Hi, this is my first post ever so I would appreciate a lot of feedback. Please and thank you. Its also the first story I've ever written for this so its probably really bad. Be kind please. *She runs to her corner in the back of the room and buries her face in her hands* Well here it is...
Title: Secrets
Author: clana-follower06
Pairing: Clark/Lana
Chapter 1~

Another year cherished, another year lost, I think I’ll let you decide...
Your friend,
Clark Kent
“There you go Chloe, I just finished signing your yearbook.” Clark said as he handed the brightly decorated book over to Chloe.
“Thanks for pointing out the obvious Clark, I don’t know what I would do without you.” Chloe replied with a sarcastic tone in her voice.
“Very funny Chloe, but can you really belive we’re actually graduating in like pretty much three days. I mean think about it, what are you going to do without the Torch, or late night study sessions with your best friend in the whole wide world?” Clark exclaimed while pulling Chloe into a playful headlock.
“ The Torch I will definitely miss, but I’m not so sure about the latter. Clark, what about you, I mean what’s happening with you and Lana. Isn’t she going to go off to college?” Chloe managed to cough out.
“Uh... actually... Chloe, about that... Lana actually told me that she doesn’t think she’s going to go to college. She thinks her time would be better spent in Smallville. I actually think that’s a smart thing to do, I was also going to tell you that I, uh well, decided to stay in Smallville also.” Clark said in almost a whisper.
“Clark, you don’t actually mean that, do you? I mean I know you still have feelings for Lana and all, but I didn’t think you would actually throw away your life for her considering what you’re capable of!”
“ Chloe! I’m not doing this for Lana; there are still some things in my life I need to sort out. I just figured this is the best way to do that, and I’m not going to change my mind, I’m sorry Chloe, but this is what I have to do.” Clark replied knowing that what he just said was going to blow up in his face.
“You know what Clark, how about I just leave and let you continue drooling over your favorite coffee shop owner, our very own Lana Lang.”
“Chloe! Wait!” Clark yelled after her. And then in a faint whisper he said,” I’m sorry....”

A soft breeze blew around him gently caressing his strong figure. “ I feel like I’ve just betrayed Chloe, but I don’t know what I did wrong.” Clark thought to himself the rest of the day as his classes slipped by like sand through open fingers.
When Clark got home from school that day he felt as if he’d explode if he talked to another person so he stumbled up to his loft without going to the house to tell his parents he was home. He positioned himself by the window of his loft gazing out at the long fields that seemed as if they stretched out over the whole world. He just stood there thinking for hours, his thoughts were rampaging through his already clouded mind. “ Was it really true he was staying in Smallville because of Lana, he didn’t know what was true anymore” Clark asked himself he was unsure of everything at that moment, but how could someone live without knowing difficulties, because if there were no difficulties in life, how would you know what to cherish?

Chapter 2~
Just as soon as he drifted into his trance he just as quickly snapped out of it as he heard a small squeak of the floorboards behind him. He spun around and found Lana curiously staring at him with a meaningful look in her eyes that he couldn’t help but look at. It was as if the world spun around just them, how could I not love her? He thought to himself, remembering all the times he wanted to tell her how he felt but couldn’t because he was afraid of how she might react.
“Lana? What are you doing here? I thought you’d be helping out at the Talon about now.” Just as he said that he looked down at his watch and realized that it was past seven o’ clock. He’d just realized he missed dinner. Why didn’t his parents call him in?
“Hi Clark, I just really needed to talk to you. If that’s okay?” Lana asked, the curious look had subsided but instead a puzzled expression took its place.
“ Of course we can talk Lana, why did you ask if it was okay, you know you can talk to me any time.” Clark was now the one with the puzzled expression.
“ How can you just be so patient with the world? When you were staring out at the sunset it looked as if you were so calm, like you had all the answers, but when you saw me standing behind you returned to the Clark you show everyone on the outside.”
Lana asked curious to know more about the man of mysteries, otherwise referred to as the man of her dreams in her mind.
Clark blushed not knowing how to react to her statement.” I, uh, just find it easier to listen to the troubles of the sky rather then those of the people on this earth.”
“Don’t we all.” Lana replied. “ Actually Clark, the real reason I came here was to talk to you about Chloe. She’s been avoiding me lately and I don’t know why. But she did mention something about you.”
“Great” Clark thought “ the one time the woman I love comes to my loft to talk to me its about one of my friends.” “Lana, well Chloe and I did have a fight, and I told her about how you decided to stay in Smallville, and then I told her about how I’m also staying in Smallville instead of going to Met U.” Clark said shyly.
“You... you’re staying in Smallville also?” Lana asked.
“ Yeah, I have a few things I need to sort out before I leave, and I guess it will also be easier for us.” After Clark realized what he said he quickly recovered by saying “we won’t have to worry about saying good bye.” He said with a dopey grin.
Lana slightly laughed at his mistake but didn’t let him see. “Clark, it was nice talking to you, I have to go, but I’ll see you later, bye.” She beat her temptation to tell him how she really felt and managed to walk out of his loft with only one small tear rolling down her graceful face. She knew she couldn’t tell him how she felt; not now she thought. He needs to be honest first; maybe then they could be together. She slowly climbed into her car and pulled her self together and managed to leave the farm. But for some reason she felt she left something with Clark. Then she remembered.... it was her heart.

Clark had another chance to tell Lana his secret but he blew it, Clark wondered why Lana even wanted to be with him after all the times he had hurt her. But then it became obvious. She loved him, just as he had loved her since he had first met her. How had he been so blind, with all his abilities he couldn’t see how much she loved him. There had been so much going on this year it took him awhile to put it all together. He remembered when he told her this time would be different, he wasn’t lying, and he meant it. It was time she knew the truth; the question is how should he tell her? Clark returned to his house and he crawled into his bed, knowing that things would be different. “Tomorrow” he thought, “tomorrow I’m going to tell her.” And then in a matter of minutes Clark drifted off into a deep sleep.

Okay, here is the next part, enjoy...
Chapter 3~

The sun shone through the curtains in Clark’s room and cast a shadow across his face, causing him to wake up. Usually he wasn’t what you call a morning person, but today he couldn’t control his excitement and he leapt out of bed and used his super speed to get ready for the big day in a matter of seconds. Nothing could ruin what he was about to do today, nothing could stop him... not today.
Lana woke with a start as she heard something make a loud noise and it was coming from the coffee shop below her apartment. She walked past her long bookcase that was crammed with books about poetry and love. As she reached the door she turned the handle and opened the door. To her relief it was Sarah, one of the waitresses, trying to pry open the door to get the Talon up and running for the day. Lana thought to herself she must have overslept when she went to unlock the door for Sarah. When she glanced up at the large clock she realized she did oversleep, the clock read nine o’ clock! Usually Lana woke up at seven to get the Talon ready. Lucky for her it was a Saturday, which gave her a right to sleep in. Right now she wished she could have a super power like super speed to help her get ready. She even laughed at the idea, how funny would that be?
Clark ran downstairs to eat breakfast and was surprised to run right into his dad, Jonathan Kent. “ Hi dad, nice day isn’t it.” Clark exclaimed.
“Whoa Clark what’s got you so happy, you’re usually sleeping in today?” Jonathan asked with a bemused expression plastered to his face.
“Actually dad, I was going to ask Lana if she’d like to have dinner with me tonight.”
“Way to go Clark! Have fun okay.”
“I was um thinking that I uh would tell her tonight, about my uh secret.” Clark rushed the last sentence out of his mouth, and it felt as if it just lingered in the air between him and his father.
“Now Clark, are you sure about your decision? Have you thought about the consequences and how this might put Lana in danger?” Jonathan asked
“ Dad, I’ve thought about this for four years! I’ve always wanted to tell her, but I didn’t know how. But I do now, I think I’m ready; I know I’m ready. Just let me have the chance.” Clark told his father.
“Only if you’re sure, I can’t talk this over with your mother right now because she went to Metropolis for some business, so I hope your making the right decision.”
“ Dad, I’m sure! I have to go, I’ll see you later.”

A petite girl, almost a woman sat in the corner of an Egyptian themed coffee shop with her nose stuck in a book until Clark entered the coffee shop and ran up to her beaming.
“ Hi Lana, do you mind if we talk?” Clark asked exuberantly.
“ Um yeah sure, what do you want to talk about?” Lana lowered her book from her face and gazed into Clark’s mysterious eyes as if she was trying to decipher all his mysteries.
“I was wondering if you’d like to have dinner with me tonight, you don’t have to, but I wanted to tell you something important.” Clark let out a sigh after he finished talking.
“ Dinner? Does that mean you’re going to cook for me?” She asked trying to stifle a few giggles.
“I guess, if you want me to, but I think it would be safer if my mom cooks the dinner. If you can come I was going to have it in the loft, so we could watch the sunset while we ate. And maybe this time we won’t miss it.” Clark replied in a deep sweet voice.
How could she say no, and he said he would tell her something important.” Of course I’ll come Clark, when else can I spend time with my favorite flannel wearing farm boy?”
“ I’ll see you later then? Goodbye Lana.” Clark said.
“Goodbye” Lana replied wondering what would happen later that night.

Okay, I'll post more in a few minutes, I just have to get it ready first.

Okay, here it is
Chapter 4~
this one is really short, sorry.

The day went by slowly for Clark, he was so anxious to tell Lana his secret he felt like his insides were being scraped out with a piece of kryptonite.
Lana searched her room for something appropriate for her dinner with Clark tonight. And finally she found something she wouldn’t normally wear but felt as if she should wear it tonight, because it was such a special occasion.
The clock seemed to slow down for both of them as it got closer to the dinner, but finally the time came when Lana left for Clark’s house and he nervously awaited her arrival. “ I have two weaknesses” Clark thought “ kryptonite and Lana Lang.
Lana didn’t know what to expect, “This is Clark, is he really going to reveal his secrets to me?” Lana thought.
Clark saw Lana pull up in her car and hopped out, she was wearing a long flowy dress that hugged every one of her curves perfectly. Lana looked out across the driveway and saw Clark in a handsome suit that she thought Lex must have given to him, and he was holding a bouquet of sunflowers that he must have picked from his mother’s garden, but in the center a single red rose stood out from the ocean of yellow.
Clark’s heart fell into his stomach as she began to walk toward her “ She’s so beautiful” he thought “ do I really have a chance with her?”
Clark and Lana walked arm in arm up to the loft, and he sat her down at a small table for two covered in a beautiful cloth that was barely visible under all the food. Clark walked over to the other side of the table and sat down. They both started eating, and both were wondering who would speak first.
Lana decided she would be the one to start talking “Clark, what did you want to talk to me about, I have to be honest and tell you that I’ve been thinking about it all day.”
Clark sighed, a little disappointed by her forwardness, but willing to tell her what had been on both of their minds all day, he started with “Lana, you have definitely been more patient with me then I expected you to be, on countless occasions you have surprised me with how strong you actually are, and I want to tell you the truth about me because I know I can finally trust you to be there for me.”
“Clark, of course I’ll be there for you, but right now I just need to know the truth.” She hadn’t planned on pressuring him like that, but it was working so she decided to continue with it “Clark, I want you to know you can trust me.”
And with that Clark knew he could tell her, he took a deep breath and reluctantly began to talk, starting with something minor “Have you noticed that I’m always there when you need me, just in time to save you?” he asked Lana hopefully.
Lana sat on the edge of her seat, “this is it” she thought, Clark is going to tell her. “Yes, I’ve noticed that and I always couldn’t figure out how you did it.” She replied.
“Well, I um, I’m not exactly from here.” Clark said, dreading what would happen next.

Okay, here it is, yet another short one, but the stiry is short also, and I just want to make sure I spread them out.

“I know Clark, you were adopted, and who knows where you were born.”Lana knew something was up but she couldn’t yet figure out what is was.
“No Lana, I mean I’m not from here.” As Clark said this he waved his arm out over the sky and the fields. “Lana, I’m, an uh, I’m an alien...”Clark held his breath, not knowing how she would reply. His heart felt as if it would burst through his chest, and his ears were ringing with the sound of dissapointmenthe knew was about to come.
“You’re a what?!” Lana practically yelled. “How could this be? It does make sense though, how Clark is always able to save her, Lana had thought for years now that Clark had been effected by the meteor shower but she had never guessed alien.” Lana thought to herself. “Are you telling me the truth? Because if you are I believe you.” Lana said nervously eyeing Clark. “It explains how you’re able to save everyone and how you’re always able to save me.””So, uh, Krypton, huh?
“I’m telling you the truth Lana, Krypton was where I was born, but it exploded and my parents sent me to earth, I can do things you couldn’t even imagine. Instead of telling you all of this, how about I put on a little demonstration.” Clark said, watching Lana to see how she would react to all of this.
“What do you mean by demonstration?” Lana asked
“ You see those candles back there?” Clark asked.
Lana quickly spun around and saw what he was staring at. There were about five unlit candles behind her, and as she was about to turn back around when each of the five candles lit itself as if by magic. Confused by what just happened she looked back at Clark and saw he was staring intently at the candles with his eyes squinted. Then she figured out what just happened, Clark hadn’t been lying, he really was from another planet. “How did you do that?” Lana asked eager to know more about Clark.
“ I did it with my eyes, I can heat things up just by looking at them.” Clark replied proudly. It felt so good to be able to share this with the girl he loved. And he was surprised at how well she was taking it.
What else can you do?” Lana asked.
“You promise you won’t be freaked out, right?” Clark asked as a grin crept onto his face.
“I promise.” she said returning the grin.
“Okay, stare straight at me, you ready?” as soon as he said that Clark vanished.
“Clark, where are you?” Lana asked, she was shocked at what just happened, where did he go?
“Over here Lana.” Clark yelled.
Lana looked over at the stairs, Clark was standing right there looking at her lovingly. “Wow, I knew you were fast, but I didn’t expect you were that fast.” Lana said. “So that’s your secret, I didn’t even think you were capable of this, I had spent hours on end thinking about what your secret was and not once did this cross my mind.”
“Um, Lana I haven’t even told you my secret yet, I’ve only scratched the surface.” Clark said looking down at his large feet.

Okay I guess I'm ready to post more. It's the last chapter so I hope you like it.
Chapter 6~
“You mean there’s more?” Lana replied.
“Yup.” Clark said, speeding back over to where Lana sat.
“I guess I’m going to have to get used to that. Huh?” Lana said sarcastically. “ So what else ya got up your sleeve?” She asked with a funny tone in her voice.
“Well for one, I’m bullet proof, so you don’t have to worry about hurting me.” Clark said with a grin.
“Oh my god, are you serious?” Lana replied.
“Yeah, wait just a minute, I’ll show you.” Clark ran down the stairs and returned with a sharp knife. He told her to take it and try to stab him with it.
She took the knife, but the thought of stabbing the man she loved almost brought her to tears. Reluctantly she brought the knife high and tried to drive it into his chest, but it didn’t even penetrate his chest, instead it broke into a hundred pieces and shattered across the floor. “Oh my god Clark are you alright?!” Lana hurriedly asked him.
“Yeah Lana I’m fine, I told you you couldn’t hurt me.” Clark said trying to comfort her.
“You really are an alien aren’t you?” Lana asked him now ready for anything after what she just saw. Was this really the guy that she fell in love with, she had kissed him, and he was an alien? But at this moment that didn’t really bother her.
“I really am an alien, there are a few more things I should tell you before I go on.” Clark told her hoping she wouldn’t be afraid of him.
“Okay, what are they?” She replied a little hesitant because of what just happened.
“I can bench press a tractor, I can see through walls, I have super hearing, and.... I love you.” He quickly said in almost a whisper.
It was as if she hadn’t heard what he had said before I love you, that was all she was focusing on now, she knew she loved him too, and she knew she had to tell him. “Clark, I love you too, ever since we started talking in the grave yard, it didn’t feel right for me to stay with Whitney, I felt trapped in that relationship out of pity.” Lana replied.
“ I never knew if you’d have been willing to accept me for who I really am, but now I feel as if the time is right for us to be together.” Clark said, not knowing how Lana would respond. “I think I’m ready to tell you my secret...”
Lana was speechless her world was spinning, this was what she had waited to hear for four years, and now it was finally happening and then she heard herself say... “I’m ready.”
“You know how I told you I’m not from Earth?” Lana nodded her head at this. “ Well, I came down to Earth during the meteor shower in my ship.” Clark said.
It took a minute for Lana to soak this in, but she finally got it, part of the reason her parents were killed was because the meteor shower was hiding Clark when he came to Earth. She suddenly was mad at him, but when she looked up she realized how could a three-year-old boy be responsible for the death of her parents? “Clark, I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything.” Clark said as he watched a tear roll down the side of her face.
Before she could change her mind she pulled Clark closer to her until their lips met and she closed her eyes, she was embracing him as if she let go she would hit the ground and wouldn’t be able to stop falling. More tears poured out of her eyes and onto her face. This was love, she knew this by the feeling she got when she was around Clark, and right now she couldn’t help but be in love.

Clark couldn’t help but smile nothing could ruin this moment. And then he thought to himself “Things are different...”

As soon as he thought that he looked up at his window, the sun was setting, it was beautiful. “Lana, look.”
Lana looked out at the sunset, and then she said in a soft and gentle voice “ we didn’t miss it this time Clark...”
The End
