I think that it was Lex. It's pretty clear that he's trying to destroy Clark's life from a distance. Of course, why Lex doesn't think to kill Clark using kryptonite at this point is beyond me.

But how did he know how to reprogram the crystal?I think PS3's inexperience as writers for a whole season(as opposed to single episodes) is starting to show.They have left one or two unanswered things.X is one.How and when Tess and Reagan found Lex is another.People are talking about the Lana overload,but inconsistencies such are these are more significant reasons for the downfall of a show.

It's clear that Brainiac was only affecting Chloe's personality at that point, he was only ever fully in control of her body in "Legion". So, to put it simply, Chloe's motivation of protecting Clark's secret + Brainiac's evil nature = dead Sebastian.

I'm not sure who you're talking about when you say "they", so no comment there. And I'm sure the identity of X is going to be revealed at some point in Lana's (thankfully) final episode, "Requiem".

You know Matt what i thought?Maybe the crystal got reprogrammed accidentily when Grohl was conducting his experiments.So if Lana is X,she sent to him without knowing what it would do.Boy,is it really so hard for PS3 to insert 3 minutes of dialogue in an episode to clarify this situation?

I have many questions myself.From what i figured after Power,the message at Bride was from the trainer.Since he was inside the mansion,he also must have told her about the e-mails Tess was getting from Lex.That's why she ended up in South America.Somewhere along the way we forgot about X but what else is new?
