Only 2 hours and 10 minutes left for some people!
Count down to the episode and talk about it live as it airs, here!

LOL! @ going undercover as "Devon & Bonnie!"
Loved that nod to the classic.
Yet again, they're building a story around scantily clad chicks in bikini's.
Coincidence? I think not. Shallow? I think so. :\

Those weren't pieces of him were they? Maybe they went over that cliff.

Random thoughts:
Ha ha ha! That was cool. The look on that little boy's face when KITT drove out of the water.
Zoe kind of gets on my nerves.
Beach scene..... Do breast implants boil at a certain temperature?
They are shamelessly doing the skin thing again. That one chick practically walked right into the camera for a boob close-up.
I mean, I'm a guy, but I still recognize that this is a really cheap move on the network's part.

Zoe's no more irritating than the usual chick, who's quite forgettable at this point. The rest of your post I agree

I like Sarah, but yeah... she does seem kind of like a scripted character so far.
Maybe they'll build on her in the future episodes, so she connects more with the viewers.
----- Added 10 Minutes later -----
I know attack mode looks really cool, but what's the actual point of it?
Does it allow KITT to go faster? Is that it? He's not really attacking anything or anybody, so if speed is the only outcome, it just seems like it's misnamed.
----- Added 25 Minutes later -----
This episode was okay, I didn't hate it, but it was kind of flat.
My question is, is every episode going to wrap itself up neatly in an hour?
The missions seem like after the inital hunt, and action scenes, they are wrapped up a little too quickly.
----- Added 42 Minutes later -----
The general structure of all of the episode's, follows a formula:
- Starts at home base (flirting or playfullness with the characters)
- Serious guys introduce the mission
- KITT leaves the hanger
- Finding the bad guy's & infiltrating their group
- Boob shots
- Being discovered & put in danger
- More boob shots
- Chase scene
- Bad guy's are stopped
- Explosion resulting in death of a bad guy
- Mission accomplished/ back to the hanger
- More flirting or playfullness until end credits.

just dawned on me... this is actually the plotline of each episode so far... lol...
not to be nit picky but did anyone notice scratches / paint flaking on KITT's front bumper? i think the nano technology was not working well, lol...
KryptonSite
10-08-2008, 10:15 PM
Haha, if you think that's nit picky imagine me the other day watching Heroes (before Sylar attacked Claire) and noticing that Hayden had a cut on her hand... I'm like hello, she's Claire, it'd heal.
And the "HIEGHT" last week on KR really bugged me.
They should really call it "Super Pursuit Mode" rather than "Attack Mode," but that's the geek in me wanting to be old school.

No, that sound's much better. Good suggestion.
Lol! Was Hayden's cut supposed to be there, or what? I didn't see it.
Do you mean when she cut her hand on the glass, or was it another scene?
What scene did you see KITT's paint flaking?
I'll have to rewatch it later tonight & look for that.

This was at the very beginning of the season premiere, I think... before Sylar attacked. She had a little nick on one of her fingers. Normal for most people, not meant to be in hi-def. ;p

okay I just finished watching tonights episode that I dvred while at work. The dvr description for tonights episode said it was a hard day's knight wich is supposed to air next week and that knight of the iguana is airing this saturday but knight of the igana was the episode that actually aired craig if your reading this is saturday's episode supposed to be s different one then the one aired tonight and they just mixed up the descriptions for tonights and saturdays or was tonight description with hard days knght for next wednesday and saturday is just a repeat of knight of the iguana that aired tonight. I am really cdonfused about when the new episodes are airing are we getting different episodes twice a week now or what I don't want to miss an episode saturday night while at work but I also don't want to rerecord tonights episode if its already on my dvr.
okay back on the topic of the thread I loved knight of the iguana tonight with the devin and bonnie names hopefully we will get more refferences to the old KR and eventually see Kitt 1.0 (knight industries two thousand) in this show brought back to help mike knight jr. and kitt 2.0 (knight industries three thousand)

I will go on record and say I am officially tired of all the skin on the show. With that said i thought this was a fun episode and I really enjoyed having Zoe along for the ride. I'm not sure why Billy and Sarah had to pop in later but oh well.
It's a pretty basic episode but I think we have to just sit tight and let the intro episodes play out. All shows have the beginning chunk of episodes that are meant to set up the style and look of the show before they launch into full mythology. I just hope we get a full season pick up soon so we can get to that point.

Ha ha ha! That was cool. The look on that little boy's face when KITT drove out of the water.Yeah, that moment made me grin from ear to ear...it was funny.
Zoe kind of gets on my nerves.I didn't have anything against Zoe...until tonight's episode. In just two shows, she's gone from a brilliant, multi-lingual, tech-savvy genius with a penchant for flirting...to the equivalent of a stone-drunk "beach blanket bimbo" (as Lois would likely describe it). I really hope both the writers and the actress work hard to redeem this character; we don't need yet another stereotype thrown in our collective faces.
Do breast implants boil at a certain temperature?:rotfl::lol:
They are shamelessly doing the skin thing again. That one chick practically walked right into the camera for a boob close-up.Yeah, I'm really beginning to get sick of the constant "sex factor". While last week was definitely worse IMO, I still think the series needs to tone it down more.
I mean, I'm a guy, but I still recognize that this is a really cheap move on the network's part.Agreed. Note to all NBC producers affiliated with "Knight Rider": knock it off with the sexual garbage, and stick to the story at hand...especially if you want many viewers to stick around for the rest of the year.

i just don't like it when sarah or anyone else drives KITT. i don't mind having sarah sit on the driver's seat, but have KITT run on auto cruise.
i just feel like only Mike should drive KITT.

The episode was fine, in the line with last week's but I still think there are too many characters on this show. On the original one, there were only Michael, Bonnie and Devon.
Just a reminder for the producers, CGI guys of whoever's responsible: get that scanner syncronized with its sound! It's so frustrating!

Considering how "Attack Mode" tries to copy the good old Super Pursuit Mode they should have chose the name more carefully.
Craig, do you like the SSC (Kittcave)? I prefer the old FLAG. More classy and definitely fewer people around.

I agree there are too many characters on the show, and don't really see the point or the reason for that. Mike and Sarah are growing on me, and I like Graiman and understand that Torres is there to be a potential threat, but the rest, I haven't warmed to.
Which is sad because I really like Paul Campbell, who plays Billy, especially... I just don't feel I need five funny sidekicks on a show where the humor should come from the interaction with Mike and KITT.
Ratings are holding pretty steady so NBC is probably happy with the way things are for now, so the too-many-characters and too-much-boobage thing will probably continue.
As for the KITTCave... I don't mind it. I prefer the semi.
What I really don't get is, how could the original Knight Rider make the voice box synch perfectly, and how come could they get the background bluescreens to look less fake, yet this new version, it can look pretty atrocious? Shouldn't technology get better rather than worse?
One things's for sure though... even with too many characters it's still a lot better than Bionic Woman. But I guess I wish I really connected to this supporting cast. It's like, Alias had a huge cast, and a real sneaky threat in Arvin Sloane. I don't feel that with KR's support, and Torres is "meh" to me.

I liked this episode. I didn't chime in on the first two eps because I didn't have anything positive to say (I didn't wanna rain on everybody's parade). I thought they were absolutely horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE. lol especially the premiere. The second ep was an improvement but not by much. But this ep was passable entertainment and a glimmer of hope to hold on to.
Also, I am so glad they seem to have gotten rid of that miserable actress (and character) who played that FBI chick in the premiere (and last year's tv movie/pilot). She was painful to watch, talk about being wrong for the part. I hated her and her character, ugh....please, don't come back! lol

Craig, do you know where there's a big red dot on the left in the voice modulator? I really can't understand its purpose..

Craig, do you know where there's a big red dot on the left in the voice modulator? I really can't understand its purpose..
i think it is suppose to be KITT's eye. it moves to the left when KITT talks to Mike and it moves to the right when KITT talks to the passenger, like in the second episode...
What I really don't get is, how could the original Knight Rider make the voice box synch perfectly, ..., yet this new version, it can look pretty atrocious?
as with regard to the voice box, i think in the original Knight Rider, they used an actual light-up VU meter to measure/show voice modulation while in the new Knight Rider, it's all CGI...

^Sorry to disappoint you Xander, but she'll be back! I, too, think the show could do pretty well without her, but the producers don't seem to agree with us.Nooooooooooooooo.........lol. She's so wrong for the part. I don't buy into her portrayal at all. As others have mentioned, there seem to be too many characters already--she's definitely one they can do without. I'd prefer this series to have focused more on Mike and KITT alone, sort of like how Supernatural just has two brothers, one car, and the open road. lol
And I don't understand why they feel they need to make this series as cheesy as it is right now... Maybe it's because they don't have the budget for a more superior format, I don't know. Cheese is always cheaper, just look at Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. heh
Right now, this series feels too much like that Pamela Anderson dreck "V.I.P.". Which was awful (to me anyway).

I don't like how the original Knight Rider had the lone crusader theme to it and how this one is missing that. They need to kill off Sarah and have Michael going from town to town helping people from criminals. Any love interests should be at most recurring characters or just 1-episode characters as in the original show. This is what Kripke learned from season 2 of Supernatural and why the show is so good. The new Michael Knight is not a lone crusader as the original was.

^You could get a sense of Michael going from town to town helping people in the second episode of the new season, but the third one was overcrowded. Even KITT complained that there were too many people in the car! :)
I just hope that seeing as KR got another 4 scripts from NBC the producers read some comments and start to make some changes to the show.

Sydney Tamiia Poitier will be returning to the show but since the episode order was switched around we seem to have gotten two episodes in a row where she wasn't there. This seems to point to the fact that the character isn't really needed as there hasn't been a noticeable absence detected.
The red dot on the voice box is indeed Kitt's eye as it focuses on the person he is talking to and behind that is the classic voice box from the original series.
I like the KittCave but it would be nice to have Mike on the open road and have a few episodes that focus on the relationship between Kitt and Mike and less on all the people at Knight Research.
In response to someone noticing that Kitt hasn't driven himself since the movie... we saw Kitt pilot himself in the first episode as he went to intercept Mike and Sarah as they were being chased by the soldiers. He also drove during the transformation from truck to car in the desert scene during episode two.

Thats true and I had the same opinion, but frankly I think they need to keep Sarah because she is a much better actor than the guy playing Michael.
By the way, did he sleep with that chick or not? From all the evidence I would say yes absolutely but Sarah didn't seem to care - not even the pretend not care but genuinely not care. I don't know whats going on with that relationship but in order to go anywhere the writers need to sort that stuff out.
