Was it the real Lois who called Clark 6 times or Chloe-in-Lois who called him 6 times?

It was real Lois. Chloe only woke up in the morning in Lois' body. Lois flew out the night before.

Real Lois. If it was Chloe!Lois than Chloe wouldn't have been surprised/upset upon hearing that information.

Duh! This is why you should watch the episode before commenting/questioning on it. The episode made it obvious.

For your information I did watch it when it was on 4 hours ago. Once I saw there were 2 Lois'es--or is it Loii :)--I was confused as to which one called him.

What I don't get is if she's trying to sweep the previous events under the rug, why call him 6 times? I think that confused me. Calling someone 6 times sends a signal that you're a stalker or are very desperate.

They might have very well been work-related. So I think that's a bit presumptuous.

It very well may have been work-related, but it does seem a bit excessive. And please don't be derogatory to other posters for whom the issue may not have been so clear, okay? After all, I thought I was watching pretty closely, and I'd thought they said that it was CLARK who had called LOIS five times, so I guess I was mistaken, too. I still say that both Clark and Lois could have afforded Chloe a single phone call, Clark to wish her a verbal birthday greeting, and Lois to say again that she's sorry she couldn't stay for Chloe's whole party.

But I thought Lois was in Mexico while Clark was off somewhere else with Bart according to Oliver. I would think Lois wouldn't rely on Clark if she was in Mexico & had no idea where Clark was.

I think it says a lot though that Clark would make the time to answer Lois's phonecalls even though he was so busy..and for 6 times nonetheless.

But still, I thought she was away somewhere (at least on the flight). Why call Clark if she thought he was in Kansas? I expected Clark to fire a comeback line about that after he found out that it wasn't Chloe-Lois who called him but real Lois. Perhaps something about his number being in her speeddial or wearing out his number by speeddialing him so much. Some nice back-forth banter would have been nice.

Well she does have to let him know she's going out of town, that's one call. She probably called him when she boarded, call 2. another call when she was in mexico thats three. allow three more calls for lois just being lois and there you go.

Clark said that Lois called him "five times from the airport, once from the plane." We didn't get any context as to those phone calls, just that she called him six times.

I took it to be completely work related and she was calling so many times because it was urgent to talk to Clark.

Maybe she found out about Clark's plane troubles from last week and wanted to avoid the same.

I think that is part of Lois acting normal. Getting a great lead and getting sent out of town would be a big deal to her. She would totally in the past have called him and bragged about it and rubbed it in his face. Can't you imagine her telling Clark that's how "real reporter's" get the scoop. Bugging and annoying him is her acting normal. If she would have avoided him or not talked to him, that would show that something was wrong and he meant more to her.

It's just weird since last week & most other weeks she's not in an episode, he didn't get a single call from her.

^LMAO. I guess when we don't see Lois in an epi we're just supposed to assume she is around offscreen in Metropolis and is annoying Clark as needed, we're just not seeing it since ED is only signed for what 12 episodes or something?

I don't know, six calls...regardless of people I work closely with or not is a ton. Plus if you don't want to deal with people, you email or text, not actually take the time to make and place calls. That's beyond Lois being Lois and really wanting to talk to Clark...even under the guise of work related calls...or whether they were talking about Chimmy at that point as well...

The one thing I could think of though is Lois gets angry in the middle of a conversation hangs up, collects her thoughts and then calls back to continue the argument?

Or she was probably berating him for missing Chloe's birthday lol... that sounds like something she would do anyway.

Besides Lois calling him 6 times, there was another example of Lois letting her guard down and showing interest in Clark. There was a scene where Lois brings up how Clark stood her up. We saw in Infamous that Lois lied about chasing a lead so that Clark wouldn't know that she was waiting for him at the cafe, though we know that Clark did know since he was off in the distance. Why would she bring up Clark standing her up when she made it a point to pretend that she wasn't at the cafe waiting for him? There seems to be a writing disconnect.

I know, but why did Lois bring up that he stood her up? In Infamous, she made it a point to make Clark think she was chasing a lead with that message she sent him.

Exactly my question.Unless if she meant that Clark was the one who called the date off first.

It was real Lois who called Clark 6 times from the airport last night.
I only wish we knew what she had to say.
This is the reason that I think Lois still has feelings for Clark even though she is trying to hide them from him.
Did you see the strange look on her face at the end of the episode when she was walking away from Clark at the DP to go on her date.

My guess is that's due to them being out of sync. She thought he wasn't interested in her and she didn't hold herself back from accepting the date. But to her surprise, Clark did show interest and I think she was disappointed that now that he's showing interest, she has other plans.

someone wrote a 1-shot in the Clark & Lois fan fic section in regards to the 6 calls, very well done and very funny...worth a read if you enjoy "offscreenville" fan fics:

she was upset because he skiped the Chloe's party, He said something like I thought you said all yesterday, and after that he started to talk abouth Chloe and Jimmy problems and how he like to know the 2 version of the story....and IMOP she probably was berating for not contact Chloe's and said personally Happy birthday .... that for me sounds like something she would do anyway.. remmeber she is soo bossy and picky

I think offscreenville Lois is fond of the drink! And probably the reason why she kept calling Clark. (drunk dialing) We've seen her drunk a couple of times already! Funny how at the end, she coerces Clark to have a beer with her!

Someone spec'ed that the 6 phone calls were when they talked/fought about Chimmy. When Chlois shows up at the DP, Clark tells her he can't imagine she had any more to say after last night. He also calls her on her not-so-hidden attitude because she's still mad he's taking Jimmy's side over Chloe's. So those phonecalls might've been about that.

Vergon6
03-30-2009, 04:55 AM
No, it was definitely between the real Lois and Clark. Listen to the dialogue again. Chloe is surprised about the 6 phone calls and I believe she also couldn't believe he had time to talk to Lois on the phone 6 times but not call her once on her birthday.

:rotfl:Well I think the fact they talked 6 times during the night speaks volumes about how they really feel about each other, even if they are both trying to deny it right now to avoid getting hurt.

It was actually Lois who called Clark 6 times as Clark pointed out when he was talking to Chlois. What I don't get is why she called him so many times. If she's staying guarded, then why not only call him once or twice at most? I wonder if he picked her up from the airport again. Something tells me no, otherwise they would have had most of that exchange in the car.

It was the real Lois who called 6x, and it's probably about a combination of the reasons posted above: Lois bragging about her new assignment; delegating work since she's out of the country for a day or two; ordering him to do other work-related chores for her; arguing about taking Jimmy's side; busting his chops for not attending Chloe's party; forcing him to go to Chloe's party right that minute since she herself have to leave; and it's typical Lois!!

I think it was made by writers just as a funny moment in that epi style:), to show us that Lois is Lois...like the all thing about the rules in frame, it was as clueless and funny as that 6 calls, and it was SO "Clark is Clark", IMO...:)

and I think it also shows their close friendship and how comfortable they feel around each other even if they confused about that sparks things:)))))))))))))
