The survival of an entire civilization ? Kandor ?

After seeing Tess following the instructions of the orb, i wonder if the survival of the civilization she mentioned wasn't about mankind but about Krypton. Is it possible that Clark fulfilling his destiny may lead him to save Kandor after all?? Of course this may turn out to be a lie because we don't know who exactly is controlling that orb.

But it was Kara who was going to Kandor, i thought that she would be back as the character that no one knows about. But alas, Laura said that she isn't coming back.

Yes Kandor was mentioned as an explanation for her absence. It was nowhere near hinted that it would serve in any other purpose...
