Someone else has secrets (clana story)

(at the talon)

Clark walks into the Talon around 9 PM. He finds Lana, her nose buried in a book. He knew something was wrong whenever she read a book outside of school. She obviously needed someone to talk to. Lana looked up from her book and set it down on the table.

"Hey clark, what's up?" she was concerned.

"Nothing. I just came here to see you" he blushed.

So did Lana.

" When I was walking home, I saw you in here reading. I thought something was wrong."

"No, nothing's wrong." she was lying.

"are you sure?"

" Yea.
"I do need your help with something though. Mr. Sullivan wants me to bring home some groceries. I totally forgot!"

"Sure, I'll help you, Lana. Do you want to leave now?"

"okay."

( in the car)


"Lana, are you sure you're okay?"

"Yea...I'm just...tired that's all."

"okay, I'll take you home."

(at the sullivan's)


They pull into the driveway and Lana looks depressed. She's not herself and Clark's still trying to figure it out.

Lana: "Well, I should go..."

Clark: "Okay, I'll see you tomarrow."

Lana: "Clark, could you take me back to the Talon?"

Clark:"Sure."

(driving to the Talon)

Clark and Lana are both dead silent. They don't know what to say.

Clark:" Lana....

Suddenly, there is only the sound of Lana's screams and the blinding headlights of the truck in front of them. Then, they both disappear from the truck. they are both stranded in the middle of a field. Clark looks at Lana in disbelief. He opens his mouth to speak ,but there's nothing to say.

Lana: "Clark... I ..umm"

Clark: "What is it Lana?"

Lana: "There's something you should know.
Take my hand and I'll show you."

Clark did as she said and they were in Clark's loft in the blink of an eye.

Thanx, you replied to my other story too. It's kind of hard to write two stories at once, but I'll keep writing.

(in Clark's loft)

Clark:"How did you do that?"

Lana:"I don't know Clark. I've always been meaning to tell you. As much as I hated Alicia..we're more alike than you think. Please don't be afraid Clark. I don't want to loose you."

Clark: "looks like someone else has secrets."

Lana: " What do you mean by someone else?"

Clark: "Come by my loft tomarrow, and you'll see."

lana: "Finally, you're really going to tell me the truth?"

Clark:" If that's what you want."

Lana: " I'll be here."
she smiles and walks slowly down from Clark's loft.

Okay, here it goes...

( the next day at school)

Pete:"You're gonna do what?"

Clark:"Well, I've just decided to tell her. Maybe we'll become closer."

Pete:"Why,what if she won't understand? Is there any other reason behind your decision?"

Clark:(stops to think) "Nope."
Clark didn't want to tell Pete, he was already the keeper of his secret.

Pete: "Okay man, I hope you know what you're doing."

(the bell rings for class)

(that day after school)

Clark:(walks into the house with a smile on his face)
"Hey mom."

Martha:"someone's in a good mood,why?"

Clark: "nothing I'm just in a good mood today."

Martha:"that's nice sweetie"

(that night at dinner)

Clark is eating his dinner very fast and Martha and Johnathon have definently noticed.

Johnathon: "Son, slow down. Why the rush?"

Clark: "Lana's going to meet me in the loft later."

Martha:(takes his plate)
"You go. I'll wash your plate."

Clark: "Thax mom."

Martha:"you're very welcome."

Clark runs upstairs to his loft and reads a book to make the time remaining go by faster. He looks at the clock every 4 or5 minutes. Then, he checks his breath and fixes his hair. By the time he's done doing all of this, there is a knock on the door. Clark jumps and falls down the steps. When he gets up he hears a familiar laugh, unfortunately, it was only Chloe.

Clark:"oh, it's just you."

Chloe:"I'm sorry I'm not who you were expecting."
Clark:"Chloe, this is a bad time.

Chloe:" I just came by to tell you about a new addition to my wall of weird. This girl can make you think whatever she wants. She can also make you act however she wants. She goes to our school. You talk to her all the time in Math.

Cllark:"What are you saying that she can just use someone as her own puppet?

Lana sneaks upstairs and overhears the next part of this conversation.

Clark:"I'm a little bit freaked out by her. I don't think I would want to hang around her anymore. I mean..who would after hearing about her secret?"

Chloe:"Who were you expecting here tonight?"

Clark:"Who do you think?"

Lana can't listen anymore and runs out of the loft. Clark has no idea and waits there all night.

(the next morning)

Clark: "Morning mom"

Martha: "oh, honey what happened last night?"

Clark:"Nothing, she didn't even come."

Martha:"I thought I heard someone leave the barn last night."

Clark:"You mean you thinks she came then left without talking to me?"

Clark:"Not good. When she came she left before talking to me."

Pete:"Well, here she is now."

Clark:"Hey Lana."

Lana:"Sorry Clark, I have to get to second period."

Pete:(shrugs)

Clark:"You see?"

Pete:"Yea, try to talk to her later and figure out what's up."

Clark:(nods and walks to class)

(that day at the talon)

Lana:(reading a book)

Clark:(walks into the talon)
"Hey Lana." What's wrong?"

Lana:"Wouldn't you like to know."

Clark:"What do you mean by that?"

Lana:"I heard you and Chloe talking about me in your loft the other day."

Clark:"No, Lana I would never say any of those things about you. I was talking about someone else."

Lana:"Are you sure?" You don't think I'm a ...freak>?"

Clark:"Never. If anyone knows what it feels like to be different, It's me."

Lana: "Are you saying you were effected by the metetor shower?"

Clark:"No, sortof. I'm not exactly from this planet."

Lana: "Right." (starts to chuckle) You've got to be the most down to Earth guy I know."(smiles)

Clark:(rolls his eyes) "Well, I didn't expect your reaction to be like this!" Maybe you're not ready for the truth."

Lana:(stops laughing)
"No seriously, what did you want to tell me?"

Clark:"I'll show you."


(in the caves)

Lana:"Clark, why did you bring me here?"

Clark:"There's more to these caves than you think."

Lana:"What do you mean?"

Clark:" I can't read this, but I'm trying. It's important. They were written by my ancestors,Lana."

Lana:"Your ancestors were Native Americans?"

Clark:"Lana, do you know who wrote these?''

Lana:" I thought... no I guess not."

Clark: "Do you really want to know?"

Lana:"Yes. You can tell me anything."
She looked depply into his eyes as if she knew he could read her mind.

Clark:Puts his hand through her raven hair and brings her closer.

Lana: Closes her eyes and lets the hairs on her arm stand up.

CLARK: Whispers in her ear, "Lana, will you promise you'll try to understand? Will this bring us closer?"

Lana:"I think so. I'll try. Weren't you the one who told me that you have to take risks when...."
(she stops to look in his eyes. She wants to kiss him, but she's not sure.)

Clark:"Lana, I meant what I said earlier. I am from another planet, but that doesn't change my feelings for you."
(he hugs her and waits for her response)

Lana:"Clark, I don't know what to say. I have to think about this. I'll talk to you later."
(she walks out of the cave)

Clark stands alone in the lonely darkness as he watches Lana leave.

"I'll miss you, Lana."

Clark is still obviously upset and he sleepily walks downstairs from the loft and drags himself into the kitchen.
' I wonder if it was a mistake to tell Lana. I thought she could finally understand me and what has happened. What if I've lost her forever?' he thought to himself as he sat down at the table. He never felt lonlier than he did now. If he lost her forever, he felt he would have nothing else to live for, but do chores.

Martha and Johnathon walk down the steps.

Martha:"Clark, what's wrong. You've been so quiet lately."

Johnathon:"You know you can tell us anything Clark."

Clark:"Everything's fine. Trust me."

Martha whispers to Johnathon ,"He's never lied to us before. This is really bothering him. Go talk to him."

Johnathon nodds.
"Hey Clark, Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Clark:"Sure."
They both walk into the living room and sit down.

Clark:"What did you want to talk to me about Dad?"

Johnathon:"I know you're lying Clark. You know exactly what I want to talk to you about."

Clark got nervous.
"I had to tell Lana! I thought that if I did, we could finally be togther! I was wrong. Now she hates me!
Clark walks away and a tear falls gracefully down his cheek. He whipes it away, but not in time for his father not to see it.

Johnathon is suprised, that wasn't what he wanted to talk to him about.

Johathon: "I know you're upset son,but you can't let this ruin your life."

Clark: "She's so important to me dad." I love her. You can't expect me to get over this too quickly!"
Clark runs upstairs to his loft.

Johnathon walks back into the kitchen. Martha looks concerned.

Johnathon:"He told Lana, she must be ignoring him."

Martha: (Gasps)
"He shouldn't have told her! It's hard enough for Pete! Poor Lana has been through so much, she can't handle this."

Johnathon:"There has to be a reason he told Lana. We have to trust him, Martha. If she's as strong as Clark believes, she'll be fine."

Martha:"Do you think there's anything we can do?"

Johnathon:"I think we should wait. He's pretty strong too."

Martha:(embraces John)

(that day at school)

Pete:"How you doing Clark?"

Clark:"Not so good. Lana's been ignoring me."

Lana:(sees Clark and walks by quickly)

Clark:"I have to go."
walks over to Lana.

Lana:"Hey Clark."

Clark:" Hi. Listen Lana, I'm sorry I freaked you out the other day.
He puts his hand in hers.

lana: (pulls away)
"I don't know what to say. I'm scared."

Clark:"I'm sorry I've scared you. Goodbye Lana.
(kisses her on the cheek)
"I think it's best If I just leave you alone."

Lana:"Wait Clark....

Calrk:"lana, I love you more than life it'self, but I can't live with you scared of me."

Lana:"You...you still love me Clark?"

Clark:"Yes, more than anything."

Lana:"I had no idea." She puts her hand upon his cheek tenderly.
"If..you would have told me earlier, I would have told you how I felt. No matter how afraid I am, I'm still in love with you too. I don't know why, it's just something about your smile, or your laugh,or ...

"There's not much more I can say, you shouldn't appologize. I have to go."

Clark: Lana, wait...
(he pulls her back to him by her hand and puts his hand upon her cheek)

Lana is so mesmerized that she can't pull away again. There's that certain something about him that makes her want to stay and never leave his side again. Something different that she never noticed before.

Clark gently presses his lips to hers and waits for her response.
Lana is no longer afraid. She trusts him now more than ever. So, she kisses him back and slips her dainty hand in his.

Lana:"I'll come by you're loft tonight. Maybe we can finally watch that sunset that we've missed."
She looks deeply into his eyes and brushes her hand on the side of his face as she turns to leave. Clark knows that this is only the beginning.
