Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer are lucky guys. Not only have they come in to write many of the show's "really big episodes," they have also been fortunate enough to get some of the best performances in some of the ones they've done. Sure they did "Recruit," we'll forgive them for that... but "Commencement" and "Transference" were two gems that will not be forgotten, and we congratulate Todd and Darren on their first win as Best Writers! They walked away with 37% of the vote, or 1656 votes.

Coming in second was the Alfred Gough/Miles Millar team, whose names were only on the episode "Crusade" even though they are highly involved with the entire series production. They had 991 votes, or 22%.

Greg Beeman is one of those folks who keeps everything going well up in Vancouver even when he's not the one listed as director. But the episodes that he did direct himself - which this season were "Crusade," "Unsafe," and "Commencement" - happened to be three of the best looking and most popular of the season. Those who have met Mr. Beeman at the Paley Festival and other events know he's also a very funny guy and a good uniter for the Smallville team.

Beeman blew away his directorial competition, getting 2581 votes, or 65% of the vote. Consider his closest competitor, James Marshall, came in at second place with only 530 votes. Yep, we like him, we really do...

Most anyone who grew up knowing the character of Superman knows about the Justice League, the legendary team of the world's greatest super-heroes.

In the episode "Run," Clark asks Bart what his plans are for the future. "I don't know," he says. "I mean, it's a big world. I figure I'd check it out, see if there's anyone else out there like us. Maybe start, like, a club or a league or something."

That's one TV series we'd like to see. This future Superman Reference got 38% of the vote, or 2025.

The forming of what appears like it will be the Fortress of Solitude in "Commencement" came in at #2, with 1566 votes.

Those folks at Entity FX do some really cool work, but was there ANYTHING cooler than Clark flying in the Season 4 premiere, "Crusade?"

Mat Beck's team created something unlike anything Superman fans had ever seen before this, to create a very unique flying effect. It's too bad this version of Clark Kent cannot usually fly, because it looks really, really cool. 58% of the voters, or 2932 people, seemed to agree.

The new meteor shower in "Commencement" came in at second with 21%.

If internet rumors are right, we may be seeing Dean Cain on the show after all sometime... but when the voting went on here, the fans picked the former Superman Cain as the guest from previous incarnations of Superman that folks would most like to see on Smallville.

Dean played Clark Kent, aka Superman, from 1993 to 1997 in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. 1925 people, or 39% of those who voted, want to see Dean on Smallville at some point. His Lois & Clark co-star, Teri Hatcher, now known for her work on Desperate Housewives, came in at third with 969 votes.

Coming in second place was Gene Hackman, "Lex Luthor" from "Superman: the Movie," who got 35% of the vote.
