Yeah it was similar to the way it was introduced in the movie. I mean the music was a dead give away.

It better be there. Knowing the Smallville producers, they might do something like have Jor-el's voice say "come back to this spot later. Later on in life this will be a spot of great importance to you" and then have Clark go home.

But I want to go on record saying if we don't see the Fortress of Solitude in the first episode of season 5, then this whole finale was a pointless waste.

I thought the throwing of the crystal and the ending music were a nice touch. It would have been nice to actually get a glimpse of the FOS, but I think the last scene as it played was actually a better close for the season.

If they showed something they would need all the effects, the earthquake the thing rising out of the snow. They'll turn it into a 5 minute CGI exstravaganze.

:lol: I was so expecting it lol. I thought the crystal was pretty. Hopefully we will see it I kinda do not want to have a Star Trek: TNG moment when Riker says "Fire"...comes to premiere Worf:It had no effect.

I'm pretty sure we will see the FoS.

The fortress will probably look very recognizable. I dunno if they want to change the FOS's crystal-like look but I hope they don't change it till it look something like Clark's barn.
At the very least, at one look, we should know it's the FOS.
I also heard that in comics, the FOS contain some Kryptonian animals, plants and artifacts. Wonder if we'll get to see that?

yeah, I'm totally psyched about seeing the FOS, i think he's going to learn more about flying there and then will start running his frequent flier miles up...:) it should be great!

Oh the FOS is going to be there 4 sho,, I think we might see the whole thing in the very 1st epp of Seas 5 (I hope) and that is sweet that Gough already said it will be very similar to the one in the movies

hopefully, Chole is involved somehow with the FOS. Also, Clark will probably become stronger and learn a couple of new moves. Hopefull,y he wont have to look for the stones that he threw :)

Finally saw the commercials for season 5's premeir, they show Clark in the FOS and it looks almost identical to the way that it looked in the movies.

Totally! I read elsewhere that it is that way definitely on purpose - in homage to the Christopher Reeve movies. I mean yeah, the music they used was hauntingly similar to the movie theme that starts out with the one horn playing the opening notes - like an intro just before the whole orchestra turns on and kicks ass! I'm not sure what that musical instrument is, in the movie, a horn or oboe... whatever, it was sweet!

How cool for the Smallville people to pay tribute to CR. Like at the end of S4E1 before the credits roll, they say something like: We will miss you. Thank you for making us believe a man can fly.

Now THATS class. Bravo Smallville!

God I love this program! It has all gone by too fast though. Why do I think S5 will move faster than a speeding bullet? Wouldn't it be cool if the final scene of the final Smallville ep is like the final scene of the first Superman movie? With Clark doing all the moves CR did? Reeve made flying believable the way he deftly maneuvered, controlling his direction, altitude and velocity.

Then in the very final frames, as Clark is flying high above the US below, watching over the skies, ensuring that we can all sleep sound tonight... with his hands clenched into fists, his arms stretched out in front, his trajectory is bringing him closer to the camera as he slowly looks down to his right, then to his left, then as he flys right at us - slightly off to our left - he looks directly into the camera and smiles as only Tom Welling can, and as if to say to all the good people of planet Earth: "Everythings gonna be alright. I have faith in you. Your species has so much Hope and the future is bright with promise - for ALL of you. For everyone!"
