Count down to the January 7 episode here, and then discuss it with other fans as it airs! (Come on, don't let this section of the forum die)

a story well driven by actual plot and tension, not boobs in bikinis, and the most threatening villain to date. impressive

I agree, best episode to date. I'm surprised they had it in them. (Loved the "Speed" like villain, and I liked how they made it clear it was an homage and not a ripoff by doing the speed-bomb thing at the end.) Guess they really are planning on changing things, thank goodness. Is this the first "transition" episode, given that they finally killed off that horrible fbi character/actress? Keep them killin's coming! Who's next on the chopping block? lol
And was it just me or were the intro credits new? Was this the first time they used those (or that)? I find it funny that it included actors/characters that apparently won't be around much longer. What's the deal with that, lol...

Its a pity that KITT used up absolutely all of his non lethal weaponry before he was in the Sugar Mill with every one of the bad guys and Mike and Ambassador chick surrounding him. He could have knocked them all out with a gas or something (even if Mike and the girl could have been knocked out) and then arrested by Carrie's team when they arrived minutes later.
Oh well.

It just seemed like a plot hole to me.
Anyway it's funny how this ep had almost zero Zoe interaction, the Pam Anderson clone that helped give this show the horrible V.I.P. vibes I've complained about. They seemed to make an actual effort to lessen the camp/cheese factor in this ep, which when coupled with mindless action and endless sexual overtones (and characters/actresses like Zoe) recreates the braindead V.I.P. experience in almost every way.
And oh yeah, Rhonda from Melrose Place Season One was "Ambassador Olara". lol...when she was talking with Mike early on, I half expected this to happen:
Olara: Who...who are you.
Mike: A friend.
Olara: Matt? Is that you?
Mike: No.
Olara: Billy? ....Jake?
Mike: No, my name is Mike.
Olara: Mancini?
Mike: NO.
Olara: Sorry...I just miss Melrose Place.

I liked it. The bomb thing bugged me since they've already shown KITT covering a bomb in an earlier episode. We know the original KITT could probably handle the bomb no problem. They need to say in the show weather the new KIIT can or not.

Sarcasm doesn't work in text unfortunately, I was trying to say that it was a massive plot hole that he didn't do anything to stop the bad guys.
Oh well.

^yeah I had a feeling you were just being sarcastic, heh. And I had a feeling you'd respond back letting me know. lol When I'm joking around/being sarcastic, I usually throw in a few "lol"s for good measure. Then there can be no doubt. lol Plus for all I knew they DID say Kitt ran out of weapons and I just missed the explanation.
But yeah, huge plot hole/goof. It made no sense. A shame given how good the ep was otherwise.

It's not just a regular old, run of the mill bomb. It's working with the idea that you could make a Hafnium bomb aka dirty bomb with uhh "charged" Hafnium and bombarding it with X-Rays resulting in a massive release of radiation and energy. It's something that still hasn't been proven to actually work in the real world.
The original KITT had his limits too and there was an episode where Michael had to get way out of the city to dump a bomb that KITT couldn't handle the explosion of.

Which episode are you thinking of out of curiosity? I remember one where he had to get out of the city, but I remember KITT still handling it in his trunk. I do remember them saying KITT couldn't do that type of thing many times, but KIIT always did.
Also, with the new KITT he covered a bomb a few episodes back. Didn't they say the bomb would take out the whole city. I don't remember the line exactly, but that was the impression I got. They did say the halfnium bomb was thought to take out a ten mile radius didn't they? I don't live in a huge city, but here I'm fairly certain ten miles wouldn't be the whole city. So unless they greatly underestimated it's yeild, wouldn't it make sense that if KITT could take out a bomb that would take out a city just a ten mile radius wouldn't be as hard.

after knight fever i was surprised about the big error in this episode. Here we have KITT with a nifty emp generator thingy and a bomb that is made of an ELECTRONIC microscope.
need i calculate the writers options....:rotfl:
Other that that this episode finally is getting to a point where this series needs to go.
1 man can make a difference!!

They said that 1g of hafnium would take out ten miles, but there was more than that in the box.

Oh ok. I miss interpreted then. They did say it was three grams in the box. I wasn't sure if they had given the estimate for one gram or the three.

I thought the last episode (Knight Fever) was great, but this one was way better! If the improvements continue, this Knight Rider will be incredible. I (of course) already enjoy KR more than any other current TV show, but if the improvements continue and viewers/critics give it a second chance, it could be a hit for NBC. I really hope they give it a chance and I do realize there were many problems with the early episodes but the improvements have been substantial and the official re-boot/re-vamp hasn't even started yet.
Oh, and please keep "KITTSite" around as long as Knight Rider is airing. If the show can improve its viewers then I think there will be more posters here. I know I do not post often but I do read from KITTSite, KRYPTONSite, TERMINATORSite and HEROESite. This is a great network and I hope more people start to post here on KITTSite but I am sure there are many people (like me) that read more than post.

Am I the only one who thought of kitt having to drive over 100 miles per hour and not slowing down is just like the movie speed just this time its a supercar and not a bus.

this episode was so lame i didn't even want to visit this thread. Well, we are waiting for the new episode so I thought what the heck, and then I see people praising it like it's the best episode to date. Man, this episode SUCKED, and people already said the reasons.
It is too much like Speed. Not just too much, the whole part about staying above what ever speed is exactly like speed. And it wasn't really that important, so why did they rip off a movie for it? Couldn't the dude rigged it so that if KITT doesn't reach a certain location in a certain time the bomb would go off to get the same effect?
The fact that KITT has all those weapons and couldn't stop the bad guys from leaving the room to get Mike is just retarded. Don't tell me he ran out. So if he ran out of gas, he still has lasers. He could of sealed the door, or just shoot everyone in the leg or something. Even after Mike was captured, KITT could have done something.
This wasn't good writing, it was horrible. And suddenly there is no T&A? are you kidding me? what did you think the 3 Russian spies were? Serious masterminds? Just becuase it wasn't a swim suit makes it not T&A? You gotta be fraking kidding me.
So they changed the Opening Title, and this is the "restart", I liked that they did give Mike and KITT a little more time together without interference, but the writing isn't what it used to be. The T&A isn't poor writing, when the story makes no sense, makes you tilt your head and say "why didn't they just do that", that's poor writing.
That is also one of the reasons why they shouldn't have given KITT too many weapons and Uber-tech. Because then they could always brute force their way through everything. Then when the writer decides not to use the techs, Mike and KITT would look like idiots.
