Ok,I dont know if you have seen this number,555....
You know in every TV series or movie,it magically appears....
Whenever someone is going to make a phone call, they always dial 555 something else....why does this happen?
I know that the number 555 does exist in real life,I have seen it...
But why does it have to appear in every movie, every TV show?
Hey it has been seen also in Smallville! So,is this a continuity mistake?Do they do this on purpose? Why cant they dial a different number?
So,what do you think of the magical number 555?Have you seen it?
I dont know what kids do in the 50s!

because it's a generic number that appears on nobody's actual phone listing. people tend to want to call the numbers they see on screen... this way you can't reach anyone. or so i've been told.

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard the song "867-5309" kind of aggrevated a lot of people when it came out :p

All shows and movies use it because it's not part of a real phone number, period. People'd sue if they get called by a nutjob who watches too much TV.

In the original version of the film "Bruce Almighty" they used a phone number for "God" (Morgan Freeman) that belongs to several people in different area codes. Aparently these people got phone calls, and one of them was perturbed (one of them thought it was funny, though). I think they changed it for the DVD.

The most annoying phone number on the planet belongs to: Goldberg. 800. 600. 6-0-*-* (I know Maniac knows the last 2) much more annoying than any 555 number.
