I am wondering if there are any people out there that think that Lois should've been brought into the show sooner or later. Me? I am glad that she showed up in Season 4 (it gave her and Clark some time to know each other), but I think that it might've been better if she showed up in the Finale for Season 4 and meets everyone after they graduate, and she and Clark go into Journalism class at College or came in in Season 5 and meets everyone there.

What do you guys think though?

Your idea sounded pretty good, I wish that happened.

i think she should have arrived in season 7, season 4 was way too early too introduce her seeing as her character was pretty useless (except for commencement) in season 4

I agree. I think Season 4 was way to early more like Season 8 would have been better.

We couldn't be expected that they'd fall for each other like that when they work at the Daily Planet though. If they would've pushed back her introduction, we might've seen Clois at Met U. ^-^

I think she came in at the right time. Seasons 1-3 were fantastic but I honestly could not imagine seasons 4-7 without her.

Lois Lane has bought that much needed energy into a show that's supposed to be about hope. Just take a look at some of the angsy and depressing storylines we've had over the last few years? Her character has given the show the much needed balance. In no way has she been useless though. The chemistry between herself and Clark has been electric and while she hasn't been at the centre of big storylines in the same way Chloe and Lana have, her journey has been great to watch. We've seen her evolve over the years to the woman we see today at the DP.

I dont understand why people always use the excuse that Lois came in too early. Does that mean Lex came too early too, even though he was there in the begginning? And most of those same people are always talking about how SV is an interpretation and does things differently. Lois did have a reason to come in- to build a relationship with Clark (remember? The main character of the story?) so she wasn't useless. IMO her coming in too early is often used as another excuse for people not to like her because they have nothing else to not like her for.

Definetly too early. Well it was fine for her to show up looking for Chloe but the situations they used to keep her there were contrived and ridiculous.

i said she was useless in season 4 honestly what did she do so amazing in that season? nothing, it was in season 5 that she had more of a story so she was useless in season 4. I always associate lois coming to smallville as to when it lost its direction im not saying shes bad (though im not fond of her),im just saying when she arrived the whole show took a major nosedive (putting it on the writers/producers/showrunners_

If it was up to me, I would only have used her for a handful of episodes in the entire series. Save the meat of their lives together for the post-SV time. As long as they knew who each other was that's all that was necessary. And don't tie her to Chloe either

Season 4 was the right time, I'm glad they never left it any later!
It wouldn't have worked if they had her in season 1-3!!

I agree. Season 4 was way too early for her entry. Other then perhaps a cameo in S4 (1 episode), I think Lois should have arrived around S7 (preferably second half). Lana should have ended in S4 and they should have shown the full college years instead of just doing it for half a season. :\ They could have even explored some mermaid love in the college years with some Luma or Lyla or Lasil thrown in. Perhaps even some Chlark on the side. Keep things fresh you know.

I think the first meeting between Lois and Clark should have been at Met U in a journalism class. Perhaps at a special lecture delivered by Pulitzer prize winning journalist Perry White. ;) Maybe they could have even worked on a report for their class/university paper together (neither of them actually wanting to be partners in the beginning). That would have been a better way to start off their story. :)

I would prefer to have seen her come on the scene after Clark grew up. The end of this season would have been perfect. IMO.

I didn't mind that she came in so early, but it would have worked for her have to left after that episode with the scene on the football field where Chloe watches Clark and Lois flirt to an Avril Lavigne song. It was perfect innocent chemistry that would showcase their future relationship.

Then, I would have had her return in season six having shown some character growth. At the same time Lana could be written out as the romantic lead for Clark (for good) and Clark and Lois could flirt some more while he realized Lana wasn't right for him. Ultimately, it could lead into the the first half of season 8, which I loved.

Of course, Lois has always been my favorite character, so I don't mind them having her in the show so early and staying around.

I could see this working nicely.

However, I really have no complaints with her being brought in as Chloe's cousin to investigate Chloe's "murder." It wasn't forced or had to be written in, it seemed like a natural order of events.

I don't think season 4 was too soon. I just wished that she had been more involved in seasons 6 and 7.

I think so...

But I change my mind after they show the 1st episode... I'm glad that they did... SV became better upon Lois showing up...

no way... she completely brought a ray of happiness to the show :) her scenes with Clark are electric and some of the funniest I've ever scene.. I dig banter .. .besides - if Lex is there... then it's totally ok for Lois to be there .. imo

Nah I defo don't think it was too early to introduce Lois at the beginning of season 4, she brought great energy and vitality to the show when she did come, it was great to see her. And I LOVE SV's take on that Clark and Lois meet before he becomes Superman, its never been done this way before and their journey has been sooo unique and intriguing from the word go that I'm sooo glad they did their own take on it and it worked out pretty DARN BRILLIANT IMO. SV's Lois and having her meet Clark at high school age is just sooo interesting, that SV's CLOIS is my favourite incarnation of it ever :D:D:cool:.

No, Lois' entrance to SV was not too soon....Lana's exit just wasn't soon enough IMO.

This. Lana should have stay in Paris. Think about all the storylines that we would live without: the witch arc, Clexana, the kryptonite suit...

i voted no because i thought the timing was right. the only thing i could say is that i wish Lois and Clark started a fling in Season 4, i would've liked to see that. i dont know, like maybe love at first sight or something

I personally think it was the right time, but they should have started the fling in S4 and love in S5.

SV worst mistake was having Clana way to long & having Lois linger watching it.

In the context of SV YES.

I've have posted about this before.

It took 3 seasons for Al/Miles to get Lois on SV and with all the restrictions put on the charactor of Lois at the time, i.e. no hint of romanance between her and Clark, they did not know what to do with her.

So they made her a non-virgin, hard drinking, ex-smoker and a muffin peddling college drop out.

As a life long Lois Lane Fan, this was had to take.

I think the timing was great, but maybe she should have stayed in high school with Clark, Chloe, and Lana...
