shhhh! You're not supposed to ask.
I believe Widmore's men got to Kate..or Kate gave up Aaron to Claire's Mom..what's her name?.

Whatever happened to Aaron - it was sure and absolute. That is why Kate was so willing to go back to the island. If Aaron were just kidnapped or missing or something I think Kate would be looking/fighting for him rather then going back.

why does aaron not count as one of those who got off the island?

No idea. But I'm sure Claire's ghost (or whatever) appeared to Kate and convinced her to go back to the island. I can't remember when, but I'm sure Claire has already appeared once to Kate since she got off the island and warned her not to bring Aaron back. I would have to rewatch the episode, though..

He does count as one of the Oceanic 6, but I'm sure the pilot takes Aaron's place in this case. I mean, he got off the island, too, didn't he?

The real answer? There's no reason for babies to be on the island.

Maybe somebody (one of Ben's cronies?) kidnapped Aaron and told Kate that he would be killed if she didn't return to the island.
I think blackmail would be the only reason for Kate to suddenly change her mind and go back to the island without Aaron.

Yeah. I loved how they answered some questions this week (why no one was able to find the island because it was moving, how Dharma found the island) and also brought up 3 questions. 1.) What happened to Ben? 2.) Where is Aaron and why did Kate agree to go? 3.) How did Hurley and Sayid know where to go?

1.) Ben got beat up by Sayid, who was then arrested, and then arranged by Ben to be deported to, err, Guam?
2.) Aaron was kidnapped by a blackmailer (see my last post)
3.) Hurley had another visit from a dead person who told him where to go...maybe Charlie? Remember the guitar?

I don't think Sayid beat up Ben. There's no way he could beat him up and then get on a plane a day later with an escort. I have no idea what happened to Ben or what's up with Sayid. The Hurley theory is a good one. Although it's impossible for that to be Charlie's guitar, he could've given Hurley the idea.

True, but just a few days ago (Lost/Los Angeles time) Sayid was at the docks with Jack, Sun, and Ben. He was a free man. He walked away and said "I'll have no part of this" How did he get arrested so quickly and how did he get put on a plane so fast? The wheels of justice move much slower than that. That is why I think Ben had something to do with it.

On the plane, his face was all beat up and he had his arm in a sling. Someone put a whippin on him! You could be right, though. He did have a hit out on Penny. Desmond or Penny's bodyguards could have beat up Ben.

Well, this is a network TV show. There's a limit to how much blood you can show

He was at a boat dock..or whatevr. You could see some boats or whatever in the back ground I believe. He must've gone after Penny and perhaps Widmore's men or Desmond stopped him. Desmond has to return to the island aswell. Though he may have to go by boat...seeing as how that's how he got there to begin with.

Haha, but Beat-Up-Ben threads are so much fun! Only half-kidding... Anyway, I think the most nice and possibly likely reason is she gave him to Claire's mother -- that'd give her something to live for and a lot more hope than she had for a while. Otherwise, I don't really want to speculate what may have happened to him... Poor Aaron. I hope they resolve that mystery by the end of the season, and in a positive way. It'd be great to see him get reunited with Claire...

I don't know if this storyline has already played out. But I was watching Claire's introduction/flashback episode from season 1. She had gone to a psychic who told her that she was the only one who could raise her baby. That her good will and spirit would keep the child safe. And if anyone else were to raise him it would lead him down a dark path. It had the psychic all stressed out and scared for him. So could that have played a part in him being left behind or Kate's vision of Claire telling her not to bring Aaron back ?

I think there's 2 reasons. 1.) Claire is not raising Aaron and that could mean trouble for Aaron. 2.) Like how Daniel told Charolette not to come back, maybe if Aaron comes back, his life could be in danger.
