According to this months DWM and http://www.sarahjanetv.blogspot.com/ Callum Blue soon to be seen as General Zod will be in SJA series 3. My guess is he shot SJA first but we'll see him in Smallville first, because US TV has a faster turnaround.

The episode he was in was filmed in about March/April if memory serves, but as for British TV series such as DW/TW/SJA they dont start airing till after the whole series has finished filming and then air them all usually in one unbroken run (it's the main reason british drama series tend to go for an absolute maximum of 14 episodes, simply, there isnt the time to film 22 eps).
