"Oh he did, did he?" Lana said looking at Clark.

"Not every parents can teach his son how to fly." Clark told her.

"I know and I think it's great." She said kissing him gently on the lips.

"Ewww, mama and daddy kiss too much." Lewis said making a sour face.

"That's because we love each other, but don't worry, i didn't forget you." Lana said kissing him on the cheek.

"Mama......" Lewis said wiping his face.

"It's okay son, more kisses for me." He said kissing Lana on the lips.

"Why don't you get your bag honey and your lunch is on the counter." Lana told Lewis as he hurried off.

"Now that we're alone." Clark said picking up Lana and placing her on the counter.

"Clark we have to go." Lana said before Clark kissed passionately.

"No we don't." Clark said, kissing her again.

"Yes we do, I have to drive Lewis to school and you have work." Lana told him.

"One of the downsides to being a parent." Clark said.

"But there our so many upsides. I can't think of a time I was more happy. We have a family, this is what i've always dreamed of." Lana told him.

"Yes, this has been a dream come true. Although it is hard sometimes, being Superman does limit family time." Clark replied.

"It does, but Superman is a part of you. I understand that, so does he and we love you for that. Just as long as you come home to us everyday." Lana told him, stroking hiis face with her cheek.

"And I always will, love will always come first. It always has." Clark said as they shared another kiss.
