yeah i thought it was a brilliant touch, great way to end the episode. i did however make me think, did doomsday have the thought to steal a crucifix from a nun after he crushed the life out of her, or did davis wake up next to a gruesome corpse of the nun and then decide to keep the cricifix as a keep sake?? or will this be elaborated in a future episode?

uh tess's girl said it was from a nun who was murdered, so as to prove that shadow killer was just a copy cat because he didn't have it. thats when we see it hanging next to davis therefore showing us that he was the killer.

I was wondering that too. Maybe Doomsday is Catholic? :p

Hmm maybe he kept it as a sign that he wasnt a bad person, thanks to thinking he wasnt the real killer?
Or maybe he kept it in some vain attempt to ward off evil?

It was a nice touch. The thing is, they started these twist episode endings last season. The thing I really enjoyed last season was there seemingly constant twist endings. I'm glad they are keeping it up this season.

Now that would really go into the area of satire and social commentary.
I'd applaud SV if it started getting that relavent and smart, however, that's clearly not what they were striving for.

I think the fact that he kept the cross, shows that he is conscious of his crimes on some level.

Could we see Doomsday going to confessions as well? :p
But seriously, the necklace could have just stuck to one of Doomsday's spikes, and Davis found it when he came to and decided to keep it.

Me? I'm messing around. Not to answer for Stu.Kent, but I assume he was doing the same.

Could we please stop the Catholic jokes? Some of us find it offensive to see our way of life turned into a joke. Thanks for understanding.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend, but we aren't making fun of Catholics. I'm making fun of Doomsday keeping the cross necklace. If he had kept someone's Ohio State Buckeye pin or AC/DC CD (exclusively from Wal-Mart), I would make fun of that too.

Davis mentioned to Chloe in Isis that he's run through the self doubt- so I'm guessing he woke up covered in blood one day with that cross in his fist (after murdering the girl). Perhaps he took it as a sign (or hes just in a freaked mental place) to have kept it. He's a clever guy, hanging evidence that you committed murder from your rear view mirror isn't clever. Obviously, the "Shadow freak' attack convinced him that he was innocent of murder (and he just has these 'unexplained' blackouts).
This will be interesting to follow.

I liked the cross idea a lot, it shows to the public Davis was the killer after all and Clark was right, maybe with this, Clark will discover in the future he was right after all...I think the cross might have ended in Davis' hands after he killed her and he probably didn't remember how, so he just kept it, saw it as a sign or something. I don't think he thought about it too much.

The Cross is cool on a lot of levels. The Crucifix represents Jesus dying on the cross. The rosary represents penance and prayers. On some level, I think Davis knows that he is responsible for evil deeds while he is blacked out. He said something like he felt a darkness within him. He probably keeps the crucifix hanging as some kind of unconscious penance for his unconscious deeds. Like "God, forgive me for whatever I may be doing that I am not aware of."
Doomsday, on the other hand, must have ripped the rosary off of a nun he brutally murdered. That is just all kinds of sick and twisted.

I'm going to have to rewatch the last scene of Davis but when it shows the window of the ambulance it kind of looks like he has the whole rosary bead chain hanging around the rearview mirror with the cross hanging down. So it could well be he just happens to have a rosary chain in which case he didn't get it from the nun. Maybe I am mistaken though and it is just the cross hanging.

A rosary containing an onyx crucifix was taken from the nun, according to Tess' lackey.

I thought Tess' henchwoman said the cross was missing from the nun's rosary?
Would they really have picked up on a nun's rosary being missing? I thought it was noted that the cross was missing because the rosary was still on the nun when she was found. Gonna have to go back and watch.
