I was not sure about that, because if he was tracking her, why didn't he ask for help to chloe????

why would he be tracking her? he seems to trust her a little bit.
maybe he was just researching her, like when you google someone.

I thought he was watching police announcements, like where/when to go save people

I think that Clark would like to know more about Tess because she poses a threat to him if she really does know his secret. It is the old adage:

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will fight without danger in battles.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

He was looking up information on her and then he had like a police blotter type tracker that had nothing to do with Tess that went off so he knew it was time to get 'suited up' so-to-speak.

At first I thought he was tracking her because the following scene was of her meeting the pilot at the mansion, but then that wouldn't make a lot of sense and going back to re-watch I realised what was going on.

I think Clark was trying to do some homework on Tess, which is a great thing for him to do. Its smart, its proactive, and it shows that he's not just taking her word for things. I think Clark would like to think the best of Tess, but he's appropriately cautious, and I think him doing some research (and not having anyone do it for him) was exactly the right move to make.

I don't think he was researching her at all. I'm sure her and Clark's survival made the front page of most newspapers, so he probably just logged on and that screen came up. You know when you log on to AIM, the news pops up.

I love you BT! *hugs*

This is what I was thinking too.

Yay Clark!

I didn't get from his scenes with Tess that he was being naive at all, but he's Clark Kent he is going to try and see the good in her but he's also had some experience with trusting the wrong people before and I think he is getting smart about that. Looking into Tess at the end of the episode was proof of that, I thought, because he isn't as naive as Chloe feared he was.

He's being really intelligent this season and very pro-active. Not counting that terrible Lana-arc of course. I don't want to seem like a push over either, that I can easily forget that, but I feel like Clark is getting back on track and I really liked him tonight and last week as well. He is doing his own work, but also listening to his friends but not in a way where it seems like they are leading him by the hand anymore. Oliver and Chloe's suggestions are now just that, suggestions and I love how he is incorporating that into his own decisions. He also has been standing his ground a lot more too, like with Chloe's suggestion of leaving the Planet and putting aside his red jacket for now. He wasn't willing to do that, but also had enough sense to look into Tess at the end as well.

I don't think he'd really started digging though, but he was looking at the available information on the surface and that's great.

ITA

last Tess' words to clark about the she is not Lex because of she is runnig the Corp and living in the mansion... Sound more similar to Lex's words in the past, when he was trying to convince Clark that he is not as Lionel!!!

It looked like Clark was writing an article about the plane crash they both were in.

I agree Kschreck. It did look like he was writing an article. I cann't remember the exact title, but it was along the lines of "Reporter and CEO Survive Plane Crash." Also, if I remember correctly, there was still an open spot on the page for a photo or something. Also, while he was working on the article, some kind of crime alert popped up on the screen (just like earlier when Tess toyed with Clark about his backpack). Then Clark did his phonebooth change.
