Did anyone else notice how in the 2nd episode of Season 4, Clark fries a meteor freak? Yeah....what happened to all the talk about never killing anyone, bad or evil?

I do wish they found some way to have had him die without Clark using his heat vision because as you say indirectly Clark did kill him(with the help of Lois).

Gone. Well that guy was a killer/assassin/hitman and like the 2n'd terminator made of liquid metal. He was choking Chloe, Clark knocks him back then Lois come's in and fries the guy, and Clark fires the guy along with Lois.

He was metal, not human, the dialog between him and Lionel is key. His intent was to stop the guy and not kill. However, his morals were starting form in that season in particular, by season 8 they are moving towards the mythos of the character standing for a purpose. This liguid metal guy has returned to the element of metal, so he can't reform. Clark was shown going through the guy, I doubt he's dead. But forgotten nonetheless. His first intentional kill was with the alien killer who rather forced his hand which was Titan in combat.

Superman has killed, but never intentionally or maliciously and tries to avoid it at all cost. When he fired his eyes at the guy doubted he expected him to burst like that especially after he went through him, revealing he was all metal, like a machine.

I think you're probably right, Dominicus, although they didn't make it completely clear what happened to Trent. After all, Superman typically never uses his heat vision on another living being, but in all actuality, considering what he was made of, you're more than likely right that it wouldn't have killed him.

Another random Season 4 moment, but I think they guy who's more LIKELY to be dead is that dude who was threatening Bart in "Run" and who he THREW THROUGH THE ROOF OF THE BUILDING and didn't bother catching on his way back down, wherever he landed.

He was already dead, however he short-circuited after being turned into a machine. He could be revived the same way, its a glitch in the program. The one who really killed Wes is the one who altered him in the first place, Lex. Clark set him free, a machine with no will. The dialog was crucial in that as well, a mercy kill, euthanasia if you want to look at it like that. However, the truth is, Clark was fending off an attack, breaking a through a barrier which knocked Wes back, it did not kill him. His programming failed as it was already shown previously the project was deteriorating when he failed to kill Lois. Wes actually died in Afghanistan when he was badly injured and agreed to Lex's project

Yeah. I just think its funny how he'll kill those people, but refuse to kill a serial killer...built on destorying the world...and him. hmmmm

The difference is intent. When giving a choice naturally he would say no killing like with Chloe in Legion. However when attack/battling/defending it's liable to happen like with Brainiac, who's AI/humanoid. Clark's intent is not to kill. And he did not kill Wes, Wes's programing was alreadly shutting down and he did not want to be saved. There's even that guy with the Medusa touch in Forever, his own power was used against him. Titan is the first where we see he admitted the intent, but he eally had little choice, Titan would accept anything less, and he's still struggling his morals and how far should he go. But the difference is physically defending himself, or others, and the result is death. That's self-defense, and not intentional slaughter. He reacts out of danger, but when there's time to think, to make a choice, it's no killing.

yeh!!!... But it didn't mean too... he didn't even know that using his heat vision will kill that guy... Maybe he think it will just only melt him... since it is metal...
