I will get one when the price comes down.
The coolest thing has got to be the screen.
i just wish they were able to make the graphics even better than the ps2.

I got one. :D
How can the graphics on a handheld get any better? Its like less than a pound and the PS2 and Xbox are like 10 pounds each.

are you questioning the great minds of the tech developers out there ? of course the graphics WILL get better. it just takes time and i realize that.
the weight means nothing.
the disks themselfs are not actually dvds they are a newer format called UMD. they are tiny. almost like a cross between a cd and a cartridge.

it isnt out over here yet but when it comes out i will get it, they say when its released they will have somthing like 25-30 games released at the same time, this is cool cus usually u dont get a choice like that, the screen looks amazing it really puts nintento in its place with this 1, for the first time ever game boy has some real competition and sony can def produce the goods

yeah, nintendo must be crapping their pants. The DS does not compare to the psp. the DS looks like a kiddy toy.

Currently the best game available for PSP is the Puzzle game Lumines.

No way the best game is Wipeout Pure. Amazing visuals. Great level design. And tons of replay value with the online multiplayer. The single player is great and a good length for a handheld game.

Yeah I hear absolutely great things about Wipeout Pure. But the thing is, not a lot of people like the whole concept of "FUTURISTIC RACING"
They think it's kinda like a F-Zero wannabe.
Slade

Well F-Zero and Wipeout didnt come out too far apart from each other and Wipeout since the begining has been 3-D it was one of the first games ever to really bring 3-D to mainstream with the Playstation 1. It was 3-D and kicking butt while F-Zero was a 2-D game. Nothing against F-Zero but Wipeout blows it away

i play untold and it is totally awesome, my next game is going to be either wipeout or lumines. i've read good things about wipeout (plus i loved the original series) and everyone that i've talked to that has lumines is cursing it because it is so addictive and fun. so i'm stuck....
but i'd have to say that i'm extremely happy with untold. brings back fond memories of Diablo2

Ok here is the list and the order in which you should buy:
If your a Racing fan:
1.Wipeout Pure
2.Need For Speed Underground
3.Ridge Racer
RPG fan:
1.Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade
Sports Fan:
Wait for Fifa Soccer everything else sux.
Violence and Other violent stuff fans:
1.Twisted Metal
2.Metal Gear Solid Acid
and Lumines
OFFICIAL ORDER TO BUY THINGS:
1.Lumines
2.Wipeout Pure
3.Twisted Metal:Head On
4.Metal Gear Solid: Acid
5.Untold Legends
6.Need For Speed
7.Ridge Racer
8. Any of the sports games out right now (they suck big time)
My personal Reccomendations would aim for Twisted Metal for now. Untold legends which is the only RPG is so-so. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECCOMEND you wait for FIFA soccer which comes out April 5, 2005. It looks absolutely mindblowing.
O and dont buy Metal Gear Solid because it's not like the original. It''s kinda like a board game. And you use cards to move snake. Very stupid concept, not worth buying.
Need For Speed a waste of money.

All this talk about the new psp makes me want to go get one. I'm not really into racing or sports games though. Does the Grand Theft Autos and Tony Hawks on psp look any good on the small hand helds, I imagine they look pretty weird.
norris

Tony Hawk looks like ps2 quality, only a bit touched down, its really amazing graphics though.
Untold Legends is alot like Diablo2 and is a great hack and slash. The graphics are amazing and so is the gameplay, the only bad thing is the load times. although the music/sfx are repetitive, its really good stuff.
I hear Metal Gear AC!D is really really crappy. its like a cardgame with metal gear characters. if you get caught you have to draw certian cards (which are totally at random) to move and to unlock doors. also for fighting, you have no idea what you are going to draw so you have no idea how to plan your attacks. Its a cool game if you are a fan of tatical games/card games like that. or if you are a really really really big MGS fanboy. but from everything i hear, it would be your best bet to stay away.
Now i'm undecided between Wipeout Pure and Twisted Metal. i wanna play Twisted Metal online, but i wanna get wipeout for the browser hack and i really like the originial wipeout. so i'm stuck in a rut....

I still haven't purchased one.
Here is the main reason why:
Battery life!
I heard this puppy only runs for about 5 hours and that there are some games that will drain the battery faster than it can be recharged :\
Not really what i'm looking for in a portable device.
