So, I'm thinking they're not going to kill Kara, & they're not going to bring her back to the show, so what will they do with her? They're not going to just leave her in the Phantom Zone, will they? Maybe they'll send her a thousand years into the future to join the Legion of Superheroes...

He didn't even tell her he loved her and vice versa. It was so lame.

I really enjoyed LV's scenes tonight, i became a supporter of the character after that, considering tptb didn't really do much with her last year

I have a feeling she'll pull a martha kent...she's around, and we know where she is, but we never see her. Sad face is imminent!!

I thought the Kara scenes were great. I love how Clark did not want to leave her alone in the phantom zone. He said "You are my home, Your my family, You make me feel like I belong" that was awesome. I knew he would not leave her there. The writers left her on a quest to find Kandor in a bottle. I want to see more of Kara in Smallville. I hope they put Kara in more episodes.

Also loved how Kara had the S symbol or the house of El family crest around her neck and when she told Clark that she will keep him close to her heart.

The Kara/Clark scenes were AMAZING! I loved the family sweetness...It's been a while since we've had that on SV...It was refreshing and nice :)

LV was wonderful...I'm going to miss her..

This was by far my favorite writing of Kara. I loved her in this episode.

Rather makes me wish they'd introduced her this season, when they seem to have more of a handle on Clark's character, because then I think they would do what they SHOULD have done last season and have Clark act as a mentor to her, teaching her how to use her powers, etc.

yes although i am mad at the cw for not having kara stay, i am happy that they did it tastefully and left her with, or as it seems, or for me at least, the general audience pleased and liking her character. it would have been tragic if she was horribly killed off or something worse i cant even begin to think of

I really loved their scenes, at first she seemed distant with him, made sense of course...but when she was hurt, man...that was touching and i was so happy he didn't leave her, their ending scene was sweet, inspiring and also touched points that the show has been bringing up in the last episodes about Clark bringing hope to the people. Loved all about it:D

I don't understand your concern. They're cousins, and Kryptonians are not naturally demonstrative.

So trivial.

Yeah, Clark and Kara have never been affectionate before so why would they start now. I think that it's just not Kara's way.

I don't know how you could say that Clark doesn't love Kara. He begged her not to die with tears in his eyes. Wow.

Well he did say "You are my home" to her...And he wouldn't leave her behind to die..And they hugged...And other lines of family sweetness I can't recall of the top of my head..Happened...I think his actions speak louder than words...He obviously loves and cares for his cousin...Don't worry

they do love each other, theyre just not a very affectionate family. considering how clarks father is, and lets not even mention jor el, can you really blame them for not having good role models for family. the only person i can even think of being sweet hearted is lara. other than that no other person in the house of El sticks out in my mind.

He might not love Kara, but what about Shelby???

Alexander III

Shelby doesn't need to be loved by Clark, he gave on Clark already!

Are you joking? Of course he does. She's his family and he made it very clear that he cared when he wouldn't leave the PZ without her.

Actions speak louder than words and "I luv you" is wayyy overused and under-meant.

I loved the Kara scenes. I would have been royaly ticked off if they let her die in the phantom zone! I'm still upset that she'll only be in 1 episode this year..

It seemed pretty obvious to me in the scene before she flew off that they both love and respect each other quite a bit.

I miss her *sob* !! She should stay for several more episodes!!!!!!!!!!

i thought her scenes were very good in the episode. i liked her character on the whole in the show, i hope maybe if this episode does well in the ratings game they might think about signing laura back for another episode or two. I did like they left her open to return one day with the search for kandor in space storyline.

For once I agree with you Steve.

I thought it was weird, that Clark didn't mention his only cousin's absence at all till now.
He had asked Brainiac about what he has done to her in season 7 and Brainiac told Clark that she isn't dead but in a place worse than that....and Clark didn't worry about her well being or tried to find her at all for 7 episodes now.....

Given all that, he wasn't at all overwhelmingly happy as he saw her again in the PZ, at least I didn't see it.
He always keeps saying that she's his family etc. and then, after such a long time he sees her again and it's like "Oh Lara, you were here all the time. So how things are going...bla, bla, bla.....totally lame IMO!

Could have been warmer, could have been more emotional, at least on Clark's side. He grew up with humans so he is able to show emotions and to actually have them.
Maybe Kara is used to not show her feelings as she has grwon up on Krypton among Kryptonians, but Clark???

No, sorry, I didn't buy that reunion at all - it wasn't believable at all!

I'm happy Laura's gone now as I don't like her acting so much. Even Tom's acting seems to suffer when they have to shoot together. No chemistry at all between them. I so don't like scenes with Kara becuase of that.

I suppose you're refering to my post above?

Well, I do know what I am talking about.

So let's agree to disagree, if you want to, but as I accept your opinion, it would be nice of you if you'd accept mine, too.

 I'd prefer that to making her disappear every third episode or so. With no mention. :\

I like Kara, but I have to say that the writers are correct; this is Clark's story, not hers, and I'm glad she is leaving the show. I think they concluded her plotline nicely.

But, Laura did well portraying her. I liked her last season, and think having her plotline end in this season was a nice twist instead of wrapping it up in the way beginning of S8. Only one thing bugs me about it--Kara was missing and Clark knew she was somewhere bad. He didn't mention her once this entire season. That was a little lame.

Other than that, I'm satisfied with it.

One of my major criticisms of Kara's character is that all her storylines are recycled Clark storylines. This is once again true as here we have Kara's version of "Zod". Instead of Lex getting taken over by Jor-el's enemy Zod, Lois is taken over by Zod's wife, Faora.

That said, it was a wonderful episode for Kara's character. I did think of Raya a bit because Kara has more gravity after living in the Phantom Zone for so long. But I really loved how self less she was. She stayed in the Zone so that she wouldn't put earth at risk.

Laura V. did a fantastic job. I think this is my favorite Kara episode. I was really torn up when I thought Kara was going to die. Then when she decided to go to Kandor... I thought of Superman Returns. It was a great send off for her character.

She's so gorgeous! Loved the amazon braids in her hair. I hope to see her visit again. Especially if Smallville gets picked up for a ninth season.

I totally prefer batman's way of training her. He didn't lecture. He just sent a strange package to her apartment to see whether she would open it. Somehow he would know that she did and the phone rang with batman on the other end just muttering stuff along the lines of 'why the hell would you open it?' With kara replying 'you're a psycho!':rotfl: So much more entertaining than melons

I'm fine with her being off the show since we at least know where she is. Out looking for the bottled city of Kandor is perfect!
You'd think Clark would run over to D.C. to say "Hi" to his mom every now & again...

In Superman Returns he flew off to explore the 28 known galaxies just to find that Krypton is indeed all blown up. The city of Kandor was shrunk & put in a bottle somewhere before Krypton blew up, so she'll find it!

They were totally awesome! The most horrified one would be the scene where she almost died.
