I thought that Smallville brought powerful irony to us last night. And to those who don't agree with the way it happen, I thought it was a powerful way to say goodbye rather than a mundane simple farewell. IMO good writing.

The irony is the one Clark loved the most literally became his greatest weakness.

I think they already showed that she has been his one of his greatest weaknesses for awhile. In Labyrinth he admitted he was almost ready to give up everything to be with Lana. I think he said that to Chloe.

But, you know Clark. He needs things spelled out pretty literally for him to get the lesson. :)

Yes, but I mean literally and physically his greatest weakness.

Yes, that is what I meant, too. I agree.

They took the whole necklace thing to completest extreme.

You call it irony, I call it just comedy sent out by the universe. :)

Yes. I saw that, too. I thought that scene was brilliant. It totally foreshadowed what was going to happen in the end.

Your opinion but a great playback and retrospective to the beginning of Smallville where she was his physical weakness. By the way, I didn't even notice, but the necklace thing totally foreshadowed the end!

I loved the foreshadowing. I was watching it like, "Oh, something bad is going to happen..."

And that Lana is the Kryptonite of the show she ends up becoming one....weird.
