Why the hell would anybody want to see 20 diff endings.
1,2 or 3 maybe but 20 is a bit extreme
supersteve187
05-23-2005, 06:02 PM
Are you joking...
The whole point of 20 different endings is that you dont get to see them all...your ending is somewhat unique based on your earlier actions in the game.
I think the 20 different ending idea is awesome!
Jellie
05-23-2005, 06:05 PM
Then you will think you are missing something and will end up repeating it over and over and your life will be taken over by Fable 3.
You mark my words
all jokes aside the game does sound very impressive

1,2 or 3 maybe but 20 is a bit extreme I agree what's the point? But aside from that matter, Fable 2 looks to be a real promiser. I'm sure it'll be a lot better this time around since you got the swimming feature.
Maybe some day down the orad, I'll buy an Xbox 360 and Fable 2.

The point of 20 different endings is this...
The ending of a video game is the most important part. It sums up the plot-line and brings a character to an ending in his journey or leads the way to a sequel. The ending of the game leaves the gamer with the final emotion that he experiences during his gameplay of that game.
With 20 different endings, the producers of Fable 2 have opened up a whole new level of gaming. Your actions during the game will lead you to one many endings; no more of this good ending/bad ending crap. Personally, I think the more endings the better. Now, the gamer has the option of going back and playing the game an entirely different way in order to achieve a different ending. Or, if they wish they can stick with their original ending and be satisfied with that.
Sure, in Fable 1 you could go back and beat the game as good if you had already accomplished the evil side of the game (as I did), but after that...the game is over! Now, the game certainly is not over as you can go back and beat the game 20 different ways. This extends the after-game play factor and is a smart, innovative move by Lionhead Studios.

Yeah but it's kind of repetetive. I mean it's the same game style, the weapons are pretty much the same, the fighting is pretty much the same, so it's kinda just like playing the game over and over again. I mean I get what you're saying but I tdont think what attracts me to this game are the endings, but rather the adjustments to the environment and other things.

The whole "20 different endings" thing isn't meant to be the main feature that attracts gamers into buying Fable 2. It's just a bonus and an innovative feature that has rarely been used in fantasy games in the past.
What will attract gamers that wasn't in Fable 1, and I doubt you'll disagree, is the longer playing time, shorter loading times, swimming & taking a ship to different islands, raising your own child, the improved combat system, etc.

Though I really am pushing the fact that they said that I'd only be 1/3 longer. They said that during an interview I think.
And if this is true it cant be that much longer. It'll be a good game regarless.

Yea, but its hard to argue with the facts on the game length...
Lionhead Guarantees game will take 4-5 times longer to finish than fable 1
I'm not sure where you got your info, but I got mine from teamxbox.com, and I seriously doubt they would publish false information.
DarkseidX
05-23-2005, 08:39 PM
They do it all the time. I got my info from the interview with the people at G4.
I remember gamespot and ign lied to us about the release of FF Advent Children.
They were like, "We gurantee FF AV on May 4" These punks are a bunch of liars. Some are accurate on their info others are not. I reallt dont think that info about the length is true.

Can you site a specific incident in which teamxbox.com posted false information?
If not, you have no evidence and should not be saying "they [lie] all the time"...
DarkseidX
05-23-2005, 08:46 PM
When I said "they" I meant game sites in general. I could care less about this teamxbox website.
supersteve187
05-23-2005, 08:50 PM
Well when I say "teamxbox wouldn't lie"
And then you reply with "they do it all the time", I can only assume you are refering to teamxbox.
But the answer is no, you cant provide a specific instance in which teamxbox.com posted false information, and for all you know, they never have and never will. You cant categorize all gaming sites into a group that you consider "liars". You really have no right to do that, not to mention that your wrong.
DarkseidX
05-23-2005, 09:13 PM
Wrong about them being liars? Not at all. I'm not saying they lie every time they write an article, but they do lie.
But most of them do. I dont care what you try to say to oppose that, they lie. Every once in a while, something exiting comes up that draws audiences, they make articles, but not all of them are accurate.
BTW I have the right to say what ever the h*** I want on this matter. YOU may not agree, but there are other people.
supersteve187
05-23-2005, 09:23 PM
Darkseid-
Enough of your unsupported, biased statements. The fact is this, you have NO evidence to support your claims. You dont even have to ability to cite a specific instance in which the "big-bad gaming site" (teamxbox specifically) lied to you or anyone else in one single article.
Maybe most gaming sites do lie, but I seriously doubt their "lies" are intentional, and I suspect they were misinformed by their sources in those few instances where they actually do publish falsh information.
Finally, no, you dont ahve the right to say whatever the hell you want on this matter. You can't claim that a website (www.teamxbox.com) lies and publishes false information when you have no evidence. Thats slander and I refuse to tolerate it.
Support your wild claims...or don't make them at all.
DarkseidX
05-23-2005, 09:26 PM
Why do you keep bringing teamxbox into this talk? I dont care how accurate this site is. In fact I haven't even been to this site!
Okay, you just admitted that sites do lie, whether or not they do it intentionally. The information still comes out wrong. Does it not?

I hope you realize how you just incriminated yourself in this whole matter. Darkseid...you claimed that teamxbox.com lied and I defended them. How could you claim they lied if you "haven't even been to this site"?
Perhaps you should stop making wild claims about websites that you have never been to, especially if you "dont care how accurate the site is" in the first place.
I keep bringing teamxbox into this talk because you attacked them. I am defending a website that you attempted to slander.
Information comes out wrong all over the world in every newspaper, magazine, or publication every day. This usually is not intentional, but sometimes is. I do not and will not, however, admit that gaming sites lie about game information because I have no evidence that they do. Neither do you, so stuff it.

That response says nothing in regard to the issues I brought up. If you feel that you are not competent enough to address them, then kindly say so.
You not caring about the website has nothing to do with anything we are discussing. Stop dodging the issue here, you b1tched about something with no evidence, I called you out, and you got mad. Seems to me like you dont really know what the hell your talking about.

I like the eyes they're cute, but when I said I didn't care, I meant I wasn't accusing your site. I could care less about this site and what it says. And how accurate it is.
So there. This argument is over, we were arguing about whether websites lie about their info. And we both said they do. Even if they dont mean to, they do. (we're excluding your site but if you want to include them I'm sure at one point in their time of being on the net, they gave some wrong information)<<<<This is an assumption, and I most definetly have no proof, but I'm sure it's happened.

You did accuse the site...stop lying. You just lied, how stupid of you. Go back and read your post, you clearly accused teamxbox of lying.
Stop avoiding the issues and ducking out of your lies and made up facts. You appear very ignorant and incompetent right now because of how you are holding yourself in this debate. Lies aren't going to win anything for you.
I never said those websites lie, you misinterpreted what I said. Stop putting words into my mouth. I'm not excluded my site, I'm saying that NO respectable gaming site lies constantly (ign, gamewinners, teamxbox, etc...)
You are wrong and were caught in a lie, if you want to end the argument ont that note, then very well.

Alright I generalized all the sites, and then you brought in your xboxteam site, then I said I could care less about what this site said or did. I didn't accuse your site of lying in the first page. Dont call me stupid. And I'm not lying.
And to my previous post, yeah I made an assumption, but an accusation? Nah. Again just let the xboxteam thing go. Just let go. I dont care about how honest or sinister this site is. Just leave it out. I dont care about it.

Here is what I really said...
"Maybe most gaming sites do lie, but I seriously doubt their "lies" are intentional, and I suspect they were misinforme by their sources in those few instances where they actually do publish false information."
There you go, I put the parts that make you look stupid for taking my quote out of context in bold.
I'm sure you'd love if I just let the teamxbox thing go. You cant cover up your lies you idiot, I know you lied, you know you lied...why let the issue go when you still wont admit that you lied? Yea I figured you'd want to just "drop the teamxbox issue".

I didn't lie about this but believe what you wish I'm done with this thread.
But before I go, I'd like to know one thing, Any additions to the character creation thing Fable 2?
supersteve187
05-23-2005, 10:35 PM
No need for me to believe what I wish bud, the evidence in on the last page.
To answer your question, all I know is what I listed earlier in the first post. I assume that by character creation you mean character development in terms of appearance (size, color, hair, tatoos, etc.), and yes, I have heard that this will be a lot more in depth in several articles that I have read. But I guess we will have to wait and see.
Screenshots for Fable 2 are supposedly going to posted tomorrow, and when they are I will post them here. Until then...

I'm not lying dude, I have no reason to lie to you. I have no reason to lie PERIOD. I dont care about what this site says or how accurate it says.
Now if I would've posted teamxbox lies then it would've been hard to really fight against my own judgement. But I really didn't care about the xboxsite.

More weapons? Anything cool added to the environment?
supersteve187
05-24-2005, 03:04 PM
Although no specifics have been released about the new weapons yet, we can safely assume more things.
First, my bet is that the weapon selection will be much greater. I liked the hero weapons in Fable 1 and I hope they have a lot more of those. Also, projectile weapons (bow and arrow, crossbow, etc.) will probably be used a lot more in Fable 2.
Concerning the environment...Well we already know that there will be Oceans and lakes that you can swim in in Fable 2. In fable 1 you could walk in deep puddles, but it was hardly swimming. Also, the fact that islands are in Fable 2 means that beaches will be as well!
I assume the island/ship systems will work out somewhat like morrowind where you can take a ship to wherever you want to go for a fee. I think thats a great idea because it eliminated walking/horse back riding time and allows the gamer to get a better feel for how large the in-game world actually is.

It was very easy. I'm hoping the second one will be harder and have a difficulty selection so that after you beat it on normal you can try it on hard if you wish.
Fable as a concept was amazing. Unfortunately, the creators did not have the time or resources to really make it as good as it should have been. I hope that with Fable 2, the creators really make an amazing game with better graphics, more playing time, a bigger map/world to explore, and a whole lot more weapons, magic abilities, clothing, and items than were in the first.
If the creators accomplished this, I believe that Fable 2 would have the potential to be on of the greatest RPG's of its time.
