I voted for Brainiac because he is the puppet master pulling all the strings since he knows everything about Clark & Jor-El which is a major disadvantage for Clark.

HOWEVER: before Brainiac showed up in season 5, and even in later seasons I thought Lana was his greatest weakness...until Clark gets completely over Lana. Lana is Clark's greatest threat in season 8= Possibly the whole series and I was a clana fan in the early seasons. Clark can really never become Superman until Lana is out of the picture. That's why it's Lois and not Lana.

I kind of think The Return of Lana should be here. Because I have some serious doubts about TPTB ability to write Clark as well as he's been written this season once Lana is back on the scene. I hope they'll prove me wrong, but for me, this is probably the biggest threat to Clark's characterization.

Doomsday and Brainiac...then Lex. I wouldn't consider the return of Lana a threat for the season, since she's only in four more episodes. She'll be long gone and Clark will still be facing off with Doomsday/Brainiac, possibly even Lex as well.

I'm sorry, but I don't feel anything suspenseful nor threatening about Doomsday. As I've said in other threads, He comes, he hatches a scheme, Clark defeats him, he leaves.

However, there is something at least a little chilling about him utilizing Chloe's body. It's somewhat morbid, add that to the complex connection developing between Chloe/Brainiac/Doomsday and it's pretty riveting.

I actually think that if the writers add more substance to Doomsday's character, it might just follow through correctly and make it to the season finale. Supes Doomsday was killing machine 101, no substance, all he did was kill. That was the end of it. Some more depth, more history, and possible more Chlavis vs. Chlark vs. Chloiac on Doomsday's and Brainiac's pathway, and the arc might just play out correctly.

I picked Brainiac because I think he can manipulate Doomsday. And Chloe, too, it looks like.

Brainiac and Doomsday make sense because 1. Brainiac has control of the fortress and 2. doomsday can kill Clark.
But I'm gonna have to go with Lex here. Although MR is probably not going to show up this season, Lex is still out there and he knows lark's secret. The most dangerous enemies are the ones you can't keep see and right now Lex is invisible making him even more dangerous than before.

I just hope for a couple of kick ass episodes that make Doomsday into a supercool villain.

Plus that the Chloiac arc is sensibly dealt with and that these writers earn their pay unlike those who wrote last seasons lousy conclusion to the Veritas arc!

Also haven't Zod & Therora already kinda been dealt with and Doomsday is their legacy???

As to the poll option I'm going for Doomsday, with Tess second (remember she's forming the Legion of Doom, who should also be in this poll) I think they'll solve the Chloiac arc with the next episode Legion but... Brainiac will obviously be Clark's biggest threat in the long term i.e. Season 9 and onwards???:\

I voted Brainiac.

Because, Clark's greatest power is his humanity, but it's also his greatest weakness.

Brainiac can manipulate and get to Clark through his compassion and caring. We see this in the Legion trailer.......Go on.....kill me! We know he won't kill Chloe, and so does Brainiac.

Doomsday is much later in the mythos, so I'm not as worried about him, although it's been very interesting to say the least this season having Davis/DD present.

With the possession of the fortress, which as we all know is the ultimate deus ex machina, Brainiac has to take it. Where as Doomsday is big and scary strong, the fortress can take Clark's abilities, bring people back from the dead, travel through time, bestow kryptonian abilities on humans, and can do this all from any distance...
